18 Sensational Chinese and Taiwanese Restaurants in the Seattle Area

"The celebrated Sichuan chain from Southern California opened its first Seattle location in the Chinatown-International District in 2020, serving popular specialties such as toothpick lamb with cumin, mung bean jelly noodles drenched in chile sauce, and a cold spring onion chicken in pepper sauce. Boiled beef in hot sauce offers a double whammy of chiles and chile paste, and mapo tofu aficionados should definitely give Chengdu Taste’s version a try. If dining in, boboji is a fun cold dish comprised of chicken and vegetable skewers in either a red chile or green pepper sauce. This is also a great place to try maoxuewang. Sometimes called duck blood casserole, it actually has a wide variety of ingredients including fish, ham/spam, organ meats, and more in a spicy broth." - Jay Friedman

We were a group of six, which gave us the perfect opportunity to try a wide variety of dishes. I highly recommend sharing everything family-style, as it’s the best way to enjoy the full depth and authenticity of the cuisine! While I can’t recall the exact names of the dishes we ordered (watch the video below!!!), every plate was bursting with flavor. The signature kick of Szechuan peppercorn and the umami from MSG came through in each one. The only dish I didn’t love was the fish dish, as the MSG was a bit too strong for my taste. However, it was still an amazing food experience. The atmosphere can be a bit noisy and a little rowdy, but that actually added to the charm. As someone who’s Cantonese, the experience felt truly authentic. Even the staff had that familiar “auntie” vibe that made it all feel just like home! Will definitely go back to try other dishes!

This Szechuan spot has been a neighborhood fixture for years, and it's easy to see why it's still going strong. They consistently deliver on authentic flavor, with classic dishes that pack a punch but aren't just about heat. The atmosphere is comfortable, and the service is straightforward. You can always count on a good meal here.

Very good quality on the food, good portion sizes for the price. A big selection of dishes to choose from. Fast service considering the restaurant was pretty full.

If you don’t like Chinese food, visit Chengdu and you’ll never regret going. Great food and good beverages. Ok atmosphere. And superb service personell that is extremely likable and service minded. Always attentive and quick to respond.

This is, without a doubt, the best Szechuan food in Oslo. I could not guess what was in the dishes from the red menu, but each item we tried was incredible. If you have allergies, intolerances, or other dietary restrictions, maybe don't take chances (I would not expect the vegetable dishes to be vegetarian, for example). But if you are an adventurous eater, you won't leave disappointed or hungry!

Absolutely BRILLIANT! Hands down The best chinese restaurant in Norway. Fast and very helpful staff. Order table beforehand unless you want to spend a couple of hours in queue to get in

So far the most authentic Chinese food I've tried in Norway. The crew might seem curt but service was really good - observant/attentive and efficient! When the place had calmed down a bit/lesser customers, the crew was much more friendlier and smiling. Make sure you reserve a table in advance as it is always very busy. Alternatively, opt for take-out.

We were lucky to get a table but we will def book next time. Best we had in Oslo!! It is as authentic as it can get. There was a customer next to us complaining about the service and then the food if it was edible. If one can’t appreciate, don’t come. But if you do, respect the food, culture and the people. I am glad the server didn’t mind that rude customer’s attitude.

Yelp
After a long day at work, I somehow missed my stop on my way home. Then, BAM! Here it was. I gave it a try and I was glad I missed my stop. The lady inside was very friendly and offered me a menu in Chinese. Since I'm still fairly new to Norway. it has been difficult for me to find authentic Chinese food. It must've been destiny. LOL! Too bad it's the quarantine for the Coronavirus. Otherwise, I would hit up this place right now!

Yelp
I had walked by this place many times without going in but when I finally ate here I got positively surprised. The food was good and the service as well! The dishes had plenty of food as well so I got very full.
