The 18 Best Restaurants in Louisville, Kentucky | Eater

"Created as an homage to a former Louisville supper club of the same name, this retro-style restaurant atop the Galt House Hotel features two revolving sections, and diners all over the restaurant enjoy sweeping views of the city and the Ohio River. The menu covers prime steaks, sustainable seafood, local produce, and unique cocktails. For a fun, Derby City-specific experience, order the 1910 Old Fashioned, made with 1910 Old Forester whiskey and served in a box filled with smoke — an ode to the fire that took hold of the Old Forester distillery in 1910. If you drive: The Galt House Hotel consists of two towers. Swizzle — and its corresponding parking garage — are on the left as you turn onto Fourth Street." - Lennie Omalza

We came here for a friend’s birthday dinner. We had a separate room away from everyone which made it more intimate and nice for conversation on a busy Friday night. Our server was very attentive. Our cocktails were mediocre for the price. I had the salmon and it was on the salty side. My husband and many others in our party had steaks. For the price and acclaims for the what we all had, it was overpriced and overrated. Besides the company we had, the best part of the night was the view of the room. It was a one and done experience.

My first visit to Swizzle was a wonderful experience. Thanks to our reservations, we were seated right away. We chose this spot to celebrate my granddaughter's graduation, and the atmosphere perfectly matched the joyous occasion. The food was absolutely delicious, and our waitress provided exceptional service-warm, attentive, and kind. It was a memorable evening, and I would definitely return!💜

We had an incredible dining experience at Swizzle Dinner & Drinks! The view was spectacular. The Tomahawk pork was perfectly cooked and full of flavor — definitely a standout dish. The truffle shoestring fries were addictively good, and the crispy broccolini added the perfect touch of freshness and crunch to the meal. Everything was seasoned beautifully and served with great attention to detail. Our server, Peter, was fantastic — friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu. He really made the experience even better. Highly recommend Swizzle for anyone looking for a delicious meal with great service in Louisville!

We had dinner here to celebrate my Masters graduation. We wanted something unique to Louisville and Swizzle did not disappoint. We started with the small cold seafood platter including raw oysters, shrimp cocktail, ceviche, and tuna poke. All of it was perfect. I had scallops for my main entre and my husband had the strip. Everything was cooked perfect and had so much flavor. We had the mac and cheese and duck fat potatoes as sides. Both were wonderful, but the mac and cheese was over the top amazing. We finished with chocolate cake and banana cheesecake. Both were lovely and the cheesecake was our favorite. My husband had the bourbon flight, I had a golden gimlet, and we shared a bottle of red. All were very enjoyable and complimented our meal perfectly. We sat in the spinning dining area and it was a fun and unique experience! Our server was knowledgeable and attentive. Service was great and we enjoyed every aspect of the experience. Highly recommend if you're in the area!

This was a stop on our walking food and drink downtown tour. The chocolate cake slice was huge and the smoked old fashions were very good too. The views from the top of the hotel are amazing and you can see the river. The restaurant also spins very slowly.

Google
Great restaurant that didn't break the bank. The food here was great and the atmosphere with enjoyable. I know every restaurant has there days but this was not really there day for me and my group. It seemed like it took the food extra long to make it to the table by over an hour without the please being full. The mixologist behind the bar makes a mean drink though. Maybe next time for me

Wife took me there for my birthday dinner, everything was awesome (Food, Service, Atmosphere). Our waitress Brittany was truly amazing. She was very friendly, very knowledgeable about the menu and gave really great suggestions with the drinks and the food. She made our experience at Swizzle very memorable.

Google
Had an absolutely gorgeous happy hour evening here! Me and two of my girlfriends grabbed a table in the bar area for happy hour (4:30-6:30) and decided to split a few bites and have a couple drinks. We ordered the seafood nachos, two rounds of the gnocchi tots because they were so good, and the warmed burrata. Treyvon (spelling?) and Sam took care of us and the service was really the star of the show here. We ordered cocktails off the menu to start (happy hour features $2 off signature cocktails) and they were delicious, complex, and well-balanced. Sam came over to inquire about our next round saying we could "get a little crafty." We had a lot of fun telling him the flavors and vibes we were going for and having him come up with cocktails for us. We ended up with drinks like a gin rosewater martini (!!!!) and a mezcal cosmopolitan. When he delivered the drinks, he was so sure that he wanted us to love them and made us be super honest to ensure that we truly loved what we were drinking. The views and overall atmosphere of the restaurant were beautiful, and would be a great dinner date night spot, but it was also incredibly fun to sit in the bar area with friends and enjoy the interactive experience. We left feeling like we couldn't have gone to a better place for a better experience. The food was good, but the service and craftsmanship from Treyvon and Sam really drove it home!

Yelp
Came into Louisville for work and somehow lucked into a business dinner reservation at Swizzle, aka the best view in the city, hands down! This place sits at the top of the Galt House and revolves, giving you a slow 360° panoramic tour of downtown, the Ohio River, bridges, barges, you name it. Pro tip: make sure you get a table by the window and at sunset. Totally worth it! Since we were in Kentucky, we started things off the right way...with a bourbon flight. We also went all in on the smoke box old fashioneds made with Four Roses. I'm not a normal Bourbon drinker so it was fun to experience. Started with wedge salads, classic, cold, and loaded with blue cheese and bacon. For mains, most of us went with the 8oz filet. One of my coworkers got the pork tomahawk chop, which I had to sample, and It was incredible! My filet came with a whole squeezable clove of roasted garlic which was a nice touch. For sides, we shared grilled asparagus and sautéed spinach, both solid, well-seasoned, and didn't feel like an afterthought. Desserts...We went big, of course!!! The bananas foster cheesecake was my favorite. We also tried the blackout cake, rich, chocolatey, and kind of a one-bite-and-I'm-done situation. Service was top-notch, timing was smooth, and they didn't rush us even as the room slowly spun into nighttime city views. Definitely not a cheap meal, but if you're in Louisville and want to impress clients or just yourself...this is the spot.

Yelp
We dropped in because my wife thought they had a rotating bar - nope, it's a rotating restaurant section. We stayed for drinks anyway. I had their Stings Like A Bee (an Ali quote) and my wife had a Smoked Bourbon. The smoked drink comes in a box full of smoke, to infuse the drink. It was very good. The Stings like a Bee tasted great as well. Next time, we'll make a dinner reservation. They had an excellent section of wine, solid service, and nice views of the north side of Louisville. Lots of good stuff here in the Galt Hotel on the 25th Floor!

Yelp
We were in town for the Barbie convention with a large party and were seated in the upstairs room, which had a nice view. However, it was insanely hot up there, which could've easily been remediated by the installation of a couple of small fans for example or improving the air conditioning. Things started off reasonably well - - the crabcakes appetizer was delicious - - however, my wife made the "mistake" of ordering her main course 15 minutes after the rest of the table since she was still having drinks and finishing her appetizer. Now one would expect in a restaurant with many dishes that are priced at over $100 that the kitchen manager would be able to prioritize her order so she could eat at the same time instead of having the food arrive over 30 minutes later. Then, instead of being apologetic, the waitress decided to debate with us the exact time of the order, and when we asked for the manager, he proceeded to do the same and make other excuses for why he wasn't doing his job. Also, the menu clearly stated for her $76 fillet XXV at the meal came with "sautéed mushrooms, asparagus,..." which for students of the English language or at least those that have a rudimentary understanding of it indicates that you're receiving two separate items and instead what came out was some sort of jumble of asparagus stalks. Everyone else at the table either got a nice serving of mushrooms or asparagus. At which point the manager wanted to debate that as well and ultimately we left unsatisfied overheated, and in general frustrated with what should've been a very high class luxury experience.

Yelp
This was a cool restaurant downtown in Louisville. We sat in the swizzle room where the floor circulated so you could see all the views outside. Very cool and unique set up. The food was pretty good. It's a little higher priced so it's good for special occasions and such.

Yelp
Oh I want to like this place so much. It's located on the 25th floor and slowly rotates so I'd recommend going in the fall or winter when the sun sets a bit earlier. The ambience is nice and our waiter was great. The bread here is phenomenal - soft and warm with good butter. The crispy broccolini in burrata is also quite good but unfortunately it stops there. The salmon was good though not special. The scallop dish was quite salty and the arugula salad was over seasoned. We also had mac and and cheese and shoestring fries, both of which had good texture but again holy salt bomb. You're going to need those water refills.

Yelp
Server was not attentive. Nothing special for Birthday dinner other than menu with Happy Birthday printed on it. Parking is not validated. The only thing is the view. Completely underwhelmed. Save your money, go to Jeff Ruby's

Yelp
Holy moly.... I'm not normally a hotel restaurant fan. This place surpassed all of my expectations. Portion size, flavor, delivery, service, ambiance, 12 out of 10 stars. Our table of three ordered filets, salmon, mashed potatoes, Mac and cheese, crab cake appetizer, and drinks. All were fantastic. The rolls were amazing too!

Yelp
We were here for the Derby so it was a limited menu. I didn't love the variety but understand why restaurants need to do this during special events. Overall, the food was good. The service was very nice and pleasant. We sat in the dining area with the rotating seating was pretty cool atmosphere overlooking the river.

Yelp
We had dinner reservations for 6:30 PM on a Tuesday night. The restaurant was packed which is always a good sign. We started our dinner with two appetizers: crab cakes and skewered meatballs. Our group enjoyed both. We were also served bread with a side of butter. Their bread was incredibly soft and delicious! There were 5 of us in our group. I had the salmon on herbed popcorn rice. The salmon was perfectly cooked and the rice was wonderfully flavored. Truly paired well. One of my colleagues asked for the filet mignon cooked medium rare. Unfortunately, it was medium well when it was served. She proceeded to eat it but we informed our wait person about the order. The Manager also came to our table and we mentioned what happened. He removed the filet mignon from the ticket and gave us complimentary desserts. He also offered to make it right by serving another piece of filet cooked the way she wanted it but she chose to forego the offer since it would have meant a longer wait. At any rate, they did the right thing which pleased our group. The restaurant rotates 360 degrees in an hour which is really cool. Everyone gets to see the wonderful view it has to offer. I truly enjoyed my experience at Swizzle. The food, the service and the company were top notch.

Yelp
We came here for a birthday celebration and it was my first time coming here. We were seated at the revolving floor, and even though it was rainy outside, we still very much enjoyed the view. It was definitely an experience. The cocktails here were excellent, I would tell them put a lot of thought to it. The food was also amazing! The location is right at the heart of downtown so it would be convenient to have dinner and then watch a show at yum center or at the actor theatre next time. We all liked the food, view and services, I would definitely return for another time.

Yelp
We dined here after my son's graduation. Everything was AMAZING. Peter was our waiter and he was a character. I'd definitely request his section if I visit KY again. Praveen was the gentleman who helped as well. He was very pleasant.

Yelp
LOVE LOVE LOVE SWIZZLE! As soon as you walk in you feel welcome doesn't matter if you're dining or just coming for the amazing happy hour! I highly recommend making a dinner reservation just to enjoy the rotating dining room floor to ceiling glass view. I have been to Swizzle several times and am excited to come back soon to celebrate a friend's 60th birthday! The service both dining in and at the bar are amazing. Drinks are prepared to perfection you won't be disappointed. Appetizers are well portioned and always tasty. The BURGER ahhhh as much as I'm looking forward to dinner that trifecta burger is incredible!!!! I'm actually staying at the hotel so I just might have to sneak over for a burger the day before our dinner party. Scallops were amazing, my friend ordered them twice! I'm wanting to try everything on the menu, next time I'm thinking lobster and the carnivore platter, if anyone wants to share or not haha! Both the mushrooms and green beans are fantastic I'll need to try those duck fat fried potatoes next! Yum! I promise next trip to Louisville I'll take more photos! It's such a beautiful bar and restaurant with the most amazing staff. Thank you!

Yelp
We really enjoyed our dinner at Swizzle! The views from the rotating dining room were fun and unique. We had the Carnivore Platter and Crispy Broccolini. The steaks were tender and seasoned very well!

Yelp
I had a wonderful time here at Swizzle Dinner and Drinks! Both the food and the drinks were just amazing! Very appropriate pricing and very high-quality. The service was quick and very diligent. The ambiance was very nice, cozy and warm. 5 stars.

Yelp
Four of us went to dinner at Swizzle while visiting Louisville. This restaurant is located on the top floor of the Galt Hotel. I had made reservations weeks before our arrival. Upon checking in, the three hostesses at the desk proceeded to direct us to the first table by the hostess stand in the wide hallway leading to the dining room. It was the worst table at the restaurant. When I expressed that I made reservations weeks in advance, and I didn't want to sit in the hallway, the three young women gave me an attitude. I was about to leave and spend our $$$ elsewhere. My friend, who is a manager at a high-end restaurant in Chicago, sought out the manager and within 15 minutes we were shown to a table within the dining room and a plus, in the rotating section of the restaurant, where you can enjoy the skyline of Louisville rotating 360°. I can't thank you enough Travis for the hospitality and a table within the restaurant. Our server was David, who provided impeccable service. The four of us started out with cocktails. I had the sting like a bee, which was a bourbon cocktail, delicious. We shared two appetizers, the grilled bacon and the meatball skewers. The grilled bacon was insane, a thick sliced piece of bacon served with a refreshing jam and chicharrons. The meatball appetizer had four small meatballs in a tomato sauce with melted mozzarella on top. The meatballs were small, soft and flavorful. My husband and I shared a watermelon salad. It was okay, it could have used more watermelon. Next, we ordered a bottle of wine for the table to share. For dinner, my husband ordered the Chilean seabass, which was perfectly cooked, moist and flaky. My friend and I split two entrées, the prime rib and the scallops. The prime rib was absolutely delicious and cooked to the perfect medium rare. The scallops were delicious, although there were only four on the plate for $58. I thought the price point was high for what was on the plate. The food at Swizzle is delicious, the atmosphere is nice, great cocktails and the service is on point. I will definitely be back again to enjoy a more leisurely dinner. We had to rush dinner because we had reservations at The Bar at Fort Nelson at Michter's. I definitely recommend Swizzle.

Yelp
A fantastic restaurant by all measures. Excellent location on the 25th floor of the Galt House's west tower with panoramic views of the city and the Ohio River. The rotating dinner floor that allows you to gradually make your way around the turntable at least twice over the course of a good meal is a great experience particularly at sunset. Our server was wonderful, engaging and helpful with great suggestions but never obtrusive. The drinks are good-- while a bit of a showpiece upgrade spectacle, the smoke-house old fashioned (with your choice of 3 bourbons depending on your tier/taste preference, I went with Four Roses) is well worth trying as it's fun to receive and better to drink! It's a strong old-fashioned with great taste and the smoke actually infuses the drink in a great way. Good selection of affordable beers, great wine list, and a TON of bourbon + other whiskey options this being Louisville. Most importantly, the food! A straightforward menu with top-shelf items. They have obviously fine-crafted that list to have just the things they can do best. I went with the sea bass which was terrific. Cooked and seasoned perfectly, served with sweet potato hash (chorizo, mushrooms and leeks). I also had a side of the Charred Broccolini (w/ tomato aioli) and the baked 3-cheese macaroni (both were terrific). My friends had the filet, duck fat potatoes, and orecchiette pasta. Everything was prepared superbly and there were zero complaints from any of us. It's not a "cheap" place to dine but the ingredients, quality, and service more than justify the price tag. Highly recommended, easily one of the best meals I've had in a long time.

Yelp
I was in town for a weekend of tasting bourbon with friends and Swizzle was a great way to end the trip! We looked up reviews prior to making reservations and found it to be a solid suggestion. We arrived at 8:00pm and chose to valet the car. It was $10 and that was reasonable compared to places we typically visit. Upon getting off the elevator, we were greeted by as friendly face and taken to our table. The view from the rotating dining room overlooked the river. It was fairly dark outside but still a nice view. Our server offered up some of her favorites as suggestions. We opted for the king Ora salmon and the filet. She recommended the BLT salad so we both chose that as a starter. While we waited on our dishes, we both chose a flight of bourbon to sample. I chose Blantons, E H Taylor and Buffalo Trace. For $28 they were pretty good sized pours. I've absolutely paid $20 for one pour of Blantons before so I was pleased with the price. The food was a solid 7/10. Not overly spectacular, but it had good flavor and was cooked the way we requested. Overall, it was a pleasant experience.

Yelp
My wife took us for a little getaway for our anniversary/Father's Day and the hotel room was great, we went to the swizzle on the 25th floor our waiter Slade was great my wife and I both got the 12oz prime rib and Au Ju sauce was definitely amazing, and then we were in one of the rotating rooms so we got to see a little bit of the city along with the Ohio river over all definitely recommend for anyone that wants to get away!
google avatar

Allison R.

Yelp
We went for drinks and apps..and the experience. We were seated before our reservation time and decided to sit in the rotating rotunda. The drinks were a little sweet for us, but good. Plenty of apps to choose from. Our waiter was knowledgeable and professional, and great at casual convos. It is a great place to take out of town guests at sunset.
google avatar

Taysha W.

Yelp
Ambiance: 10/10 The rotating floor allowed for a full view of the skyline. It was very romantic. When booking the reservation, be sure to request that area. Appetizers: 8/10 We had calamari and crab cakes. The calamari tasted better than it looked. The crab cakes were decent. Drinks: 10/10. Since I mentioned it was our wedding anniversary when booking, we got complimentary champagne. We were greeted with "Happy Anniversary" by lots of staff. That was special. My husbands drink was on the "experience" list.
google avatar

Kevin G.

Yelp
So you wanted to have dinner on the 25th floor and rotate while enjoying dinner. Swizzle is the answer! We were lucky enough to get a table on the platform so we got a 360 degree view of Louisville. The bread was so good I forgot to get a picture. At the table we had a wedge salad, calamari, crab cakes, tomahawk chop, Mac and cheese, and potato gnocchi. Our party of three shared it all except the bourbon flight. Reservations are a must, but it is worth the wait. Our wait staff was awesome. And when you can't eat it all you get a recyclable to go bag. Though pricey you have to treat yourself when away from home. It's never about pictures it always about new foods when traveling.

Janna H.

Yelp
Ambience and oh the rotating rooms - what a view. Our server was nice but a bit absentee. The precious lady who visited our table twice was a keeper! We had salads, baby kale and his was a great Caesar. Strong salads that were fresh and flavorful. The crab cakes were good but $23 for 2 - not that good! Redeeming factor was dessert. Oh that caramel cheesecake - so decadent. The praline glazed banana was a perfect accompaniment. Hubby got tiramisu and it was rich and enormous. If anything, go for the desserts, the views and the managers' colorful ensembles.
google avatar

Karen D.

Yelp
This wasn't their best performance. The view is stellar, the drinks fun, it's a great menu and the service staff is lovely. Sadly, the steaks were ordered medium-rare and all came out medium-well/well. Grey interior with a small amount of pink. Very dry. They were gracious and offered to make it right next time. But this is untenable for a steak house.

Tim

Yelp
oh boy, what a view and excellent service from Brittany. A must try! Elevated dining, but welcoming if you're more on the casual side. Expansive menu so choices for all
google avatar

Melissa C.

Yelp
Took the kids during vacation for a special dinner and it lived up to everyone's expectations.
google avatar

Chris H.

Yelp
Food was average. Okay meal. We ask for the steak to be medium rare and we got medium well. Don't get the crab dip, it's not worth it, lack flavor. The seafood platter was the best dish! Server was kind, but the speed of service was slow. The rotating was different and nice touch to the experience. It's a bit on the chilly side, so bring a jacket/sweater.
google avatar

Kaylee B.

Yelp
The food & drinks were very good here. We went here because we were staying at the hotel. It's a great abundance and view.
google avatar

Megan C R.

Yelp
Split the Prime Dry-Aged Bone-In Ribeye with truffle butter with my husband and it was one of the best steaks I've ever had. Split with 2 sides (duck fat potatoes which were meh.. and mushrooms that my husband loved). Views were beautiful and we had a great sunset from the rotating room! Drink list is just ok. Wish they had more wine by the glass and beer options (no draft) for my husbands sake but will say the choices were still good. No mocktails list unfortunately but our server had a fantastic recommendation I was very grateful for! I'm not gonna lie their bread is on point. We ended up getting more! I'd recommend going elsewhere for dessert but their dessert/after dinner drinks looked great! Would likely make a nice spot for an business meetup/celebration or bring clients to but for us made a great date night for something different!

Yelp
This place spins and gives you a great view of louisville. It's located at the top of the Galt house. They are pretty booked out but were able to accommodate us as a walk in. I got the chicken dish. The portion size was huge and it was accompanied by fresh vegetables. I also got a drink I didn't quite enjoy but the server noticed and was quick to get me one of the best old fashioned I'd had in louisville. The prices are definitely high but for the view, ambiance, and service it seems worth the visit.

Yelp
My wife and I enjoy trying new restaurants all the time. So, with our Anniversary coming up, I looked on Yelp to find one that was worthy of us spending our Anniversary dinner in. After browsing the offerings in Louisville, I decided on Swizzle. I made my reservation and waited for the date to arrive. Once the calendar reached our Anniversary date, we excitedly made the 15-minute drive to the restaurant. We utilized the convenient valet parking and made our way in. The elevator deposited us on the 25th floor, so we located the reception desk, and a very polite and friendly lady greeted us. She confirmed our reservation and asked us to wait a few minutes. After a few minutes, a gentleman asked us to follow him, and he led us to our table. I had requested a seat in an area that rotates. Much to my delight, they were able to fulfill my request. We were seated and the same young lady that greeted us announced she was going to be our server for the evening. Since we had never been to Swizzle before, we took a few minutes to peruse the drink menu. I landed on the smoked old fashion, which was so good I had two, and my wife decided on a drink called Sting Like a Bee, again so good my wife had two. We ordered the meatball appetizer, which was very good, and then put in our entrée order. We both decided on the Cowboy Cut Ribeye, I added a baked potato, and she added mushrooms and a spinach salad. And when our food arrived it, all looked very tasty. We started to enjoy our meal and we both ran into a slight problem. The steaks were not as good as I thought they should be for their price point. Now they had a great taste and were cooked to perfection, the issue was with the amount of grizzle we found in ours. There was much more grizzle than I would expect at such a high-quality restaurant. As mentioned before, everything else was fantastic. Oh, and the service, the best we have had in a long time. We asked for a to-go box for the complimentary anniversary dessert since we were both stuffed, paid our bill, and went to the reception desk to pick up our dessert. I mentioned, to who I am assuming was the manager, how great our server was. Now in most of my reviews, here is where I call out the server's name so you good reader can request that person. But as I was praising her performance, the manager told us she had just graduated college and would be leaving the restaurant shortly. Congratulations to her, but now we will have to find another server for our return visit. I am awarding Swizzle 5 stars for no other reason than everything was fantastic except the steak. I can only imagine that they unknowingly had steak delivered below their standards. And the views, with the rotating seating area, were great. My wife, who is a native Louisvillian, commented on how it was great to see the city from a new vantage point. I am looking forward to our next visit when I can try the other rotating seating area.

Yelp
We came for the view, we loved the food, and we stayed for service. It was a wonderful birthday in the revolving room. The Bananas Foster Cheesecake was the perfect way to end the day over Louisville. And Brittany made us feel so special. Happy Birthday to Me!!

Yelp
When I sat down in the restaurant, I didn't realize it was a turning restaurant - what a fun surprise! Started with a smoked old fashioned which I would highly recommend. Great presentation. The pork chop was cooked perfectly, so tender and delicious. Great place to eat!

Yelp
Swizzle dinner & drinks is an upscale American steak restaurant located on the 25th floor of Lousiville historic downtown hotel the Galt House. Known for their rotating room floors that give you astonishing views of downtown Lousiville and the Ohio river I've had this on my to visit list for awhile now. My wife birthday was rapidly approaching so we booked a reservation in advance for an early dinner and got a spot in one of the two rotating rooms. Being as it is downtown Lousiville you will either need to street park or pay for a parking garage spot. I purposely made my reservation after 6pm knowing that street parking in downtown Lousiville on a weekday after 6 pm is free. So we park a block or two down and walk in. You walk into the left entrance of the galt house which does have a "swizzle" sign atop. You take the elevator to the 25th floor and you walk out into the elegant dining floor. Service here was great! For high end dollar establishment and celebratory dinners you always want and expect above average service and swizzle absolutely delivered. Everyone from host to waiter was amazing! The rotating room is really cool and offers beautiful views. It turns very slowly so you really can't tell your moving until you look up and was like "hey we was by the window a few moments ago". This so a rough guess but we was their around 2 hours. I'd say it took about 90 minutes for us to make a full rotation. They start you off with a complimentary bread which had good flavor and was a nice kick start to the rest of our meal. My wife and I put in a order of calamari which was solid. Not bad by any means but didn't quite stack up to everything else we ordered. The calamari breading I enjoyed I'm not sure I was a fan of the calamari being marinated in the dish with the sauce as opposed to me dipping it myself. But it was still a nice app. My wife did some table lurking and seen a tall fruity looking beverage and told our waiter "yes please". Turns out it was a "bourbon thyme" drink which features bourbon, a stick of thyme and bitters. Very delicious drink. She isn't a big bourbon fan (bad Kentuckian right?) and loved it. I am a big bourbon guy and I sampled it and the general consensus between us two is this was a very tasty drink. For our entrees my wife went with the 14 oz New York strip for her birthday meal and I went with the 16 oz cowboy ribeye. To say it was delicious is an understatement. Both were very delicious steaks cooked to perfection and just the way we ordered them. For me it's always medium rare for the win. And this steak was winning for sure! My wife being the birthday girl got to choose any dessert she wanted as a complimentary treat. She went with the Swizzle chocolate blackout cake and it was massive! Which is great because she was going to have to give me a few bites anyways once I seen the cake delivered. Cake as very moist and delicious like pretty much everything we had here. Overall we had a perfect evening here. Great service, great food, and beautiful views. This may be a strange thing to point out but a lot of high end popular steak houses tend to over pack you in and makes for very humid and anxious atmospheres for me. However this was very spacious and comfortable. Felt like I was relaxing in my cool and comfy man cave. Highly recommend for anyone in the Lousiville area. Easily cracks my top 3 steakhouses in the city!

Yelp
The restaurant is on top floor of Galt House. There is $10 valet parking for the restaurant. Peter was our main server and Nikhel brought us bread. Both were very nice. Having never been here before and being an indecisive person, I trusted Peter to help me with my meal choices and he didn't disappoint. I ordered the Pork chops with duck fat potatoes instead of mushrooms. This was a huge serving. I couldn't get near finishing it. I loved it tho, the taste, texture and temperature were perfect. I had the Banfi Rosa Regale wine which was perfectly sweet and paired well with my pork chop. My companion had the salmon with a bourbon drink and thought everything was very delectable. The ambiance was perfect for couples or the bar seemed lively for individual or casual diners. We set near the window and rotated fully while we dined. It was a great dining experience and we will be back. was nice

Yelp
This restaurant is quite pricey, especially for the area, and it doesn't need to be. I wanted to get that out of the way! It was a great experience coming here. If you think of revolving restaurants, of which there are fewer as the years go by, you'd be forgiven for thinking that they're all stuffy and dated. Somehow, this restaurant is modern and elegant, without being inaccessible. I liked its design touches! We came here without a reservation and only had to wait 5-10 minutes. We walked by many eye-catching wine cellars and sat down in the revolving part. Be aware that the revolving is not quite imperceptible; you will notice some movement if you pay attention, so if you get motion sickness or plan on ordering tons of drinks (or both), this might be a bad idea/stick to the normal seating area. Some parts of the revolving almost seemed to "stick" a bit, but it was nothing that seemed unsafe or nausea-inducing. Our waitress was extremely kind and energetic. She knew a ton about the menu and was genuinely happy to help everyone she served have an excellent time. I liked how extensive the food and drink menus both were. I broke my rule and got a steak, and if there was anywhere to do it, I am glad it was here. The filet was cooked (and seasoned) perfectly. Wow! I also enjoyed the sauteed mushrooms as a side. My husband loved his burger and truffle fries. I got two different cocktails, and they were both delicious. The second one I got has a name that escapes me, but it was layered and quite flamboyant, for lack of a better term :). It was a bit strong, so be aware of that! This is more of a special occasion restaurant, but it's worth checking out every so often.

Yelp
Located on the 25th story of the Galt house the view is beautiful. I went with a party of 3, and had a reservation for 5:15 pm. We were sat almost immediately in one of the rotating corners. So far so good, no complaints. Our waitress, who was extremely nice and attentive, came over to grab our drink order. My best friend and I ordered a glass of cab... to which the brand we ordered was sold out. We ordered a different brand, and that one was sold out as well. 3rd time was the charm. I ordered the filet "a la swizzle" with a side of garlic mashed potatoes. My filet was over cooked, but seasoned nicely. The mushroom sauce they put on it was good. The garlic mashed potatoes were okay but lukewarm. My friend got the chicken, and she said it tasted "almost microwaved". We did not mention this to the waitress but did see her take away plates from a different table who we overheard there's were not properly cooked as well. For 2 glasses of wine, the chicken dish, a side of garlic mashed potatoes, the bacon appetizer and a filet our bill was $214 and some change. I would come here for drinks again but maybe go somewhere else for dinner. I would think about giving it another chance though.

Yelp
I'm not sure where to start and I know I don't have enough room. I hosted a corporate event with 24 people and everything was handled perfectly. The food was ridiculously amazing, the service was unparalleled (thank you so so much to Darin and Peter and the bartender (sorry)) we couldn't have asked for a better experience!!! I cannot wait to go back!!!!!

Yelp
We have come down here to Louisville for our anniversary for the past 3 years. At first we were looking for a place that I didn't have to dress up and had steaks... that was our criteria 3 years ago. We were seated in one of the rotating rooms and our waiter was Peter. We had an absolutely wonderful experience with both the ambiance and the staff. We loved our waiter Peter as well, and since then, we have came back requesting Peter and the rotating room each year and they have been very accommodating and we cannot recommend this place enough. The food, the atmosphere, the staff, all top notch!

Yelp
We arrived as a party of four for a later dinner around 8:30. The Service/bar: The service started out rough, and did not get better. We were seated promptly, but then waited around 20 minutes for the server to acknowledge our table. The server told us that noone had told her we were seated, which happens I suppose. We put in drink orders, which took another 25 minutes to arrive at the table (we are now 45 minutes into dinner). The server explained the bartender was overwhelmed at the moment; the restaurant was nearly empty and the bartender did not look very busy. There were small issues with the cocktails. One of our party ordered a martini, "straight up", which arrived with ice chips in the glass. We did not send the drink back, but this is incorrect, and we discussed with the server. Later, when a second martini was ordered the same way, and arrived like the first one, we had questions. The server said the bartender allegedly did not know what "straight up" meant. I am a not a bartender, and I do not drink martinis. But I find this hard to believe. The Food: Overall, the food was fine. Caesar salad, wedge salad, crab cake, meatballs came as expected. The steaks on the carnivore platter were prepared as ordered (medium rare) and seasoned well. The steak was on par with other high end steak houses in the city. Swizzle seems to differentiate itself by offering sauces with their steak, but I don't see the value in spending $65 on a steak to dip it in sauce like a chicken tender. The burger was recommended medium, but I don't like overcooked burgers, so I ordered it medium rare. Of course, it came out nearly well done, charred and lifeless. If crunchy burgers are your thing, I guess I'd recommend. Overall: A frustrating experience at best. High end, steak-focused restaurants are the most crowded market in the city-- that makes it a difficult market with high expectations. They have clearly invested a lot in the space of the restaurant, with its look and rotating rooms, but the service and food missed. For the high end prices they charge, I'd expect far more, and I can get it at its competitors, minus the view.

Yelp
I was so excited to finally try this place, but unfortunately don't think I will return for dinner. We stopped by in the evening for a cocktail and a dessert. The host experience was quite bizarre. They we bickering in front of us and continued to bicker while setting the table. Our table was next to the open kitchen and employees continued to snap at each other and look miserable. While I'm sure this happens at all restaurants, it was awkward to be witnesses to it all. We got the banana pudding cheesecake which sounded amazing but was just sub-par. Overall, I don't think I'll be returning for dinner service.

Yelp
Pork chop was the best I've had in forever! Definitely top experience my wife and I have had in Louisville so far. View of the river was above and beyond.

Yelp
I've always been a sucker for revolving restaurants and great views. Service was excellent. Drinks were very well crafted. The four of us enjoyed every dish - appetizers, entrees and desserts - with the sole exception of the ceviche. I would definitely return. It was one of the highlights of our trip.

Yelp
Look through the reviews of this place and see how many of them name drop specific wait staff. This place has an abnormally high number of reviews calling out and praising employees by name. This is a trend going around where patrons are encouraged by management or employees themselves to leave positive reviews. Stop encouraging this practice. Management: don't even pretend like this isn't happening here.

Yelp
Brittany is AMAZING. Came here for the first time on my 24th birthday. Brittany's knowledge of the menu, her favorites, & what customers like was impeccable. This restaurant is one of the best in Louisville. I highly recommend the steaks & scallops. Loved it!!!!

Yelp
We ate at Sizzle last night, our first night in Louisville. This is a warm and welcoming steakhouse on the 25th floor of a high rise overlooking the Ohio River...AND the dining room rotates 360 degrees. It's very cool! We had a couple well made bourbon cocktails to start our evening. They brought out 4 complimentary dinner rolls that were absolutely the best bread I've ate in 10 years. It was a homemade version of an Hawaiian sweet roll with butter and coarse sea salt and other spices on top of these pillowy gifts from an angel. amazing! We ordered calamari as our starter. It was light crispy and fresh. This was a great way to start our dinner. Our entrees were a filet 'alla swizzle'. A petite filet served with a thick cut smoky bacon and a mushroom gravy. My wife liked it and so did I. I had a pork chop tomahawk. It was cooked to the proper temperature and had a great char and sweet and subtle glaze. Served with Al dente green beans with pieces of smoky bacon sauté in the beans. It was a great dish. John was our server. He was a pretty good waiter, but we've had better service In many other fine steakhouses around the country. Swizzle was a real nice surprise. I would highly recommend this restaurant to others looking for great ambiance experience with equally as good food.

Yelp
Pretty cool concept! The floor spins for a full view of downtown lousiville. Half way through you face the bar & a wall, but it's pretty quick and your back to the large windows! Drink& full bar menu had a lot of fun options. The espresso martini (not on the menu) was pretty good! I felt the food overall wasn't as good, especially with the prices, but you are clearly paying for the room/views. My lobster bisque was salty. Fries however were good and my husband enjoyed his burger! Fun spot to check off your list!

Yelp
Came here & the sunset view was pretty & the crushed ice was great. My husband also liked his steak. I got the berry salad... and was told it'd be $16 to add chicken. The salad alone was $14 & I'd be generous saying it was a half portion after dressing was added. The Mac n cheese was not fully baked, not hot, and super salty... we've never not eaten a whole serving of Mac n cheese... Service was attentive & the view - otherwise, I'd pass. Def a tourist trap...
