Where To Preorder Thanksgiving Pies In LA

"We think ice cream desserts shouldn't be solely reserved for warm months and Sweet Rose Creamery agrees. Starting now through November 24th, the Santa Monica ice cream shop is taking preorders for Thanksgiving ice cream pies, including apple with apple ice cream and salty crumble pecan, and a pecan pie with brown sugar ice cream and chocolate fudge. Sweet Rose Creamery Rides Into a Third Santa Monica Scoop Shop - Eater LA

"Under chilly LA skies, the Rustic Canyon Family of eateries will open the sixth Sweet Rose Creamery in the former Three Twins Ice Cream Shop today. The small-batch ice cream shop was founded by chef Shiho Yoshikawa with restaurateurs Josh Loeb and Zoe Nathan. This new Main Street location is Sweet Rose Creamery’s third in Santa Monica, with the others along Pico and at Brentwood Country Mart (which is still in Santa Monica). They also have shops in Studio City, Pacific Palisades, and Beverly Blvd in Mid-City. From the beginning, Sweet Rose Creamery banked on creating small batch ice cream, where everything is GMO-free, certified kosher, made from scratch daily, with a pasteurizing license to boot." - Mona Holmes

Google
One of my favorite ice cream spots & I got their cookies and cream. It was one of the best versions of this flavor I’ve ever had. Nice and creamy, full of cookie flavor. I’d definitely come back again and try their other items. Next time I’ll try their freshly made waffle cones too.

Google
Popular ice cream spot on the West Side. Came here for dessert after eating lunch at Heavy Handed, and there are vegan options available. Got a kids scoop of the lavender honey coconut in a cone, and it was refreshing. My friend got a scoop of the mint chip and enjoyed it. The ice cream is creamy and smooth; you can add toppings if you so desire. They also sell pints and premade treats. Credit cards accepted. No seating available.

Google
The ice cream flavors I did try were pretty good, but almost $12 for two scoops that don't even break the top of the cup? That's insane. Looking at the previous menus online it looks like they've raised prices by almost 50% in the span of the last couple of years. Inflation was not that high. Service was fine, but no one was in there when I arrived. Had to wait for someone to come out of the back. Oh, and they had hand-written adjustments on the menus. Like, where is the money going? Just print a new piece of paper! No atmosphere. Take your cup and get the fluff out.

Google
Small selection of tasty ice cream and homemade waffle cones. Really tasty and I loved The Salted Caramel, a must try. The service was attentive and quick. Just be patient with the line as it's well worth it.

Google
I feel like this cute little ice cream spot gets over looked on Main st., but I do truly enjoy their milkshakes and ice cream! Definitely stop by on a nice sunny day.

Anna Loretta

Google
The most expensive overpriced ice cream i’ve ever had. A kids scoop that was tiny wad $5.25. You could eat the whole thing in one bite. Also the ice cream doesn’t even taste that good

Brooke Hahnert

Google
Super cute dessert spot tucked away amongst the many restaurants. Husband and I tried two of their seasonal flavors - sesame plum and parmesan fig. The sesame plum was excellent, but the parmesan fig was incredible. Creamy, salty, and a sweet finish of the fig jam swirl. I wish I'd ordered a double scoop.

Google
Delicious ! Two young men were in training. The boss lady was so patient and kind teaching and gently reminding them how to serve customers.

Yelp
Thank you Yurella (I'm not sure if I spelled it correctly), for the incredible service today. While I was there, I realized I didn't have my phone. I searched my bag and Yurella was so sweet she immediately offered to call it and tried helping me remember where I left it last. This kind of customer service that goes above and beyond for the customer is so rare in this day and age. She didn't have to show kindness and compassion to a customer who was frantic about their misplaced phone but she did. Thank you so much!

Yelp
While meeting a friend on the Westside she wanted some ice cream. Sweet Rose Creamery is a small shop on main st. Checking out what flavors they had, they had my favorite: Mint chocolate chip. We got a scoop of it and at first bite we were amazed and in love. The mint is something that you can actually taste and feel. It was very herby and very flavorful. I read this place gets pretty packed. Luckily for us we got in at the right time. Was served right away and off to our next destination. With ice cream in hand! Thank you very much!! Parking: metered private lots, metered street parking, free parking in the neighborhood area (if you are into walking quite a distance) VERDICT: Rinse and repeat

Yelp
The sea salt caramel flavor is delicious, but the single scoop is too small, and there aren't enough of them to fully enjoy the experience.

Yelp
This place gets packed, and the three times I've been here. I've only seen one person working, but the line moves fast. The first time I was here, I tried the Matcha ice cream with the magic shell, the second time was the coffee, ice cream, and this time around, I had their seasonal strawberry with the magic shell. quality ingredients all around, I highly recommend enjoying the seasonal specialties

Yelp
This place really sucks. The ice flavors are blah, it's overpriced, and customer service is strange. $2 extra for kid's ice cream. Get Outta here.

Yelp
Awesome ice cream!! Cute place! Lady working around 9 pm on July 13 was so kind and seemed like she really cared about her job and making customers happy. You are a queen and you should know it!
google avatar

Yelp
Price in relation to scoop sizes mediocre. The actual reason for the 3 stars is due to the flavors. I had coffee, which barely tasted of coffee, and mint chip that did not taste like mint chip at all, and it was not good. I've ordered both flavors at *numerous* places, so I have plenty to compare with. I don't know if they have a camera in the back room to tell them when customers arrive or not, and if not, they should get one. Overall disappointing as I totally love ice cream!

Yelp
Looking for a bomb-ass Ice cream on Main street? Want to eat a delicious tasty treat post dinner? Well friends you're in luck cause Sweet Rose Creamery satisfies both! 1st time going to this location as opposed to the one in Brentwood but I gotta say it didn't disappoint. Flavors change monthly and they offer samples. Scored a kid's cup (1 scoop) of Santa Teresa Lemon Buttermilk Sherbet. It was Bomb.com. More Lemon and a hint of buttermilk. This place is local and their ingredients are fresh. Don't ever mention Salt and Straw in my vicinity please or utter it in the same breath as Sweet Rose Creamery. YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE. Your BFF, JY

Yelp
Decided to get the three mini scoops! Especially since they aren't sampling right now. The price is a bit expensive since the scoops are so small (-$9 total). German chocolate cake is one of their seasonal vegan flavors ! I loved the richness of the chocolate. However, the coconut flavor of their base milk was a little overpowering. Brown butter pecan was sooo delicious! The nutty flavor was very deep and was a perfect amount of sweetness. Their fresh mint chip is my absolute favorite mint ice cream ever! Tastes nothing like artificial mint and the chocolate chips sweetens the overall flavor perfectly. Overall, it's not overly sweet and the texture was interesting because while it was creamy, it didn't feel super heavy and was refreshing.

Yelp
Had a wonderful experience at this cozy ice cream store. I've been exploring ice cream shops with vegan options and this was one of my favorites. It was delciiously tasty and creamy, will be back. It's so hard to find good vegan options and the cashier was especially knowledgeable and helpful!

Yelp
My friend and I came on a cooler day. Ice cream is the anytime dessert. The line was out the door, so unfortunately we waited a while. Their shop is cute. The staff were kind. Their flavor selection was vast enough for any ice cream lover to order something of their choosing. I ordered a guava scoop. Boy did it taste like guava. It was lovely! My friend ordered the classic mint and chip. Giving it a little taste, it was real mint! I love the use of real and natural flavors in my ice cream. I would definitely return for another scoop. I would also like to give a shot out to their Instagram! Very good PR and interaction!

Eva J.

Yelp
Super expensive for a tiny serving. The mint chip tasted like fresh mint and not artificial.

Yelp
My love for Sweet Rose is partially due to nostalgia--when I used to live in Santa Monica, I use to frequently visit the branch located on Pico (now replaced by Milo SRO). The excellent quality of the ice cream and cones (and the elaborate, seasonal sundaes) kept me coming back! I was sad to learn that the Pico location had closed, but now when I visit Santa Monica, I check out the shop on Main St. During COVID times, they limit the amount of customers in the store, but I've never had a long wait. They have a list of flavors that rotate along with a stable list of the standards (e.g. vanilla, cookies and cream, and salted caramel). The customer service has been consistently friendly and welcoming, and the ice cream remains excellent. I've recently gotten their milkshakes and brownie sundaes, and they've been comforting deserts for when I want to satisfy my sweet tooth on the Westside!

Ariana R.

Yelp
Amazing ice cream ! It's on the pricey side, but you'll understand why once you have it. You can really tell it's all home made. I had the seasonal peach crumble with graham crackers, but I sampled the different combos my friends got and you can't go wrong!

James B.

Yelp
Ordered the "classic" brownie sundae. Last I checked a good classic brownie sundae starts with a base of a fresh warm brownie. Not here, they decided to instead sprinkle tiny crappy cold brownie bites on top. We went with salted caramel and cookies and cream ice cream, both of which were descent, saving this sundae from a one star review.

Yelp
Stopped by Sweet Rose with some co workers and it was really good. I had their seasonal Milk & Cookies and it tasted just like it's named. The vanilla ice cream was creamy, velvety and with the chocolate chip cookies--it was chewy and delicious! The staff there was super up beat and even offered me samples, which I loved. Definitely coming back here again!

Yelp
The ice cream was very good. I loved how minty the mint chip ice cream was. The line was long which made me late to an appointment. Very popular place.
google avatar

Carolyn M.

Yelp
Really excellent service: we were helped by two young ladies. One brunette white girl (i think) and one Asian girl. They both talked me into trying the salted crumble topping because i asked them about it and boy were they right. It made my dark chocolate and lemon verbena scoops that much more fun. Small shop with street parking around the corner. Enforced masks and social distancing with one party inside at a time. Fun flavors! I really liked how the ice cream had that homemade texture- not too thick and sugary but more presents of potent flavor. As of now they offer 15% off for healthcare/essential workers so that was sweet.

Yelp
The Best!!! just the right amount of perfection & you were not overwhelmed with too many choices and topped with Friendly service. What a treat this was!!! Can't wait to get back to Cali!

Yelp
Sweet Rose Creamery is a small ice cream shop in Main Street on Santa Monica. Last Saturday while out and about, I wanted to cool off with an icy treat and this shop looked appealing. Parking was a challenge, but luckily found metered street parking spot a block away. With Fendi in tow we walk in this small ice cream shop, with a cut cupid like logo and a nice assortment of flavors, some basic and some unique, like the Fig jam crumble, which I chose. The heavily tattooed lady behind the counter was nice, but sadly, I was so distracted with reading the menu board above to notice, after she already scooped my ice cream and saw she did NOT wear gloves!!! Eww She handled my cash and was handling the ice cream, ewwwww! I asked why she didn't wear gloves, she shrugged and said she ' washed her hands,' I wasn't happy and felt disgusted. I didn't want to cause a scene, as there was a family behind me with small kids. I did the obligatory pics and scooped half off to see the ice cream content. My little Fendi is so perspicacious, her facial expression revealed my dissatisfaction. I just didn't feel comfortable eating this yummy looking treat, and filed it in the trash discreetly. The shop looked cute and offered yummy looking ice cream, but cleanliness and good hygiene is tres important because I value my good health. This shop and any similar shop that handles food, should handle food with care and wear gloves! If you're handling food and the register, please wear gloves!! Cannot endorse Sweet Rose Creamery...it would be sweeter if your employees were gloves!

Yelp
FELLOW LACTOSE INTOLERANTS: This place makes ice cream something you can enjoy again with their plant based ice creams!! Dark Chocolate, Stone Fruit Sorbet and Strawberry Coconut was absolutely AMAZING and loved it even more than how milk based ice cream tastes. Be ready to wait in line because there might be only one person manning the store. PRO TIP: grab napkins when you're in there!!
google avatar

Prathima V.

Yelp
What delish, fresh and healthy ice cream! We loved that they have a chalk board mentioning the types of milk and ingredients they use! We came late around 15 mins before closing so they were out of a few things we wanted to try but we will hit them up again because it was that yummy no matter what you get :)
google avatar

Angel M.

Yelp
The black lady working there (didn't catch her name) on July 11 was the sweetest woman in the world. The ice cream was good but she was great, so friendly and kind and sweeter than even the ice cream.

Yelp
After strolling the nearby beach park, ice cream sounded like a good idea so we came back down the street for a treat. A wonderful treat it was. The ice creamery is a local Santa Monica business (as stated) and while the store front is very small, it's an adequate size for what it needs to do. There are a variety of flavors and the flavors switch out depending on the season. As I walked in, they were making a fresh batch of waffle cones, which enticed me to get a waffle cone in the end. I ended up trying the coconut lime, strawberry rhubarb with salty crumble, and kumquat frozen yogurt. All three were pretty unique and delectable to me. Each one tasted like they were described and the ice cream didn't taste overly heavy. A bit sweet on the coconut lime and kumquat flavors, but not overly sweet. Not a huge fan of the salty crumble, but that's just a personal preference. I ended up going for the kumquat frozen yogurt on a waffle cone, because I liked how they provided chunks/slices of kumquat. The texture isn't the same as ice cream, because it is yogurt based - yielding a grainy-like texture, but exceedingly soft to lick or bite into. The kumquat tastes similar to orange marmalade and while not an acquired taste, it can be 'unique' to those that don't have kumquat normally. All in all, I like their flavors and wouldn't mind giving them another try in the future if I am in the area.

Yelp
The oatmeal cookie non-dairy ice cream was not bad, but OMG--the price to portion size ratio was awful. I paid 5.50 (+ a $1 tip, bringing it up to $6.50) for the tiniest scoop of ice cream. It was like half of the small cup. Never again.
google avatar

Yelp
First time trying this place the day after Valentine's Day. Keisha was the best! She let us sample everything! Will be back!

Yelp
2.75 stars. I visited Sweet Rose Creamery yesterday on a Sunday afternoon. What drew me into this ice cream shop was its simpleness at a quick glance as I strolled along Main St. in the midst of the Summer Solstice Festival. The menu of flavors included just the right amount of options, vanilla, salted caramel (way too sweet), fresh mint chip, fruit-based sorbets, and etc. I ended up getting a single scoop of the brown butter with orange wafer bits in a cup. My gripe was the serving size. My single scoop felt more of a kids size scoop and at $5 (tax included), I was expecting slightly more. I hate to admit, but I would've been more satisfied with Rite Aid ice cream with their options and portion sizes as Rite Aid uses a standard ice cream scooper. By the time I wanted to say something, I had already paid and a line was forming behind me. The ice cream in itself was just ok, slightly sweeter than my liking, with strong flavor and creamy texture. Customer service was great. The Asian girl (sorry didn't catch a name) was very patient with my trying 3 samples. She was also all smiles. Even with great service, not sure if I'll be back. #37/2018

Yelp
Yummy ice cream, great flavors and texture. Haven't been in ages so I hope it's still up to par!

Jeffrey S.

Yelp
WOW. Just WOW!! This is the freshest ice cream I've ever had. Which is strange to say about ice cream but it tastes like it was made moments ago. It was creamy, with the perfect sweetness to it. I had vanilla and strawberry and the combo paired nicely. Outstanding ice cream!
google avatar

Jonathan L.

Yelp
Ssshhh...! But I believe the ice cream here is worth 10x its value! Whenever I take a trip up to the Santa Monica area, I think about this place because it represents such positive SoCal vibes like health-centricity, fun times, and business acumen. The story of how it started is remarkable if you ever get the chance to search it out.
google avatar

Ricardo F.

Yelp
This place is open during COVID! The shop is super small but they have a limit of 2 people while you're ordering (Required Face Mask). They have some crazy seasonal flavors which are the BEST! My girlfriend ordered a "Corn" flavored Ice cream and I ordered a "Blueberry Muffin" flavored Ice cream. Never had I ever thought I'd come across such flavors but they were Soooo Good! Try the Seasonal Flavors!! Don't be taken away from its name!
google avatar

Diana C.

Yelp
Love all their seasonal flavors and how they use good ingredients with no carrageenan. Their dairy free pumpkin pie ice cream is out of this world. The flavor and the texture is everything. Brown sugar butter pecan is amazing too.
google avatar

Eric F.

Yelp
Great ice cream with some flavors more memorable than others. My first visit entailed some Bananas Foster on a fresh waffle cone...crazy derricious. More recent visits were also good, just without the same wow factor.
google avatar

Ron L.

Yelp
Sweet Rose Creamery on Main Street is a very small location but it serves wonderful vegan ice cream with interesting flavors that satisfies those who cannot or will not tolerate dairy. As one who is lactose intolerant like many, I appreciate the choices at this to go like premium ice cream joint.
google avatar

Ariel M.

Yelp
The ice cream was pretty good. I had the vegan peanut butter cup which had plenty of peanut butter cups inside. If there was not enough peanut butter cups- Trust there would of been a problem! Service was very attentive and friendly. I would definittely go back for seconds :)

Yelp
I was craving ice cream, walking through Santa Monica into Venice, far from my usual turf, and spotted someone eating a delicious cone. I knew I wanted whatever they were eating, and lo and behold, Sweet Rose Creamery popped into view. I ordered a single of the Chocolate Pear Caramel Ripple in a waffle cone, and I con honestly say that it's one of the best bites of ice cream I've ever eaten. The caramel is the perfect consistency, chewier than you'd normally find, which to me is perfection. Just enough bite, but still smooth to eat. The pears were luscious, the chocolate divine. All together, almost perfect. The cone was nice, but nothing too special, and a significant extra charge. The only reason that I'm taking off a star is that it ended up costing over eight dollars for a single scoop in a cone. I know ice cream has gotten really expensive everywhere, and that they use high quality ingredients. But it was literally one scoop. Most single portions usually are like a scoop in a half. Not this one. One medium-sized ball. Ultimately, it was worth it, but unless you're rolling in the dough, save it for a very special treat. Or maybe bring a friend and share a double. I do hope to return one day when I'm a bit more flush.
google avatar

Evan L.

Yelp
Out of this world roasted corn ice cream. That's all I have to say - I haven't had a dish this revelatory in years. I thought it sounded weird, too, but something told me to try it and honestly I was amazed. Imagine creamed corn, but sweeter and more luscious and delicious. WOW. The other flavors, strawberry and vanilla were simple and perfect, and dare I say 'pure.' This place is a Godsend for dessert and I'll go there every time I walk by. Yum.
google avatar

Katie M.

Yelp
Oh the ice cream is so good! I'm not an ice cream person, but I sure would travel across LA to have this one! So creamy! Best banana flavor anything I've had! Wish I lived close enough to take a pint home!
google avatar

Rosa F.

Yelp
Excellent! I don't like sweets and this place had the right amount of sweet. I ordered a small waffle kids size vegan vanilla coconut ice cream. This place had great music and the cashier was sweet, happy and helpful. I didn't catch her name. She was there today- Monday- 9/10/18 at 2 pm. They have an Arnold Palmer ice cream that taste just exactly like it. It's amazing!! I highly recommend this place!
google avatar

Chloé C.

Yelp
Best salted caramel out there. Tastes burnt in a good way and not too salty.. would go back
google avatar

Sean B.

Yelp
Excited to have the best ice cream shop in LA open on main street! The salted caramel and the mint chip are amazing, but you can't go wrong with anything. If they have a carrot cake, definitely give that a try. They are great about giving samples too!
google avatar

Erica L.

Yelp
Delicious ice cream with great texture and flavor. They also have a gluten free chocolate waffle cone. I've never seen GF WAFFLE cones being offered anywhere so that was enough to get me through the door. Delicious and crispy. Similar texture to a GF Tate's cookie.
google avatar

Benny T.

Yelp
Can't go wrong by stopping by here! The quality is pretty standard and the staff is nice. I did try their summer corn flavor and it's really interesting. It's like cream of corn soup but in ice cream form so I'd say it is an acquired taste. Definitely grab a cold bite here if you're a sweet tooth and need a pick me up while on a stroll.
google avatar

Kassie T.

Yelp
This is an absolute must try is your in the area. Covid-19 has impacted a lot of these businesses and it was awesome see them open and making these delicious treats. The Campfire had chocolate, ice cream, cracker crumbs and toasted marshmallows on top, every element was on point of a s'more. The only downside is there isn't anywhere to sit and enjoy, that of course isn't there fault because of Covid, but directly behind them you'll cross their parking area a small street and in between two apartment building is a huge grassy area looking out into the beach. That was well worth it. Thank you
google avatar

Kristen W.

Yelp
Sweet Rose Creamery is a great, small batch ice cream shop on Main Street. Flavors change often, but if you get the chance give the sweet corn ice cream flavor a try. Just trust me on this one! Dips aren't huge but plenty. Milkshakes are pricey ($10) but a single dip in a small waffle cone is a little over $5.
google avatar

Victoria A.

Yelp
I was really excited when I stumbled upon this place while strolling down main st. They have a variety of vegan flavors which is rare so I decided to grab their vegan vanilla and dark chocolate in a cup. The vanilla was delicious and the bottom of that scoop blended in with the bottom dark chocolate scoop. I was 2 spoonfuls into the dark chocolate when i was met by a human hair. I shrugged it off and was like maybe it's mine. However I came across a total of 4 human hairs and that was only halfway through that one scoop! For a place on the west side I'd expect higher Standards of food preparation that meet the food service regulations. Such a bummer, will not be coming back here and suggest you don't either unless eating hair is your thing.

Yelp
Strike 1, way too sweet Strike 2, puny portions/overpriced Strike 3, melts waaay too fast!

Yelp
Fantastic salted caramel! And pretty large servings so a kids size was sufficient :) a cute place to stop by if in the Santa Monica area!
