"This modern bakery with its popular creme brûlée donuts also serves modern mooncakes: ube with sweet potato, cheese, custard, and a deluxe sweet and savory version. Inside a sweet, flaky crust, find a mix of red bean paste, salted egg yolk, and pork floss. They’ve available for walk-ins at both Flushing locations and pre-orders (by phone at 646- 559-0999) in the East Village." - Caroline Shin

I definitely recommend going to sweet cakes for some scrumptious desserts. I loved their mango cream puff that they had! It was light, airy, and very fluffy. There was a lot of mango flavoring in it! Also the portion size was really good for the price. The service was also good, the workers were polite and informative. The store was also pretty big and had sufficient seating. The decorations were very minimalistic and nice as well! Rating: 9/10📝 Price: $4.63💸

Google
Genuinely confused because we came in last week 1/4 to order a strawberry birthday cake to be picked up 1/12. I paid full price and left. Found the store through little red book app and all their strawberry cakes has lots of strawberries and big white fluffy cream. However, come 1/12 their strawberry cake completed changed their appearance. There’s 2 total strawberries on ours (CUT IN HALVES???, with inclusions of other fruits we did not ask for. My sister in law loves strawberries and that’s why we ordered it in the first place. Very disappointed. We should’ve been notified if the appearance changed. Very unprofessional. Never again. Piece of advice for future customers, don’t order in advance , you never know what you’re gonna get. First 4 photos were what we asked and saw in the store day of. Last 2 photos were what we got …

It was a very special day for me. My boyfriend and I celebrated my birthday by visiting this place. It’s located at the same block where we stayed (The One Boutique hotel Flushing). We thought the tiramisu cake could have been a little stronger in flavour. The peach mango cake was alright. Our favorite was the taro milk drink. It was very delicious! It was a perfect place to celebrate your birthday with your loved one. It was not so crowded, there were only a few teens hanging out after school. Definitely a nice place to chill and simply reward yourself with some sweet treats 🎂

My 5 yr old and I visited here and absolutely loved it. We ordered the cheesecake and strawberry sweetheart cake, both were delicious! The staff was also super friendly and the atmosphere was very warm and welcoming. We will definitely come back the next time we are visiting NYC!

Google
Got a black sesame basque cheesecake and taro cake. The taro cake was light but hard to discern the flavor, but it does have that gritty texture associated with taro root. The black sesame basque cheesecake tasted amazing, there was a bit of a hard crust on the outside but I didn’t mind that much since it was good anyways.

Google
Liked the service and the aesthetic vibes of the bakery. Tried brown sugar taro cake, taste was good, not too sweet and flavor is just there. Little expensive for the size of the cake slice. Not a place where you come back to spend $10 on a small cake slice that often.

Google
It's not easy to find a quiet cafe in Flushing... But this café is really quiet. In a normal weekday afternoon we could sit here for an hour with lots of empty seats 😚 The dessert look very tempting but a bit pricy. We ordered sesame Basque cheesecake (which seems been sitting in the display fridge for long time... so taste a bit wield and dry 😣), tiramisu (taste OK). The dripped Italian coffee tasted very awful (sour) which I really regret to buy that. The service was good. They also gave us two small cookies for free.. The cookies tasted the best 😜... Maybe because they are freshly made. I went home to check the Google reviews again and noticed the café gave out free gift if you give them 5 stars in the Google reviews (that was back in a year ago)...No wonder there were so many reviews with 5 stars in the past. I think the dessert should taste good when they were made freshly... And I could see each cake was made very beautiful..

Google
super amazing barista and staff!!!!! that experience it the best! cute cafe and would come again super friendly and seemingly clean place cakes are cutely decorated and come with all the candles and plates you need. affordable price with it being 38 for a cake that can serve 6-8 people came across this place by chance and i recommend! ♥️ only thing is that the cake i picked up for sesame earl grey and didn’t taste earl grey at all. wish it had stronger flavor. could only taste the black sesame. otherwise, all good tho

Yelp
The tea was so tasty I ordered a tiramisu not like it But doesn't mean I should write a stupid 2 Start review just for that Just because one item is not my favorite Service is very important So a sweet delight Young beautiful lady Overdue my spectations Weing I hope I said right Thanks

Yelp
Everything is as pretty in person as it appears online! The Taro Vanilla cake nails the "sweet but not too sweet" flavor. Very natural, I would say, and tasty. It is nearly $10, but as I was eating it, it did feel larger than I had anticipated, so I wouldn't mind getting it again or trying another flavor. The Hot White Peach Oolong Tea is a light drink as well. I wish it stays warmer for longer though. The ice definitely cools it all down, but I'm not sure if that's my ordering mistake. The cafe ambience is perfect for a study session or friend catch-up during my Sunday evening visit. The service isn't the most hospitable during my time and the main, if not the only, reason I'm not rating 5 stars.

Yelp
Sweet cake is a very clean and nice cafe. They have big clean tables and also tons of outlets. The girl who helped me was super nice and attentive. She did not rush me and let me explore. It wasn't busy at all, but she was very welcoming. Prices are decent and desserts are delicious. I took off one star because the cake fell apart in transport. The cake is mostly soft cream so it's very easy to fall apart. I loved the way they boxed the cake. Maybe next time I get different cake that's not as delicate. The cake was very good. Their desserts are beautiful and tasty. Not very sweet which I prefer. The creampuff wasn't as good as I thought it would be. The filling tasted more like taro filling than ube. The shell was crunchy but tasteless. Next time I'll probably try their other cakes.

Yelp
I was trying to look for a dessert spot, and I saw this. Sweet Cake offers Asian-inspired pastries and drinks, including cheesecakes and bubble tea. I ordered the Oreo Basque Cheesecake & Yakult Cheesecake. The cheesecakes weren't overly sweet, making it a pleasant experience. Staff was welcoming. Whether you're hanging with friends or on a date, this is the spot for delicious desserts.

Yelp
Stopped in for a new year's cake and they had so many to choose from that I was actually overwhelmed. I thought they would have a whole cheesecake with unique flavors but I didnt see any. I opt to get the taro cake. The cake was nicely packaged and came with a cutlery kit. Surprisingly. the cake was very moist and tasty with gold flakes too!. The taro did not taste artificial at all and it actually had chunks of taro. I also liked that it was not too sweet. I will definitely go back and try the black sesame and earl grey cake.

Yelp
This is a cute café/bakery on Northern Blvd. right off of Main Street. They have a few tables inside for those who want to dine in. I thought the desserts were a little on the pricey side and I saw one dessert with a price point of $11.99...yikers. Considering, I can get a slice of cake nearby for around $8, it may not be the best value here. I found the service was friendly. Their selection of desserts seemed limited but perhaps it was because of the time of day which I went - around 4:30p. They also didn't have a menu posted up anywhere where I could study their drinks to decide what I wanted. I had to decide the minute I got to the register because that was the only place where they had a menu! The double layer chocolate cream cake was good but the purple cream puff was not my favorite....tasted a bit like matcha cream which is usually a bit too chalky for my liking. One thing I did love was the clear/transparent cake boxes they had for people who bought whole cakes....so nice to be able to see the cute designs of the cakes!

Shirley Z.

Yelp
Ordered a 7inch taro cake for my grandmas birthday for $38. Pick up was super smooth and it looked amazing! They didn't write the words directly onto the cake but did write it on a notecard which I inserted into the cake. The fruits on top looked great and the flavor was not too sweet. Strong taro flavor and overall this cake was a hit for everyone! Will be back to try the other flavors!

Yelp
I stopped by here on a Saturday evening at around 7 pm and I was absolutely charmed by the place! It was very spacious and quiet, with a few people studying and some chatting. I was greeted by a sweet lady behind the counter and took a look at all the cakes and pastries, which were all very aesthetic and had unique flavors! I bought a sesame basque burnt cheesecake ($~11) and a strawberry yakult cheesecake (~$11). Since I bought two cakes, I was able to get a free smoothie, so I ordered the mango yakult smoothie. I took these all to-go and they provided the cutest bag, which both cakes packaged individually and securely. I tried both cakes when I got home, and really enjoyed the flavors of both! I liked the sesame cream and the mochi bites on the sesame basque cheesecake. The strawberry of the strawberry yakult cheesecake was fresh, and the cake itself was very light, not too sweet. The mango yakult smoothie was also delicious, though it was more of a slush than a smoothie since it was pretty icy. I saw they had an ube cream puff but it was sold out when i was there, so I plan on come back another time to try it! Plus, it seems like a sweet study spot with lots of space and outlets.

Yelp
If you happen to be walking around near Northern boulevard there is a nice little dessert shop across from the town hall. They specialize in different cakes. The cafe itself has only a few tables that mostly fit around 4 people though the seating will allow for 1 or two more if you want to squeeze in with a large group. However this cafe is mostly frequented by old people drinking their coffee. The cakes that I have tried feature half cheesecakes and cakes like a duo if you wish to call it. The cakes are slightly denser to support both types of cake yet very soft. The frosting is not too sweet and the cakes are not overly frosted. We tried the strawberry and the mango ones and you can tell they use fresh fruits. It comes in a cute box if you do take out and want your cake to go. They also have assorted baked goods on the counter you can also purchase to bring home. The best course of action when coming here is to order a bunch of different slices and share so you can try all of the flavors. It is also pretty quiet here if you want to do some work and not as much foot traffic so you could stay here awhile.

Yelp
Cafe specializing in less sweet cakes and desserts. We shared a taro cake. Light and fluffy. Definitely a pillowiness to it. Almost no sweetness to it which was refreshing to me given the over abundance of added sugar at many other shops. Service was very quick. Typical cafe atmosphere.

Yelp
Stopped by Sweet Cake to work and get some dessert after our lunch. The cafe was quiet, spacious, and clean. We ordered their sesame cheesecake and sesame Boba cream puff and it totaled to around $17. The desserts were super unique, infusing asian flavors like sesame and ube. Presentation was nice and service was prompt. We preferred the cream puff over the cheesecake since it was less sweet. Overall, I highly recommend stopping by Sweet Cake for dessert and studying with friends. There are outlets stationed under each table, making it easy to charge while studying. Absolutely a hidden gem of a cafe.

Yelp
I stopped by here on a Friday night around 7pm and it was quiet but very comfortable -- this place has a bomb korean chill playlist going on that I'm enjoying while eating my black sesame basque burnt cheesecake and drinking the jasmine green tea that I ordered. The staff are nice and service was quick. As for the food, the burnt cheesecake is pretty good but not my favorite out of other cheesecakes I've had. However, it's very unique and every bite has a different type of flavor (not only black sesame) and it's been interesting to eat! The jasmine green tea is yummy- I got it hot b/c I wanted something to warm me up, and with sugar at 70% (but 50% probably would've been better for my tastes). There's outlets all over this place and if I lived nearby, it'd be a great place to get together with friends or to do some work from home. Overall a nice vibe from this cafe, and I'd come again if I was in the area!

Yelp
Space wise is relatively big for a cafe in Flushing. About three blocks from Main Street/7 train (still not too far away) to say the least. Right across the street from Flushing Town Hall. Best of all, it's a very short walking distance for me from my home to Sweet Cake. Staff will immediately greet you as soon as you've walked through the door. That fridge display of vibrant cakes and delicious cream puffs is just so mesmerizing to look at, wondering to yourself what you should order and chow down. Has quite a lot of seats in the seating area on the side and towards the back where there lies a very clean (I mean spotless restroom) for customers to use. Love that there're plenty of outlets to charge your phones/devices either underneath the seats or on the wall. Ambiance wise is very warm and homey like an outdoor patio with wooden seats and tables. You order at the front and then they call the # on your receipt, sometimes the staff might even bring you the tray of treats to where you're sitting. The atmosphere is cozy and inviting. You can sit for hours without being worried that you'll be shooed away. Extremely fast service from very friendly staff. They accept Apple Pay besides credit/debit card and cash. Price wise ranges from moderate to expensive depending on what you decide to get like a sliced or whole cake. I have ordered an iced brown sugar boba milk tea (tried asking for no ice to get my money's worth but then staff said it would have been just milk foam....so no, you can only get it with less ice if you really don't like ice in your drinks...epic fail). Accidentally forgot to adjust the level of sweetness while looking at the delicious cake display, so turns out that I've ordered it with 100% sugar instead of half the amount in the end. It is in a huge plastic disposable cup though, so at least you'll get lots of sips out of the drink. Even without full sugar but because there's the brown sugar syrup, I think it's already sweet enough. I'll have to remember to adjust the sugar along with the ice level when I go back next time. Love their qq-textured boba, it's been cooked to just the right amount of chewiness (not too hard and not too soft or slimy). Also got an ube brown sugar mochi cream puff and a sesame earl grey chiffon sliced cake. Moving on to the taste test, the crust pastry of the cream puff is far too soft for me. In other words, it crumbles up way too easily imo. I didn't even use a lot of pressure (just by holding it gently) and the crust already cracks/falls apart. Therefore, I think it would be a good thing to improve on the texture of the outer crust. However, I truly admire the rich and creamy but not heavy ube filling of the brown sugar cream puff. Additionally, it's not overly sweet either which is a huge plus. The sprinkling of the tiny mochi pieces have added the perfect final touches to the cream puff like a cherry + icing on top. Other than the crumbling texture, everything is great on its own. As for the rectangular sesame earl grey chiffon sliced cake, there's a lot of aromatic sesame flavor in between each of the evenly-layered sesame cream filling. You can see that they've also added edible gold flakes as decor + as the highlight on top of the cake. It's not very overwhelmingly sweet unlike the desserts from typical American bakeries. I feel like all the sweet treats from Sweet Cake would be great to pair off with a cup of coffee for a quick treat, as desserts or for a cheat day breakfast. I mean, you gotta treat yourself once in a while lol. Can totally see myself going back to this cafe more often now from time to time whenever I'm not off to Manhattan and staying in the Flushing area. Sweet Cake is certainly a hidden gem! The sweets are creative, delicious, and visually stunning. Plus, their desserts have that perfect balance of flavors. Definitely a great spot to satisfy your sweet tooth! Until next time!

Yelp
Despite its name, the desserts here aren't very sweet which can be a good or bad thing depending on your personal preference. We came around the end of the day on a weekend and it was pretty empty besides one table. We ordered the ube cream puff and slice of ube cake which was nicely presented. For the cream puff, I was pleasantly surprised that the choux was still crisp, but both the puff and cake lacked actual ube flavor. I would come back and give the other desserts a try and revisit the ube later on. If you're dining in, their tray return is hidden out of sight near where the restroom is. Note: They have a $10 credit card minimum.

Yelp
Bought 3 slice of cakes , taste ok . I ate one of the cake in the afternoon and vomited in the middle of the night . It happened two times . Food poisoning. Don't buy their cakes .

Yelp
Sweet Cake is a cute dessert cafe in Flushing, Queens, known for its delectable selection of Asian-inspired drinks, cakes, and pastries. We came on a rainy Memorial Monday for their cheesecakes, though, sadly, their cake display was more empty than full. * Ube Brown Sugar Mochi Puff $5.50 I haven't had a cream puff in forever and this sounded really good. I don't know why I thought there would be brown sugar mochi inside, but there wasn't. Either way, it was delicious. The crust was thin, crispy, and crumbly, the mochi soft and chewy, and the cream puff was filled to the brim with light and airy ube cream. Best of all, the ube cream was rich and creamy, yet not at all heavy. * Strawberry Yakult Cheesecake $11.99 If I'm gonna be honest, if there was any Yakult, we sure as hell didn't taste it. That said, the cake was cute and aesthetic. The cheesecake itself seemed to resemble a classic New York-style cheesecake-- with a buttery graham cracker base, rich cream cheese filling, and sweet blueberry jam. Meanwhile, the whipped cream, strawberries, and edible gold leaf appeared to be more for decoration than anything, but I loved the minimalistic touch. * Mixed Berry Smoothie $7.75 * Lychee Yakult $6.25 I didn't try any, but my sister and my partner both agreed that their drinks were fruity and refreshing, albeit a bit too sweet. They did ask for no sugar and half sugar, respectively, though, so maybe ask for even less?

Yelp
I definitely recommend going to sweet cakes for some scrumptious desserts. I loved their mango cream puff that they had! It was light, airy, and very fluffy. There was a lot of mango flavoring in it! Also the portion size was really good for the price. The service was also good, the workers were polite and informative. The store was also pretty big and had sufficient seating. The decorations were very minimalistic and cozy as well! Rating: 9/10 Price: $4.63

Yelp
Desserts were all delicious and pleased the eyes! Love the sesame earl grey cake, a perfect balance of nuttty flavors and tea flavors, light while satisfied the sweet tooth. Taro cheesecake, creamy cheesecake layer with an earthy taro layer at the bottom. Favorite, pineapple cake. The shortbread crust was buttery, crumbly with moist and fibrous pineapple filling.

Yelp
Very cute spacious cafe. I loved it. They have lots of unique desserts which are as photogenic as they are delicious. The staff was so sweet and offered to hold my dessert until I left so it would be preserved better. Tiramisu was great as well. I enjoyed it and will visit again very soon.

Helen M.

Yelp
Not much choices to choose from but i caved and ordered a cup of tiramisu. which I'm glad I did, Chocolate Dream taste just like a petite cakes, but the outter chocolate shell was to thick to cut thur it. I was move afraid my friend stabbing it and having my cake fly across the dining room lol. honey citrus. It's good but just tab bit watered down My friend ordered a earl grey black sesame cake and a drink. All i could say was she was HAPPPPPYYYY!!!! Definitely coming back to sweet cakes. Sweet cakes is definitely a good place for just a sit down place or you just want a nice quiet place to concentrate.

Yelp
Firstly, we really appreciate that they allow dogs since it was so hot and humid outside, it really helped to cool him off. We came here twice before. First time we bought cakes as takeout: the cakes had unique flavor options and it tasted pretty good, pairs very good with tea but they are quite pricey ($9-$13 a slice). Second time we stayed in with our dog. We got the sparking coffee which was ok, coffee flavor is diluted and I don't get any sparking. The imperial lychee jasmine slush was yummy, it was sweet but not too sweet. The ambiance is nice and chill so it will be a nice place to chit chat with friends or get some work done. There is bathroom, which is a must for me (coffee makes me go, if you know what I mean). There is also free WiFi for customers only if you ask the employees for the password.

Yelp
Quick stop here as we were getting groceries for Christmas day. This was a spot that I had marked down after hearing about it from a friend. We didn't get too much, but we got a milk tea and a black coffee, as well as some pineapple cakes. The service was quick, and the workers were really attentive and answered our questions. The cakes were a gift, so I can't speak to their flavor, but the milk tea was delicious. It had great tea flavor, something that I find so lacking at many other milk tea spots, and they were true to keeping the sugar and ice levels at my preferred choices. The black coffee was really strong, which was coming from someone who regularly drinks multiple black coffees a day, so that's something to keep in mind. Overall, I like this spot and definitely want to come for the desserts!

Jahnavi U.

Yelp
This is a lovely dessert shop with cute Taiwanese style desserts. The staff were friendly and the service was good. We ordered a sesame Boba cream puff ($5.50), strawberry yakult cheesecake ($11.99 - pricey), Taro cheesecake ($8.25) and mango yakult smoothie ($7.25). The desserts weren't overly sweet, which I liked. The only thing I would say is that they were pricey. It's a nice treat to have one in a while. This dessert spot was a 7 minute walk from the restaurant we dined at last Thursday. Thank God for that because after we left this dessert spot, it started pouring and we ran to the car. Lastly, I heard they will be opening a second location in Manhattan soon. I'm looking forward to checking it out.

Ruby C.

Yelp
Sweet Cake has been on my radar since its opening, and now I regret not trying this spot earlier. * Sesame Earl Grey Chiffon Cake The sesame flavor really stood out, while you can still taste the earl grey glaze on top throughout every bite. Even though the pricing is aggressive comparing to other bakeries, the slice was so huge that we were already stuffed after eating this cake. * Mixed Fruit Sparkling, Orange and Pineapple Smoothie Don't sleep on their drinks! We were amazed by the refreshing and natural sweetness of fruits. The smoothie had a great balance of orange and pineapple juice. I was sure that they used real fruits because I could drink orange seeds and peels lol. Remember to ask for less sugar! * Strawberry Yakult Cheesecake The cake looked cute and aesthetic. The outside seemed to be simply whipped cream, and the inner was blueberry cheesecake. Perhaps I'm not a fan of cheesecake, I found it quite bland and lacked excitement. The yakult flavor could be tasted in the cream layers but nearly invisible. If they charged $11.99 I wish they could put more strawberries in it. * Ube Mooncake, Cheese Mooncake, Pineapple Cakes We were excited to redeem two pineapple cakes (鳳梨酥). Their owner even treated us extra free ube and cheese mooncakes! I really enjoyed the ube mooncake as it has sweet potato filling sandwiched in between.

Scott K.

Yelp
Mango cake was amazing. Friendly service, pleasant atmosphere. Was the perfect ending to our afternoon.

Lingxiao C.

Yelp
I really want to like this place because their Asian desserts are more on the modern side. The black sesame cheesecake is good - has solid black sesame flavor and isn't too sweet, but it's really, really dense... The texture and flavor becomes too cloying after a few bites. The rest of their items are rather overpriced imho, especially the ones sold individually, like the pineapple cakes.

Alisa B.

Yelp
A decent bakery off the beaten path of Main St. They have a lot of tea, cakes, and pastries to offer. Recently, they blew up on TikTok for the Sesame Boba Cream Puff! I came here late night after dinner and the owner was nice enough to tell us a little bit about the menu. This is what we ordered: + Lychee Green Tea Cheesecake (3/5): This was okay. It tasted similar to an elevated Uncle Tetsu cheesecake, but the lychee and green tea didn't come through in flavor. It was very muted and subtle in taste. I did enjoy the texture though! + Strawberry Moment (4/5): The layers! The flavor! Strong fresh strawberry taste! This was a great slice of cake. Classic combination of strawberries and cream. You really can't go wrong.

Anna L.

Yelp
Desserts look so pretty but they are a bit expensive. I had a mango cake and chocolate cake. The mango cake was nice and light. I really enjoyed it. Not so much for the chocolate one. It has as hard outside layer of chocolate crunch but inside is yellow cake with a lemony cream. The passion fruit tea drink was average. Go with the mango cake.

Samantha C.

Yelp
A quick pit stop here before heading back home to remote work. And what better companion to work with than with boba tea and pineapple cakes from Sweet Cake. Pretty much how boba should be. Their Passionfruit black tea was very good. Definitely happy I got less sugar as per usual. Boba was made perfectly. Bought two individually wrapped pineapple cakes and they were sooooo good!! Their other pastries and cakes look amazing. Some almost too good to eat. The scallion scones looked yummy too. Finally, as I was finishing paying in the tablet, I was given two pieces of nougat. Such friendly staff! I didn't realize how spacious it was in there and it would be a great place to work, but somewhat dangerous too. Not sure that's going to stop me.

Sandy T.

Yelp
Came here for some dessert. Nothing special about the drinks or dessert. The taro cake was okay. Not as moist as i would have liked and not enough taro flavor. The seseme cheesecake was okay. Better than the taro cake. The store has a decent amount seating. Service was okay. The drinks came fast.

Moeka S.

Yelp
Delicious delicious delicious!!! Loved the light chiffon cake, I could've swallowed the whole thing in one go because of how good it was!!!! Even the rose Ceylon tea had a nice pungent flavor with milkiness that harmonized the tea and rose flavor into one drink. I would love to try their other deserts and drinks next time!!! The staffs were very attentive and nice. It made sense why the place has such high review.

Shelly B.

Yelp
Stopped here late afternoon for some coffee and dessert and I loved everything about this place. I saw some people doing work on their laptops and some were even playing card games. This tells me that it's a place that people can actually hangout at and not feel rushed to finish their food or feel that they're going to get kicked out. We ordered the black sesame earl grey cake, strawberry pudding, peach mango pudding, coffee and milk tea. The black sesame earl grey cake was my favorite out of everything. The cake was soft and light and the filling was very nice as well. Everything was not too sweet and didn't leave you feeling heavy after eating it. Definitely want to come back the next time I'm in flushing to try new things!

Lena J.

Yelp
Sweet Cake is a cute bakery in Flushing. They have a selection of not-too-sweet, aesthetically pleasing cakes with Asian flavors. They have a really high rating on Google Maps (5 stars and over 500 reviews at the time of this review), and after visiting I can see why: There are signs throughout the store advertising a free gift in exchange for a 5 star Google review. I tried two items, and while they were nice (especially for fans of black sesame) they were nothing to write home about. For the quality, the cheesecake was a bit overpriced, and their "free gift for 5 stars" signs really dampened my enthusiasm. I tried: -Sesame Double Layer Cheesecake ($7.99) - quite light and fluffy upper layer. It's more like a cream cheese mousse than a cheesecake. The bottom layer has a strong sesame flavor. I liked that it wasn't too sweet. It seemed $1-2 overpriced though, especially for the size. -Sesame Boba Cream Puff ($5.25) - I liked that it wasn't too sweet, but I preferred the black sesame cheesecake. The sesame flavor in the cream puff filling is pretty strong, which I liked. The choux itself was ok in my opinion; it reminded me of Chinese almond cookies. The boba they added on top (after order) wasn't sweetened and had a good texture. Service is really friendly, and the shop is clean and has a nice ambience---it would be a great place to work or to hang out with friends.

Ceci C.

Yelp
I was lured in by the numerous instagram reels of this place, and it lived up to the hype! It's a cute dessert shop with a good amount of seats and outlets as well. The mango shaved ice was refreshing for a hot summer day, and they had cute little star shaped jellies in it! My favorite is the strawberry basque cheesecake though! Not only was it instaworthy, it was loaded with strawberries and not too sweet! My friend got the tiramisu and it was good, but about 80% of it was cream... wish there was more cake. Overall, it's a nice and cozy dessert shop! Can't wait to come by again!

Alex Z.

Yelp
I came to try their cream puff. They really don't disappoint. The black sesame boba is very creamy and topped with a lot of chewy boa. The mango puff has great citrus and mango flavor and couple mango fruits on top. When I arrived they don't have any cream puff left so I waited, the staffs are so friendly and tried their best to get them out fast. There are some seats available indoor, I noticed that the seating limited is 1hr. Only complain is that I asked for less ice for my drink but I still saw they filled up the whole cup of ice, otherwise I would give a 5 star.

Ingrid S.

Yelp
Came in here with a friend a few weekends ago for an iced coffee beverage. I'm not entirely sure what the name of the beverage was but it was soooo freaking delicious and sweet and creamy and amazing. I'd die for one right now. It reminds me a little of a less strong Vietnamese coffee so perhaps it had sweetened milk in it as well as syrup. Oh, it was just yum. We also tried these moon cakes. Which were pretty good. I liked the creamy yellow filling more than the mochi paste. But if I had more room I would have gone with one of their epic and exquisite desserts. She said they make one of the best tiramisu shes ever had in her life and their cream puffs are gorgeous as well as their various slices of cheese cakes and macaroons. Cute spot to catch up with a friend or probably do work in if you live close.

Yelp
Sweet Cake serves bubble tea (freshly brewed tea) and sweet treats! They have cakes, cheesecakes, pudding, cream puffs, etc. There have a place to sit, enjoy, and hang out with friends as well. I've tried the rose bubble tea 50% sugar and it was pretty good. I like the fact that the tea is freshly brewed and not a powder like other places! You have to ask for bubbles or it doesn't come with it. The pastries are just okay and didn't blow me away for the price. We got the basque cheesecake and strawberry pudding. I would not get the pudding again but the cheesecake was good. It was sweeter I would've liked. For this being called "sweet cake", I thought the dessert would be more of a "wow!" If I go back, I would try their other desserts and see. I'd recommend the Rose Milk Tea though!

Yelp
I heard about this place in a tiktok. The thing that blew them up (some sesame cupcake looking thing) was sold out so we got a sesame and passion fruit cheese cake. The sesame was very subtle in flavor and a little Smokey even. The passion fruit was VERY good and light. The cake is light and fluffy then there's whipped kind of cream cheese layer. I loved that these treats weren't too sweet so the flavors could really shine. They had cream puffs too that looked good. There's plenty of seating and they give you free samples when you walk in.

Yelp
A very cute and modern cafe serving up yummy teas and Asian sweets! I got the Osmanthus oolong tea (hot) and a sesame boba cream puff, which came out to around $12. The tea was a little bit too hot to drink right away, but in terms of flavor was amazing! Oolong tea with a hint of osmanthus' floral aroma. The boba cream puff was super unique and filled with a yummy black sesame paste - it was quite heavy but so good! The best part of my visit was the service - the lady at the counter noticed that my glasses were wet since it was raining heavily outside and handed me a napkin when I arrived, and then when I was sitting and eating my snacks she came around and passed out free pineapple cakes to each diner. What a gem!

Yelp
I did not get a free puff. I saw the high reviews and took a chance on ordering a cake for a friends birthday. I was very wowed by the aesthetics, interesting flavors, and gold flakes on the cakes. I chose the Oreo cake and what impressed me further was that they placed it in a giant tall clear box that made it feel like carrying a master piece. It was quite cumbersome to carry but definitely provided the wow I wanted from the birthday girl! The cake was extremely moist, soft, fluffy, not too sweet but still very tasty. Definitely the opposite of your Martha's. I thought presentation, price, and taste has really impressed me, the service I received from the kind staff is what brings it to 5 stars. You will not disappoint for someone's special day!!! If I ever have a celebration in Flushing this is my new go to place!

Yelp
A dessert spot on northern boulevard. Plenty of seating and great playlist playing the hit songs of Kpop haha - Lychee green tea cheesecake $7.99 - Great lychee flavor but didn't have much green tea taste. - Ube cheesecake $7.99 - Disappointed that there was no ube taste at all. - Sesame Boba Cream Puff $5.75 - Had lots of mini bobas and a great sesame flavor. Overall, a cute spot and the cheesecakes and cream puff I tried wasn't overly sweet.

Yelp
Very modern and clean bakery/cake shop in Flushing. It's a fairly new cafe. I saw this on Instagram and really wanted to check this place out because they specialize in black sesame desserts. I ordered the black sesame cream puff and black sesame pudding. For the cream puff, they add boba to the top of the cream puff after you order it. Total came out to be about $12 for both desserts. I really liked the cream puff; the cream inside was rich and the pastry and boba on top really tie the dessert together. The pudding was OK; it really had rich black sesame flavor but it reminded me of black sesame paste soup, which I'm not a fan of. Next time I want to try the black sesame cheesecake and basque cheesecake, but the price is pretty steep ($9-$11).

Yelp
The space is very nice. It's spacious and relatively quiet. The cakes themselves were just ok. Got the black sesame basque cheesecake and the tiramisu. The cheesecake was not too sweet which I liked but it was very dry. Tiramisu was 90% cream and i felt like money was wasted for just cream and a piece of vanilla cake the size of a nickel. Honestly would just come here for the quiet space. Also the manager(?) was very rude to the rest of the staff and spoke not so nicely to customers that needed a bit of time to order. Don't know if she was going through something?

Yelp
The place and packaging was cute, and the workers were nice. The cakes themselves are expensive, I paid $23 for two cakes. The black sesame cake was true to its name but the flavor doesn't work well with the cheesecake. I don't recall the name or flavor of the other cake, but it was pretty bland.

Yelp
Love the pastries, teas and fresh milk here. Everything always tastes fresh, homemade and their Taiwanese style desserts aren't overly sweet - which I love. Very clean and relaxing vibes- plus the service here has always been fantastic as well. Love coming here.

Yelp
Cute dessert cafe! The sesame boba cream puff was great, strong black sesame flavor. Tons of cream, I almost wish there was less cream and more puff, but it's definitely shareable dessert for 2 people, maybe 3. The worker was also nice and gave us free samples of their nougat (tastes similar to white rabbit candy) and chestnut ball. The chestnut ball wasn't anything noteworthy, and a bit dry)
