Sweetfin Studio City

I never typically write reviews but I think this was worth writing. I decided to pass by the sweetfin studio city location but was really lost on how to navigate. It's really overwhelming & the build a bowl steps are all over the place. But on Wednesday night, the blue hair cashier helped guide me through the steps to build my bowl & really nice. The fish tasted really fresh, the rice was all warm & and the toppings were really tasty. Definitely coming back.

Victoria holds this place together! She's always so friendly so warm and so fast. I've only seen her working here and she's terrific. I will make the trek over the hill from West Hollywood when this is Not even my closest location Great food. Great service. But also great employees! Plus her eye make up is always on point!

I'm honestly very sad to give this place 2 stars because I do really love Sweetfin and I have been a customer for years. I used to order at least once a week from another location and they were always consistent and they got my order right every time. Whether I ordered for delivery, pickup, or ordered there, it was always correct. When this location opened, it became the closest to my home, but somehow they mess up my order every time. I'm the type of person if my order is messed up or a place doesn't have all the ingredients to my "usual" order, I can't eat it, the meal will be ruined if it's not the way I always order it. This location has messed up my order enough times that I'm sad to say I will never come back here. I will continue going to other locations and pray I don't go through the same experience, but this location has ruined all chances. This location has messed up my order 3 times: 1 - I ordered for pick up and I noticed after I picked it up that there was one out of my six toppings missing, so luckily before I drove off, I was able to come back inside, and they added that missing topping. 2 - I ordered through the app for delivery and I got two bowls. When the bowls were delivered, we realize they messed up both bowls. There was so much wrong with it. I can't even explain everything on text here but it was to the point that I had to email them to let them know the situation. I was pleasantly surprised with how generous they were, and they immediately refunded the order. Because of that, I did go ahead and give them one more chance which leads me to the last incident. 3 - this last time, my friend ordered for the both of us in her app for delivery. I did my usual order which contains 3 different mixed in sauces. When the order arrived, my fish was completely bare, there wasn't a single sauce on my poke bowl. It was insane!!! I tried to eat it, but who could eat a poke bowl without any sauce or dressing on there?! I'm sure I am not the only person who experiences this, it's frustrating to throw away money and to ruin a meal. I urge everyone to check out a different location to avoid this bad experience.

Poke cravings satisfied. While running errands all morning I ended up at this plaza and what do I see ? Sweetfin ....!!!!! I have tried their other locations before but first time at this one. Fresh and delicious bowls. You can build your own by choosing the base, the protein and the toppings. A bit pricey compared to the portion size but this is the new norm in LA. Lots of parking, good customer service.

I love me some premium, fresh poke bowls. :) The forbidden/black rice and bamboo rice are my bases of choice. I find the bamboo rice really soaks in all of the sauces and toppings so well. For protein, I am open to salmon, tuna, albacore or sweet potato. Portions seem to be generous. There's a good of unusual ingredients like pepitas, mango and jicama, which I love about Sweetfin. Yes, prices are a bit higher and overall portions are smaller, but the taste is great and the assortment is appreciated. Casual ambiance, great place for a grab and go.

Like all the other reviews, probably my last time for the same reason... very little portions of fish and multiple missing items on all 4 of the bowls we ordered. Much better off sticking with Poke Bar down the street. Too bad but maybe they need to bulk up their portions and stop highering kids who could care less and are unfocused.

First and last time. What a horrible bowl of food if you can call it that. First of all it's terribly expensive. I i ordered the recommended bamboo rice as a base and it was so hard it nearly broke my tooth. Was it undercooked? Or is it supposed to be this way? I won't ever find out. There are so many other better poki places to go to without the trendy line caught biodegradable bs they try to give you.

Came here in a Saturday afternoon to order inside the store and eat outside. There was one girl working and she was In the back of the store blending something. She asked if I was there to pick up? I said no I'm here to order and eat outside. She rolled her eyes and kept blending what ever it is you blend here (dressing?). Anyway she didn't tell me to wait that she would right with me, and three minutes passed, I'm still waiting to place my order. I ended up leaving and not saying anything took my business to tender greens in the same shopping center. Please work on customer service otherwise you'll loose business. I will never come back to this location.

See the photos for instagram vs. reality... talk about false advertising As far as thawed out fish goes, it's good. But... just don't expect your food to look like the photos.

Omg I love this place! They have multiple rice choices! I never knew so many types of rice even existed! The poke bowl I got was so fresh and so good! The staff were nice as well!

Ordered for pickup from the website. Was a little annoyed they advertise $5 off first order but if you click the banner and it never worked. Been several times now and they're often out of stock of items like avocado. Portions are very small so get a large if you want more bang for your buck. It's on the pricier side, not the best option in the area but it's decent and within walking distance for me so convenience wins sometimes lol.

If I'm not having sushi, I'm having poke. I first tried Sweetfin years ago in Hollywood. I've loved it ever since but honestly, it was a bit of a drive for me. Then, they opened a location in Toluca Lake which was great because I worked at a nearby building. Recently, while stopping at Seven Seas (Studio City) to purchase caviar, I noticed balloons in front of a new restaurant. Little did I know it was Sweetfin. You should have seen my excitement. Of course I had to stop by and buy a bowl. Everyone was so friendly and upbeat. I believe the person who helped me was Josh. He was seriously the BEST. I ordered the Mango Albacore bowl, which has ponzu lime sauce, macadamia nuts, pickled ginger, Napa cabbage, and edamame. (Small $11.40 | Large $15.40). Honestly, it was one of the best poke bowls I've ever had. I've been back twice since then and I will keep going back for more. Haha.

Came here today for lunch and got the small spicy tuna bowl to go. It was good, but not great. The tuna seemed fresh, but the ratio was off compared the other ingredients. It would have been better had they have mixed it up. If I come back I will ask them to toss everything together. The crispy onions tasted a little stale, which was my first bite as they were on top. All around it was lacking in flavor and needed a little more spice and zing. Easy parking and the service was quick and pleasant. Offer apple pay and no cash.

Mediocre at best. Flavorless, small portions, and so dry! With so many great poke spots in LA, this is a hard pass.

Food is good. Not crazy that they don't accept cash. Been a few times now and while no one was rude, they didn't seem particularly friendly either

Lucky find! Looking for a bowl at Tender Greens and stumbled onto this spot. It just looked good and healthy. The look was no deceiving. Yummy!!!! Got the spicy tuna. My base was the slaw. Home run.

There was an older man that was so completely rude. I was there at 1:40pm on 2/15. He was really aggressive with me and I called it out and he told me he was the manager and to go ahead. I think he doesn't like where he's at in life and took it out on me. I work in the same area as the restaurant and I plan on telling everyone what I experienced. I wish I can give a negative star.

Ordered through postmates. 2 bowls. One lid was off. The other lid was closed WITH A LIVE BUG CRAWLING INSIDE. Postmates said sorry no refund. Tried calling every sweetfin number I could find and you can't talk to anyone it's all text. They then said sorry can't help you with a refund but I'll pass along the message to the chef and forward your email to postmates. I've ordered from this location countless times and there's always a shortage or no sauce included or minor things wrong where I don't bother. But this, a LIVE BUG, that's where I draw the line. Disgusting customer service and health practices. I'll be contacting the health department and BBB.

Ordered on Postmates. Slightly disappointed because of how light the servings are. Ordered extra protein for $6, and my bowl was still shallow. Maybe I need to order inside next time. Also, no sauce on side as requested. Will definitely love to give a second chance and update my review because it tasted great! Please take this critique as encouragement to keep up the great work. The hospitality industry could be very tedious.

Yeah y'all got me. Never coming back again. I got about 5-6 small cubes of fish lol. No it's not hiding under all this rice trust me I looked through everything. You are being warned!!!

Nice ambiance, clean, open feeling. I had a long day at the dentist and was very hungry. The small bowl with extra protein was the perfect amount of food, and boy did it it slap. I'd go back for sure.

I like a Sweetfin in Burbank so much, I decided to order at their a studio City location, since it's closer to me. Bowls were ok, but I've been there a few times now and it hasn't gotten better. I broke a cardinal rule and ordered delivery, big mistake. Never order raw fish to be delivered. Plus, the driver got lost and bowls were less than fresh. That is partly my fault for ordering and not eating there but the nighttime at that location is not fantastic, a bit isolated, next to an ups store. Location is not great. The service when I've been in there before has been lackluster to say the least. Not sure it is up to par compared to the other locations I've tried.

I am excited about this location as it is closer to our house! Today I tried Truffled Yuzu Albacore small bowl with Bamboo rice as my base and I loved it! It had some kick to it. The portion was enough for me but if you are really hungry you might opt out for the large size bowl. Sweetfin participated in a fundraiser event for our Elementary School and we are very grateful to them for that. Looking forward to come again and try other things.

Flavorful, fresh, fast. I love the vegetarian options. They have a soba noodle with mango that knocked my socks off - DELICIOUS. A great addition to the neighborhood!

Update: Since this review the restaurant was very proactive on getting back to me when I called about the tuna and also refunded my meal. I updated the stars and think it would be worth it to try again. Honestly I give them 5 stars for how they handled this. Went here for lunch today and ordered the spicy tuna bowl. It was disgusting. The tuna was frozen and some pieces were fatty and chewy. The cauliflower rice was dry. Service was meh. Went to check out the reviews and someone and their mom got food poisoning from the tuna here yesterday! Ugh. Total nightmare. I wish I had read the reviews first, but I've been to the Westwood location and had only good experiences. Waiting to get the worst food poisoning as per the review. I already feel sick and nauseous.

Not a fan of this spot...The portions are tiny with very little protein (my small bowl had 5 cubes of fish in it). I didn't like the flavor or the texture of the bamboo rice - it was crunchy and mushy. I prefer regular/sushi rice for poke. The portion of certain add ons (seaweed salad and cilantro) were lacking.

My food was delivered by DoorDash so I can't give my opinion of the restaurant or staff. However, I did order a small over Kale 2 nights in a row. While the ahi cubes/ portions were a bit small, I found the entire dish fresh and satisfying. There pre-selected choices were very creative. I'd recommend giving it a try, DoorDash delivered my meal in about 8 mins from the Studio City Restaurant. I'm not into enormous portions to begin with so the portion size was fine for me. They were closer in size to Hawaiian Poke, in my opinion.

GOT FOOD POISONING:((((((((((( Went here for the first time yesterday and got the worst food poisoning of my lifeeeee. Service was nice but both my mom and I got extremely sick after getting the Bluefin Tuna bowl.

1/13/22 around 5pm The place was completely empty!! There was a girl at first (black hair), totally ignored me and continues putting sauce in a bottle. Another worker came in, he just talked to the girl and completely ignored me as well. Finally another guy shows up and asks, have you been helped? Like seriously!!! Toluca lake location is the same, they just care about online orders! Studio city is not for you, with service like that...you're business is over! Thanks to the tall/slim guy for being nice and helping me. I think one of the owners was there too lol this place is a mess!!! Don't come here!

Omg the best poke bowls in Studio City! So much flavor and they have vegan options. I got the build your own bowl. Definitely worth $15. The workers are so nice too!

I've ordered from here a few times on Uber eats and the rice has always been... disgustingly hard/stale. The flavor of the poke mix is great but the rice really kills it. In a bad way

So many great choices . Went with the yuzu salmon signature bowl . Can't go wrong !! Delicious .

The first time I went, there were two ladies there.. i was the last customer in line. They got my base and protein correct but they got the toppings completely wrong. Don't get me wrong, it was still delicious but I didn't get most of the toppings I had ordered, so I decided to go back and try again. Different people the second time around, and MUCH different results. Still delicious, and they got my bowl toppings correct and bonus.. I happened to mention about my first time there just so they can double check that they got it all right this time, and they actually comped my bowl to make up for the time before! Very nice people there and delicious food! I will be returning :)

came for the new poke burrito and it did not disappoint. lots of flavor and the perfect size for lunch. would def re-order!

I love Sweetfin- the food is consistently fresh and flavorful and the service cannot be beat. So happy to have a new location in Studio City!

LOVED my BYOB bowl! The salmon was delicious and every topping was so fresh! 10/10 recommend it.

I wish I could give this place 5 stars if only the place had nice seating area. The poke is great but the seating really breaks the deal for me. It's kind of like gran and go, you can never sit there to enjoy ur food. They have few tables outside but it's always very dirty and horrible seating area. If they make a nice seating area then I will visit often and change my review

Got a chance to check out the soft opening! The team did a great job handling the crowd, the food was super tasty. The Chile Ginger Noodles were especially delicious and had a surprising kick to it. The Spicy Tuna Poke on Bamboo Rice was very yummy. Claudia and Carlos were so outgoing and friendly and helped us navigate our first visit with ease and grace.

Super great food. The fish is all amazing and obviously fresh. I love the black rice and edamame. Nice to be able to customize the bowls.
