Went to dine in for a friend's birthday, was easily one of my worst dining experiences in all of my time in South Florida. The place was virtually empty, with only two other tables with two guests each, yet every step of the dining experience was a nightmare. Simply getting water for the table took 30 minutes and multiple requests, every other request from straws, to a simple drink order was virtually forgotten. 2 martinis and a simple glass of wine took an hour to arrive at the table. It was so bad that the sushi chef was constantly checking in after witnessing the service being presented. Our original server was sweet and very apologetic, but was clearly not a server and was unable to carry out basic tasks, it appears they were understaffed, which seems to be a very common theme within other reviews of the place. Due to the excessive delays, a new server, Paul, came in to take our table. While he corrected the previous mistakes and brought out everything accordingly, he was incredibly condescending and snarky from start to finish. He made it abhorrently clear that he did not want to be there, was constantly throwing subtle jabs and seemed to be mocking us for wanting an improved dining experience. Despite the terrible experience, there was 0 effort from the restaurant and management to alleviate our troublesome experience and show any empathy. There was no attempt to comp our drinks that took an HOUR to come, nothing offered for the birthday, and not one time did a manager come to the table to speak with us and offer her apologies. After speaking up and requesting simply our hour-late drinks be removed from the tab and nothing else, Paul was incredibly rude, making several passive-aggressive comments and being hesitant to do so. After requesting to speak to the manager for the miserable experience we just endured, she did not even have the guts to come speak to the table and we watched as she told Paul she would be "right back" just to walk out the door and never return. Absolutely embarrassing. Paul returns to tell us that we now have to wait for corporate to call back to handle the situation and that there is no timetable of when they might call back. I have never seen such a pushback from a restaurant to correct their mistakes in my life. Corporate needs to be called to take off $25 of hour-late items off a check because the manager could not come do it herself??? Utterly embarrassing and low; I would be ashamed to call myself a restaurant with that display of customer service and appreciation. Just say right now you don't care about your guests. After staying and waiting for some resolution over the phone, Paul finally comes to tell us that they will remove our drinks, however, he continues his run of being completely rude and snarky and feels the need to inform us that it is corporate policy that those two drinks will be coming out of his check. I have never witnessed something so out of touch and shallow. Food was okay but nowhere near good enough to excuse the deplorable and embarrassing service presented; there is 30 sushi spots in Broward county I would rather go to than here. Will never be coming again. Would say maybe get take out but other reviews seem to suggest they can not even do that properly either. Go eat somewhere where you are welcome and your business is appreciated.
