Wow 🤯 what a find! I visited recently while in Dallas and can’t recommend the food here enough. The star of the show during the visit was the beef in tea sauce—salty, sweet, and a little bit of spice. I can only describe as a warm, comforting hug. SO, SO GOOD. The customer service was great. Our waitress was clearly busy managing all the calls for takeout orders as well as in-person ones, but still did so with kindness and grace. She explained to us that the indoor space is a bit crowded with boxes and isn’t fully functional since some pandemic setbacks. Personally, I don’t think it took away from the experience, as anyone that knows about good food knows that it’s not limited to fancy buildings. If you’re a bit claustrophobic though, I’d recommend a to-go order. One other thing I’d like to give a shoutout to this place for is that they give back to the community. I watched as numerous unhoused individuals came by and were provided food by the restaurant without question. It’s a blessing to see a place treat others going through a rough time with dignity and respect.

Google
Got pickup he where the price changes when pickup. But not by much. The hot and sour soup is real tasty! The rice and chicken were good too. Big portions. Found it a bit heavy.

Google
We were in Dallas visiting and stopped by here. Ordered Fried chicken wings, combination lomein, combination fried rice, and fried dumplings. All of it was good. We understand not all places season their food heavy due to people's preferences so we always put a little salt and pepper on our food, if needed. We didn't need to on any of these dishes. The only complaint was that we did not like the sweet and sour sauce. It had no flavor. They only have take-out. Received our food in a decent amount of time and the order was correct. Thanks!

Google
I’ve picked up to go orders from this spot a few times and I’m pleasantly impressed with the food. I’ve ordered online seamlessly and picked up my order promptly. They do charge a fee for ordering online that’s applied when you pick up which, I believe, could be removed. *This spot is to go only, no inside dining* My go to order is the combo fried rice, side of sweet and sour sauce, and hot and sour soup. I’ve also ordered chicken and broccoli (brown sauce). The portion sizes are huge, food is hot, and cooked to order. I’ll definitely return to try out other items.

Google
This is the best of the best Chinese Food place in the DFW… my family loved this place and the delicious way they cook their food. Super recommend it. We only buy Chinese food here and nowhere else. Everything is great/beautiful about Szechuan Chinese Restaurant.

Alejandro Cortez (Alex)

Google
Szechuan is easily the best Chinese food I’ve had in Dallas by far. Portions are great for what you are paying and it tastes amazing. They do NOT have a seating area due to not being able to find enough staff after Covid, but, honestly, the delicious food makes this a small inconvenience for me and it should be for you too!

Arthur Lyles

Google
The pork and hot cabbage soup came with no cabbage . The shrimp and scallop entrée came as a lunch portion and the fried rice was rice with egg and soy sauce, which is not fried rice. For the money spent, I would advise not to spend the money at this establishment. This was 30.00 worth of food from them!

Google
This is the The best Chinese restaurant that I’ve ever went to the food is exquisite. The environment is so friendly and the food like I said it is actually great. It’s not hard. It’s not old fresh. They make it and it is really amazing even the wontons and even the dumplings, the food pretty much everything is amazing here - Christian & Marisa and the reason why I put five stars because if I would’ve had a chance of putting 10 or 12 stars and it gave me an option, I would do it

Yelp
The first time I tried this restaurant I was very disappointed. The name is misleading as this is not at all authentic Sichuanese food. Do not come here expecting it. They removed most seating since the pandemic, set up for take out. That being said, they operate as your normal American take-out Chinese food. As it comes to take-out Chinese, I'd say they're average. They have decent fried rices, soups, and the expected variation of meat dishes. I've tried a lot of them and there is nothing special but they hit the spot when you get a craving. The prices are okay for the area. They're not cheap but you do get a fair bit of food.

Yelp
Szechuan Chinese Restaurant on Lemmon really hits the mark when it comes to quick, flavorful takeout. Their orange chicken and combo fried rice consistently arrive hot and generously portioned--but I've noticed a few dishes occasionally fall flat or come with mix-ups. When it's good, though, it's really good

Yelp
Great lunch prices. They seem to have a lot of takeout orders, including mine, and the costs were affordable. The food was great! The parking lot is tight so watch out for other drivers.
google avatar

Jonathan L.

Yelp
Great location off Lemmon avenue. The service is always fast and friendly and they have great lunch specials from 11-230 everyday. The food is always fresh and hot and it's a good amount for $8.50. I would recommend this location

Yelp
Great traditional Asian fare that is quick and tasty. The menu is extensive and diverse. From egg rolls to general tsos chicken and also great lunch specials.

Yelp
This place is so good. I was looking for a good Chinese restaurant by my house and this one won! It's cheap too! The chicken is good, the rice is good. I'm about to try their noodles next. I will go back and they were quick when I ordered online.

Lindsay C.

Yelp
This place is great! We especially loved the corn soup and Mongolian style beef. Best take Chinese take out in the area
google avatar

Hillary B.

Yelp
The ambiance wasn't very clean, looked like they may have been filing taxes or doing some type of paperwork everywhere, no dinning in option, they had pretty good reviews but i wasn't impressed... my chicken was huge and fried rice was bland... I give it a all together a 3/10 probably won't be back

Yelp
This location is to-go only these days. I first tried this place at the height of the pandemic, but since then, it's been my go to Chinese take out place!! Service is Uber fast. Usually I just place an order thru the phone, and within 8 minutes, food is ready. I won't claim they have the best Chinese food in town, but considering the price, the freshness and quantity, this place is really hard to beat. I also don't feel bad after eating it unlike some other places that may use too much MSG (not that MSG is bad here, but I feel bad if eating too much of it). If you're feeling like a Chinese take out night, definitely give this place a try! I usually go with one of their light dinners, which is honestly still a bunch of food and comes with a spring roll too! Edit: added menu (light dinner menu is the L items)

Tee R.

Yelp
Surprisingly my order of pepper steak was served pretty quickly, it wasn't until I got home that I realized why. If the bell peppers touched heat it was only for a few seconds because they were basically raw. The dish was bland there was no pepper flavor at all. I should've gone with my first thought which was the beef broccoli
google avatar

Yelp
I had high hopes. But I was let down. We ordered orange chicken, beef lo mein, crab rangoons and egg rolls. The only decent things were the egg rolls and crab rangoons. The pieces of chicken in my orange chicken were ginormous and it honestly grossed me out so much that I couldn't eat it. It didn't look real whatsoever. The beef lo mein had no flavor and the noodles didn't look like typical Asian noodles. I'm sorry to leave a bad review but honestly it was not good!
google avatar

Mindy F.

Yelp
Quick and friendly service, good quick fix for American Chinese food. Orange chicken, and sesame chicken are good, beef was overcooked and hard in the general tao beef, would skip the beef option.
google avatar

Ronnie B.

Yelp
Came here for egg drop soup because my lady wasn't feeling well. I tried to order online, but their page was down. Tried to call, but it went straight to voice-mail. I arrive to place my order in person only to be told they're out of egg drop soup. WTF?!? How can you be out of broth, soy sauce, scallions, and eggs?!? Those literally are the most basic ingredients for any Chinese restaurant. I drove almost 30 mins for absolutely nothing. I've been dining at this restaurant for the last two years, I guess it's time to look for a new Chinese spot. Ugh

Jeff J.

Yelp
Flavorless Beef Lo Mein. I tried to help it with soy sauce and even sriracha. For this price, there's better in town to be found.
google avatar

Kimberly A.

Yelp
We were driving home from San Antonio and driving through Dallas and stopped and picked up Chinese food. This restaurant was very good and I definitely will be back next time. I'm in Dallas.
google avatar

Yelp
Good hole in the wall Chinese spot. Not a lot of places in the area with these prices and quantity. I got Crab Rangoons and the general Tso chicken. It was not very spicy but good flavor! My boyfriend got the wonton soup and sesame chicken which he liked. My other friend the garlic broccoli dish! Will definitely be back for our Chinese food fix

Akaylia M.

Yelp
I waited until my 3rd time of ordering to make a review. I have been very pleased with every order! This last one was for delivery and the delivery time was SO fast! Especially during the icy weather. The food is still hot and fresh per usual. My new go to spot for sure

Yelp
Came across this place as it was just across my nail place so figured let's give it a try. Yelp had it at 4 stars so I was like bam. To my surprise it was literally a total fail. Rice and entree had noooo flavor whatsoever. I did hoe we appreciate that they custom my dish meaning changing the sauce to another as requested. But overall not a place I would go back to.

Yelp
*Delivery experience* I've ordered from Szechuan for delivery twice now and both experiences have been wonderful. My first order was a chicken lo mein noodles special and today's order was the sweet & sour chicken with fried rice and an egg roll. Both meals were delivered on time, still hot, with all of my requests met. I've loved sweet and sour chicken since I was a kid and this brought back nostalgic memories of our neighborhood Chinese restaurant in Richardson. Very grateful for delicious Chinese delivery when the weather isn't pleasant enough for an adventurous drive for lunch.

Brian P.

Yelp
Fast delivery, good food, reasonable cost. This is a small place on Lemmon Ave. Best bet is takeout or delivery. They do have dine in, but I don't recommend it.

Alec H.

Yelp
Great food and service. Great beef and vegetables to pair along with egg rolls. The portions were more than enough.

David T.

Yelp
Strictly takeout, but great hot-and-sour soup, egg drop soup, and eggrolls. Nothing fancy, but if you're looking for quick takeout or delivery, this is the place.
google avatar

Jimmy S.

Yelp
Family owned business, fairly priced with generous portions. Although currently take out only but it is a local gem. Friendly staff. Glad to find this place for my Chinese food cravings on my business trip to Dallas. Definitely will come back if i am coming to Dallas uptown area again
google avatar

Jessica M.

Yelp
I haven't tried many items from this restaurant but it's my favorite wonton soup in town. They are currently takeout only but the staff is super nice and they make pickup easy. For some reason their online ordering doesn't list all of the items they have so I think it's easier to call orders in vs ordering online.

Adam V.

Yelp
Disappointed this crap is horrible. Shut this down today. This food is legit cold and the orange chicken has sugar on it
google avatar

Erin S.

Yelp
They made the food too salty...I ordered the beef lo mien and Mongolia beef it was bland...unless you like your food salty. I will never go back to this place.

Erin D.

Yelp
great food & friendly staff!! can't wait to try more items off of the menu. pretty big serving sizes as well!

Obinna A.

Yelp
Really expected much more based on the reviews. Combination fried rice was solid, but the lo mein wasn't too good. I will say the delivery speed is awesome.
google avatar

Rachel R.

Yelp
Mediocre Chinese food. Crab rangoons were undercooked, the orange chicken and the general Tao's beef were way too sweet. Large portions do not compensate for bad food! Will be avoiding this place
google avatar

Yelp
Szechuan Chinese Trying to go back to Phx, our flight was canceled so we were forced to stay the night in Dallas. With no car, I looked up Yelp for late night delivery and came across Szechuan Chinese. Ordered online through Yelp and was delivered by Grubhub after about 45 minutes. Ordered the Combo Fried Rice, Combo Lo Mein and Family Fish and Vegetables Dinner. Have to say the portions were very generous, I wish I was more hungry as we didn't eat much and our rebooted flight was at 7 am, so we had to get up at 530 am and be at the airport by 6 am. Food was pretty good, the Fish and Vegetables was the better dish with the House Fried Rice right there. Good service as the delivery was left at the hotel front desk and the delivery person waited there to make sure I received the order after he called that the order arrived.

Sean Ray M.

Yelp
Nothing worse than being stuck at home with the flu and just wanting some food. I have ordered and gone to this restaurant a couple of times and it's always good. However this time I can't say the same. I ordered my food via Uber eats and ordered the sesame chicken with crab rangoons. Upon arrival I can tell everything is still hot which is fantastic but once opened the food the chicken pieces are in big chunks. Normally that wouldnt bother me but as soon as I took my first but the little amount of chicken was extremely tough and the rest was mostly breading that was wayyyyyy over cooked. The crab rangoons were so stale and hard as a rock and to top it off they hardly had any filling in them. Such a disappointment and will not be retuning

Yelp
First time trying this place out. Came on a Sunday evening around 6:30pm on Fourth of July, 2021. They are not open for dining in, so we ordered at the counter & waited for pickup. When we came home, we found that the sauce had spilled ALL OVER the inside of the bag even though I held it the whole time while driving, which tells me it was placed messily in the bag to begin with. Fried rice - extremely dry & bland - like they literally took plain white rice & fried it without adding anything. I expected some peas, corn, & eggs like a typical "fried rice", but no, this was just plain rice which had been fried. Orange chicken - very dry & bland. Ginormous pieces the size of baseballs. About 6-7 pieces. Throughly overcooked. The only thing done correctly was the steamed broccoli. Lo Mein- bland & soggy. Shrimp- bland Overall, everything was very bland. I am quite disappointed with everything. I would not recommend & I would not come back.

Christian G.

Yelp
The food was very well priced and it was ready pretty quickly. Taste wise there wasn't anything too special about it, it tasted like your average Chinese food that you can get anywhere but we will definitely be coming back to try more items. Only thing that we weren't a fan of was the lo-mein because it was a little bland but other than that this is a solid choice for lunch/dinner. Portions were huge, general tsaos chicken was great, workers were super nice. This was enough food for two twinks and we had left overs, thank you to the owners and staff for a solid restaurant

Shannon N.

Yelp
First time trying Szechuan and ordered online, I am so happy with my decision! It was late lunch, not a busy time and I'm under 2 miles away but I was still impressed with the quick delivery, quality of the food, friendly service from the delivery driver. The portions are quite large, even for the $8.95 specials. This is my new go to Chinese restaurant for sure! No more overpriced food for me. I was put in a cast today so ordered a few dishes to get by without cooking for the next couple of days. Loved the orange chicken & moo goo chicken with the fried rice. Haven't tried the other items yet, but I'm sure they won't disappoint. Thank you for such a pleasant experience and delicious food.

Yelp
In town for a small vacation trip and looking to scratch my Chinese cuisine craving. Found this little Chinese restaurant on my Yelp list and decided to give it a try. (1) Ordered chef's special - beef in tea sauce. (Note is a bit spicy for those that love some spice.) (1) All day special - orange chicken come with 1 egg roll and fried rice (a bit spicy as well) (1) egg drop soup (1) wonton soup. Spent under $29 and feed a family of four with some leftovers the next day. The food was amazing was what it was. It's not a PF Chang's but way better than Panda Express. As I notes both entree were spicy but the dishes were so good my 4 year old and 8 year didn't care and championed through the spicyness. It was treat good.

Yelp
Food poisoning? Ugh, really liked this place the first time we tried it even though it doesn't really compare to our local NYC Chinese restaurant. Maybe this place depends on the cook that is working at the time of placing the order. However, 3 of us ordered food from here and all 3 of us have been texting each other p00p emoji memes the past couple of hours comparing pics . We will 90% not be coming back. As Saturday nights usually are our booty shaking nights and do not wanna risk this again. Plus...this is the 1st place in Dallas that is still covid extreme. Waiting outside in a line to pick up your order is not what I want to do when about 99% of the restaurants are no longer like this where I have been in downtown Dallas. Plus whats up with the egg rolls? They are tiny. Good luck dear restaurant! You still have some good reviews hopefully the cook tonight is not the usual one!

Monica E.

Yelp
Service is awesome! We always have our order correct and they are fast when we want to pick up and take home

Yelp
I have lived in this neighborhood for 16 years. Driven by the place and judged. Chinese place in a strip plaza. I am so above this food. This is my new neighborhood go to. Everything doesn't have to be fancy. These guys got down to throw down. You can't eat inside right now, but you wanted to binge watch that new Netflix show anyways, right? Go here. This goes perfect with that show. General Tso's did have some breading to it, but it was well balanced to the more chickeny side, meaning not too much bread. Tea beef was a little too much for one of my sons, but that left more for me. I'm gonna fail to describe it so I won't try other than saying it is a great portion with a tea like nuttiness/smokiness/woodiness/I don't know just try itness. Hunan beef was a crunchy delight, but I didn't order it spicy enough. Lastly, thank you for the surprise. It made my day. You. The lady who works the front. It really did mean a lot to me. Thank you.
google avatar

Monica M.

Yelp
Like other reviewers have mentioned- good Chinese takeout is a bit of a struggle to find in the uptown/ oak lawn area. This will definitely become a takeout go to when the craving hits. We ordered the pork lo mein, orange chicken, and beef with tea sauce. They are were huge portions and had a great taste as well ( the two don't always go hand in hand). The three items last us for three meals. Their spice levels didn't seem quite accurate- we ordered medium spice and we could not sense any spice. Next time we definitely want to try a spicier level. The pick up experience was great as well. The restaurant area looked clean and organized and little details such as separating clean and used pens went far.
google avatar

Matthew S.

Yelp
Super nice staff for take out only. Great food!!! Been following them 30 years! The orange chicken, sweet and sour pork, pork fried rice and brovvoli beef are my faves!
google avatar

Dana H.

Yelp
So I picked this place because it has good ratings and on my way home. When I called in my order, I was so specific not to add carrots into my veggie LoMein because my nephew has a carrot allergy. Sure enough there was a carrot, which luckily I caught before he ate it. Needless to say he did not continue to eat the noodles. So I decided to eat it, and low and behold what surprise did I find in my food? A staple...
google avatar

Yelp
Food -- 4/5 I'm going to let you in on a little secret here: Eat the food as leftovers. Fresh? Yeah, it was OK -- worthy of 3.5 stars. But after you've let all the flavor soak in after a night in the fridge, the taste REALLY comes out. Obviously, you'll want to eat those Meat Dumplings fresh (I'll give those a 5/5 by themselves), but the Lo Mein was outstanding as leftovers. Service -- 5/5 The gal up front was super polite and very friendly. Cleanliness -- 5/5 They're not letting anyone dine in quite yet, but the entryway and food-pickup area were spick and span Value -- 5/5 Get the light dinners. You'll get the right amount of whatever you want so you can try tons of different stuff.

Yelp
Great shrimp fried rice. This place is carry out only, so I suggest that you call your order in; instead of ordering it there and waiting for it.
google avatar

Jessica J.

Yelp
The best place for takeout Chinese in uptown Dallas! Also, amazing prices considering the amount of food you receive. We were eating leftovers for days!!
google avatar

Henry V.

Yelp
These guys always say 45 minutes but deliver in half the time. Hot tasty food. I dont get exotic... pretty much stick to orange chicken and steamed rice. I found this place in error. Once I ordered takeout from a different place but showwd up here. Kind of embarrassing, they were really good about it and said next time try our food. And I've been going to them since! Not because I was embarrassed, because it smelled so good in their restaurant when i walked in and the food was spot on.
google avatar

Kendy L.

Yelp
Their service was super quick. We ordered through the phone and came by in 10 minutes and they were already done with the order! It seems like they're still in covid times in 2023 where they block off the place with tables. We paid them at a distance and took the food out. Their general Taos chicken is the best thing I've had from this place. Good quality chicken in delicious sweet and spicy sauce. Another good dish I had was the Szechuan chicken. This had a lot more flavor but it seemed like it was mostly veggies in this one. Their sweet and sour pork was also pretty good. Tender juicy pork on the inside and lightly crisp batter on the outside. I also had their combination lo mein and it also hit the spot. It was a good portion with lots of items in it. The noodles were cooked well and the sauce was nice and savory. The only bad of this place was how they made the fried rice. It looked pretty sad. Also not a fan of their plain rice too. However I would still order their chicken dishes again!

Yelp
We wanted to order from this place based on the reviews (4 stars) + noticing that Jerry Jones also went there seemed promising. I am a HUGE foodie, and this honestly was a major disappointment during our Christmas Holiday. Don't ever leave bad reviews because of the potential impact, however, I just couldn't get past the fact that everything tasted the same. Very bland, nothing had it's own unique taste. It all just tasted the same, flavorless. The crab rangoons were crispy which was great, but had little to no filling (2/10) combo fried rice, would that even be considered "fried rice"? (1/10). Sesame chicken - (2/10). To-go process = 10/10, got in and out. Order was ready upon pick up and quick and easy to get and get out. Overall - highly disappointed and would not recommend this to anyone I know or come back.
