I used to love this place. Tonight, my friend and I were yelled at by someone’s girlfriend for talking to them. After reassuring this woman that neither of us wanted her man and were rather just talking, we immediately backed off and sat down. The bartender told us to watch ourselves and not escalate the situation to which my friend stated “IDGAF, she was yelling at us first” the bartender (who had seen the initial interaction) threw her drink out and began to get others in the bar riled up as if we were going in on the bartender and attacking her. The bartender had asked us to leave which I was questioning the reasoning. She stated that she had not seen the initial interaction (lies, as her daughter and bf who were sitting at the bar for sure watched it along with her) and requested us to leave. I questioned why we were being thrown out, as we had done nothing wrong and were standing up for ourselves being attacked by another woman. Eventually, with no verbal escalation from either of us, another female from behind us began yelling at us to not yell at her (we were absolutely not). I said please do not escalate this, as that was not happening in the slightest. Eventually, we were very dramatically told to leave, when the bar later clapped as if we had done something wrong. I, as a female, will NEVER go back to this bar again where the bartenders protect their regulars rather than people who are actually being verbally harassed by others. I am a very sensible woman (including when I suggested we just sit back down) but clearly this bar has turned into a place where you’re only allowed to “defend” yourself if you’re a regular. I will 100% take accountability when in the wrong, but this was insensible.
