First, as far as I know, this is the only place at Lex which serves fried mushrooms, which I love! It’s juicy and delicious! We also ordered tenders which were a bit over fried. The pizza was good though. They were late in bringing the starter bread. They originally forgot and we asked them to bring. Then, they brought after 3-5 minutes. Generally, I dint like the atmosphere. The tables are placed really closed next to each others and the lights are not good at all.

Collin is the best!!! I’ve visited several times now, as he recommended by far one of my favorite Vegetarian dishes. He goes above and beyond across the board! My food, always right on the money. Best quality service and food, so much, I keep coming back! On my birthday, Collin really touched my heart. I love his Spirit! Thank you!!

Pepperoni pups are delicious, bread is just enough to get you primed, Lasagna is devine, chicken gorgonzola has amazing flavor, and the garlic bread has the perfect amt of garlic and cheese. The chocolate cake is a little dense and rich but good, definitely share it!! Definitely recommend. Ash was a fantastic waitress as well!

Our goto Italian place. Love it here. Food is always excellent.

Google
This place is amazing. The staff greeted us and were very attentive. The food was amazing and I had plenty of it! I had the chicken broccoli pasta with cheese and Alfredo sauce and my husband had the steak. We were very pleased and will most definitely be eating there again!

Google
Excellent choice for Italian food, The group I was with had fried mushrooms, fried banana peppers and pepperoni pups appetizers, I had the Sutton's Lasagna with a salad🥗. It was very delicious! The service was outstanding. Their menu has many choices including steak🥩, pork chops, salmon & I would highly recommend.

Our server Danelle was our server and she was great. She offered ideas on the menu she thought we would like.

We arrived late In afternoon when restaurant was not busy. After we stood at the entrance for about 5 minutes someone came to seat us. Not sure if he was the usual server or manager, but he was nice. Our drinks had little ice in them and I guess we drank fast because we waited a little too long for refills, especially when the main course was out. On a positive note most of the dishes were pretty good. I expected more olives etc in the Chefs salad but there was a good portion of meat in it. Bread was crisp and soft inside, dipping oil was bland but we added more pepper. Sandwich was more like Subway than a restaurant style sub. Mushrooms were perfect and the stuffed pepperoni ball was an interesting surprise. Overall some minor improvements needed but nothing major. Bathroom was clean and smelled really nice and the restaurant ambiance was fun to look at.

Yelp
This restaurant has a great location. The food and service are better than most and their hot Italian sandwich is my favorite.

Yelp
We had our company business meeting here today during lunch. There were 7 in our group. Ashlee was our server and she did great taking care of us. We ordered the Baked Stuffed Mushrooms and Fried Banana Peppers for our appetizers. Both came out hot and fresh. I had the Philly Dip and Fries for my lunch. They were good. Everyone enjoyed their lunch and the service was great. I forgot how good this place was. We hadn't been here in years. Total bill with tip was around $120 for 7 people. That's a great deal.

Yelp
I was really disappointed. I walked in and after waiting 10 minutes a guy walked up and asked what I needed and I said well I'd like to get a seat so that I can get a meal and he's like you have to go to the bar to order to take out yet the restaurant had people sitting and eating. Not sure if the dining room was now closed or what the guy really wouldn't go into more detail so I left and went elsewhere. I will not try coming back again since this guy in the blue T-shirt was so rude today.

Yelp
This is one of our go to places. I have never had a bad meal here. My go to is the meatball appetizer and cheese bread. The meatballs have a wonderful flavor and texture, and the cheese on their house bread is amazing. Service seems to be coming back from the COVID slump, these folks are well trained and hard working. The vibe in this place is different from the bar, dining room and patio (during the warmer seasons). All are good and welcoming. I will add that they have a great French Onion Soup, if I can't decide what I want found dinner, the warm hug of this soup is one of my "go-tos".

Yelp
Yesterday was my second time into Sutton's within the past few months, and I should say it's been consistent. The appetizers were so good. We shared the fried banana peppers and the bang bang shrimp. The banana peppers had a unique but delicious flavor and were served with a horseradish sauce. The bang bang shrimp were crispy but sauced with bang bang. Our waitress was very friendly and attentive. I ordered the Shrimp Alfredo which was some of the best Alfredo I've had in a while. My husband ordered the Baked Chicken & Broccoli and raved about how delicious it was.. The dining area was clean and had a nice vibe to it. We will certainly return!

Yelp
We arrived before they opened and they opened on time and greeted us with friendly smiles and good natured banter. After sitting for a little while at our table, I found it be cold in this restaurant. It was 40 degrees outside but it felt like the A/C was on inside. I went back out to my car to get a sweater because my coat was too heavy to wear and eat. There are many interesting photos on displayed on the walls all over the restaurant. The theme seems to focus mainly on the Prohibition Era which I found very interesting because I like history. I ordered the Philly Dip Sandwich with Au Jus and their signature Horseradish Sauce which thankfully came on the side. Being able to dip a traditional Philly cheesesteak sandwich in Au Jus was outstanding. I loved it. The sandwich was served with potato chips which seemed to be homemade. Pretty good. She ordered the Chicken Philly Sandwich which came with grilled mushrooms and banana peppers. The peppers were melted in with the cheese. She loved her sandwich even though it was a tad dry and would order it again.

Yelp
I really like this place and tonight did not disappoint. It's a solid choice for family Italian and it's not a chain. Locally owned and Gordon, the owner, is always there working hard and making sure that the operation runs well. I like it.

Yelp
The food is fresh and really good. The staff is nice and the vibe is interesting. This is one of our go-to's for almost 10 years now!!

Dedra H.

Yelp
Our server recommended an entree as it was our first visit. Food arrived one hour after we were seated....and it was the wrong meal. I was polite and told them not to worry about changing it. Server was relieved and told me how much she appreciated my patience and that the manager would comp the meal. After waiting 15 minutes for the bill I find that he comped 25% off of a 24.00 menu item. The original meal I ordered was 21.00.

Julie O.

Yelp
Consistently good meals and service! Our server last night, Colin B, was personable, efficient and offered great suggestions!

Yelp
Love the food! Wonderful staff! A nice ambiance! And easy access to park and walk in and be seated all in a short amount of time!

Yelp
The food at one time was pretty good but unfortunately they've backslided quite a bit. I understand it's hard to be a owner of a family restaurant these days. However, this place is ok for the usual clientele but I'm not taking guest there. It's just too ordinary in food, service, and decor. Need to work with servers in area of pleasant hospitality. There's never a good excuse for inferior service.

Cam U.

Yelp
Poor service. Only 3 tables with people at them. There were 3 servers working. The worker with a cast on worked a lot more than the other 2. One of the kitchen workers came out to the table that the servers were sitting at. Our server started playing with the kitchen person putting his hair in a pony tail. Then proceeded to come to our table and asked if we needed anything. My husband asked if she washed her hands and she just gave us a dumb look. Whoever was the host that night saw what the girl was doing The food was below average. Won't be back.

Michael F.

Yelp
Highly recommend this place. The service was amazing and our waiter Colin was top notch! We will definitely be back. Food was also very good.

Yelp
I enjoyed lunch at Suttons. I like that they have a lunch menu ($10 or less) with some of their pasta dishes in smaller portions. I did have to ask the server to bring this menu as we were first only provided with the regular menu. I tried the Chicken Parmesan. It was very good and the lunch portion was the perfect amount for me. Service was good. I really like the decor and ambiance as well.

Yelp
After being on the road for 13 hours, we stopped on Sunday night to stay at a hotel in Lexington, KY off of I-75 exit # 104. As weary travelers, we just wanted a quick bite to eat, and thankfully the hotel recommended Sutton's. The owner's daughter (included on the menu cover photo) served us, and was glad to tell us about their family restaurant and their specialty food items. She was just a super-nice person, and even took the photo of my sister and I with her and her dad (who happened to stop by for a late dinner himself). We enjoyed talking with him and hearing more about the menu and where they go to get their food and ingredients. We ordered the chicken parmigiana. Even though it was the end of the evening, our meal was delicious - we loved the Italian sauce and pasta. We could not have had a better ending to a long day, and we will definitely come here again on future driving trips to and from Florida. We would HIGHLY recommend Sutton's !!

Yelp
Stopped here while traveling and it was SO good! Homemade "Pepperoni Pups" for starters and flatbread pizza to close the deal! Hubby had a garlic steak pasta (can't recall the name) but it was divine. Great service as well! Will stop here again!

Sally S.

Yelp
Friendly, knowledgeable server, delicious and plentiful food and drink. The free bread is totally lackluster although the olive oil and herb mixture was yummy. No dessert for us, but enough food to take home for another meal. Our server recommended the Hot Brown when my husband asked which was better it or the meatloaf. He was not disappointed.

Paul N.

Yelp
I just left and our meal was delicious. Service was excellent, and the place was clean & tidy. Our waitress was great, our meal slipped off the big tray as they were bringing it through the crowd, nobody's fault, nobody injured or got food on them. She apologized profusely. Staff had it cleaned up and gone in minutes. We were worried we'd have to wait a while for new food but within 10 minutes we had piping hot replacements. Management and staff couldn't have done better on a busy Friday night and we will definitely be returning. Thank you Suttons!

Yelp
We were seated quickly and received drinks and bread quickly. The ambiance was relaxing and nice for an after work dinner. We got shrimp and meatballs for appetizers, both were delicious. I got the hot Italian beef, it was good. Overall a good dining experience with great service. Will come again.

Yelp
Best Italian on door dash. Food is excellent packaged well, order is always correct worth the price.

Yelp
Love this place!! Always yummy, never disappoints! Please pay a visit to them, you won't regret it

Yelp
Good food, good service, good value for your money. The Italian margarita is awesome. I especially love the chicken Parmesan - lots of chicken, lots of pasta and good for a meal there and one or two times if you take the rest home!

Yelp
My wife and I were looking for someplace to eat that we hadn't tried or that we'd not visited recently. We considered Guiseppe's, as we were in that part of town, but I wasn't in the mood for upscale and expensive (although we like it for some occasions). As we drove around, I thought of Sutton's, since Italian food was on our minds. She had never been, I hadn't been in a decade, probably. BUT, I figured, they're still around. They must be doing something right. And, they are! The interior was a bit different than I remembered... casual, a bit dated, broken up into a bar area with high-tops and TVs and a couple of different dining rooms. It was about 8 PM on a Saturday and most of the dining room tables were full. A good sign. The staff was friendly, greeting and seating us promptly, at a comfortable corner table. We ordered a glass of wine and a beer, quickly served. She ordered Eggplant Parm. I got the Italian Meatloaf. The meatloaf was delicious! A nice portion size on a bed of mashed potatoes, topped with a blend of peppers, tomatoes, etc. Good mix of flavors. My wife enjoyed her dish, as well. And, the check was around $70 with tip! It's not fancy, but the food is good and there are a lot of options! Note, they have an outdoor patio which was close, of course (January). I've sat there before, long ago. It isn't the nicest ambiance as it is in the middle of a strip mall parking lot, but it's a nice patio if outside is your preference.

Jeremy W.

Yelp
you can blind fold your self, throw a dart at the Menu and you will not be disappointed! I haven't had anything that was not amazing. The home made dressing on the Wedge salad is Divine!!!!

Alex T.

Yelp
We havent been to Suttons in awhile. They had a bone in pork chop on special, my son decided to give it a shot. I never order pork chops, all the places I've ever been to could never season them right or do a proper temperature. This was a large marinated and flame grilled pork chop, seasoned and cooked perfectly. Top 2 chops I've ever had. We also had the chicken parm and pasta a la vodka, which were also very good. Kudos, the staff was very friendly, the owner came to our table to make sure everything was to our liking. Will he back!

Yelp
Where everyone knows your name. Devan our bartender knows what she is doing. The signature drink "GummyBear" is absolutely like the candy. It is both delicious and dangerous. Gordon runs a small Italian eatery and the menu is pub style but delicious. The atmosphere is homey, rustic and mobster. Definitely a place you feel welcome to throw back a few drinks, hang out and feed your belly.

Jordyn J.

Yelp
The service was great. Waitress was very nice. The food was very bland. My fiancé and I both ordered the Alfredo and it was just so bland. Maybe their other food is good? This is just what I tried myself
google avatar

Tony H.

Yelp
Very friendly staff and homemade ingredients. Price very reasonable. Nice private party room. Even top notch h bocce ball twin courts !

Joan G.

Yelp
The service was wonderful and a slightly loud vibe with being homey and welcoming as a family owned restaurant. I viewed on the walls warm portraits throughout. I wanted something different so got the pork chop. What a wonderful thick chop with a special flavor. After eating lite TV dinners at home my husband wanted comfort food & choose the meatloaf, delicious & plated well. Stuffed mushrooms appetizer as well. We've driven by and so happy we gave it a try. I can't wait to return for some pasta specials!
google avatar

Tamika J.

Yelp
I was pleasantly surprised with my meal at Sutton's. We ordered wings as an appetizer. We had half hot and half dry rub. The hot wings were great, but the dry rub was flavorless. I ordered a philly dip that was good, but if they cooked the onions more it would be better. I did not see the green peppers in the sandwich. Maybe because the onions were so big. Overall, good experience. Next time, I have to try the bread pudding.

Yelp
I ordered through DoorDash, delivery to my hotel. The mussels were amazing. The Manzo pasta was advertised as spicy, but spoiler alert, it wasn't. It was just OK, I was expecting a little kick/something better. The most disappointing part was I didn't receive the chocolate mousse I ordered. I was given a Caesar salad with vinegar dressing instead. The receipt for the second bag didn't say door dash on it or any identifiers, so it was a restaurant issue. In addition, there was not an option to order plastic ware, plates, or napkins through DoorDash yet the receipt said no plates or napkins or silverware. Of course I want silverware, napkins, and plates, dummy! I'm in a hotel. I wouldn't order to go from here again.

Yelp
I have been going to Sutton's to eat for years... probably close to when it first opened in Lexington. It is my Cheers! I have tried almost everything on the menu but I never thought about eating a steak there. My boyfriend and I chose Sutton's for our NYE dinner and he said he was getting a ribeye. I was hesitant, not because of anything other than it's not a steak house. Well last night I was proven wrong! The ribeye was large, cooked and seasoned extremely well! And to add to this excellent service, the cook came out to get our thoughts. Well I can say I will never go to any other place for a steak in Lexington EVER again! Sutton's is special because you often see the owner there and he is never hesitant to check in with his customers. We opted to belly up to the bar and watch football. You may opt for the dining room but I feel the bar area is very intimate. I've always received excellent service at Sutton's...the food is always great. There is a private room which holds about 20. This is the perfect option for a party and at a lower cost than you find other places in town. We have actually decided to hold our small wedding in this room. So EVERYTHING can't be positive right? Well the only negative I have is that the bread pudding needs more bourbon sauce. What can I say...I'm a Kentucky girl!

Vale S.

Yelp
Great music, excellent service by Jamie and yummy food. American sized portions which I love because leftovers! We had the Gorgonzola pasta -a house special, and the eggplant parmigiana. Both were great. Of course Jamie offered us extra parm. The eggplant was nice and thick with a great crust and the Gorgonzola sauce was just right. Recommend!

Melissa R.

Yelp
Had their eggplant Parmesan. The Alfredo and flavor of the eggplant was very tasty. My only complaint is how thick they slice their eggplant, I prefer a thin slice and these were very thick.
google avatar

Brooke E.

Yelp
The Eggplant Parmesan was absolutely delicious. Great atmosphere and great service. Definitely recommend.

Yelp
12/20/20 I came here with my date for dinner after church, as we both haven't been to this restaurant in a while, and wanted to try something different. Upon entering, you must wear a mask as the staff is wearing theirs, and once seated you can take it off. I'll never understand this method but they're complying with the covid rules. There's no dividers but they do space you out far from any other tables. I ordered the mussels appetizer as my main dish, and my date had their French onion soup. The food was good, but not enough for me to come running back. I've spoiled my taste buds and had better quality mussels elsewhere. Also, my date didn't enjoy the French onion soup, was disappointed in the bland taste. Overall, the experience was good, our waitress took great care of us and we took care of her. Unfortunately, we were told the bar was open until 11pm but it actually closed @10 pm with the entire restaurant. I'll come back here again to try one of their many pasta dishes, whenever I'll be in the mood for a carb filled meal.

Christine M.

Yelp
Stopped by for a cocktail on a Sunday afternoon. Owner was sitting at bar conducting a telephone employment interview. Totally inappropriate. Doubtful I will go back so I guess I will not be able to try the menu.

Leigh H.

Yelp
Our waiter and food was great. The cocktails were pretty good. The music was too loud - definitely not fine dining or romantic atmosphere.
google avatar

Jeff G.

Yelp
The bartender was on the phone for 8 minutes. When she got off she apologized saying "It was the owner and she couldn't just tell him to wait". Huh? will only say if I was the owner I'd want our customers to come first, they pay the bills, not me. Then there was our missing reservation, not that it was needed (wonder why) but it should have been noted and was nowhere to be found. 2 Stars for food was "ok" at the price point.
google avatar

Yelp
First time here , came with friends Dena and Anthony, had the scallops and it was amazing, wife had the Ravioli and said it was Deeeelish The sangrias are ridiculous good This is our new go to !! Thanks Gordon
google avatar

Evelyn H.

Yelp
I had a seafood pizza delivered. There was no spice or green onion as described. I live down the street. The $17 pizza was cold. Go figure. What was really funny was the 2 tablespoons of bread pudding.
google avatar

Wendy D.

Yelp
Ordered pizza, French onion soup, all beef sub and bruschetta. All were delicious. Only reason didn't give 5 stars due to heat/spice in a couple dishes. I should've paid more attention. Delivery was easy and it was nice to relax indoors since storming. Would definitely order again.

Francia2 2.

Yelp
Calamari at midnight, why not? Italian wedding soup, mussels, pasta, tiramisu everything I have had is amazing plus the steaks are some of the best in town. I love this place and how they are open late. This spot is a true must do when in Lexington

Betsy U.

Yelp
How can an Italian restaurant be out of Fra Diablo gravy? Gravy is Italian!! Bread was a bit better than a store bought hot dog roll and not sliced. Service: 2 Server did not have hair tired back and kept using her hands to.push it out of her way; entrees were handed across the table ; we were never offered cracked pepper, fresh Parmesan cheese; when asked if they had red pepper flakes the server stated ' I'm not sure'. Poot, inattentive service, food was eh...fair at best. Don't call yourself authentic Italian because you are nowhere even close.

Rylee S.

Yelp
My first experience at Sutton's was certainly one for the books. Upon our arrival, freshly baked bread and a delectable olive oil embodied with delicious herbs and spices was brought to our table for five. Our waitress was extremely knowledgeable of the menu selection and was able to make some wonderful recommendations. One guest with my party ordered the Pepperoni Pups as an appetizer and all we could say was WOW. Everything that is fried at this restaurant is hand breaded. NOTHING FROZEN or PRE-MADE. I ordered something new on the menu as my entrée, the Sonora Chicken Pasta. This dish was a penne pasta tossed in southwest queso sauce with blackened chicken, black beans, diced tomato, and scallions. I was intrigued by the idea of this unique combination and I must say it did NOT disappoint. The owner, Gordon Lewis was absolutely over the top incredible. He checked on our table several times, made connections with each individual, and sought to ensure we were pleased with each individual cocktail, appetizer, entrée, and dessert! He even gifted our party a FREE dessert! Nothing but mouth-watering, pure goodness for the entire party! It's rare one goes out for dinner with a group of friends embodying such different tastes and walks away with a 5 star review from all. We will, without question be back to this restaurant to enjoy yet another delightful meal. Thank you Gordon and Sutton's staff. We were highly pleased and even impressed.

Yelp
"Bad meatballs, bad pizza, bad pasta, bad service." -Suttons. My girlfriend and I had a terrible time

Kenzie B.

Yelp
A few things, one being that I have never eaten here before and I never will again. Me and my significant other arrived at a non busy time of day, got seated quickly, but waited for over 20 minutes before a server even came to get our drinks. With that being said, we placed our order and waited even longer. My boyfriend ordered a side of mashed potatoes and before he even ate it we noticed a hair in them. Absolutely disgusting. I would not recommend eating here.

Monte C.

Yelp
I ordered spaghetti and meatballs delivered by Door Dash. The order arrived with no meatballs. I ordered during a slack time, they weren't even busy. They just have dip$hits preparing their orders. Will not order again!
