These guys suck, truly. You’ll either wait ten minutes in line to begin your order, or you can order online and hope to god you get a good salad. If you order online, you will either get the smallest portion known to man or maybe just enough. If you go in person, they might give you the appropriate portion. Often my meal pick up is cold or greens are wilted, although my orders never sit for more than five minutes after the completed notification. Today, however, was a tipping point. I came to pick up my salad and it felt so light and empty but I didn’t think much of it. I get to my place and see that the damn terrible staff couldn’t even fill my salad to halfway. The protein plates.. packaged in a more shallow bowl… contains wayyyy more than I got in this order. I am paying a LOT for a salad to eat as a MEAL, I am not paying to eat a SNACK. How does a sweetgreen suck this bad? Are the staff getting lazy? Is there no pride in the work that the staff performs here? There’s a lot to work on Sweetgreen manager and you’d be better off starting that work now. Sooooo bad. DO NOT go here as the one on grand is way better. Heed the warnings made by others in their reviews.

If you come to this sweetgreen all the time, this is a sign you should stop coming here. I ordered online from Ubereats today and as I was eating and mixing the salad bowl, a giant moth from underneath the vegetable flew underneath the bowl. This is traumatizing and insane. If anyone knows how to report please comment down below and help. Thank you.

EDITED (addition below) I gave 5 stars because of how entertainingly bad the service is. It’s bad but the entertainment value is so good! They prioritize take out over walk in customers. Expect MANY workers to be around and hope that one of them sees you and wants to help you out. I feel like a pit bull at the pound. When someone sees me and wants to help, I almost can’t believe it. EDIT: I adjusted my rating because the time it takes to get a salad isn’t entertaining anymore. Demoted to 2 stars. One person at a time helping walk in customers during lunch rush. There were 4 people ahead of me in line. Took 25 min for me to get a salad. (It only takes about 2 min per salad. But with one person making them, running the cash register, and 40 other people working “in the back”, it would obviously be too much work to actually help the people in the store.)

I spent $40 plus on 2 bowls and didn’t realize the 3 year old portion bowl they gave me until I got home. Thankfully Grubhub refunded me after sending them the 2 ounces of chicken that I was given. This is no $20 dollar plate. Go to Sonoratown down the street or shake shack instead in DTLA.

A salad bar/bowl chain that can be found all over, but good value and a healthy option all the same. Some vegan options on the menu but basically any item on the menu is customisable so there are plenty of options. I had the hummus bowl with pesto and asked for extra chickpeas, and the sweet potato instead of olives. It was such a yummy, and well-balanced salad. Service was excellent, they were quick and efficient, as well as friendly. Indoor and outdoor seating at this location. Really appreciated the eco friendly containers and the recycling options. Ambiance definitely screams healthy fast food chain but it was still quite nice, particularly the entrance.

Appreciate healthy options. Sweat potatoes somewhat small portion for $4.50. Great dip it comes with. Arugula salad was good. Dressings good. Chicken color unique. I like the crunch. Lunch vibe. I’m not overly excited about it. I’d recommend for the vegan/vegetarian/healthy eating option lunch. Saw a few salad options I’d pick.

If you order through the app, sometimes you’ll wait 5 minutes past the scheduled pick up time for your salad, sometimes 15. It’s a surprise every time! The team is doing their best, but they need to fix their ordering system.

The restaurant is a build-your-own bowl style spot and they have a couple of pre-designed options to select from for convenience. Although they advertises as a plant-forward, healthy spot, they only have a handful of fully plant-based options while the rest require modifications. I went with their only fully vegan bowl, the Shroomami - a mix of roasted tofu, portobello mushrooms, veggies, wild rice, and almonds, tossed in a miso sesame ginger dressing. My bowl was served warm and it was a filling and satisfying tofu bowl. I also tried their side of sweet potatoes and these were fire as well. If you're feeling healthy and want to indulge in a good meal for the heart, this is a good spot to check out.

The Tofu bowl is amazing, after all of the additional toppings there was enough food for 2 meals.

Came here with my coworker on 2/14. Both ended up catching a stomach bacteria from the salads we ordered. Beware of coming here.

If you'd to spend $20 on a bunch of rice, veggies, and a baby sized (no exageration) portion of steak that looks like finely chopped dog food, sweetgreens in DTLA is the place to be! @mgmt, is this how it's usually portioned ?

I wanted to like this place after all the positive reviews. The salads looked delicious and fresh. However, the truth is that this place is garbage. They included no silverware or napkins. You'd think for a $18 bowl you'd receive more than half a handful of chicken(which tastes very bland and dry). It felt like a punishment to eat their food. Also, a big thanks to the workers for leaving a piece of soggy cardboard in my salad! It somehow still has more flavor than the actual salad! I won't be visiting ever again, I'd recommend you find another place.

This place is severely understaffed. All the reviews about the wait times are true. Placed an order for pick up and waited over 30 minutes from the time it was expected to be ready for ONE bowl. This was on a Sunday night so I can't imagine how this place gets during lunch. I would avoid this location if possible

After a tiring morning flight, I was really looking forward to something fresh and healthy to boost my energy back up. My meal here did just that. I ordered the Chicken Avocado Ranch and it was a good mix of protein, greens, and carbs.

Love the food options here! The salmon is my favorite. Their agua frescas are so good. They have outside seating which I love and the restrooms are clean.

I've been horrible with handling my own lunch for the last few weeks and I've been eating like crap! I tried sweetgreen in hopes to kickstart a healthier eating habits ha ha I tried the harvest bowl, which was essentially a bed of kale with sliced sweet potatoes, apples, wild rice, goat cheese, roast chicken (had a nice light flavor) almonds, with a delicious balsamic vinaigrette. At first I thought it was super small, but it was very filling and delicious. The bread was not good though, so next time I will not have it with my meal (very dry and flavorless). Another cool thing I want to mention is that the building I work in has a partnership with this restaurant, called an "Outpost" -- basically if you order through a special link before 10:45 AM, your meal will be delivered to you between 12:15-12:30pm in a designated spot in our office building for a very minimal fee (no delivery charge or tipping required). I'm sure other buildings are partnered with this restaurant throughout the city so I would check it out!

I came in today at around 6:45pm. No line at all. The store is clean and spacious, surprisingly no one dining in either. Got my order within just a minute. Staff was friendly and helpful when asked about the Ingres. The hot honey chicken salad is pretty decent. Portion is big enough for dinner. The herb roasted chicken is tender and flavorful.

I was so excited to come to Sweet Green. I used to visit multiple times per week for lunch when I was living in New York. Sweet Green is my favorite salad place because of its commitment to fresh, seasonal ingredients, many or all of which are local. Everything is so fresh and very consistent quality. I'm not a big salad person, but Sweet Green has managed to make me crave salads. I always order ahead on the app so I don't have to wait in line and it's ready to pick up as soon as I walk in the door.

Great light lunch to start the afternoon. Business was slow so getting my order was pretty quick. I got the hot honey chicken bowl and it was good! It was my first time here and I'll continue going to sweet greens. Great substitute for chipotle and also healthier options! I recommend to anyone wanting a light and balanced lunch. You won't feel groggy or tired afterwards!

I ordered the Maple Glazed Brussels & Chicken via Uber Eats and was very disappointed. First, let.me say I did reach out to Uber Eats with my review as well but the following is the restaurant's fault. There was absolutely no brussel sprouts in the order and the chicken was super over cooked or very old. Either way, the chicken was incredibly dry. I feel like it was a complete waste of my money. To say that I am disappointed is an understatement.

The free water machine at this location has been out of order for days (which illegal btw to have a food establishment without free available water) and I just noticed that their health rating went from A to B likely because of this?? but what's even shadier is they tried to hide the new rating?? Weird

Absolutely don't get the new crinkle cut potato chips. Save your money. Under cooked and not crisp AT ALL!

I ordered through the Uber eats app from this direct store. I asked for a Salmon Miso Bowl with the works. This is exactly what I was sent. No salmon! just cold rice and rock hard onion chips, the fact that I was charged $19 for this. Horrendous.

This review is solely on their "order pick up" on their app. DO NOT ORDER AHEAD OF TIME. This was the third time I placed my order in advance and 3rd and last time this happens. Not only did this take time from my lunch time but what's the point if 20 minutes later from my pick up time, my order is still not ready. They are always running behind. But that's not the worst part..the employee handed me my food and told me the bags were behind me to grab my own, as I watched her bag everyone else's. Let me add, not once did I hackle them about my order, or even asked the status. I just waited there patiently until I was approached and asked about my order number. If the line seems long, it's no more than a 5 min wait. So my suggestion is to order there in person.

I love the sweet green by my place in Venice. Bad review just because it says it's open when it's not. I was downtown and wanted something healthy so I yelped places that were open. Paid $10 for parking to eat here. This SG says it's open until 9pm. I came here at 5:50 and the gate was half pulled down and the employees were cleaning things up. Completely closed. Ah well, tocaya is half a block down and enjoyed their taco Tuesday.

I thought about keeping this salad to myself but it's too good not to share. Get the shroomami salad, swap arugula and mixed greens instead of kale. Add lentils and sweet potato. Light dressing and add hummus on the side. Add avocado if you luxe. Excellent vegan salad that keeps me full all day. I can't say much about ordering online/ahead but the staff has always been excellent when I order in store.

Delicious salads. Fresh & tasty. That said, what you order is not necessarily what you will receive. You pay them for add-ons but they may or may not arrive. Even sides like their delicious focaccia & hummus have a 50/50 chance of being included in your delivery order. Order the salad you desire & Sweetgreen will provide the salad they see fit to give you.

I dashed this order, just one salad for me. Delivery bag not sealed, food plate sealed so poorly the stickers were loose and coming off before I tried opening it myself. My utensil unsealed floating around the unsealed bag. Then I start eating and my sweet potato is so black and Burnt I think it's a mushroom but it's not, it's just charred sweet potato pieces, a lot of them. This employee hates this restaurant and it wants to see it failed. He should be let go before this restaurant gets to 2 star

Great option to grab a salad or build your own downtown. I always get the Hummus Crunch! Friendly staff.

Few minutes to wait in line but nothing too crazy, I built by own salad with spinach and rice, added red onions, cabbage, carrots, avocado($2), cucumber, pickles, mushrooms and salmon. The salmon could've been bigger for what they're charging but the salad itself was hefty, they weren't stingy on the greens. I opted for the caesar dressing and they ask lite, medium or a lot. I said medium and it was probably too much. Typing this now, after the fact, I realize I didn't have anything crunchy! I looked at it and skipped right over it. I also opted out of the bread lol I'm trying to do better. It was pretty loud inside and outside as it is downtown and drinking busy place.

I've always ordered salads from this specific location, but I don't think I'll be ordering again over the fact that the packaging wasn't good, they give extremely small portions of my food when I literally paid for extra portions. The most unappetizing looking meal I've ever seen.

I ordered a $20 salad and they forgot the PROTEIN. Where is the chicken?? How do you forget to add the MOST IMPORTANT PART OF THE MEAL?? Yall are too expensive for these kind of mistakes. Futhermore, the salads are smaller now, but the price is the same. And the amount of dressing they include is laughable. To put it in perspective, I ordered extra and I could still barely taste it. Such a dry salad. You guys are really cutting corners with this "inflation" garbage and it's really really sad how you taking advantage of the people. RipOff, scam. Update: I ordered again out of desperation b/c I LOVE their salads when I am physically in store. So I said OK, I'll just pay for MORE dressings right? WRONG. Pickup orders are constantly missing items or things from the plate. Multiple times my plates were missing rice. If you're ordering for pickup, make sure to double check your order has everything... sigh.

I stopped by for 2 nutritional meals, the Chipotle chicken bowl and the Buffalo Ceaser Salad. The parking was horrid it was DTLA, but the food was a disappointment. The host forgot to add chicken on both bowls. Bummer! But, after calling customer service, they made sure the next visit I was taken care of. I was blown away by the customer service I received not only on the phone but at the store. After the apology was accepted,I enjoyed the salad, and didn't get a parking ticket. The store was clean and the staff was cool! Thanks for a great lunch!

I hadn't ever been to sweetgreen in person (usually ordered online for meetings), but yesterday, I went with a colleague and wasn't having my best day. The staff were friendly and asked how I was doing, which these days is more rare than I realized. It's the little things like this that really made my day. Really love the service and the food here.

I'll start off by saying I love Sweetgreen and their other locations but this location one was off... I'm vegan and I specifically said replace the chicken with tofu. And she proceeds to put chicken on my bowl instead of tofu. Lol and I always repeat myself so they can understand I don't want animal flesh on my food.... They were out of many things as well. Love spicy cashew sauce though. I'll try this location again for an update.

Worst service every. Everyone at this location hates thier job. They move insane slow, roll thier eyes and can care less. Food is sometimes not the freshest and inconsistent.

I went with a custom bowl this time. The main reason why I wanted to eat here again is for their amazing Rosemary Focaccia Bread. Oh my gosh, the bread is banging! Even though it's greasy, it's also crunchy and the Italian flavor is definitely noticed and appreciated. I ain't never had bread taste this damn good. I got two pieces and the size is pretty filling. A bowl and 1 piece of bread makes for a great lunch. I tried to save the second one for another day, but ended up eating both of them in one sitting, haha. An absolute eyeroll! For the main dish I got the Custom: Create Your Own Bowl since their prepared warm bowls aren't for me. I got: Spring mix 0.00 Warm wild rice 0.00 Cucumber 0.00 Avocado 2.00 Roasted Sesame Tofu 2.00 Spicy Cashew Dressing 0.00 Sweetgreen Hot Sauce 0.00 Spicy Broccoli 0.00 Tomato 0.00 Lentils 0.00 These carbs and veggies are some of my favorites, so a lot of good choices and good eats. But I do LOVE to sauté my veggies so the raw taste was different from what I'm used to. I eat my vegetables like an adult, but I don't like it raw ;) Salad has never been my go-to. But with all the leftover Spring Mix and Cucumbers, I'll be sautéing them and eating them with either rice or wraps.(Not sure yet). The tofu was so reminiscent. I haven't made tofu in months and Sweetgreen came through with how they prepare theirs. Definitely could have more seasame seasoning, but still enjoyable nevertheless. And the broccoli and rice were the only warmed up toppings in the bowl. The cashew dressing was mf morphine. So dam addictive! Can't really describe the taste, but the dressing is very good. It's the equivalent to Chick-fil-a sauce, hahaa. As a wrap, I enjoyed my custom bowl, gonna eat the rest when I feel like it, and Rosemary Focaccia bread for president! :)

I got a salad here and it was fine. It really wasn't that special. I wouldn't come back here. I would be just as happy getting a salad from the grocery store.

Harvest bowl 9.89/10- shredded kale, wild rice, chicken, sweet potatoes, apple, goat cheese, almonds all tossed in a balsamic dressing. So good! Incredibly flavorful, does not feel like you're "eating a healthy salad" it's more comforting. Actually really like the apples in the salad which I was a bit skeptical about at first but all the ingredients complement each other perfectly. The pieces of chicken are quite big and the sweet potato is so good. A bit too much goat cheese and dressing for my liking even though I asked for light but overall this is such a good bowl and I always find myself getting the harvest bowl of all their salads offered..

I ordered delivery and my miso salmon salad was exceptional! Super tasty and healthy too. Highly recommend!

Every sweetgreen I've ordered from has been great. I doordashed from this location a couple times and the the delivery times are always close to an hour. I got my usual order, the harvest bowl. Along with a side of hot roasted sweet potatoes and rosemary focaccia. I've tried other salads on the menu, but the harvest bowl is just so satisfying and delicious. It has kale, wild rice, chicken, apples, sweet potato, goat cheese, and a balsamic vinaigrette. It's so good!! The rosemary focaccia is also a huge level up from the brown bread they serve for free. The roasted sweet potatoes I got came with a hot honey mustard sauce that tasted almost like Chick-fil-A sauce. Everything tasted fresh and delicious, I'll be a forever customer of sweetgreen.

Started my Monday off right with their Chicken Pesto Parm! Added the pickled carrots + celery for an extra sumn sumn! I love this spot in particular because every time I come in to pick up my order they greet me with a warm "hello!" It never fails. Pick up is super easy, you just go into the second entrance they have and they already have your to-go order on deck labeled with your order name on it. After selecting yours, guide yourself to the utensil + napkin section. Quick & easy process. It's located in downtown LA, so you already know what the parking is looking like.

Build your own salad with green goddess ranch. I chose not to add meat but Salmon would have been pretty good. P approves!

Does one write a review for Sweetgreen? I do I guess, love this place. They accommodate everything. They're the best. Stop, just get the salad. Also top secret, one time I forgot my wallet on complete accident and this man gave me a $16 salad for free because he said "people gotta eat", king behavior.

Salads here are FANTASTIC. Consistently. Compared to other joints in this city (I'm looking at you, Tender Greens!) truly top-notch. There's something about the combination of fresh, quality ingredients including variety of greens + amazing dressing that just make these so hard to beat. Prices are comparable to every other salad place. I've been hooked on Guacamole Greens from my very first visit. Last week I tried the Garden Cobb. So tasty. I hate blue cheese but they make it so it's easy to swap some ingredients if need be. During quarantine, I've migrated to their easy online/app ordering. At this location, James has been the FOH guy outside and is always friendly, caring, informative. Nice work! To both him and the rest of the staff at this location (8th + Hill).

This feels like what would happen if Elon Musk ran take out salad restaurant. Today I ordered the Miso Salmon online using the app which indicated it should be ready at 1:15PM. I walked over and despite the fact that at 1:15PM the app said it was ready there was no sign of the order. I asked the harried person behind the counter who said they would look and piled up with the other five folks waiting for their orders. Ten minutes later (at 1:25PM) they handed me my order. I walked back to the office, opened it up, and... no salmon - the container had only a half an avocado, some sliced cucumbers and some rice. The app has no option to call anyone so I started a chat which was handled by a robot that got into a logical loop and eventually stopped responding. Fortunately I have Sweetpass which is the monthly subscription which for a fee offers "enhanced customer service". It turns out that enhancement is that you can email them and they'll get back to you within 6 hours. I still haven't heard back... cancelling Sweetpass, deleting my account and never coming back.

I love SG but this will be the last time I order from this location. Twice now my order has not been ready for over 20 min after the promised time. I agree with the other reviews that it is basically a cattle call where you just have to stand there and wait for your name, meanwhile walk ins are getting their salads in 5 min. Today I finally got my salad, walked back to my office to eat it and it was bone dry..they forgot the dressing! That was another 10 min trip back to beg them for one second of their time to get my dressing. And I just wasted my entire lunch break and can't even eat it now so big thanks!!

Think twice before ordering take out from this location. They continue to not include my dressing , making for an inedible salad.

The only reason the downtown Los Angeles location gets at least two stars is because I generally like Sweetgreen's products. However, The customer service at this particular store is consistently subpar, and the workers continuously demonstrate a bad attitude towards customers. Apparently, rude is the new "normal." Last time I visited this location, on March 17, 2023 @ 5:15 pm, I walked into the store and remained standing at the bar for seven minutes as I tolerated the following service: 1) No one approached me or acknowledged me for the full seven minutes I was standing there; 2) No one explained whether they were busy or on lunch break; 3) The manager, of all people, was joking around and showing off his awful Cumbia back step in full view of me; 4) When I did finally ask for the manager, this is how I found out this God-awful individual dancing in front of me and fully ignoring me was that person. As the manager finally and begrudgingly served me, his attitude was surly as if I was appropriating HIS time. I was disgusted. He is supposed to be the pinnacle example for his employees. Yet, his leadership is well below average and I understand why the other workers' attitudes reflect his own. It's unfortunate that this is the new norm at this level for food serve.

Yummy healthy salad or healthy food. My first time at sweetgreen I tried their one of the bowls from their prefixed menu. But ever since I tried my friends build your own that has been my go to. My go to protein is the portobello mushroom (I'm not a vegetarian) but their portobello mushroom is very good. And my go to dressing is the spicy cashew dressing. Parking can be a bit rough since it's all street parking but you can always preorder online so that it's ready and you can grab and go. This place offers an easy dinner fix. Healthy and yummy.

Parking was hard to find (there is street parking) so we just paid for parking lolol. The staff was super friendly and helped me decide what to order as I have never been here before. we got the rustic tomato harvest bowl and the hot honey chicken with two drinks (kombucha and hibiscus tea) which totaled $40 (0_o). we ate outside and the staff sanitized the table for us which was awesome :D I loved the food, but the cost & lack of free accessible parking knocked down the overall rating. staff was 6/5 they were so nice c: HOT HONEY CHICKEN: (4/5) - ok they really know how to curate the perfect balance of flavors & textures without doing too much. The sauce is not spicy, just tastes like a good honey mustard, and the roasted nuts / sweet potatoes were such a good combo with the chicken, quinoa and kale. this was basically just chicken mixed in the dressing & other ingredients (not really a salad i would say), which was a lot of protein for me and i was pretty full after finishing. but it was delicious!! i didn't feel like i was just eating chicken if that makes sense. I liked dipping my complimentary sourdough slice in the leftover sauce. RUSTIC TOMATO HARVEST BOWL: (5/5) - JUST TRY THIS. PLEASE. its so yummy. fuuuudgggeeee its so good. my god. ughhhhhhhhhh the roasted tomatoes were fun little packages of flavors, with the goat cheese pairing really nicely with everything else (kale, wild rice, nuts, etc). guys. this salad? made me like kale. i hate kale.... but this??? the kale tasted soooo fresh and not bitter!!! ofc i loved the balsamic dressing or whatever it was bc i generally love balsamic salad dressings. this bowl .... was just a GOOODDDD COMBO of flavors and textures. would def get again. it wasn't even mine it was my boyfriends and i just kept stealing bites from his lolol, COST: ????/5 - idk what i was expecting from a salad place in LA like i knew and expected to spend like $15 on a salad here and yet my brain did not compute how the total was $40 for 2 salads and 2 drinks looool. if i was an influencer in LA i would literally eat this everyday gahhhhh yummy yummy. that is why i had to knock off some stars because even tho it was sooo yummy & staff was super nice, i cant justify spending that much fjaklwejflk. anyways would i ever come here again? probably not i don't have a job but ... i dream of sweetgreen...

I took a break from Sweet Green for over a month which I didn't think would happen but discovered a few other alternatives in the area such as Mendocino Farms and Tocaya. Sweet Greens used to be my daily spot this summer but the last time I dined here prior to this weekend I had a disappointing customer service experience so I started trying new restaurants with better salad options. Yesterday, I ordered the Curry Cauliflower, today I had the Chicken Brussel Sprout salad and today's bowl was much more satisfying than yesterday's choice. However, I noticed a HUGE decline in customer service at this location. The two reps who served me both yesterday and today around 3-4PM did not seem like they wanted to be there and one of my first impressions of Sweet Greens that kept me coming back was that everyone that helped me was happy to be there. What the heck happened guys and gals? Y'all hate your jobs now? I miss the old crew and because of these half assed experiences I had the last few times, I probably won't be going back. Not to mention!! Ughhhh.....I got sick from their salad! The chicken Brussels sprouts bowl gave me the runs, it's all I ate today and I have never, ever gotten sick from this place the many, many times I've dined here. I used to come here probably 3-5 times a week. It's definitely lost its lustre!
