A westside staple since 1979, this retro dining room still turns out comforting hot-and-sour soup, garlicky stir-fries, and the occasional Peking duck. Profiled by Fort Worth Magazine and regularly noted by the Fort Worth Star‑Telegram and Fort Worth Weekly, it’s neighborhood Chinese with history.

Stopped here on a whim one Friday night, and I'll admit, I've never heard of it before. I loved the ambiance inside and its super well decorated. The food was pretty good, but I'm effectively calling it upscale Panda Express. There were many things I was sad to see missing from their menu. No real dumplings or anything. It felt a little generic. But! It was pretty good. I could tell it was fresh and all handmade. The ginger chicken had huge slices of ginger in it that made the dish really pop.

Felt like eating Chinese food for dinner, and so we tried this place out. We got the beef fried rice, which was overpriced and you don’t get much, plus, it wasn’t all that great. I’ve had better. But the General tso is definitely something I’ll come back to order again because it was quite delicious. They agreed to use white meat, but I just wish they fried the chicken a little better, since it was kinda soggy, but the flavor was really good. It also comes with steamed or fried rice and steamed broccoli, so I feel this was the better deal. So yah, not a fan of the beef fried rice, but definitely order their general tso.

This place was really good! I’m not a big Chinese food person, but this place was really good! The drinks were so good! I was good with 2! The pecan shrimp was so good. My hubby ate all his beef. The service was outstanding! Nice atmosphere as well. Great for date nights.

I just 00 drove almost 1,500 mi. I just wanted to order food, come back to the hotel and go to sleep and they had it done in less than 10 minutes for me. Very quick. Very good. Very delicious! Thank you so much!

Google
The service was beyond excellent but the food is pretty bad.. i am pretty sure they serve beef as its lamb ..or the lamb is old as hell and extra chowie

Google
This place does not look appealing from the outside, but the inside gives you a phenomenal meal for an excellent price. They are serious about their Chinese cuisine here. The meal came with maraschino cherries and pineapple slices. I ordered the lemon chicken. The tenderness of the chicken and batter crunchiness was perfecto!

Google
Staffs were very humble. Food was served in time and tasted good. Proration was large. Price is competitive.

Google
Takeout service is fast & friendly, but the food was very unappetizing. I got the orange chicken, fried rice, and noodles. The chicken was mostly fat, tendons, and breading. The noodles didn’t taste like anything and I swear the rice they gave me must’ve been at least a day or two old. The portion sizes are large so you get a lot for what you pay for.

Yelp
Great food and great service! I believe this is the same Szechuan located in colleyville off of grapevine highway years ago and they relocated. They have a great daily lunch special. The beef sticks are a great appetizer! Also, the family style seems like a great deal. Posted entire menu.

Yelp
The Boss Man loves this place. He talks about it all the time. So, Sunday after Church Victoria and I headed to Szechuan. Almost every table was taken except the one we were assigned. I can see why, the food is tasty. The ambiance is fine. It's dark in there with nice windows to look out. They have blinds that you can adjust if the light is to bright. The majority of the crowd were Seniors. The service is good. Our Waiter was quite but, always available to help when we needed. He topped our refills and was quick with the check. I ordered Orange Chicken with Steamed Rice. The Orange Chicken was skinless and tender. It could have been a little warmer though. It was tasty and fulfilling but watch out for the Orange peel. Yuck. So head to Szechuan for Chinese Food. I'm certain you will like it.

Yelp
Chicken fried rice was the dish I had for the day and it was great. They give you plenty with a side dish of egg drop soup. Staff is fantastic and always making sure you have everything to enjoy your meal. Vibe here is low key quiet and nice.

Yelp
The food is so tasty and I love that they have the option of no MSG. The restaurant is usually very quiet and peaceful. But I left the best part for last.... Our server Cinthia is ALWAYS so amazing and has an incredible personality I definitely recommend that you ask to sit in her area!!

Yelp
Stopped here for Sunday lunch with friends, and it was a-ok. We were greeted and seated quickly, despite a bustling after church crowd. Everyone had a lunch special which was an entree, a soup, and side of rice for under $10. Solid value for money. The wonton soup was okay--the broth was flavorful and better than the actual wonton. The eggplant with garlic was good for a lighter dish, well dressed with a mix of eggplant, water chestnut and greens. My companions all had meat dishes and while they all requested a high spice level, all felt there wasn't enough heat though the dishes were all tasty. They asked for a bowl of chili oil for the table which they said helped, but still felt heat was lacking as spice lovers. Overall, a nice dining experience, and I'd come back if in the area.

Yelp
this place is more like a 3.5 out of 5 stars. lol, i only ended up here cuz my family was in town visiting me and they wanted chinese food. The family ate bbq for two days in a row and were sick of it (gasp, how could you be sick of texan bbq). I know good chinese food doesn't really exist in fort worth, so i just found one close by the fort worth botanic gardens. This place is located behind the main street in a small strip mall. It looks old and rundown from the outside, and the inside also looked a bit run down as well. we didn't know but they had lunch specials during the weekend! which was really nice. The lunch specials came with an entrée and your choice of soup. We got a bunch of different items, but my wife and I got the lo mein with beef and the beef szechuan dish. We both got the hot and sour soup. Honestly, the entree was alright (bit salty for my taste), but the soup was really tasty. But a lunch deal, especially on the weekends is a steal. The service was really great. They kept coming by asking if we need anything and asked if we wanted refills.

Yelp
Worst food ever, the breaded chicken was 90 percent bread. The chicken tasted like they didn't clean it, and the sesame chicken had a vinegar flavor, THERES NO VINNEGAR IN SESAME CHICKEN. Worst Chinese food and probably worst restaurant I ever ate at Me and my party took 2 bites of the food and left it was beyond shit. Please for the love of god eat and use your hard earned money somewhere else

Connie B.

Yelp
I've only ordered for the food to be delivered but every dish was well packaged, the containers were filled, and the food was delish.

Yelp
Do not bother to eat here. Used to be good ate there at lunch was disgusting. The pork had a fowl taste and smell could not eat. New owners price went way up Quality way down. So sad.

Yelp
Food poisoning... Food tasted funny and not long after digesting it, trouble started in the bathroom.

Yelp
I went here on a Wednesday night for dinner. The menu is extensive with a wide variety of selections. I ordered wonton soup as an appetizer, shrimp with lobster sauce as my entree, and a banana daiquiri. The Good: The food was fresh with generous portions. They used extra jumbo shrimp in the entree (16/20 per pound) and plenty of them. The pork used in the sauce were strips rather than ground pork, makes a huge difference in taste! The wonton soup was standard but good and finally the banana daiquiri was freshly made and not from a mix. I would rate the food as an 8 out of 10. The Bad: An excessive wait for the entree. It was an hour between service for the soup and the main entree. My drink came about 15 minutes before the main entree. It wasn't busy at all, but probably 3-4 tables occupied out of probably 15 tables total. The Ugly: After about 30 minutes there, I wanted to find our server to ask about the entree's, and she was nowhere to be found. I went to find her and she was sitting at the bar chatting with the bartender (who I think is the manager/owner). She came over and I asked if the food was going to be much longer and she said that she would check. 10 minutes later she came back and said that they were cleaning the kitchen. 15 more minutes later, the food finally came. No issues, the food was good, but had to wait another 15 minutes after finishing to get the check... again, she was at the bar chatting with the bartender. Bottom line: I'm not sure if the service is always so poor, the server was new, or just bad luck, but I got the sense that there was no sense of urgency of the staff to ensure the customers were taken care of in a timely manner. Regardless, the unacceptable long time spent at the restaurant and feeling that I wasn't important as a customer to them means that I won't be going back anytime soon. If you do try it, I would highly recommend calling ahead for take-out.

Yelp
Have never been disappointed and the servings are huge. Egg rolls are great and crispy and The cocktails are amazing

Yelp
Love the service and the food, always happy to come and grab a quick bite with friends during their lunch specials

Yelp
We have gone to this restaurant for years. My favorite is the Tung Ting shrimp. My husband likes beef dishes...beef and broccoli is good and of course orange chicken is always good. Servers are helpful and the restaurant is always clean. We sit by the windows for a view of outside.
google avatar

Yelp
The service and ambiance was good, a nice fast casual restaurant. I went in January and the food was delicious. I went back in August and my dish was average. The banana dessert was delicious.
google avatar

Yelp
Overall a good go to Chinese restaurant. Fast and friendly service. The ambience was fancier than a stereotypical takeout restaurant. Decent place to sit down to a meal and still offers takeout. Food was delicious. The only frustrating part was trying to find a full and complete menu before going to this restaurant. So if anyone wants the full and complete menu here are the photos below.

Yelp
This is the best Chinese restaurant in Fort Worth in my opinion. The challenge is that there has been a lot of inconsistencies lately that I hear he is doing everything he can to fix. Hopefully, we will see this place back in top form again soon!

Jose M.

Yelp
First time and the beef lo mein was absolutely bland as all get out. The orange chicken.. was just chicken with barely any orange. The peanut chicken bland. I've been to plenty other Chinese takeouts and this was the worst. But I get it. Look at the demographic and who eats there. Yall can do better.

Yelp
Really liked their combination fried rice! Soup was good as well. Nice atmosphere, and pretty quiet. Service was good as well. I'll be back when I'm in the neighborhood.

Yelp
Well, slap somebody's Momma because this food was good! I dined in with the hubby here. We had not eaten all day, so started with the veggie egg rolls and the pu pu platter. The rolls were fresh and crispy. The chicken kebabs, beef kebabs, and pork ribs on that appetizer platter were amazingly tender and flavorful! Adding to the ambiance was the little flame grill on the platter. Everything is cooked, but if you want to, you can put the meat items over the fire. The hubby kept doing this because he was fascinated, like a toddler, by the tiny grill :-) Our entrees were the shrimp fried rice and the egg foo young. Both dishes were delicious. The egg foo young was the best we have ever had. The sauce over it so good that we want the recipe. They did not skimp on the shrimp in the delish fried rice. Service was stellar. We were warmly greeted upon entering. Tables were spaced apart for safety. Staff was wearing masks and gloves, and cleaning tables as soon as customers left. Our waitress was delightful and helpful. She answered all our questions and checked on us. We had leftovers which were equally delish the following day. I also left with a paper menu and plan on getting lots of takeout from this spot. This place is tucked away in the corner of a strip mall off a small side street. There is a large parking lot. Check them out for dine in or takeout!

Yelp
Szechuan is a solid 4/5 in my go-to Chinese takeout list. Their menu is a treasure trove of flavorful options, showcasing the bold and authentic tastes of Szechuan cuisine. From mouth-numbing spice to savory delights, each dish is a journey through rich, well-balanced flavors. The efficient service ensures a quick and satisfying experience. While not without room for improvement, Szechuan remains a reliable choice for those craving delicious and authentic Chinese takeout. General Tso 's Chicken Orange Chicken

Yelp
Really, really disappointed today. Absolutely no flavor. Ordered the same dishes as usual. Judy, is sorely missed. Hoping this was an off day.
google avatar

Yelp
This place is close to home....the servings are huge and my son loves it.....that's good enough for me! We order from here all the time and have yet to be disappointed.
google avatar

Jody R.

Yelp
So food may be prepared a bit differently than other Chinese restaurants. There wasn't anything wrong overall but just less our tastes on certain things. Also they love mushrooms, it was in 3 out of 4 dishes ordered. The chicken was also different sizes from thin slivers in one dish to tiny chops on another and then traditional breaded chunks in the other two. Spicing was inconsistent, the dishes marked as spicy had some hot and some non existent spice and the pineapple chicken was hotter than Tsos chicken. Anyway, more of a comment that if you want the sesame chicken just like you always have it, this might not be the place. If you love all food and want other variations this might be the place for you.

Yelp
I am a little shocked that they offer different prices and deals for dine in verses take out. I got the lunch special which was supposed to be around $8 and includes rice and soup. It came to around $11 and the rice I was charged extra for and they didn't include a soup. The manager (I'm assuming) said that you don't get soup or rice included for take out, it's only included for dine in. And the manager was also sitting on his phone in the main lobby in front of customers. The orange chicken was decent, not the best but I liked that it was crunchy and fresh. Could be a little more flavorful. Wouldn't pay $11 for it again though.

Yelp
I was in the mood for Chinese food and this place was recommended online in different websites. So I gave it chance. I hate to say this but there is a "Tired" feel to the place. You get the feeling that the place probably was vibrant back in the day. The food was subpar, average at best. The egg rolls were mushy inside. I figured they were the frozen type. When I ordered the Vegetable Chow Main I was told that it came with crispy noodles on top. I didn't realize that they meant the type that you buy in cans at the store. The vegetables were lacking. The flavor was just okay. The side of rice is very small and came early before the main dish making cold when the main dish came out. The Beef Szechuan had no spice and were eaten because I was hungry. I'm afraid I won't be returning.
google avatar

Holly T.

Yelp
This is my husband and sons favorite place to eat. Worth the drive - I got wonton soup and Szechuan beef. Husband got egg drop soup and pepper steak and son got fried rice. We had enough to share and bring some home.

Yelp
Awesome service and food. Fun ambiance and place to dine . Love egg rolls, all soups and dinners.

Clarel C.

Yelp
Egg Roll was over fried. Chicken friedrice was over fried, very little meat. The chicken brocoli was under cooked, so was the chow main.

Rusty K.

Yelp
No bartender. drinks were terrible. been coming here 15 +. Must be new owners. chicken in dinner was pre processed tasteless. Soup was half the size. Fried rice was brown rice with nothing in it. sorry to say but they have lost a long time customer. one star at best
google avatar

Michael B.

Yelp
We have 20 years of experience, not like it was even before Covid . We used to look forward to the hot n sour soup and especially the egg rolls which set them apart. Today, we tried the egg rolls again and were insulted by what was served, size of a roll of nickels, really!? From Albertsons? To be fair, our entrees were good without complaint, just tainted by sub par appetizers

Yelp
Szechuan has been our go-to takeout spot the last few years since papa changs in the hospital district burned down. The quality of the food here is better than average takeout, and the prices are all reasonable and consistent. It's also an older restaurant, so you'll see plenty of regulars in there. If you're looking for a safe easy takeout spot I recommend here!

Alan F.

Yelp
Second time eating here. First time got takeout. No complaints. Second time on the other hand.. immediately upon entering it was hot. No AC it seems. Got seated to a table with small flies swarming condiments. Not appealing. Grossed me out immediately. Still gave the food a shot. Forgot my rice that was supposed to come with chicken. Forgot my beverage. Chicken is fine but not worth it after this visit. I will get my chinese food elsewhere.
google avatar

Ed T.

Yelp
Food is always consistent and customer service has really improved to be top notch. It's great as a local Chinese takeout spot.
google avatar

Tess L.

Yelp
This was our first time eating at this restaurant, and I have to say the food was absolutely spectacular. We had the combination fried rice, the chicken egg rolls, and the combination chow mein. We could not believe how tasty the meal was. Everybody at the restaurant was so friendly and the service was incredible. We have been looking for a great Chinese restaurant near us. And this is now our new favorite Chinese restaurant. I wish we had taken pictures, it was so good. It was gone in a flash. I highly recommend this place.

Wayne D.

Yelp
Have enjoyed dine in and takeout multiple times. My brother and I love this spot. It's difficult not to order Peking Duck for the table to share. Very extensive menu, great prices and service.
google avatar

Victor M.

Yelp
My fav go to For carry out their lunch special is Goated! Ting ting chicken is my best.
google avatar

Rebecca P.

Yelp
Food was okay. Everything was just "okay." Some things like the noodles were over pretty cooked though. We spent about $50 for two people and didn't love it, so to me it was a bit of a flop. I'm really looking for higher quality food lately, especially at these prices, and they just don't taste very fresh.

Audra C.

Yelp
Nasty plain no flavor and gross I could've made better. We didn't enjoy anything about this place and couldn't see why it had so many good reviews.
google avatar

Paige D.

Yelp
Just wasn't as good as the first time :( food was bland, rice was dry and tasted old, orange chicken was mostly fry- man so sad because I loved it here
google avatar

Jack D.

Yelp
since the longtime host (and possibly owner) mysteriously disappeared, the place has steadily gone down. just had a terrible meal from there. after decades, we'll be looking for a good Chinese restaurant, like Szechuan use to be.

Emily N.

Yelp
Tasty wonton soup and vegetable fried rice. We've had the chicken fried rice as well and it was also delicious.
google avatar

Ryne T.

Yelp
I've been getting take out from here for years. I've never had a bad thing on the menu, this is my go to for American(ish) Chinese food.

Janis M.

Yelp
Love the Szechuan beef from here very tender an flavorful a,spring rolls are great as well, ordering is easy and they never get the order wrong

Yelp
We went here tonight for dinner. There were 10 of us and we had a reservation for 7:30. This is our third year to eat here on Christmas Eve. We were seated quickly and the place was very busy. Our drink orders were taken and filled quickly and we placed our orders. Our food came and it was fresh, hot and great. Their portions are generous and it is a great value for your food dollars. The restaurant was maintained in a very clean condition even though they were busy. I commented to the people in charge how we were impressed with their overall service. I can highly recommend this restaurant.

Charles M.

Yelp
Amazing food, fairly priced, and great customer service. Highly recommend! Chicken Lo Mein
