"Small batch ice cream shop Sweet Alchemy opened its third location in Chophouse Row recently, taking over for fellow hyperlocal ice cream specialist Kurt Farm Shop, which closed in December. Sweet Alchemy sources ingredients from area farms, and has recently been in expansion mode, opening up a second location in Ballard last April." - Gabe Guarente

Just ok- the ice cream doesn’t taste very rich and is quite icy in texture. Molly Moon’s and Salt and Straw are better and taste more premium

I’m new to the neighborhood and have been checking out all of the different ice cream parlors and this one is definitely my new go to. It can be tricky to spot at first but once you see the large “Shop The Alley” sign you just will follow that. Not only is their ice cream great but the baked goods are great as well. Can’t wait to go back later.

Great service, amazing ice cream and sweet treats. Bryce is awesome in his service and super helpful with his knowledge on ingredients and products. Got the dark side ice cream and monster cookie and both are delish.

Love, love, love this place! There's not many places to get a ice cream cookie sandwich but Sweet Alchemy definitely does it the best! Because of COVID, you can't really sample flavors but I can guarantee that all of their ice cream is great and tasty. If you want to try multiple, you can get a cup and scoop a few flavors in but if you're bold like me, commit to one and throw it on with some cookies! I'm a big fan of the Darkside, Earl Grey and Makgeolli flavors, enjoy it in the hidden gem that is Chophouse Row!

Had a late dinner at Bai Tong Thai Street Cafe. Which was wonderful. I thought we were done for the day when the kids said how about ice cream? Lol I can never say no to ice cream. I said well if there’s anything close by. Luckily for them google found Sweet Alchemy Ice Cream. Little gem tucked away in a lighted up alley. Limited on choices. Nothing like 31 flavors at a Baskin robins. But that was ok. They made it up with their unique options. Kids were happy and definitely enjoyed what they ordered. We had 15 minutes to order before closing time. Yet the gentleman at counter did not make us feel rushed. We had time to chat and found out he went to college pretty close to where we live. Small world! With that said it was a nice way to end the day, the ice cream was on point and satisfied our tastebuds plus customer service was great!

Small and cute store in a cool and hip setting. They have delicious ice cream in unique flavors, some are vegan. The server is very nice and friendly.

Super good ice cream. Loved the blueberry lavender and the Sakura. I will note, some of the flavors are a lot more subtle. It's kinda an artsy place and they have their merits for sure, but if you're just looking for really tasty normal-ish ice cream I might lean towards the darker and fruity flavors. As someone with a sweet tooth I personally appreciated those but the others are all quite good if that's what you're looking for.

Genius flavors (so unique), and great service! Really interesting… we got thai tea, lemon curd pie (think that’s what it was called? vegan flavor), and gingerbread. Gingerbread and thai tea were out of this world. Make a stop if you can find parking!!
