I love Sylvia's Enchilada Kitchen, I want to start with the scrumptious smell surrounding the entire area around the restaurant it is the whole reason why I stopped in. I ordered the "LAGUNA MADRE" Crab Enchiladas - topped with a creamy seafood sauce with a strong Lime Margarita to wash down some of the best enchiladas if not The Best Enchiladas in Houston. This is hands down the Enchilada Kitchen you want to visit in Houston. Don't miss out! bring the family and friends because it will end a great night and conversation. I appreciate the excellent quality of customer service and food. Hats off to the chef for bringing exquisite 👌 flavor, thank you.

Sylvia's Enchilada Kitchen was well-styled and fully staffed with friendly people. The food was alright. We ordered two plates that were presented very beautifully, North Of The Boarder, and South Of The Boarder. Both plates had a delicious variety of enchiladas with four different options on each plate. However, for the mini-portion sizes, it would be more cost-effective to order a regular-sized enchilada plate instead. I would love to come back to try their drinks at the bar next!

I had a great experience during my first visit to Sylvia’s Enchilada Kitchen. The staff was absolutely amazing. Our waitress was very professional and extremely knowledgeable of the menu and food items. The staff continuously kept our table clean and drinks full as we moved from chips and salsa, to our fajita nachos appetizer, to our main courses. If you’re adventurous, I would recommend trying the south of the border enchilada culinary tour. It came with 4 unique enchiladas, each one having such a distinct and unique taste. I thoroughly enjoyed my experience and the atmosphere and will return to try more menu items!

Sylvia’s Enchilada Kitchen on Woodway was on our radar for some time having learned about it when looking for cooking courses in the city. We decided to go on Taco Tuesday when there are discounted meals $9 served after 4 pm / 16h until close. We arrived in time for Taco Tuesday and during happy hour, which is Monday thru Friday from 3 pm / 15h to 6 pm / 18h with $6 house margaritas. Only once there did we learn that the Taco Tuesday plates for $9 were smaller than the regular portions and did not include sides (i.e., rice and beans). As our guests were there for the big meal of the day, sides were definitely in order that persuaded them to order from the normal dinner menu. I insisted on trying a Taco Tuesday special and went for Robstown, two chicken tamales. The tamales were served alone on a large plate, making them appear very small. That was unfortunate at they were also very dry without much flavor. For $9, I’d expected even a little better. The beef tacos al carbon were average while the Mexico City plate - chicken enchiladas with a green sauce were the best tasting of all. The meat was seasoned well and the sauce had a slight tang to it. While we rarely order dessert, our group was still hungry after our very late lunch / early dinner and decided to order sopapillas - fried dough that rises and is covered with cinnamon and sugar served with honey to dip in. Amongst the least nutritious of what we ordered though definitely one of the more flavorful items at Sylvia’s that day. There are varying levels of quality Tex-Mex food and Sylvia’s was average. For the price, which is relatively high, I’d expected more. No plans to return any time soon with so many other options in Houston.

This place looked pretty cool and I'm a fan of genuine Mexican enchiladas so I figured I would give it a shot. The restaurant looked clean and the atmosphere was nice enough. The food, however, was extremely mediocre at best. My enchiladas were lukewarm, were limp and soggy, had way way too much garlic in them..... I'm a big fan of garlic, but my God, that was ridiculous. They were barely edible. The charro beans were still slightly hard like they had not been cooked long enough, and were really bland. My friend got a different kind of enchiladas and he did not particularly care for his food as well. The prices are definitely too high for both the quantity and quality. The service was slow. I have no desire to go back there.

Some of the zestiest enchiladas I've had. Very flavourful. The presentation was eye-catching and mouth watering. The best part of the experience was the food, from there everything fell off. Our server did her best and it was obvious she was new, she did an amazing job. I believe she will become a phenomenal server. The ambiance left much to be desired.

The food at this venue is excellent. They have a nice selection and have good drinks. In addition, on Sundays, they have a brunch that is really nice. Not on the level of Hugo’s, but the prices are also not as high as Hugo’s. It is a nice place to spend a meal with family and friends. There is an outdoor area that one can bring pets and the staff will bring a water bowl. The waitstaff are very nice and accommodating. The dining area and bathrooms are very clean. Overall a fun place and open and friendly atmosphere.

The margaritas are absurdly weak. I had 3 of them in an hour and didn't have the slightest bit of a buzz. Finally got an extra shot of the same tequila that was in the margarita, that helped... The shot of tequila was $12. The margarita was $10. I don't understand how a margarita (which should contain a shot of tequila) costs less than a shot of tequila. If you're going to have a margarita, get the tequila on the side, I don't have any confidence that they are pouring drinks fairly.
