Yelp
Swissbakers has a lovely view, and is great for working. Their bakery items are good, and the coffee also good enough. The staff was friendly.
The interior has a food court like vibe of tables and chairs, and isn't super warming as one might expect of cafes and bakeries. However, this is offset by its fantastic windows and lighting. Also, the space inside is large, which is a great change of pace from average bakeries. There is a separate room inside for work, and is clearly geared for students to study (the bakery has close proximity to the Harvard Business School.) However, given business hours close at 2pm, it isn't fully student friendly either.
Food was alright. The Berliner donuts were a bit dry in comparison to other donut shops like Union square. The taste and texture reminded me more of Dunkin Donuts.
The rest of their bakery items have great aesthetic value, but taste wise are hard pressed against competition like Tatte and others. The price point isn't terribly high, but high enough that the taste felt a bit lacking. Of these, the Linzer cookie stood out as a highlight to me.
I found their coffees also to be alright, with the only great option being the London Fog Latte.
I haven't tried sandwiches, but would be interested too. All in all, a pleasant experience which makes for a nice change. I hope someday there are more cheese fondue & rich chocolate options (best tastes of Switzerland) on the menu!
