Swine & Sons has been popular for a very long time, but there are so many popular places in Orlando, that I just hadn't gotten to it until recently. As a recurring character on the annual Michelin Guide, I fast forwarded things, and came here during one of my breaks during the Fringe Festival.
The ambiance is beautiful, because it's nestled inside the beautiful Foxtail Coffee shop. Check my review of that for a description. Service was also great, as all the staff were all working together and was the same wonderful staff as the aforementioned Foxtail. No issues. A friendly bunch in a friendly space.
As for the food, oh my goodness. Talk about style And substance. The good was definitely IG fodder, but it was also delicious, well-crafted, and well worth the reasonable price tag.
I had the Chiang Mai Hot Chicken (fried Bell & Evans thigh meat finished with an aromatic blend of Northern Thai spices & topped with with sweet & sour pickled papaya & herbs). A huge piece of chicken thigh, well fried and well sauced, very unctuous. It's so flavorful that all it needs to make it perfect is the papaya and herbs. And it's all finished off on an actually properly sized bun. Perfect sando.
I also got the chance to sample the Simple Man Smashburger (double smashpatties, American cheese, garlic dill pickles, marinated tomato, lettuce, secret sauce). Another great sandwich. Well seasoned smashpatties, a great amount of fresh veg, those marinated tomatoes that just pop with acid and flavor in your mouth. Lovely lovely.
Overall, this place was pretty special. For people being drawn to it via Michelin, they won't be disappointed. Very nice place.
