To walk in stilettos takes guts
So I hold Barbi's hand while she struts
Her figure is art
But so is this tart
With custard, @Plano's Sweet Hut!
We came here looking for a treat
And Barbi to show off her feet
And her shiny high shoes
But you'll never lose
When you come to the Hut that is Sweet!
If it were full of Swedish people, it'd obviously be Swede Hut. And if it had a dirty floor, it'd be Sweep Hut. Whereas if it had no working AC, it'd be Sweat Hut.
Thankfully it's not.
What to get: Custard Tart! Yummm. The wife cakes. Free water. Free microwave.
What not to get: Taro Smoothie - very popular but overrated.
The best thing about Sweet Hut is the hours and the fact you can come in here at any given time and just hang out, do work, use WiFi, tons of people, lots of flirting, young people, older people, whatever you want. It's mostly kids from the nearby UTD, but it's eclectic.
Barbi always says, she wishes every city had Sweet Hut, where you could come, hang out, get pastries, get drinks, any time, all the time.
The downside is, everyone knows about it now, and it's even busier than the ones in Atlanta. No matter what time of day or night, you'll find it hard to get a table or chair or outlet, and some of the kids are very selfish (5 chairs, 1 big table, 4 outlets, 1 person, bags in all the seats, type thing).
But no matter. Let's rap.
Welcome to my studio, I call it the BEAT HUT
One of my balls is posh, the other is a STREET NUT
ATL is too warm, I'm stuck in a HEAT RUT
And I can't play golf cuz I have such a WEAK PUTT
So I go way up to Plano, trying to MEET THOTS
Put my window down and blast the RHCP's ROBOTS
Drop my tea and all my pastries, I'm such a TREAT KLUTZ
Better go back to get replacements from SWEET HUT
This chain is from ATL, and has 4 (I think, maybe more by now) very popular, wildly busy locations in the North Burbs there, as well as one right in the heart of Midtown too. I love the ones in ATL, especially for people watching, but lately, with Atlanta dying down a bit and Dallas coming up, this has become my fave location. It's packed with cute people and great for people watching. Or if you're a schoolteacher who brings his or her class here (mistake?), Pupil Watching.
I was excited to try the first-ever SH outside of Georgia. I've been to every single one in Georgia, and have reviewed them too, and even taken my cats there (Harley and Mochi, check the pix out). They are amazing places to hang out on a Saturday night, and after a tricky start, that has become the case here. As Atlanta has scaled back hours and become less of a late night destination, this location has slowly morphed into what Atlanta used to be, and it has become our go to destination in DFW for hanging out at night.
Now I need to get in bed, or as I call it, my Sheet Hut. And I need to get some Sleep Hut. While listening to No Doubt, Don't Sweet (Hut). And if you don't like this review, I don't give a Sheet Hut.
Also, my fave pastry here these days, along with the custard tart, is the lovely flaky wife cake, which isn't called that here, but you'll see it in some of the pictures, so you'll know which one to get.
Now I need to go and find my AC remote because it's getting a little Hut in here. Or I could take off all my clothes.
