Sushiology by Atariya

Nice new decor after the renovation but the sushi quality decreases. The fish quality is still similar to before, however the rolls I had were so bad, the seaweed was so hard, it was so hard to bite through. That was just the beginning of the problems. The portion of fish to rice was really inconsistent and the pieces feel apart easily even with the tough seaweed. Service was night and day to before, I had to wait almost 15 mins for two makis - unacceptable for a take away. Also note there has been a price hike too. I would avoid. For value sushi I'd rather go to eat tokyo.

I tried the Sushiology chirachi bowl and it was delicious. Generous portion and fair price. Even the small side of soy, wasabi and ginger felt slightly tastier compared to the usual...

We ordered take away. The stuff was very helpful to help us choose. The food was done quickly and beautifully right in front of us. Sushi was fresh and delicious. Highly recommended.

Thumbs up for fresh ingredients, the avocado was perfect, the sushi rice, the eel, everything. Thumbs down for the excessive use of plastic! It’s a real shame

New edition of Artariya Sushi Bar, loved the old place but the new one seems refreshing. Looking forward on the food if that remains the same.

I believe cooking is a sacred activity and should be done only when you are happy, relaxed and at peace with yourself so that the meal will be delicious and bring positive emotions to the people who will eat it. This is why I cook only when I have enough time and energy. Whenever I don't feel like I can manage, I go to this place and enjoy perfect sushi. From what I can taste, I think the chefs here are putting a lot of love into their work as everything I've tried here is amazing, especially the salmon avocado roll. And the prices are great as well.

Fresh sushi at cheap prices! My to-go place and I loved the chirashi bowl there and all the different sushi too. The people are friendly. Gets abit crowded during meal times (esp in Dec), so go early to get a seat. Worth it to eat here if you’re looking for Asian food, especially if you’re at Oxford Street.

Not what it used to be. Probably my last visit to this place after the numerous changes it has had. First started eating here in 2007 and there was nothing quite like the "Super Deluxe Chirashi" for a bargain. Atariya being London's worst kept secret for raw fish. Several years later there would be a long wait for orders, understandably as an affordable sushi lunch was a rarity. Now they've sold out (up?), taken away the Japanese staff and revamped the place, it is all but a sterile run off the mill sushi joint. All good things come to an end.
