Amazing bakery!!! I tried Cinnabon, blueberry muffin and apple upside down cake. 🔥outstanding! Freshly baked, the whole 2d street smells like heaven bcs of that bakery.

CASH ONLY*** surprised I didn’t see that when I checked reviews before going. Only had virtual wallet on me and was able to tap and get cash back at Chase down the street. This is a unique cinnamon roll.. not a sticky bun, definitely giving homemade reminding me family holiday buns the grandma made. I regret not getting the walnut version because it’s just so soft and saturated in a syrup that reminded me more of yellow cake lightly cinnamon pancakes? Hard to describe but different than any cinnamon rolls I’ve tasted. Definitely would go back next time I have a sweet tooth to try the cakes and cookies. Smells so good when you walk in.

A must stop while in the area. A wide assortment of delicious cakes, cookies, brownies, and other treats. Everyone in here is so sweet. I even had a cake delivered to my boyfriend for his birthday and requested they decorate it the best they could, and they were kind enough to add sprinkles and a birthday candle. Love this place!

so so sweet, rich, and dense, but it's more for cake-lovers here, the "fudge" brownie was still rather soft and fluffy at the edges. the frosting's slapped on real thick and it kinda had that artificial tang to it, making the brownie like an upgraded version of those sugary grocery-store bakery items, in a good way.

We were just walking around Belmont shore doing some bar hopping when we stumbled upon Sweet Jill’s. It’s soooo rare for a bakery to be open until MIDNIGHT so I was shocked by this to start! There were a few couples in line who are locals and they recommended the cinnamon bun. We also ordered the German chocolate cake , churro cheesecake & pumpkin muffin. OKKKKK. So the cinnamon bun WAS A 10000 out of 10 recommend have to get it. Best cinnamon roll of my life it was insanely delicious I can’t even describe it it was so good. I also loved the pumpkin muffin (which was recommended by one of the employees) my third favorite was the German chocolate cake. It was very delicious but very sweet and rich. I didn’t love the churro cheesecake but my cousin loved it. Def worth a stop. It’s such a cute spot and they have an insane variety of desserts. I love the cupcake bike rack outside, how freaking cute!

Little shop on Second Street in the shore that has been around for ever. Day or night you cannot escape the enticing aroma of freshly baked goods and have to make a stop in. The place gets pretty busy in the evenings, but it's worth waiting for. We get the chocolate macaroons as they truly are to die for. Crispy outside, smooth inside and oh so flavorful! All of their baked goods are really incredible. REMEMBER! Sweet Jill's is Cash Only. You're welcome.

Sweet Jill's on 2nd Street is one of my favorite dessert spots when I'm craving something sweet. Sweet Jill's Bakery: A Long Beach Gem! Sweet Jill's Bakery on 2nd St. is a must-visit for anyone with a sweet tooth! I went in for their famous cinnamon rolls (they did not disappoint!), but I ended up walking out with a bag full of goodies. The real star of the show for me was the carrot cake. It was incredibly moist and flavorful, with the perfect amount of frosting. I also loved the coffee cake - soft, delicious, and perfect for a morning treat. Their cheesecakes looked amazing too, so I'll definitely be back to try one next time. My sister couldn't resist the rice crispy treat, and she was so happy she did! Unlike some rice crispy treats that can be hard and stale, this one was soft and fresh. We also tried the snickerdoodle and peanut butter cookies, both soft and bursting with flavor. It's no wonder this bakery has been a Long Beach staple for 37 years. You can really taste the love and tradition in their Swedish recipes. Highly recommend!

A lot of variety of cakes, cheesecake bars, cupcakes, cookies, brownies, chocolates you name it! We've tried a few different cakes and cheesecakes that were solid, but the cinnamon roll is by far the best thing they have! Warm, ooey gooey, soft, fluffy, sweet, decadent - truly the perfect cinnamon roll. It is QUITE sweet, but what do you expect from a cinnamon roll? We can only take a few bites a day and it's very sizable, so it lasts a few days. Still just as good a few days later - just pop it in the microwave to warm. Service is quick and friendly, and the interior is small but full of colorful tasty things. Always fun to see what they have when they walk in. If you're a cinnamon roll lover, look no further! Will definitely be back

Caramel apple, cinnamon bun and their personal mini cakes are my go to items whenever I'm around second street area. The smell of freshly baked cakes and pastries will definitely smack you right before you enter the place. Can't complain about that. The team members are friendly and welcoming. Definitely patient too waiting on people waiting to decide what to get since there are so much to chose from. Highly recommend after a hearty, greasy meal around or if you want sugar rush while walking along the area!

Whoa!! I never had such a sweet cinnamon roll...it was super super sweet. I didn't even add all the icing on it. It was fresh for sure...I enjoyed the fluffiness. I really wanted to take a few more bites, but I had to stop. I wanted to get other items, but I was worried that it would be extremely sweet as well. Few bites of the cinnamon roll was enough. Service was ok. I don't think I will be returning..

When you're crazing something sweet, this place has it all. Walked by earlier and just the smell at the fresh baked cakes and cookies was all it took. Didn't pop in right away as I was heading to grab something to eat but it was a definite afterwards. Right when you walk in, the fresh aroma of sweets catches your senses. The selection of cakes slices, cookies and desserts were amazing. Price wise, it ok but some could stay its pricey. The gentleman working was very sweet and patience as I was trying to figure out what I want. They all looked amazing. At the end, it was a slice of the coconut cake and raspberry cake of some sorts. They were amazing and fresh. Each bite was moist and fluffy so it must have been made earlier. It's a must if you're looking for something sweet to satisfy that sweet tooth. Heads up, it's cash only.

I dream of these pastries. My fav was the Oreo cheesecake, I couldn't get enough of it. My mom lived her carrot cake too. I would say it's weird that the cashier told me it was cash only and when I said I didn't have any on me and started to walk away he said he could take my Apple Pay.

This place was pretty busy for a Tuesday night at 8:45. All the baked goods looked amazing. The server suggested the carrot cake and the cinnamon rolls. I went with the carrot cake and it did not disappoint. A good place to get some dessert after dining at one of the many restaurants on 2nd Street.

Get the cinnamon roll! Do it! It's delightfully gooey. We loved it. There are so many fresh baked items to choose from. The scent will call you in from the street.

Staff is so friendly and always makes a great experience- the cinnamon rolls are my favorite - I have been trying a different sweet treat every visit- of course in addition to my CR with extra frosting- so far my 2nd fav is German Chocolate Cake

First time in here. I'd go back to try a red velvet cupcake or a pumpkin spice cookie as those looked pretty tasty. The portion sizes of everything was so big I left with just two items this time. Carrot cake - meh. Wasn't so much a carrot cake as a pineapple upside down cake minus the pineapple plus shredded carrots. The cake to frosting ratio was also off. For a slice of cake that big they should've made it two layers and put frosting in the middle. About the frosting - I couldn't tell if it was cream cheese or not. It didn't taste like buttercream, but I didn't taste any cream cheese either. I wouldn't get this again. Peanut butter brownie - delicious. Peanut butter to brownie ratio was on point here. Brownie was dense and chewy. The only way this could've been better is if peanut was baked into them instead of just spread on top. I would get this again.

Employees were very kind, and quick to attend to customers! The regular cinnamon roll is absolutely amazing, this is our new favorite spot for any sweet needs while here in Long Beach! We also got the chocolate marble coffee cake and tried the apple cinnamon roll as well- they did not disappoint!!

this is def an overdue review i come here regularly, totally thought i had a review! i only ever get the OG cinnamon roll here. i remember when they were $5!!! just a few yrs ago, now its $6.75, cash only and they dont put as much frosting on it. if you ask for a little extra its $$. BUT!! they do have the best cinnamon rolls, IMO they do also sell the cinnamon roll with walnuts a dated bakery. but offers really scrumptious sweets service is average there is a few seating options inside and a bench outside there is also a location in seal beach parking: metered street parking or metered parking lots

Popped into the best bakery for a little treat! They've unfortunately stopped carrying my favorite item (RIP chocolate chip brownie) but they were super helpful recommending a few alternatives close in flavor that I might enjoy. Ultimately we ended up pivoting completely and going the classic cinnamon roll (a must-have). I love the relaxed and welcoming feel of this shop. Overall love Sweet Jill's every time!

One of the Best Bakeries in town Chocolate Chip Cookie 10/10 - very soft - creat amount of chocolate chips - perfect amount of sweetness Carrot Cake 10/10 Oreo Cake 10/10 Chocolate cake 10/10 - cakes are very moist - large variety of options - great flavor - perfect amount of sweetness I have tried a variety of their items and none of them have let me down. This bakery provides a large variety of baked goods, you're bound to find one that peeks your tastebuds. Customer service is great! Jesus has helped me out before and he is very sweet. He was easy to talk to and even gave us his recommendations! All the workers have been so kind and helpful. This bakery definitely has a home-y vibe, makes you feel well taken care of.

As you get closer to the shop you can smell it. That sweet aroma is definitely in the air. Then walking in, it's honestly the perfect sweet treats vibe...like, it's pink and the baked goods in the cases are just so beautiful and aesthetically appealing. I feel like it would be a bakery shop they would use on a Hallmark film or something--simple and pretty. LOL. I feel like their most famous selections are the cinnamon roll and the carrot cake so of course I had to try those. The cinnamon roll is gooey and moist and most certainly a very sweet treat. If you don't want an overload, try sharing it...I don't know if I'm being a big sweets coward, but I would say you could easily split one of their slices between 4 people. Unless of course, you have a power sweet tooth game--then I say go for it and enjoy. :-) The carrot cake is delicious and I would most definitely get that again...if you love carrot cake as a general practice (like I do), I recommend giving this one a try. They also have other varieties of sweets to try depending on one's mood--again, if you have a sweet tooth, I'm pretty sure you'll enjoy most anything they have. On the opposite coin, if you don't really groove on sweet things, this place is not for you. The service is efficient, helpful and friendly. They prefer cash.

Came to sweet jills late Monday night. It was pretty busy here and it's no surprise. Their desserts are all a really delicious treat. The cinnamon roll was buttery, soft and fluffy. Also tried the carrot cake and that was just as good. Definitely recommend coming here for a sweet treat.

I've been to sweet Jill's a few times now and have tried something different every time. I will say the price just does not make it worth it. I always have cash on me so I don't mind the cash only rule but most of the pastries are $6+ and I'm a girl that's gonna wanna try more than one. I've had their cookie dough cheesecake (dense, wouldn't buy again), German chocolate brownie (just average), blueberry Bavarian coffee cake (ok), orange cranberry muffin (absolutely would order again).

This place simply is the best around. If you're lucky enough to cash the cinnamon rolls as they come out the oven don't hesitate grab one maybe grab two make sure they put that sauce all over that nice glaze. The staff is friendly. There isn't too much seating.

I bought 2 cupcakes. And honestly they're too sweet for my taste. I wouldn't order them since the pricing is expensive. They only accept Cash No Apple Pay, No Android pay, and Not even card payments. They do have an ATM in store though

I've enjoyed many treats here, but I got up really early to come get a walnut cinnamon roll for my daughter's birthday yesterday. I took it straight home, still warm. However, t was SOOO dry that she couldn't even eat it. I tried to salvage it, but couldn't. How very disappointing and a complete waste of money!

Sadly Sweet Jill's has not been serving the same quality it used to. My only guess is that ownership changed around the pandemic. Disappointed since it's been a family fave for the past decade.

The name say it all, "sweet" place for all the right or any excuses reasons. They got all the bake goods. I used to come here for years but after all the sugar rush die down and I moved therefore I paused. This week, it just about sweet things for me. This would be my #8 store in 4 days. I love the cookies here, especially snickerdoodle. You ca smell the bake goods from the street and it's irresistible to ignore the displaces of the goodies at the glass window, it just like calling your name to "come in and try me". The name says it all, they all are sweet (the older I get, it's getting abit too sweet for me) but once in awhile, it just hitting all the right spots. The staff/baker are sweet, friendly and honestly adorable. They do have seating area inside, which I call the "alley" cause it does look like it. Also a bench outside. It's a cute, colorful sweet shop for sweet things. The prices are reasonable and portion is huge. What more can you ask for. Yum!

These are the best cinnamon rolls I've ever had and I can't find any other place that tops these! They're huge and super delicious and they serve them every day unlike some bakeries that only do cinnamon rolls on weekends. They also have tons of other baked goods like a million different cakes and cookies and it's all good. The cinnamon rolls are a MUST though. Just note they only do cash so come prepared. There's a small atm inside but I think there are fees to use it so might be best to stop by your bank's atm first. There's seating inside too!

This is our favorite cupcake place on 2nd Street. And it's not just cupcakes! I love their chocolate cupcake with chocolate ganache, so rich and decadent it takes me a couple days to eat it. But I also love their brownies with different toppings. The s'mores brownie and german chocolate brownie are the best! Also super rich so just eating a quarter at a time is a treat. My husband had turned me on to the delicious cheesecakes. He loves the chocolate chip cheesecake, but I think I prefer the classic plain. It's a nice compliment to all the rich chocolate. Remember, this place is cash only!

The cakes are too thick. This is an inexpensive option if you're looking for dessert, so I would probably come back in the future but it's not mindblowing. They are cash only. Line moved quickly, and I didn't see anywhere to sit but I just walked in, got my cake and left.

After my classmates had told me about the cinnamon bun from this place, this bakery also popped up on my TikTok and Instagram reels. And after both apps were displaying Jill in all her majesty of cinnamon buns: I knew I had to go. I actually went pretty late so kudos to them for being a bakery open until midnight! I showed up around 11:30pm on a Friday night. The employee assisting me honestly looked so tired and ready to go home I felt their pain. But I made it worse realizing it was a cash only establishment and I only had my phone (Apple Pay everywhere I goooooooo) so I ran back to my car got some cash and came back. It was funny because they were so tired they took my money and we both stood there awkwardly like.... Okay what now??? and then they realized they needed to hand over the cinnamon bun. Hehe. hand over the goods!!! It was a laugh needless to say. I asked for a plain cinnamon roll icing only but walnuts are an option! It was warmed up and of course it was one of the best cinnamon rolls I ever had in my life. The dough was so warm and fluffy and the icing was just the right amount of sweetness!! sweet Jill!! sweet heavens!! ill be diabetic eating this every week!! it was honestly so good. think of that one ratatouille scene where Remy is trying cheese with his eyes closed and colors and good feels were happening behind him. That was me. eyes closed, eating, just "mhm" every 3 seconds. Also the establishment itself is propped on a corner and is quite small but it feels homey! Street parking is available. I will be coming back for you cinnamon roll!!!

Ooo La La! Dessert is their specialty! We love their sweets ... maybe a bit too much? lol. Worth the trip. Service is fast and friendly. Absolutely no room inside! I think there are a couple chairs but good luck getting one of those! We always take our goodies to go. Enjoy

At sweet Jill's at the airport and coffee cake is good but customer service was TERRIBLE. I wasn't asked if I wanted it warmed up and when I asked, the female employee was very rude. I went to school with the Pharis' and met Jill and I truly believe they would not want this type of customer service in their bakery.

From time to time, I stop in for a treat. The sweet smelling aroma is heavenly! I I usually get a cinnamon roll. I request that they put the icing on the side so that I can personally apply it myself. The reason is sometimes they can overload it with icing when it's already sweet.

Really delicious selection of desserts that is 100% guaranteed to satisfy the biggest sweet tooth out there! Fast service as well that I wished was a little bit slower so I could stare a little longer at all the incredible options!

I love this bakery my husband and I would come here when we were dating and we come for our birthday cakes or sometimes on the weekend just to satisfy our sweet tooth craving. The service is always good staff are friendly and helpful.

My favorite thing about walking up and down the street is walking by this bakery. I bet you can't walk by this place without going inside. The aroma every time. You know when you watch the cartoons and you see them smelling the food and Their noses lead They're floating bodies to the delicious treats. That happens to me every time I come here ! My absolute favorite is German chocolate cake with a toasted coconut on top . Absolutely delicious. Everything is good ! All Baked fresh daily! I was excited about getting my cinnamon roll! Got it brought it home ready to eat only to find out than it's not fluffy and it's hard I'm disappointed I'm going to trash it.

Desserts are absolutely amazing! Huge but... They do not accept card, only cash and of course they have an atm that charges a fee to withdraw cash. Disappointing tbh and you can tell the workers explaining that they do not accept card are tired of having the same conversation over and over with customers. They said the owner does the books old school. Made the whole interaction standoffish and started to ask the next customer in line what they wanted before I realized that luckily, I had some cash on me because I never do! This is preventing your business from thriving! It's 2024, get a clover please and thank you! Chocolate coconut macaroon was delicious and moist ! Location is small but has benches outside.

Dude, this place is DECADENT. When you walk in, your nose is attacked with delicious aromas that make you feel super guilty for being in there. Like, all you smelled was richness and hypertension. But live your life and eat up! Huge portions, wild flavors, and everything is moist! (I hate that word, btw.) Picked up the strawberry cake (solid) and, from what I remember, a lemon cheesecake. I enjoyed the strawberry cake much more, but I will say that the cheesecake was delicious the day after. The flavors seemingly settled and weren't as tart as day of. Perfection. They don't take cards, so bring cash.

Ordered on Postmates they sent out old dried food. It's really disappointing. I called the store and was told it was the last item and they didn't know how fresh it was.. it's the principle of putting out quality not trying to complain over an $8 muffin

It took me 3 times coming in but being too overwhelmed with all the delicious options to order, but I finally decided on the famous cinnamon roll & a slice of oreo cake. Super sweet, rich, LARGE desserts! Right when you enter it's immediate nostalgia for a place you've never been.

Super glad we stumbled upon this spot! Yes it's cash only, but no biggie. They have a HUGE selection of sweets. Their yellow cake with fudge is definitely my top favorite. I am very very picky with my cakes and this place definitely hit the spot. Can't wait to come back and try more of their delicious options! Definitely have my eye on the strawberry cake and their pineapple upside down cake! I haven't touched their pies or other baked goodies, ahhh so overwhelming!

This review would have been 10 out of 5 stars if it weren't for one thing. Jill..... with all my love for you and what you're serving, either start accepting forms of payment outside of cash only, or REPLACE the god forsaken ATM machine. It's been a mess for over a year. It's been mentioned in other reviews. The customers are frustrated and I'm sure the employees are quietly frustrated every time they have to hear a customer spout off about how they can't pay for their items but yet can't get cash out of your ATM. Also for clarity suggesting to your customers to walk to one of the banks located nearby is not good customer service. I'm sure you hold your business to a much higher standard. As frustrated as I am in this review it cannot be stated enough that Sweet Jills is the bakery of bakeries and I would even say it's so much my favorite that I'd consider myself much like a geeky fan. But that said... I'm begging you.... get a new ATM.
