Where To Eat And Drink In Foggy Bottom - Washington DC - The Infatuation

"Go to Sweetgreen to feel better about your weekend food and alcohol binge. If you’re coming at peak times, definitely order ahead using their app. It’ll save you both time and the embarrassment of uttering, “The Beets Don’t Kale My Vibe, please” - but your dressing will come on the side." - Sandra Rubinchik

I come to Sweetgreen when I’m in the mood for a healthy salad, but want something more than just lettuce and dressing. Their bowls are always delicious, packed with flavor and variety. While the prices are on the higher side, the quality makes it worth it. The location itself is nice with plenty of seating if you prefer to dine in, though I usually get my salad to go. The store is generally clean, and my order is usually ready on time. That said, I’ve had a few experiences where the staff was less than helpful, and I’ve noticed some moments of discourtesy toward customers. I hope they improve in that area, but overall, I still enjoy the food!

Google
Came here on a Saturday night around 6:30. The store was empty so I was able to get my order made quickly and the staff was nice. However, they were out of white rice at the time which was disappointing. Also, for how expensive it was the portion size was extremely disappointing. The beef tasted dry and the meal tasted bland as a whole.

Katherine

Google
I paid extra for other toppings and they weren’t included . In addition, it was the smallest portions I’ve ever seen from sweet green. When we picked it up, all the employees were just relaxing hanging out in the back while one girl was trying to handle everything. I should’ve looked at reviews before because it looks like we aren’t the only ones with this experience.

Chantel Tinker

Google
I paid 21.25 for the meal, excluding DoorDash full pricing for everything else. I guess I should have built my own bowl but I still think the portion/price ratio would still have been bad. The sweet potato side didn't even fill the whole container itself. If I'm gonna pay to add broccoli, I think I should actually have some in my meal?? Everything tastes fine but the price altogether is just crazy. For $21+ the bowl should be filled as an actual meal and not an appetizer. Another overhyped business.

Google
Worst service ever in USA, Mainly behaviour of staff and food. NOT RECOMMENDED TO VISIT THIS STORE👹👹👹👹 I ordered the chicken pesto and make your own, staff was careless not responding and didn’t include anything, they added few leaves, brown colored bread, and it costs more. We are tourists, wasted our time. Reaching this store. In the main city Washington DC, there is no Respect and right to communicate to order a food. Bunch of staff sitting on table and chit chatting, no even responding. Carelessly just say “not understanding your English” not even trying to take order And this not my first time to sweet green I visited in New York near dumbo point, Florida near wynwood walls, etc

Olya Scott

Google
Another fabulous dinner spot here in DC. I loved the dish that I got tonight I have never had trout before and the Almond crusted rainbow trout was FABULOUS. The service was quick. The server was friendly and checked up on us after 15 minutes. The atmosphere was warm and friendly. Would absolutely come back!

Google
The definition of paying for a meal but getting a spitting amount of food. Their bowl keeps getting shallower yet the staff still is having a difficult time filling the shallow plate up. Under portioned sides. Paid extra to get 3 mini slices of apples is truly worth the experience.

Yvonne McManus

Google
First of all I stood there for over 5 minutes to.order while there was 4 staff members standing by register laughing and talking. Then the 1 lady behind the food station finally greeted me. Secondly I dont know if any shellfish was near as i am allergic or something was bad in the chicken pesto. But I have been sick 30 minutes after eating. It has been 5 hours and am still sick with vomiting and extreme stomach pain. I will NEVER go back to that location

Yelp
Sweetgreen at Foggy Bottom is a "Clear Top" choice! My partner and I are visiting from out of town and just came from the Pentagon/ 9-11 Memorial (BEAUTIFUL). We were looking for places to eat that fit our lifestyle and saw this place come up. We ordered the Shroomami bowl and O.M.G. It was love at first bite. They also have a Vegan Rosemary Focaccia which was SO GOOD! I'm thankful they have non-meat items AND this place is also environmentally conscious (see pics). I highly recommend this place if you are looking for something unique, DELICIOUS, satisfying and eco-friendly. There are plenty of indoor and outdoor seating options. They have two restrooms which you need a code for. The staff are friendly and helpful. So go on and try some "sweet greens"!

Yelp
I was visiting DC for work and my coworker and I wanted to try sweetgreen as we don't have this chain at home. As we played tourist on a Monday evening we found this location in the middle of George Washington University around 7:30 pm on a Monday night. I chose the Crispy Rice Bowl for the thai like flavors with cilantro, carrot, cashew dressing, and fresh lime squeeze. The crispy part of the bowl was due to roasted almonds and crispy rice. This bowl was exactly what I was expecting and was pretty good. Everything tasted very fresh and full of flavor. I liked how they tossed/chopped the salads and bowls to mix all of the ingredients for you. Also the included piece of bread and the fresh lime squeeze were nice touches. One tip - the sweetgreen drink options weren't appealing so we actually went down the block to Whole Foods to purchase a drink.

Audrey B.

Yelp
Ordered the Shroomami and they wait to tell me until I get to the protein line that they were out of mushrooms. So I pairs full price for a salad missing the primary ingredient - if they had told me at the beginning I would have ordered something else. the bowls are way to expensive to gyp customers.

Arielle E.

Yelp
I love this sweetgreen location - for me, their "medium" pour of dressing is perfect and the staff and super nice and friendly. Highly recommend coming here. The ingredients for the bowls and salads are so fresh, my two favorite bowls are the Chicken Avocado Ranch and the Kale Caesar.

Yelp
I came to the location on I St, NW. I was very disappointed in the customer service today. I was not served at today. I was spoke to the gentleman. However the young lady in black head dress did not even acknowledge me. She decided to look at her cell phone. This is very disrespectful and bad customer service. This happened at 12/27/24 @ 2:35 pm.

Douglas B.

Yelp
Terrible service from the 22nd & I Street location. I placed a simple Web order on a Saturday evening for the standard Hot Honey Chicken salad bowl for my wife and another for me for pickup. I drove to pick it up. Upon returning home, my wife opened the salad bowl and it was missing most of the key ingredients. There was NO chicken, and no salad dressing (See photo). I tried calling the store multiple times to report the error and get it corrected...not a single live person answered. Sweetgreen's only customer service option is to "text" their "customer experience team", which resulted in no response. No live person answering the phone? Is that really customer service at a national chain line Sweetgreen? I will not be ordering from this store ever again. I hope you don't suffer the same experience.

Yelp
I had an unpleasant experience and it wasn't really their fault. Here's what happened. Keep in mind I have been traveling all day, no snacks/drink on plane, got to DCA, majorly delayed there, took the metro to Foggy Bottom, and THEN got here. So I was already worn out and hungry (but not hangry). When I got to the store, it got really loud bc Circa next door is unbearably loud and annoying. So I was hoping to sit inside sweetgreen but it was (temperature) HOT inside. As I was going into the store, three other girls came in and got in front of me, and there was already a line. So I had to wait for service. (Not too bad of a wait). I got the Garden Cobb salad, same as the girl ahead of me. She got tofu and Green Goddess dressing. I wanted chicken and Green Goddess. I was not asked if I wanted any changes so I got exactly the Garden Cobb with Balsamic (default), which I don't love. So, my salad had no meat in it, ok. Then when I went to pay, I got an iced tea and that jacked up the total to $17. For a salad with no meat, not the dressing I like, and an iced tea. The app didn't work so I paid with credit card. No receipt. No points. I sat outside and the only place that wasn't in total sunlight was by the trash. The trash was full and someone came out to empty it right as I was eating. So that was not optimal but there was no place for me to eat this really. People would come by to throw away their trash while I was eating. There is a second trash receptacle right by the other seats but people kept coming to the one near me. Finally, I sat down to eat and reflected on how loud it is from Circa (at 2pm on a weekday!), which is right up against sweetgreen, separated by hedges. Within the sweetgreen area, there was a family of 8 with kids. They did NOT bother me per se, just saying it was not peaceful or calm. Also, GWU hospital is nearby so the ambulances come by a every few minutes (thank u first responders though). The salad tastes good at least. A little caustic. Bread was not good. So, this was not the atmosphere or the food I wanted. Also, I am annoyed that the green tea I got had soba (buckwheat). That is a totally unnecessary thing to put in a tea.

Yelp
Wonderful location! Came here for food multiple times during my recent trip to DC. As expected of any sweetgreen the staff were helpful and the salads came out quick. They were also generous with the toppings here which is much appreciated!

Yelp
Sweetgreen generally makes a solid, tasty salad. I have had a few subpar experiences at this particular location, but the most recent salad order was good! I recommend ordering ahead so your food is ready when you get there. And I always like to get the salad mixed by them so that it is not a mess trying to mix the ingredients on your own. I ordered the shroomami for my partner and the pesto chicken parm salad for me. Both salads were fresh and flavorful. I particularly like the little kick of spiciness to the parm salad. I will be back again for sure.

Yelp
sunday 6 pm- does not compare to my Sweetgreens in carlsbad California which I often eat at . already out of wild rice and pesto vinaigrette. Lots of slimy green lettuce in my harvest bowl. Thought that they were closing soon but they do not close until 8 pm. No excuses for menu items missing at 6!

Yelp
I'm in! Hit the spot!! Dressing on the mark. Good taste. I'd get again. Guacamole Greens Salad
google avatar

Georgia O.

Yelp
I love sweetgreeeen! The harvest bowl has been my tried and true choice for years, but I love trying all the other bowls especially the seasonal. This time I had the harvest bowl and peach & goat cheese summer salad. I substituted the kale for mixed greens in both. Your bowl comes with a slice of bread should you like. I also really like the spicy cashew dressing and will substitute it onto the harvest bowl or others. You can order ahead and pay on the app or pay by card in person but i believe all Sweetgreen are cashless.

Yelp
This location is nestled within the GW campus. This is a unique salad concept much different than what you'll experience at places like Cosi, Panera, salad works, etc. Lots of unique combinations. There's an entire wall of greens that are fresh and locally sourced. I chose the salad with the chicken and brussels sprouts and sweet potato which is not a combination I would put together on my own but ended up being quite tasty. You get a decent amount of salad and there's a good selection of beverages. Lots of vegan options as well. Overall there's no way you can really be dissatisfied with the experience. There's a sufficient amount of both indoor and outdoor seating and the outdoor seating has heating overhead.

Kate M.

Yelp
I would never recommend this option for anyone with a food allergy. I have a serious shellfish allergy and told the person this. Nori was thrown on the salmon selection, without my knowing it beforehand. I had a food reaction and will not return.

Yelp
MISS THE GOOD OLD DAYS: This place used to be great before the corporate takeover. When the pandemic first had us in its grip they pulled the loyalty rewards from their app (a free salad in every eight or so) and continue to claim (almost 2 years later) that they're updating it and will go back to it. As Warren Buffet states custom service is the number one measure of a companies worth -- Sweetgreen has gone in the opposite direction -- I would never invest in this company and am now much more inclined to shop more frequently at their competitors such as Cava, Rasa, Chipotle who do offer loyalty rewards/care about their customers. The best they can do these days is the very occasional five dollars back if you make a single purchase of $25 or more but that discriminates against those who are single or just want to go in and get themselves a quick salad...while also encouraging their customers to purchase more which of course is in Sweetgreen's interest...

Yelp
sweetgreen is a beloved DC area local fast casual salad chain that's gone nationwide. Unlike its competitor, Chop't, it still feels and tastes healthy. They source their ingredients from local farms and a sign tells you where it comes from each day. Every season, they swap out salads to ensure their current items are sourcing the freshest ingredients. To that end, you can choose one of their custom salads or create your own. A few favorites: the harvest bowl in the fall and the pesto chicken parm salad in the spring. Each is full of flavor and still less calories than most other meals. They also brew better for you iced teas and lemonades. They also serve froyo. Random, I know, but sometimes you need some good, healthy froyo after a salad.

Yelp
I love sweetgreen! My friend introduced me to it when we went out for lunch. I usually get the guacamole greens which I absolutely LOVE! I got the chicken tostada once (warm bowl) but I didn't really like it. They are pretty quick at taking orders, which is great because during lunch the line sometimes goes out the door. I didn't give them 5 stars because: - they didn't include the chicken in my chicken tostada that I had ordered on the app and also forgot to add chicken to my greek goddess salad. I wasn't able to check till I was on the metro or at my next class...so that was pretty disappointing.

Olivia F.

Yelp
I've never left a bad review before. But am extremely disappointed. I love SweetGreen and usually go to this one, however today I was served a bowl with raw quinoa. I took one bite before realizing & hope I don't get food poisoning. Will not be returning to this location.

Isabel J.

Yelp
Generally love Sweetgreen, hate this location - employees do not change their gloves between customers, do not use tongs to grab salad, touch trash cans then the food, refuse to serve you if you ask them to make a modification, etc. The employees here are some of the worst service workers I have ever come across. The woman making my salad today gave me an immense amount of attitude and actually yelled at me and called me a bitch as I grabbed my salad from her. The manager did not seem to care or apprehend her.
google avatar

Siena F.

Yelp
I am not a huge salad fan, but when I am in the mood I definitely appreciate having a sweet green so close! They don't skimp on any of the ingredients. I recommend a CYO with romaine, corn, broccoli, onions, blackened chicken and Cesar dressing. The choices are all surprisingly low cal for their serving size.
google avatar

Tserendorj S.

Yelp
Horrible customer service, i don't know how you guys treat your employees but this isnt right! A barbaric attitude from workers this is not how you guys treat customers how you guys going to run a busses, place closes at 9pm restrooms locked at 8:30pm why you guys even have restroom then ? If there was option give a less than 1 star i would give negative stars i wouldnt even think twice
google avatar

Laura M.

Yelp
Such good food!! Only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is that they do not accept cash and I also feel like prices are a bit high! Also staff didn't seem too happy to be there but it was late and probably near the end of their shift.
google avatar

Charlotte D.

Yelp
Sweetgreen is amazing! The staff are nice and easy to talk with. They can get you whatever you want for your salad/meal! I've tried both the Guacamole Greens salad and their Miso Bowl and both are really yummy. Thank you!
google avatar

Bárbara H.

Yelp
Sweetgreen never disappoints. The salads are fresh and delicious, many times I order by the app and pick up at the store and that's really cool because you avoid the line. I love to make my own creations and it's amazing because you have a lot of options and ingredients. Good choice if you want healthy food
google avatar

Mitt N.

Yelp
Great green heaven. At many levels of meaning. I had the fish taco bowl, but don't expect anything like the traditional fish taco. Steelhead (trout), arugula, cilantro, quinoa. But there were tiny flakes of taco chips(?). The dressings were wonderful, so it was an excellent combination of fresh greens, green-friendly, in the middle of George Washington University.
google avatar

Yelp
Great location in NW! Friendly staff, new huge bowls here compared to what I normally get in nyc. They offer crab here which is new to me too. Outdoor seating, great vibe on the street, love this place! PRefer this location over the one on 5th.

Christina H.

Yelp
Food is very good, service was average. Overall, would recommend! I love the offerings they have and how easy it is to pick out what you like, pricing was very good for the city too.
google avatar

Willie R.

Yelp
I came to this Sweetgreen today to grab a Guacamole Greens salad (my favorite) and I must say it was the fastest Sweetgreen experience I've ever had anywhere! I was lucky that there wasn't a long line and was quickly greeted by a friendly guy, who prepped my salad in what I'm pretty sure was record time. The restaurant was clear, the ingredients were fresh (honestly, I could probably eat a Guac Greens every day), and the checkout process was quick. Maybe 4.5 minutes from start to finish. I'm all about this life!
google avatar

Yelp
Loved sweetgreen a few years ago, ate it way too much, and now I'll never go back. Something about the chicken just absolutely sets me off. I think I have taste aversion. Some of my favorites used to be the kale caesar (without the kale because ew) and the harvest bowl. Also used to make my own salad, which was quite expensive. Not worn the long lines at lunch. Also, I absolutely hate the way sweetgreen smells. It is completely unappetizing. Also how it gets steamy and visibly looks steamy when it's cold outside. There's literally condensation on the windows because it's so hot indoors. Off putting to say the least. I think I'll continue avoiding sweetgreen like the plague.
google avatar

Bettina R.

Yelp
I so love it when eating virtuously tastes this good. In the spirit of full disclosure, I should say that I have not ventured far beyond my usual Curry Gold salad (with goat cheese, natch). Cubed beets, cucumbers, slivered almonds, dried cranberries, and roasted chicken breast atop a bed of baby spinach dressed in yogurt-pineapple dressing? Yes, please. Points for making a distinction between light, medium, and heavy amounts of salad dressing. Light, always--no soggy spinach for me. (#fussyhb in full effect.) I don't get the comments about the salads being small. I can EAT, and I always struggle to finish them. They're ginorm! And extra points for the crusty bread they serve with the salad. Mmm, bread. So it's true, the salads here don't run cheap. I don't really care about that, because you're paying for high-quality (and often local) ingredients. I'll throw down for that any day, especially if it's this tasty. Nicely done, Sweetgreen. Keep it coming.
google avatar

Laura G.

Yelp
I'll be honest; I didn't order a salad from Sweetgreen as much as I ended up stealing half of my friend's Curry Gold salad when I met her there for a quick bite. The salad is bigger than your head, so splitting it was actually perfect. It was delicious, and I don't really even morally support eating beets. And after spending several days eating all of the things in DC whilst on vacation there, it was nice to have something light and fresh to eat out on their patio (the inside of the restaurant seems way too small to really dine in, and it was a nice day besides the woman who decided to sit right there and smoke a cigar at 11 am. Who does that?).

Yelp
Summary - when Im hungry but want to eat a relatively healthy meal, I like to have my sweet green. Meals are wholesome and well priced. All branches are good. Have tried several of the options. Shroomami was awesome. Rockets in pesto portebello is yum. Love that you can ask for a few variations and they won't charge extra. Pros Healthy Healthy Hearty Cons Can't say really. :o

Yelp
I don't know if the salad was 4 stars good or is it that I'm just happy to have a new place to go for lunch? Well anyways, I will be back to let you know. Directly across the street from the Foggy Bottom Metro Sweetgreen is one of 3 restaurants that have been added to this block. I had the August Salad with Chicken. This consisted of finely chopped greens, purple onion, some other salad veggies, water melon, a little hot sauce, and basil dressing. I thought it was pretty good as far as salads for lunch come. Just don't expect to leave feeling like you won't need your afternoon snack. By the way they serve their salad with a really good slice of fresh whole wheat bread. The lemonade was freshly squeezed and lemony sweet. All of their drinks are splendid virgin cocktails. I went back the next day and had the tart frozen yogurt with a coworker friend. I topped mine with granola, chocolate chips, and strawberries. Hey! Where are the sauces? I don't need it to be that healthy? I personally do not prefer the tart, it wasn't bad, but plain old vanilla would hit the spot. The customer service is great and the lines are organized with an express line just to get frozen yogurt. I really like the patio seating for the summer. Indoor seating is limited.
google avatar

James L.

Yelp
Come here for lunch a lot. I always order ahead. 90% of the time everything is perfect. When food is a bit late or I have an issue with my order it's generally sorted out.
google avatar

Amanda J.

Yelp
I love Sweetgreen. The Kale Ceasar salad keeps me going a lot, and the chain itself is great. But the service here is so exceptionally bad. One week my salad is huge, the next it isn't even half of the bowl. Out of an ingredient on the bar? No one goes to the back to get it unless you ask, they just skip over giving it to you. Many of the employees are clearly miserable, and the lines are always so slow to move. I have just started going to Whole Foods for their prepared food bar. It's the same price. The line takes as long, but at least I get a better variety.
google avatar

Pegah Y.

Yelp
Decent, but not spectacular. I have to say that I am more a fan of Chop't (the other major salad chain in the DC area) than I am of Sweetgreen. I just don't think that Sweetgreen uses a lot of creative ingredients or varies up their menu too much. Whenever I've visited any Sweetgreen location, I usually end up ordering the Kale Caesar because none of the other options seem appealing to me. I've had their Guacamole Greens and Rad Thai salads in the past as well and have not been impressed. This time, I ordered the Kale Caesar once again. It came with: shredded kale + chopped romaine, tomatoes, shaved parmesan, parmesan crisp, roasted chicken, fresh lime squeeze, caesar dressing. It was decent (and better than my last experience with the salad, which was too warm and gross), but nothing spectacular. I had asked for them to go light on the dressing and it was still drenched. I could only finish half of it before feeling gross. My boyfriend ordered the Portobello, Squash, and Wild Rice bowl (organic wild rice + shredded kale, warm portobello mushrooms, butternut squash, caramelized onions, beets, basil, miso sesame ginger dressing) and liked it decently, but could also only finish half. My friend ordered the Guacamole Greens (organic mesclun, tomatoes, red onion, tortilla chips, avocado, roasted chicken, fresh lime squeeze, lime cilantro jalapeño vinaigrette) and seemed to like it a decent amount. Maybe it's because I'm ordering the wrong things when I visit, but I just have not been impressed by any of my 5+ visits to various Sweetgreen locations. Given the choice, I would stick with Chop't.

Yelp
What a wonderful place to get very interesting and tasty salads I had a warm pesto salad with chicken It was fast fresh and modestly priced A great value especially if you want to eat healthy I am going there again tomorrow

Yelp
First time here and my experience was good. The ladies were customer service friendly and patience. The Quality of their food was good. Very fresh and tasty. I wouldn't get the drinks they offer thou. I tried every last one... i just knew the watermelon lemonade was going to be the bomb... hey,lol . They just weren't good. lol I guess the drinks were organic also!

Yelp
Stopped by in a rainy day for lunch with a friend. Make sure you beat the lunch crowd and get their early if you want a seat because there aren't many tables. I opted for the kale Caesar but as we were at the end of the "build your salad" line, I was informed that they were out of chicken and would have any for another 15 minutes. This was at 12:15pm! How do you run out of one of the key proteins in the midst of your busiest time?!!! No worry, woman making the salad said I could substitute so I got shrimp and bacon. However, upon checking out I was charged extra for bacon! I didn't make a big deal of it but given their supply chain issues I thought they would have done a little something extra from a customer service perspective. However, the salad itself was delicious. The kale Caesar comes on a bed of romain and then they add kale and the other veggies. It was also plenty big and even though I ate it all, it could probably be enough to save some leftovers. We had to sit outside on a cold and rainy day (lack of space inside) but we made the best of it. Overall, a decent sweet green location once they work out the kinks and customer service issues.

Yelp
Healthy food close to the GWU. I've tried hummus tahini, since I was looking for something tasty in my salad. But, I was quite surprised by the small size of hummus (as a topping!), shouldn't that be larger considering that it is a hummus salad?! To be fair, the salad tasted good and fresh, but on the other side it wasn't that cheap ($12). generally, prices are not competitive comparing to the other places close-by, like roti and beefsteak.

Yelp
I'm a fan of DC's salad scene, so I consider another SweetGreen in my neighborhood a very welcome addition. Despite being new, their are relatively few growing pains at this location. Yes, there always seems to be a staffer or two in training, but that has yet to impact my salad or my satisfaction with my experience at the counter, aside from my salad taking somewhat longer to make. But that's easy to look over as each staffer seems attentive and pleasant. All around good people. Oh, and the layout is pretty cool too. There's ample indoor and outdoor seating, and the way the line snakes through the restaurant is pretty neat, as well: it delivers customers to a menu that takes up the majority of one wall before hooking left and bringing them to the counter.

Yelp
I needed a change from the Cosi's so I decided to try Sweetgreen. I went online and placed my order there. Glad I did because the line was at the door when I arrived to pick up my salad. The salads. Great choices. However, the nutritional info will scare away some of us health conscious folks. The sodium content in some of the salads are insanely high. You will have reached half of the recommended daily sodium intake with just one of these salads. After looking through them all, it left me with only 2 choices :-( The Sabzi and Guacamole greens. I went with the latter because I was I wanted some chicken. The ingredients are: mesclun with roasted chicken, avocado, grape tomatoes, red onion, crushed tortilla chips; topped with a lime cilantro jalapeno vinaigrette & a fresh lime squeeze. The dressing. oh my word. It has that pucker your lips effect. Great balance on tartness. I was a little disappointed in the tortilla chips. They had no crunch hardly to them. When I arrived, my salad was being made so it's not as if they had a chance to sit and absorb the dressing. If they can improve the chips, then I'm a happy customer glad to reorder it again. Otherwise, I'll shoot for the Sabzi salad. The bread was a nice accompaniment. Price. I think the price was a pinch too expensive for what I received. With tax we are talking over $10 for salad that's a nice size but I'd rather spend that at a restaurant that had linen on their tables. So if you wanna shell out the bucks for the salads, and don't mind having your blood pressure raised through the roof, you would be pleased here. You can also build your own salad but when I was finished building my own, the calorie count was upwards to 800. No thank you sir!

Yelp
I would have to agree with some of the other post about the staff. There are a few people who truly would love to be somewhere else. They don't greet you and to be honest the girl who started my salad looked high as a kite. I later heard her say she was taking her 15 and I think maybe she was tired and ready to take her lunch. I do expect a little more perk when I'm coming in there. The guy who rung us up was really pleasant though. He is always nice, maybe it helps since two salads and a drink ends up costing 24 bucks. At the same time, everything is so fresh compared to other salad places. I have been a long devoted fan of the District Cobb, even when they changed it to Kale. I don't like Kale, but honestly this is a great way to get it down for someone like me. My only complaint would be that the entire chain of stores should let you sub out chicken for shrimp without having to pay an upcharge. If I don't use chicken, why do I still have to pay for a salad that includes chicken and pay more for Shrimp? If I was to order it w/o meat the price stays the same. Maybe giving us an option would be cool too. I finally tried a new salad there the Guac Greens I liked it, but there was zero salt in there, and you could tell. This is great if you just want a plain salad. I would suggest, trying a new dressing or sprinkling a bit of salt in there. It needs something to break up the acidity of the tomatoes, lime juice and the lime on the dressing. I also love making my own salad there, but you have to be careful for the cheaper price you choose 4 veggies and the protien is what carries it over to a higher cost. If you're looking for a cheap meal, don't go plain and simple. Given the area, I don't think a lot of people complain. It's one of the few places to get a fresh salad other than Wholefoods, and anybody who visits that Whole foods knows that food on the salad bar and hot bar cost more than a sweetgreen's salad.

Yelp
Just went here for the first time on Saturday, July 8. I ordered the Kale Caesar with heavy dressing and tofu instead of chicken. It was sooooo tasty. I love kale and I'm definitely going to come back here. Fast service and friendly workers.

Yelp
I eat here weekly. Today I brought back my salad for wilted/rotting lettuce (hey, it happens), and after the person behind the counter ARGUED with me saying 'it's just the color of the lettuce', she gave me another salad- full of rotting lettuce. See pictures. Disgusted.

Yelp
I love sweet greens generous portions and fresh food. It's a bit pricey but worth it when you're craving a quick salad to go.

Yelp
Beware of this Sweetgreen!! I eat at Sweetgreen probably 3-4 times a week between the foggy bottom location and others across the city. This one has BY FAR the worst service of any of them. Poor service, always out of ingredients, and a staff that clearly doesn't know what they are doing. They are constantly out of ingredients and don't refill when low. They were out of the pickled veggies and decided to just skip them until i said something. the next trip in they were low on breadcrumbs in the container. rather than stopping to fill them up, they gave me a quarter serving. i asked for more and they put maybe another quarter in. In addition, not that I expect anyone to be incredibly friendly or excited to make a salad, the people who work here are rude and clearly do not care about their job. there's a reason this SG location has some of the worst ratings of any in DC. SG - please get this location cleaned up. You're better than this.

Yelp
Ordered the Harvest bowl for lunch. I think a different type of green would've gone better with the flavor profile of this bowl, it really overpowered everything else in a bad way. The balsamic it comes with also didn't fit the palette in my opinion, a sweeter glaze would've brought everything out. Good portion & arrived quickly, I'll be back but will get something different next time.
