I walked past Susie Cakes regularly for a year before I stopped in because I'm not a cake or cupcake kinda girl, but I saw they had cookies, and I'm definitely a cookie lady! Let me tell you... I'm so happy I did. Their peanut butter cookie just melts in your mouth, soft chewy and moist, the best one I've had! The chocolate chip cookie was perfect, thin, crispy edges, slightly salted, melt in your mouth center with the right amount of chocolate to cookie ratio. One day while waiting in line, I decided to sample the mocha cupcake and this was the best cupcake I've had! I wasn't a cupcake person because they always seemed so sweet and lacking flavor no matter where I got them, but these... these were amazing, so amazing that I'm now a cookie, Susie Cakes, cupcake girlie! These were just the right amount of sweet, yet full of flavor. So soft and moist and not too much frosting! The staff and service is always great! They seem to enjoy their jobs, always friendly, smiling and ready to help! My favorite bakery so far and I've been too a lot!

Came from Sac and stumbled upon this place. Lemon cake was the BEST!! Their lemon cupcake was also so good. As well as their vanilla cake slice. Their chocolate chip cookie is also so amazing and yummy. The people working are kind and giving and friendly! Better than the rest in LA!!

We just stopped by this location to pick up a tasting kit so we can try out different flavors for our wedding cake. Henry made the process so easy and he was such a delight! We’re so grateful he made this process as seamless as possible despite the crazy holiday traffic. Thanks Henry!

Well that was yummy. We had the cupcake sampler before but had a whole cake this time. Probably could have eaten the whole cake in one sitting. This one was delivered and was still perfect.

Nice and clean place, but I wasn’t really impressed. The presentation was lovely, but the taste didn’t quite match the expectations. It’s okay, but not something I’d go out of my way for.

This past week was nonstop with back to back meetings, long hours, and a very special celebration on Friday night for a dear friend’s 39th sobriety birthday. A colleague at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles recommended SusieCakes, and I’m so glad they did. I ordered the 9 inch carrot cake online the day before the dinner and arranged for it to be delivered to the restaurant by 5 PM, knowing I would not be available to manage anything that day. Not only was the carrot cake the hit of the evening—it was moist, perfectly spiced, and beautifully made—but the delivery was seamless. SusieCakes coordinated everything flawlessly. I did not need to call, confirm, or worry. It just happened. That kind of reliability during a hectic week was a gift in itself. Thank you, SusieCakes. You made the evening extra special.

It was amazing. They prepared cakes for our friends wedding and they were delicious!!!!! A huge hit from all the guests. And their gluten free cupcakes were amazingly delicious as well! Wonderful and so full!

Great place for dessert. High quality and delicious. We ordered the six-layer chocolate cake and it was perfect. Moist and succulent, with multiple complementary shades of flavor in every bite. The service was very polite and knowledgeable. They were prompt with providing assistance and overall empowered a great experience. The location itself is relatively unassuming from the outside, blending with the surrounding stretch of La Brea. The interior, however, is starkly appointed and appealing; designed for pick ups rather than an extended stay, the front end appears clean and makes good use of the space. Would recommend. Their mobile app has some quality deals available, so keep your eyes open there.

We just placed an order for our wedding cake. Irvine was amazing! He shared his favorites with us and we were able to try different flavors. Honestly, we still had other cake shops to visit, but it was his attentive service that made us decide and place an order on the spot. I can't wait to receive our cake so I can show the pictures. I will say that that every flavor we tried was delicious. We had the marble, vanilla with buttercream, red velvet, and lemon cakes. The place is super clean and very well lit. The cakes look beautiful in their display cases, and the staff look amazing in their pink bandannas. Anyway, Irvine you are a sweet angel and thank you for making our decision simple and our experience fantastic!

Annoyed with online ordering. I ordered two cake slices and 4 cupcakes. Out of the requested and specific online order, I received two of the 6 requested items correct. My group of friends ended up not eating what was delivered as the order delivered was not what they wanted or liked. So basically wasted the money. If out of items, call the customer.

We are frequent flyers here & it's always top tier sometimes we just stop by for a quick slice! So good

SusieCakes literally never disappoints. I've preordered birthday cakes from here in the past and they are always such a hit. The staff always has it on time and can even write on the cake there if you need. They're all super nice and they recommended me to join the rewards program so I'll definitely be back! The frostings are so amazingly creamy; no matter what flavor of cake you get it's sure to impress! i love to just come in for a treat every once in a while. they have slices of cake, cupcakes, and cookies available. they're super cutely decorated for st. patrick's day! i got 4 cupcakes and oh my god i might be eating all of them in one night! definitely a must try

I can't even tell you how sweet Joe was today! It's good service that keeps people coming back. I will definitely be ordering some stuff this summer as hostess gifts! XO

Can't believe all the times I ate from here, I never reviewed this place. The treats are incredible! My favorite cupcakes are the upside down pineapple and peanut butter.

I recently got the seasonal pumpkin maple cupcake for my free birthday treat, and OMG so yummy! The pumpkin cake was moist, with a delicate crumb, and not overwhelming spicy which I prefer. The maple frosting adds a lovely slightly caramel-y sweetness without being overpowering* (of note, I took off about 75% of the frosting as I do with nearly all store-bought baked goods I eat because it's too much sugar for me). As I mentioned it is seasonal so get it before the end of the month! There is parking in the back although I can't speak to how much (I just saw a sign indicating such.)

Ordered the thank you cupcakes around 5:30 PM and was able to pick up by 7:30 PM with no issues. I can't comment on the taste of the cupcakes since it was a gift but the service was great -- very friendly staff. On the pricier side but makes for a cute token of appreciation.

I bought a red velvet cake for my coworker's birthday the other day, and everyone loved it! What's not to love? The cake was perfectly moist and not too overwhelmingly sweet. Plus, the crew at Susie's Cake was delightful and helpful- Susie's Cake will always be my go-to bakery!

*Katelyn* was an ABSOLUTE credit to the success of a joint birthday party for my partner's mom's 75th birthday and my 40th! It turned into a surprise ENGAGEMENT!!!! *Katelyn* was attentive, caring and MOST importantly, HUMAN during our consultation while picking out the perfect cake(s) for what became an evening to remember! Our interaction with her was so touching that my partner and I left in happy tears (neither of us cry easily!) She even sent a personalized card with the delivery! Above and beyond!

For my daughter's 18th birthday, we wanted Susie's Cakes, of course! For our family, No other cake can beat Susie's Cakes' moist and delicious cakes! We visited the shop at Marina Del Rey and as we walked in, we were greeted by a very nice and friendly host, Brandye King. She was so kind, helpful and she definitely exemplifies Susie's customer service culture. The other staff on the other hand, were a little timid and barely paid attention to the rest of my family as I was talking with Brandye. No worries as Brandye made up for it. Though we were picking up at the La Brea location, Brandye offered to take our order and saved us a drive to La Brea! She is truly amazing! We ordered a 2 tiered 6" & 9" top layer was old fashioned chocolate cake and the bottom was red velvet. I wanted a naked texture and Brandye showed us what it would look like and even offered guidance and tips on how to add fresh flowers on the cake. Day of our event, I picked up this beautiful 2 tiered cake from the La Brea location. I was assisted by Tanner and he was so nice, friendly and approachable. He made sure to secure the cake to keep safe during travel to our venue. La Brea location was beautiful, clean and easy to get in and out of. Everyone loved the cake! The chocolate had a rich yet delicious chocolaty flavor and the red velvet... well, that will always be our fav! Delicious and moist cake! Thank you Brandye and Susie's Cakes for a memorable and beautiful cake for my daughter's special day. You will always be our #1 choice!

SHOUT OUT TO SUSIECAKES I AM IN LOVE WITH MY ORDER MY FRIEND LOVED HER CAKE!! Service was amazing i was helped right away, yes the cake was a bit on the pricey side especially for the size but it was a custom so it's okay. Had to add on Rm from BTS with Koya the colors were a bit off but they still managed to make it look so cute im in love with it!! It was a vanilla filling/ red velvet cake. It had the right amount sweet and was not dried up cake very great!!!

The cupcakes and cookies were SO delicious, but what really made our visit special was Tanner! He was so incredibly kind and helpful. He is a 5 star employee

My most favorite cake and cupcakes ever. I'm always looking for reasons/excuses to go to Susie's this is my new favorite location :)

I can't stress enough about situation where you forgot about someone's birthday and need a cake same day. I've been to Susie Cakes many years ago and thankfully I saw they are delivering through Uber eats. All it took calling them and asking what flavor they could send out and whether they are able to write "Happy Birthday" on it. They took good care of me and made my friend soooo happy on her birthday! I call that top notch customer service. Thankful!

I had ordered a cake for my coworkers last day. My order pick up was at 5pm. I walked in and noticed my cake wasnt in a refrigerated place, it was just on a rack. I dont know how long it was out there but it did not look good. I usually go to the sherman oaks location but i was in this area and decided to just try this location. But never again. The cake fell apart just on my 40 minute commute. No thanks. Im glad this wasnt for a big gathering or it wouldve been embarassing. I was never disappointed by susiecakes, its one of my comfort foods but i wont be back to this location to say the least. I just dont understand why have someone order 24 hrs ahead and set a pickup time if its just going to start melting of course in this heat ....

My sister ordered 2 pieces of cake for my birthday and they ended up giving me the wrong order. Not only did they correct it, they gave me an extra cupcake for my inconvenience. Btw I got the red velvet cake and carrot cake. They are . Great service great cake!

Consistency :) Everytime I ordered a cake I knew exactly what to expect. I appreciate this. Cakes are always good & cute. I wish their gender reveal cupcakes would have more frosting in the inside :/ otherwise this place i truly enjoy

Service is great. Seems like everyone is happy to be there and I don't blame them. I'd be super happy too if I was surrounded by delicious cakes all day. I prefer cupcakes in general but my husband loves the marble cake. Also we always pickup a chocolate cake to bring to dinners or as a small gift for clients and friends. It's on the pricer side but I really think it's worth it, you can really taste the quality.

Came 5 minutes before closing and there was a line. Tried the coconut cake and I liked it but the frosting makes it very sweet. I'd like to go back for carrot cake. Service is good and your cake is carefully boxed.

Favorite bakery for birthday or holiday treats in LA! I've been going to the original Brentwood location since I went to school nearby YEARS ago and love that they've expanded to so many cities and states now too! Love their two sizes of cakes, the six inch is always usually our go to for birthdays and their cupcakes and cookies are so good. Sometimes when I feel like eating something sweet, I just stop by for a cake slice. They say the cake and cupcakes are best served room temperature but the chocolate chocolate cake is SOOOO GOOD when it's cold!!!! Like my favorite cake flavor ever, it tastes like fudge when it's cold. We get a big cake for two of us and save the rest in the freezer for leftovers for days! Lol We use susiecakes to celebrate every occasion and they never let us down!

Updating an old review. I had a pineapple upside-down cupcake today and it was truly the best thing I've ever had. SO GOOD.

I had a very pleasant experience at this store! Tanner helped me pick a cake which was so delicious! He was very kind and helpful! The store is decorated beautifully and all of the cakes looked amazing! We got the red velvet one and it was so creamy and delicious! I recommend!

Popped in today as I usually do around my birthday for a treat. The service here is second to none, the staff is always friendly. I can't get enough of their birthday, carrot and tropical coconut cakes. They also make a solid chocolate chip cookie! Nice work y'all!!

I love the carrot cake try the red velvet also very moist cake each slice comes is green box leave it in the box do not put it in the refrigerator it will get hard the cupcakes are okay unfortunately they don't taste as good as the cake the oatmeal raisin cookies are delicious and I love the taste and size of the Brownies. SusieCakes get 5 stars for this review simply because somebody over there is paying attention. Today in celebration of Black History they rolled out a special cupcake themed after Uncle Nearest. The great thing about food is it can be used to interpret culture. Many know about Jim Beam whisky but people are coming to learn it was actually produced in the antebellum area by Uncle Nearest. His famous recipe has become embraced as a superior whisky. Anyway, it was great to see SusieCakes jump on the opportunity to create and feature the product which by the way is very tasty. One thing about SusieCakes that those not familiar will experience is they are known for homemade style cakes. In other words they are a bit more dense than your traditional cakes but that is their trademark and the cupcakes are made with a great cake, infused with a small taste of Uncle Nearest and the result is a quality product. Supplies are limited so please call the location near you to make sure they are available.

Yummy treats, but the gender reveal cupcakes had a very small amount of pink icing on the inside. We had to take multiple bites to get to the filling for the surprise.

Came was moist, made correctly and delivered on time. Will definitely order from them again.

I went to Susiecakes located at 328 S. La Brea, Los Angeles, CA. 90036. My daughter was celebrating her 35th birthday. I ordered: 1 slice of celebration cake $8.45 1 slice of carrot cake $7.45 1 red velvet cupcake $4.75 All items were STALE. What a disappointment. This bakery was recommended to me. I will be calling the bakery when they open at 11:00 to share my experience. I am truly dissatisfied. My daughter was so hurt that her celebration cake was STALE.

Ok, so i was craving a slice of Vanilla cake with American Buttercream but when I walked in the Chocolate cake was taking to me! I asked the associate for her opinion and she said Chocolate. She described it being very moist and chocolaty. So I followed her advice and took it home. Let me tell you, You will need a glass of milk because it's so damn good. It gave me old school cake box devils food cake but better! Home made from scratch, so moist and Fudgey! Highly recommend this bakery, super clean and organized, they have pre made cakes in display if you ever need to buy a cake on the fly as well as assortment of cute cupcakes and cookies. Catelyn and crew displayed pristine customer service and truly went above and beyond for me. There was a pretty major last minute issue for an engagement cake we'd ordered to be delivered by a third party service. Although it wasn't SusieCakes fault whatsoever, they absolutely rectified the problem and handled it flawlessly. It makes me proud to have the bakery as my go-to for anything celebratory. Susie cakes has been a party stable for over 10 years at our house! We have tried our way through all of their cakes and cupcakes and really enjoyed them all! They are just as tasty as they are beautiful and the services always excellent! They take custom orders within a day or so as notice, excellent last minute option! Their prices are fair, everything is always made to order fresh. Also ideal for last minute occasion cakes as they always have plenty in stock and can write on them for you in store. Highly recommend it!

So I am in my 50's my birthday is 12/12, and I really really want a cake that tastes like a "Hostess Susie Q" I just spoke to two different workers at this bakery, and they didn't even know what a Susie Q is even though the name of the shop is called Susie Cake. It's not rocket science it's a chocolate cake with a particular frosting. Very disappointed in this place.

Excellent service and the cakes are always fresh. Must try the bday cakes n cupcakes. It is quick and easy n have different flavors. Overall the ambiance is great.

My very fist time at a Susie cakes shop, on la brea for a birthday cake for my daughter 12th birthday, and I got a really sweet employee help me out. I'm pretty sure he said his name but I was amazed by the service he gave me that I missed it. The service was fine, the cupcakes on the other hand were dry and tasteless.. the strawberry was the worst by far , but 6 out of 6 cupcakes I purchased today were really bad! Dry and just not worth the money at all!! I am giving them 1 star because there isn't an option for less

The cakes were great but I especially loved the chocolate chip cookie. Would definitely come back when I'm craving something sweet. :)

I come here all the time to get my red velvet cupcake. I entered bakery and there we two workers Joe who is a doll and miro (not so much) I stood by the register as another costumer comes in. Miro addresses him for his order, not even realizing I'd been standing there this whole time. Joe ofcourse came to the rescue which is why I'm giving 5 stars. Otherwise I'd give it 2, that was terrible customer service. Come on susie cakes, someone needs some serious training

My boyfriend surprised me with Susie's Classic Marble Cake for my birthday and it was such a delicious treat! The cake is beautiful and classically decorated. I've been a fan of Susie's and love their Red Velvet cake. This cake was also delicious, I love the chocolate chips inside! It almost tasted like Cookies and Cream. My only complaint is the chocolate frosting on the sides was way too sweet for my liking and I had to scrape it off. The frosting on top was perfect and I was able to eat that with no issue.

Wowowow! Susiecakes is so, so delicious! Unfortunately, I love desserts :( Normally my go to is ice cream but I was in the area and have always wanted to try Susiecakes. They seem to have all the cakes they make available by the slice which is great. Celebration/confetti cake was really, really good. Would definitely order it again. That is my go-to when it's on the menu. Also tried the tropical coconut cake which was also good. Overall, I would definitely recommend you try it out. They also have larger round cakes that would be great for birthdays or special occasions.

Let me tell you their cupcakes are delicious. My mom brought home a box and they didn't last a day. That's how good they are. I ate their chocolate cupcake and even before I started eating it, i knew it was gonna be good because the frosting tasted excellent. Well, I have a sweet tooth so I know everyone's opinions will be different, but the cupcakes are very delicious let me tell you that. If your ever in LA, check them out please.

SusieCakes has become a staple in LA - one of the more known bakeries out here as well, and that's with good reason. Their baked goods are nothing short of delicious! On my last visit, I ordered cookies and cupcakes to drop off to the nurses that helped my father at the hospital (shoutout to all the nurses out there). The baked goods are definitely pricier than a generic bakery, but you get what you pay for. Besides, there's a name behind the product you're buying. They are very good about COVID-19 measures - they allow one customer at a time only while the others have to wait. Then once you place your order, you're asked to wait outside again until your order is ready for pick-up. Parking is found on the streets, so just prepare to spend a few quarters for parking.
