I LOVED this place. The quality of fish is incredible, it melts in your mouth. The rolls are also fantastic .. I was really amazed by the high quality of products considering that it is hard to find high quality food in San Antonio. I will come back for sure, and the staff was very friendly too.

Excellent ambiance. The choices of sushi and rolls is great. We ordered the chefs dinner, fatty salmon roll, crab cakes- all were delicious. Seafood is fresh. I enjoyed my nice Christmas Margarita drink perfect for the season. Staff is very attentive, professional and knowledgeable. This is an upscale, sushi/ Japanese place perfect for any occasion.

We walked in and we were greeted by a super friendly lady. I made reservations, so we were seated right away. Our waiter Lucas was on top of everything and we have nothing to complain. The whole staff was amazing, the food delicious and I'm sure we will be back! 1 little tip, adding some butter and some more salt to the edamame would be amazing.

This has to be one of the best restaurants that I have eaten at. Chicken fried rice is spot on. Delicious pork filled dumplings. There is no doubt it would be easy to fill up before the main course. A very pleasant and professional staff really rounds out a perfect experience.

Fantastic food. This place has the best sushi and seafood in San Antonio. I would give them 10 stars. The appetizers were delicious, and the drink menu includes a good selection of cocktails and wine. The sushi menu includes a variety of fresh and delicious ocean treats. I had the sea bass, which was absolutely the best I have had. Extra delicate and delicious the fish was cooked perfectly and exceeded my expectations. The dessert was the banana roll and it was a table favorite. The staff is wonderful, and the owner takes great care in ensuring your dining experience is the best it can be. Don't wait, go eat there today, it's worth it.

Sushihana exceeds and & all expectations when it comes to their staff, service, and food! I had a sushi lunch scheduled to celebrate a very important milestone with another local Japanese restaurant and they cancelled super last minute. I called multiple restaurants around town, but could not find anyone willing to accommodate the order until I talked to Sushihana. The manager, Kimberly, was a delight to work with and she helped me to put the lunch together in record timing! The staff came in on their day off to prepare the lunch, so that the sushi was as fresh as possible. Everyone, including my sushi aficionado husband, were blown away! They went above and beyond, so whether you are looking for the best sushi spot in SA or looking to have a catered event with delicious food, Sushihana is THE place to go! Thank you again to the wonderful staff who saved a very important celebration!

I hadn't known until last week that Sushihana had outdoor seating. We finally checked it out and had a great experience. We started with the shrimp and veggies tempura, edamame and seaweed salad. My husband and I shared a bottle of Sassoregale Sangiovese which was perfect. We got the following sashimi to share: ankimo/monkfish liver, tamago/egg, eel, striped bass, escolar, bluefin, hamachi belly, and fatty salmon. We ate it all with some sushi rice. Everything was fresh and delicious! For dessert, we decided to try the green tea creme brulee which was excellent! Definitely will be back! They have omakase so we'll have to try that.

Came here for a traditional Japanese New Year's meal. I didn't have reservations, but was able to get quickly seated since it was lunch time and not crowded. Note, they do close down after lunch and reopen again in the evening. Luckily, I came in early enough before they closed at 2p. Ordered the tempura asparagus, tempura green beans, and tempura sweet potato, and asparagus fries as appetizers. Each came out within 10 minutes and were perfectly fried and crisped. For the meals, ordered the Beef Yakitori, Grilled Octopus, Negitorio Roll, Big Easy Roll, Dragon Roll, and Sushi Sashimi Combo. The orders came out as they were ready and were nicely plated. Fish was fresh and of good quality. There's not many options for good sushi in San Antonio, but this is definitely one of the better ones.

Yelp
Best sushi I've had in San Antonio so far. Great for a date night or when the parents are in town. Wait staff was so friendly and really elevated the experience. I definitely will be back!

Yelp
My husband and I loooooooove coming to Sushihana! They hands down have the best sushi rolls in town. Service is impeccable (we've had Emma multiple times and she is great!) and anytime we are indecisive the staff is super helpful in helping to pick which rolls to try! The interior is also cozy and we love sitting at the booths or in the room next to the sushi bar to watch them make the rolls. I recommend trying Sushihana next time you are looking to have a delicious sushi experience!

Yelp
Great service, intimate setting, flavors were all delicious, and sushi was fresh. They gave us some huge slices of sashimi. Definitely a top sushi spot in SA. Tempura eggplant was the best I've had since Japan. Super light!

Yelp
This is a popular place, get your reservation in order even for lunch! Great food Good service Nice energy Environment is adequate Prices are reasonable for the quality of food Must try if you are a sushi person

Yelp
Our first time trying this place. The food we ordered was pretty good - I even enjoyed their espresso martini. We didn't have reservations, but they were able to seat us right away. Service was great! The restaurant looked really nice - classy. Would definitely go back.

Yelp
Sushihana is yet another SATX sushi gem we discovered! We were so excited to try this place that we failed to realize they open at 5pm for dinner (fyi) we arrived at 4:35pm to an empty parking lot lol. On the bright side, we were seated right away (when they opened) even though it got so busy very quickly! It's a beautifully designed restaurant with an authentic Japanese ambiance/feel and aesthetic! To start, we had harumaki (egg rolls), spicy edamame, unagi nigiri and the sashimi regal. The unagi was definitely my favorite from all the appetizers we ordered. The egg rolls and the sauce were also very delicious. My husband also ordered just one oyster which I thought was awesome that he was able to order just 1. He enjoyed it. My husband ordered the bam bam roll and I ordered the jazz roll. Both rolls were so delicious and nicely crafted/plated. Highly recommend both of these rolls. They have a variety of other Japanese dishes/food options aside from the sushi bar! Last but not least, our server Alejandro was great! He was so attentive and made awesome recommendations! Very grateful for his excellent service! We will definitely be returning! Highly recommend sushihana!

Yelp
Very tasty, fresh ingredients and kind staff. Dim lights, rather quiet restaurant, and very clean.

Yelp
Sushi is very good and the drinks are tasty! We sat at the sushi bar and enjoyed speaking to the chef. He made recommendations for our next roll based on what we like, and it did not disappoint! It was a few weeks ago that we went and heading back again this week to introduce someone else to this establishment. Can't wait!

Yelp
Service was amazing and the sushi never disappoints! The tenderloin beef teriyaki is delicious, MUST TRY.

Yelp
Possibly some of the best Asian fusion whatever you want to call it food in SA. I say that because I know Asians don't put bacon in their authentic fried rice. Speaking of that... woooweee, if you haven't, then you should because you'll never want to order any other type of fried rice ever again. Go here immediately and order the bacon fried rice and do not share because that's how good it is. The sea bass... it's like the gates of heaven opened up on this one. Melt in your mouth goodness. I substituted the mashed potatoes for rice because I just can't do potatoes at an Asian spot. I feel bad for asking the chef for a substitution but my belly thanked me. Calamari was delicious!! However, I remember back in the day they use to be bigger and included mostly tentacles. It won't stop me from ordering again but just saying... The sauces that accompanied them were good but not necessary because they're great on their own. What I'm trying to say is nothing has disappointed me and I've been coming since before I discovered Yelp.

Yelp
I wanted to give this place 5 stars but honestly the service was ok. Didn't realize you need a reservation for tables, but can sit at bar for full service too. We went ahead, got a hot sake and some food. Fish was fresh in my opinion, it was great! There were a lot of options for rolls, we went with nelson. Had garlic, jalapeño and great fish. We also got spicy edamame, delicious! This is pricey, but quality was decent. I personally loved this place! Drinks were cool, we sat at the bar and watched drinks being made. It does get loud but plenty of tables if you make the reservation. We'll be back!

Yelp
Best, most authentic sushi in San Antonio. Don't go to places that only carry tuna, salmon and shrimp.

Yelp
This is my favorite sushi restaurant in San Antonio!! The service is amazing!! The servers have always been very attentive and I've never had to wait for a drink. They unfold napkins for you and box up your food at the end of the meal, which is awesome! It's not pretentious either! The sushi is amazing! The house salad is delicious and comes with an amazing house dressing! It's large enough to split between two or three people as an appetizer. The spicy edamame is SO GOOD!! I've never seen it anywhere else. So good, and not too spicy for this spice afraid girl. Highly recommend! My favorite new roll, recommended by our server, is the Nagatori. BEYOND AMAZING!! I'm not a foodie but I almost died and went to heaven when this hit my mouth! And New Orleans is also delicious! A lovely atmosphere. More upscale than other sushi restaurants I've been to, which is somewhat reflected in their prices but it's not totally abnormal for sushi prices in this city. The ambiance is nice and the waiters are amazing. The food is superb!!

Yelp
Anything on the menu is wonderful but I love their lunch bento boxes! The service and staff are always

Yelp
It's always an enjoyable experience at Sushihana. The service is always good and the food is delicous. And let us not forget the Sake

Yelp
Seriously some of the BEST sushi I've ever had. I highly recommend this place. You won't be disappointed!

Yelp
The food here is absolutely incredible. My favorite is the steak fried rice. I have it made with brown rice. Everything is made fresh. The portions are huge. Their prices are a bit upscale, but they make it up with the amount of food they give you.

Yelp
Good Japanese food, not great but good nonetheless. I've been spoiled by the surprisingly large Chinatown in Vegas with many excellent Asian restaurants. We had the calamari, while tasty was a very small portion on a huge plate that highlights how small the portion was. The Japanese spring rolls were delicious, perfect not hard fried but crispy and flaky. The lamb chops were yummy, expertly cooked, but heavily salted. The seafood soba seamed like great deal, and had good flavor, but could have used more actual seafood.

Yelp
So many great things to say about Sushihana, where do I start? The service was incredible! We got there right when it opened and we were seated right away. Heads up they get busy on the weekends so make reservations. Our waiter Alejandro was very kind and informative and had wonderful recommendations, he was definitely a nice part of our experience. The restaurant itself is amazing, the esthetics gave you a very authentic Japanese sushi house feel to it. Last but not least, the food! Amazing, I loved the sashimi regal. It had three beautiful cuts of salmon, bluefin, and yellowtail! All of my favorite. I really enjoyed there slices of fish, the thickness and portions were perfect. My wife and I like to order rolls for fun but preferably we enjoy nigiri more but we like to get full off of some rolls. All of it was delicious and I highly recommend eating here if ever in San Antonio.

Yelp
Have driven past sooo many times and always see this place packed, unless it's closed altogether. Well intentionally went to have dinner and honestly wasn't quite sure what to expect. However was pleasantly surprised! Initially asked to not be seated at the bar, as I hate sitting there, but because I was party of one, or maybe hostess didn't hear me? Anyway ended up seating at the bar, next to the loudest people in the establishment. The place does get noisy, at least at the bar and it's the last time I'll sit there lol.. (well what are earbuds for right?) Server was super friendly and attentive. Was going to go for several small plates until I saw the Salmon almost at the end of the menu. Went with a Miso Soup and the Salmon & Crab dish. Whew! This was delicious!!! Mind blown. Salmon cooked to perfection, super flaky and tender, well seasoned perfect with the crab on top. The green beans were charred, crispy, and flavorful. They had some glaze that was phenomenal with the white rice. The portion is pretty large! 6oz Salmon, plus the rest.. I really tried to finish it all, as it was so delicious, but couldn't. So happy to have leftovers because this dish was special. Was so full I couldn't deal with dessert but seems the portions are big unless it's ice cream? Can't be sure. What I can be sure of is, that salmon was a dish I'd go back over and over for!! Great food and service!!

Yelp
The hubs and I went to Sushihana after two friends recommended it. The restaurant was elegant and very clean. We shared an edamame appetizer (YUM) and we each got a sushi roll. I really don't remember which rolls we got but boy were they good! Our server was exceptional as well. We'll be back soon!

Caroline W.

Yelp
Love Sushihana! One of my fave sushi places in SA apart from Shiro. Personal faves - spicy edamame, fried rice, cucumber salad, Duncan roll, Nelson Roll and Spicy Girl roll.
google avatar

Jenny N.

Yelp
Service was very good, waiter was very helpful in explaining the menu and checked in on us a lot. Sashimi and nigiri pieces had nice big cuts except I thought the nigiri had a little too much rice. The quality of the fish was very good and tasted pretty fresh (to my knowledge lol), and the rolls were a good size, about 10 pieces.
google avatar

Randy H.

Yelp
Everything was wonderful! They have the best fried rice ever! Also had gyozas, miso soup, sunomo, sushi and shrimp tempura. All delicious. Service was spectacular. Ambiance was a gentle murmuring and not loud like some places. I highly recommend this place and will be returning multiple times.

Yelp
What a fantastic restaurant! Even though it's been in San Antonio for over two decades, it was our first time trying it, and we were blown away. The spicy edamame was a standout--perfectly charred and unlike any I've ever had (not too spicy, even for me). The Nelson roll and albacore appetizer were also incredible. We loved it so much we're already planning our next visit!

Mica T.

Yelp
As someone raised in Hawaii, I have eaten the freshest fish my whole life. After moving to San Antonio, I had a hard time finding a sushi restaurant comparable to home. Sushihana provides such fresh fish and everything I have ordered has not disappointed. Also to mention that our server MATT is the BEST! He is attentive and so so great. We come weekly and always request for him.
google avatar

Yumi M.

Yelp
Definitely recommend! I came here on a Friday night and it was packed - seemed like reservation was highly recommended. My girlfriend and I split the grilled octopus, sushi & sashimi platter and the crabcake. The octopus was grilled just right. Sashimi was surprisingly tasty and the cut was also just how I would expect a sashimi to be. The crabcake was a pleasant surprise as it reminded me of the Japanese crab cream croquette.
google avatar

Gina H.

Yelp
The steak bento and bacon fried rice are the favorites! The steak is always tender and delicious. The bacon fried rice is delicious beyond description, so dang good. Service is always solid and ambiance is nice.

Gina T.

Yelp
A decent spot for sushi, this place gets packed! Recommend reservations and getting there early because the parking lot is crazy. Food was good, decent sized pieces and fairly quick service. Our table was a little small, but they made use of all the space in the restaurant.
google avatar

Yelp
We came here for our Valentine's Day dinner date. Our first time here at the food especially the sushi was fantastic. We will definitely be back to try other items on their menu.

Yelp
Any sushi fans out there? We had some excellent sushi and other bites last night at this amazing place. We have been dining here for years and it's always been consistently delicious! Bravo!

Yelp
I have seen this place many a time but never tried until today when we ended up here for a work lunch. Great service and we were seated immediately despite the place being pretty busy . This amazing service continued throughout the meal. And the interior is really nice. They have a large menu with lots of choices of sushi, sashimi and other cooked or chilled dishes! We began with spicy edamame and the tempura asparagus which I had not seen before on any menu but was so good with a delightful wasabi based dip! I tried the Nelson roll which was really good. Wish it was a teeny bit colder but it was well made and very tasty! One of the best sushi places I have tried here in San Antonio
google avatar

Yelp
This by far is my favorite restaurant in all of Texas. I've been coming here for years. I've never had bad service or food here and I've probably had almost everything on the menu. This place is the best place for lunch. You cannot beat the bento box you get here. (I always get the chicken teriyaki.) I went to Highschool ~Mile away and would get these to go sometimes on special occasions. Best presentation and high quality food. If you want an amazing appetizer, the spicy edamame is better than any other restaurant with a similar dish. Also their crab cakes are hard to beat. Their sushi is amazing and if you want something special their toro is yummy. I went here for my birthday but I live in Dallas now. I came all the way to San Antonio to have a birthday dinner here. Best choice I could've made. Throughout our table we had soft shell crab, crab cakes, shishito peppers, spicy edamame, fried rice, a lot of sushi rolls, octopus sashimi, tempura chicken, toro sashimi, chocolate cake, tempura cheesecake and the banana roll. Everything was perfect, service and food. If you want a good dinner and you like food. Go here. Note: I would make reservations first. It can get busy and if you want takeout call ahead.

Yelp
Normally I would give this place 5 stars as the food is nice and it arrived on time but the service was bad. Our waiter was so rude! He was straight up sarcastic when he did acknowledge me, my husband and my stepmom but most of the time he ignored us. Who he didn't ignore was my dad, who he knew was paying for the meal. I understand you want a good tip, and my dad always lets it known he will tip well because he knows how hard it is to work in retail since i've worked retail for 9 years. BUT to literally ignore everyone but the person paying is so damn rude. He practically threw my silver ware down, made a very snarky comment to my husband when he accidentally thought we ordered the salmon instead of bento salmon. He was like "oh i was so sure you meant the entree since you said it so strongly" like no, sir, my husband said salmon bento, don't blame others for a simple mistake. Also when asked if the hot tea was strong japanese tea (my stepmother is Japanese) he made a big deal it was strong when it was just regular sencha. Otherwise the place is beautiful and the food was nice. If we ever come again I hope we get another waiter.

Idalia B.

Yelp
We ordered sashimi and it was so fresh and delicious. Also has the spicy edamame. The steak was cooked on point . Overall great experience,

Yelp
my boyfriend and i came here for our 5 year anniversary and they did not disappoint!! the food was amazing and played so nicely. this is our second time here! servers are all super sweet and attentive.

Yelp
My favorite sushi place for lunch. The service is great and the food is fresh and delicious. We had to sit at the bar today, but Matthew did an excellent job serving us. Everything came out quickly and he refilled our waters before we had to ask.

Yelp
Super fresh fish, tasty rolls, and even tastier sashimi/nigiri. Ordered the chefs dinner to try out all of their fish and omg the bluefin tuna is TO DIE FOR. With the chefs dinner you get two sushi rolls - we went with the Nelson and Negitoro. Both were super tasty. Can't wait to come back and try some of their other menu items - heard great things about there fried rice so may come back for that and 100% the bluefin tuna!
google avatar

Mike C.

Yelp
Hands down best sushi in town. Everything is top notch. Howard and his team spare no expense to hit your pallet with pure heaven with each bite. I could live here!

Tammy G.

Yelp
Love every meal experienced so far . The bacon fried rice is really hood. The steaks are high quality and the wine list is great. The atmosphere is bustling but pleasant. I like sitting at the bar, the outside dining is blah. Great place for a girls night out or date night. Cheers !

Frank S.

Yelp
Great service and solid sushi. I'm not huge on Sashimi but their Japanese red snapper was really really good.

Yelp
This sushi eatery is a hidden gem tucked away on a roadside in San Antonio, TX. The ambience and decor was extremely inviting, and their servers very warm and welcoming. As the food came out, my whole family was mesmerized by every dish. Starting with the oysters, it had a refreshing marinade that accentuated the oyster. Next came the grilled octopus in what reminds me of a soy-ponzu sauce. The octopus was grilled to perfection. It was not too raw, and it wasn't over cooked or too chewy. The octopus came out with the Rice with Salmon Roe. The salmon roe gave the rice extra flavor because of its saltiness and paired very well with Grilled Octopus. The Seared Bluefin Tuna Cheek was also very well done, perfectly seared. And if that wasn't enough already, the main course definitely caused a lot of gasps at the table. The sushi/sashimi assortment that came was gorgeously prepared and arranged. There were two kinds of fatty tuna, king salmon, 3 different kinds of red snapper, and I am pretty sure I left out several other fishes as well. I am telling you, my words are not doing these incredibly fresh and delicious assortment of sushi/sashimi any justice. It's definitely a meal I will be reminiscing for years to come. Each slice of sashimi felt like I was swimming with the bluefin tuna, absolutely amazing. Ambience: 5 Service: 5 Food: 5 Conclusion: This is a place you have to give a chance. If you have been hesitant before, have no fear! Walk on in and you won't regret it. Order the fatty tuna and the king salmon if they have it, the chef ( I believe his name is Jorge) does a great job breaking down the bluefin tuna that you won't get any gristle like you might at some other places. I would definitely go back, especially if they have omakase!

Yelp
This was a last minute lunch decision and the food was presented beautifully and filled with traditional Japanese flavors. The lunch bento box was filled with healthy options in perfect portions. The tempura was crispy and filling. The Salmon was moist and the combination of rice and sauce was interesting yet delicious. My lunch guest was a little disappointed that no military discount was an option, but the food was great.

Yelp
I've been here a couple times and the sushi is pretty good, but today was the first time eating something that wasn't sushi. My husband and I ordered udon, which we were pretty excited about because we both had been craving udon for so long! When the bowls came out we were pretty disappointed. It had a bunch of veggies in it... I guess we're used to traditional udon from Japan (we go almost every year). So strange to have broccoli and carrots in udon... and to add to that, there were barely any noodles. It was practically 80% veggies. I ate mine, but my husband sent his back because it was not what we expected. The manager (I'm assuming) made his rounds to all the tables asking how everything was, and he asked the table next to us how they were doing. He started walking away from us and kind of circled back as an afterthought and looked us up and down AND THEN asked how we were doing. I get it, I look young and I have tattoos all over my arms, but I'm still a paying customer. For all he knows, I can tip better than some of the tables he was nicer to. Probably won't come here again unless someone begged me to come.

Alanya F.

Yelp
Walking in we had no idea the experience we were about to have. Ambiance was excellent, service was exceptional, from the hostess to the waiter and even the chefs at the sushi bar. Everyone was so kind, very friendly and open to questions when you sit at the sushi bar. Not to mention the excellent food, coming from knowing HEB sushi this place had it beat by 100%. Absolutly no bad things to say about this place I highly recommend.

Yelp
I now have a new favorite Sushi restaurant. Had not been here in years and not only is it beautiful inside the food was so awesome. Started off with the tempura asparagus and was so good. I asked for the aioli all night and ate it with everything. We shared three rolls that was suggested by our waitress. Highly recommend.

Yelp
Love, love, love sushiHana sushi. The food was extraordinarily fresh and delicious. The service was excellent. The social distancing and respect during the pandemic was outstanding. We did have one dish that didn't taste quite right. I wasn't looking to send it back but notified the waitress so that the chef could know this. Without asking she took it off our check. What more could you ask. I highly recommend this place!
