Amazing sushi place! It was very fresh and you could tell they use high quality ingredients. The place is small but very cozy!!! The salmon roll was amazing. I will definitely come back.

LOVED this place. Popped in with my friends visiting from NYC and was so blown away we came right back the next day and ordered even more food. Service was quick and efficient, and the chef even offered his recommendations based on what we were ordering. The atmosphere is lovely, with cute decor, including eclectic and colorful parasols hanging from the ceiling. Super clean, too. The fish was fresh, juicy and expertly prepared. I would have to pay way more for this kind of quality back home! I cannot emphasize enough what a great value this was.

Yes, it’s more a grab-and-go place but they do have couple tables for dine in. The sushi is simply phenomenal - every piece was a testament to freshness, with perfectly seasoned rice and impeccably cut fish that melted in your mouth. One of the best sushi experiences I've had. Strongly recommended!

Just had dinner on their first night open. Delicious, creative sushi rolls (we tried the Tokyo roll), fresh sashimi. We even got to try the beef curry, added a nice warm savory note to our dinner. They are designed for takeout, but have seating inside. Would be great for a weekday work lunch or grabbing dinner on the way home, if you work/live nearby. A welcome addition to the neighborhood, I will be stopping in again.

The sushi left a lot to be desired. There are lots of great sushi spots in New Orleans and this one didn’t meet my expectations. Salmon lacked flavor, rice was gummy, and some rolls barely had fish. It was fresh but not the most delicious sushi.

The portions of fish were generous and the ratio of fish to rice was great (not too much rice). Unfortunately, the fish wasn't amazing, just good.

I came here because a friend in the hospital wanted some sushi. I received excellent service. I asked for help to choose a broad selection of sushi. Every roll was immaculately made and delicious. The House Steak roll......delicious. The Hawaii roll.....delicious. The Takumi roll that was suggested was delicious. Winter roll is delicious, as was the Hurricane roll. There are a few more rolls I want to try. I would definitely go back. There are a few spicy rolls I want to sample and I will get the House Steak roll again. Will try the Po-boy roll as well.

We order takeout here weekly, delicious and fresh. The owner is so nice and always so grateful.

Amazing fresh sushi with reasonable prices! We randomly stopped here on our way to a show at the Civic Theater. The menu is a good size and has something for everyone. We settled on a few rolls (Sunshine, Spice Girl, Triple Spicy, Red Dragon, and another I can't remember off the top of my head) and all of them were ooshi! Not too much sauce to hide the fresh taste. We also had a very nice conversation about local fishing spots and national parks with Johnny, one of the owners. Such a sweet guy! Be careful of the front step!

Great sushi spot in the Central Business District. Mainly a to go spot (there is no actual dining ware for "here" orders) but a few tables you can sit at. We enjoyed lunch - a great value! Friendly service.

Sushi Takuni is in the old Affogato Bar location... a cute corner spot in the CBD. I had lunch delivered. The menu has GREAT lunch specials... super value for the price. Everything was packaged so well for delivery. The produce in particular was exceptionally fresh. The cucumber salad was soooo sweet and fresh and crunchy. The sauces were above ordinary, super complex and delicious. The rolls were large and held together. The only negative was the noodles, they were not cooked all the way, were gummy and crunchy at the same time. Pretty awful actually. I look forward to exploring more of this menu. This is a great addition to the neighborhood. I've looked in the window while out walking the dogs and the interior is welcoming. This is a great spot to grab some sushi on the run or get it delivered. I'm sure they will work out a few minor menu issues as their operations get going. Overall fantastic!

I have gotten takeout from here twice and both times have been phenomenal. The seaweed salad is delicious, the edamame is always fresh and they have a whole section for veggie rolls which I love! My partner got hamachi crudo and said it was fresh and so good in addition to a spicy tuna roll and the wasabi roll all of which he said were incredible. Especially the wasabi roll. They are quick for orders placed online as well and the staff always seems friendly. The dine in area is small but inviting.

Very nice. Salmon was very fresh. Rice was prefect and even in a Togo container the presentation was on point. They made my food super quick and they didn't have to because we got there at closing. Thanks so much! Will definitely be back

First impression: meh. Ordered on Uber Eats and they waited 25 minutes to cancel my order. Menu looks very ordinary.

Really amazing food! We at in the restaurant and food came out fast and everything was so fresh. Some of the best sushi I've had in the city. Definitely will return.

Quick takeout for lunch. Ordered on yelp. $13 for any two rolls and a soup. I really want to go back for a real dinner.

Casual gem! Amazing quality and price. Sushi was fresh and tasty, we loved the maki dinner special! The spicy tuna maki and yellowtail maki was our favorite. Service was amazing and the owner was super sweet and welcoming. Will definitely be coming back!

Fantastic atmosphere and very friendly staff. Had the crunchy roll the first visit and I had to go back for a second time in my short trip while in New Orleans. They have affordable options for a variety of food lovers. Would recommend to anyone who loves sushi for a wonderful experience.

This place is racist, I was told that I couldn't eat inside because I only spent a certain amount of money, I get the same thing everytime. He told me this isn't McDonald's I have to get my food and go. I didn't cause any problems, I just wanted my money back . I will not be returning.

I've done takeout from here twice now and ate in person, all times loved it! Their staff is lovely, they have thrown in an extra miso soup on occasion for takeout. You can tell the vibe is meant to be casual, but also being in the downtown area, they do a good job being efficient and welcoming. The tuna and salmon rolls were both great, along with the gyoza appetizer. I've been living downtown for a while now, and it's great to have a reasonably priced, fresh sushi spot that's convenient. Will definitely continue to order from here and 10/10 recommend!
