Sweet Memes is definitely a jack of all trades, but a master on none. They have a huge menu made up of drinks, shaved snow, mille crepe cakes, japanese souffle pancakes, Shibuya Honey Toast, Croffles, and more. The options can be seriously overwhelming for the first timer, so I definitely recommend coming in with a general idea of what you want.
I visited on a Saturday evening after dinner, and the place was packed. Their Halloween decorations were up so half of the area by the door was occupied, but I luckily managed to grab a small table at the back of the store. All other tables were occupied with guests cramming themselves into spaces to fit.
For my visit, I got their Classic Honey Fruit Toast and their Rainbow in the Sky Tea. The drink came out first and I like that they cut up the fruit into small enough pieces to drink through the straw. However, the amount of ice added made it difficult to manuever around for the fruit, and the drink didn't really stand out overall against the other boba shops in Chinatown.
The Classic Honey Fruit Toast came out after, and I was surprised by the fact that they had made it Halloween themed. The outside of the toast was nice, crispy, and delicious with the honey drizzle, fruit, and ice cream, but as we got more towards the middle, the toast block was a bit more dense and heavy making it not nearly as enjoyable as the first few bites.
Overall, I may come back in the future to try their other desserts, but will most likely be taking them Togo if it's on a weekend to avoid the crowd. As for drinks, there are definitely better alternatives in Chinatown.
