I wish I could give this restaurant more credit than I gave it. However, my food was cold. It did have some potential, but I felt like it would’ve been way better if I had my food at the right temperature. I don’t have anything else to say about this place. The server was very friendly and welcoming. Dont think I would be trying it again.

This was my first time here and I must say that I'll be back! It was very clean! The food was fresh! The prices were right! The service was friendly and speedy! No complaints from me! I ordered Doubles...

Very delicious plus biggest item. On the main the doubles, it make yourself returned to have multiple. Items. Very clean and fast service.

We came to Kathy's for their doubles, but we were convinced to try more of their food. We had the pork and the stew fish with cou cou and callaloo, and of course, I had to try their pepper on the side. Everything had great flavor and the pepper on the side had the perfect kick and great taste. We wil definitely be back. Its great to find a real, authentic Trini restaurant!!!

I’ve eaten quite a bit of Trinidadian food, but Kathy’s is different. Don’t let the “cafeteria” vibe fool you. The food is authentic and incredibly flavorful. The sautéed spinach with braised pork and fragrant white jasmine rice, Wow! The smoked fish with onions and peppers, the stewed mackerel with Coo Coo (think soft, creamy corn cake, almost like polenta) and callaloo. A lot of things I’ve never tried before (and I’m a foodie!). Chef/owner Kathy came out to talk to us about her food, what goes with what….very warm and gracious. Glad we checked it out.

Visiting Miami for the weekend we were invited by a friend to have lunch , we all had the cowheel soup. It was very tasty , made me feel at home . Will visit Sweethand Kathy’s again !

My first time visiting, i tried the Doubles. This was my absolute first time having doubles, and I must say i fell in LOVE with my first bite. The flavors were like a festival for my taste buds. Love Love Love, this will definitely be a place i visit weekly. Great customer service as well. 10 out of 10 Definitely Recommend. I pray this place is here forever wishing them nothing but success.

Let me tell you, this was some really great Trini food. I had a spinach rice with baked Mac and cheese with curry chicken. The restaurant had just opened so there wasn't much ready, I asked if she had any vegetables and she said no, but 1 minute later I heard and saw her cutting up some fresh produce in the back and she was making me a salad with avocado and cucumbers. Very thoughtful. And all of that for $12. Can't beat it

The service is horrible. Ordered a soup and waited 30 minutes and still didn't get the soup. Random customers just walking in and out of the back. I ended leaving without any food due to lack of service.

Drove 30 minutes in neck to neck traffic from airport after landing and arrived at 3pm only to find the place closed!

Long time customers. Delicious food all the time. We never regret buying here for lunch or dinner, especially around the holidays

Got a combo platter of fried fish with sauce, rice and vegetables. Very tasty and while spicy, the spice didn't overpower the flavor of the food. I also had the cream soda, which was very sweet and provided nice balance with the spicy food. I would definitely come back and try it again.

The food is fresh and delicious. Well made and abundant with love. You will enjoy your meal hear. The staff at the restaurant is very kind and we have no words for their generosity. Thank you for your help and support to our family during some of the world's most critical times. They did not ask us for any reviews but this is the least we can do to show our appreciation for your unfailing love through our hardships. I ordered 2 dozen beef pastelles, and they were awful. I have ordered in the past, when she was working from home and they were great. This time they lacked flavor and filling. It was all cornmeal with a teaspoonful of meat in the center. Ground meat is the cheapest meat you could buy, if cost is a factor, well raise your prices! People will still buy. Pastelles are not an easy thing to make, so you will find people will pay to have that piece of Christmas element. Another thing, train your staff to make the pastelles, it should not be all cornmeal, the meat should be distributed throughout the pastelles. Kathy, I am not the only one complaining, I just happen to be the only Yelper. Please fix this problem for 2018 Christmas. You have a good thing going, and we appreciate your Trini hand.

Deeeelicious! Kathy hand really sweet for true! Will definitely be recommending this place to friends and family. I had the rice with chicken, macaroni pie and chicken wings and I washed it down with a Peardrax...life is good

I discovered this little gem of Trini food today, and I am so happy to report that the food was great! Large portions and very flavorful, took me right back home! My only regret is not everything was available from the bakery, but I will be back for hops bread and sweet bread soon!!

I just relocated from NYC to Miami (aventura) and being that I was off from work I decided to look up if any trini spots close by. Sweet hand Kathy among others came up but decided to go with this one. Fortunately for me I went when they were giving free food which I felt so happy seeing I work in the ER and they were giving back given the pandemic. I was so happy I wanted to tell the owner I'm guessing her name is Kathy a face to face thanks. The food was sooooo good. Authentic trini food. Because of such a good experience and great food I am a customer for life. Thank you for appreciating my service and thank u for that tasty food.

Yes mon! Its sooooo good! Fresh authentic home Caribbean cooking!!! Fresh hops, sweet, breads, ginger beer, ting, as well as all the dishes we love!

The food is pretty good however whenever I went Kathy would never have the prices listed and would charge $15 and up for a regular plate of food. Not to mention her ATTITUDE stinks. Also, watch out during the holidays she will start adding on all these extra charges so pay attention. Other than that her black cake is delicious. Attitude is important to ME!

I've known Kathy's food for many years as a event caterer and lunch box caterer. Now she has a restaurant that exceeds the standards of restaurant quality! It's real down home cooking from the Caribbean. Come and enjoy and become a fan also!

Used to get food from her when she would cook from home and it was really good. Now, the food sits, she gives little portions and charges you an arm & a leg. Wasn't expecting that since we're loyal customers. My last time going there was when she had the nerve to give me an attitude. I returned home with my salt fish and bake and it was only a spoonful in there. I guess she added big tomatoes and onions to replace the fish cause it was nothing in there. Like come on now.

Just ok. Prepared foods sitting under aluminum covers then reheated. Not cheap either. The selections were meats and starch no vegetables the day I went.

Went to Kathy's for lunch , the food was very authentic and reminded me of home (Trinidad). What I love about this place is she cooks real creole Trinidadian food. Most Trinidadian restaurants limit themselves to Roti and Chinese but her menu consists of coo coo, callaloo , stew fish and a variety of creole options. Kathy is very friendly and her prices are reasonable. She also has fresh juices.

Excellent food, good music. Belly full. Worth the trip to enjoy the taste of Trinidad and Tobago.

As I am typing this I am feasting on the stewed chicken, mac and cheese, cole slaw and yellow rice. Great flavor great value and great service. I would suggest this to anyone looking for Caribbean food..... Oh yea and if you like hot sauce there's is unbelievable........... Thank You Kathy

Authentic dishes but too much sugar added to each item. Got to stop adding sugar to the dishes. Drop the extra sugar and everything will be good.
