"Tucked in the corner of a large strip mall on Reseda Blvd., Szechuan Place is easily the best Chinese food in Northridge, and one of our favorites in the entire Valley. The menu is pretty wide-ranging, with everything from kung pao chicken to beef chow mein, but we recommend sticking to the more traditional Szechuan dishes - dan dan noodles, cumin mutton, and a very spicy mapo tofu. The space itself is big as well, making it a good a group lunch spot when you need to keep a bunch of different people from the office happy." - Brant Cox

"Szechuan Place takes the cake as the best Sichuan restaurant in the San Fernando Valley. However, it will require some convincing for the staff to take you seriously about how spicy you want your dishes. I find that telling them you eat Sichuan regularly in the San Gabriel Valley tends to do the trick.   The bobo chicken is a Sichuan dish that dates back to the Qing Dynasty. It consists of cold slices of various chicken parts placed on skewers and dunked in a numbing and spicy chile broth. The mapo tofu is silky and topped with chile and mala numbing spices. The fried string beans and cumin lamb dishes also hit the spot. Also worth mentioning is that Szechuan Place’s dan dan noodles are dry, but tend to be more soupy than those at other restaurants. Anyone looking for more than the run-of-the-mill Sichuan dishes can try the mao xue wang, made of duck blood curd, tripe, chicken gizzard, and other organ parts simmered in peppercorn and red chile soup." - Kristie Hang

This place is a hidden gem and hole in the wall. They offer a variety of food - Szechuan style and not. The portions come out huge and the prices are reasonable. Definitely a good place to go for groups and have a family style meal. Delicious 😋

I’m overwhelmed with joy from finding an AUTHENTIC Szechuan/Sichuan place in the Valley! A restaurant in Valley Village closed its doors and it ached my heart. This place is legit good. Not greasy. I ordered a Szechuan chicken and hot and sour soup. The best soup ever. Looking forward to trying Chongqing Chicken, Dan Dan Noodles and something with mouth-numbing peppercorns. Sichuan is the best Chinese cuisine. It makes me do a happy dance after every bite. Customer service was good. Parking was limited during lunch. I’d definitely comeback very soon!

Google
Wonderful Service with young energetic staff. The food was superb. Appetizers, Cold dishes, Eight Hot Soups to pick from plus over a dozen Noodle Soups. A huge variety of traditional and house special Szechuan Entrees. Fantastic homemade Chili Sauce. Easy to park. I was unable to dine here since the shutdown, but truly missed this great restaurant. Their unbelievably great sense of taste and superb ingredients and now available again here in the West San Fernando Valley! Don’t miss trying the Szechuan Place on Reseda.

Google
Dined-In first time here. Seated immediately. Ordered the Dan-Dan Wontons (my favorite), Black Pepper Beef Short Ribs (hubby's favorite), Fish in Black Bean Sauce, Chow Fun with Shrimp. All delicious! The booths had convection heating plates for Hot Pots (next time!) and the larger round tables had lazy Susan's for sharing. Service was excellent. ❤️❤️

If you’re looking for an authentic Chinese cuisine, then Szechuan Place is what you’re looking for! A 100% must-try restaurant in Northridge! We tried this place out of curiosity because it had so many good reviews - and I’m certainly glad we did! The place was clean and well-taken care of, the tables are nice and shiny, and the theme of the restaurant is pretty consistent with all its decorations. We took quite some time selecting a food to order because of the amount of food in their menu. There’s a lot to choose from and you can select which meat you want in your dish. We ordered the Egg Flower Soup and it’s been the best I’ve had through all Chinese restaurants we’ve been to. We chowed down their Sweet and Sour Beef like there’s no tomorrow, and totally forgot to save space for their Szechuan Chicken and Eggplant Chicken dish because it was so good. Their huge serving size caught us off-guard so make sure to pace your orders lol. Btw, make sure to try their Strawberry Green Tea drink - it is phenomenal! The staff are all friendly - in fact, we happened to come by during the Moon Festival and we got to experience their hospitality on another level. They even offered us a rambutan, a sweet fruit with hairy outside shell, often confused as lychee. Best authentic Chinese Cuisine + Best customer service = 100% recommended. Will surely go back!

Google
Ordered delivery with a service. Food arrived fresh and still warm. Food was unfortunately underwhelming. The beef in the Mongolian beef dish used the cheep chewy type meet, with an abundance of onions, that I didn't mind, but the spouse did very much. The Scallion pancake was mediocre at best, lacked flavor. Its dipping sauce was off and extra salty. Surprisingly so, the chicken fried rice lacked flavor. It had nearly as much flavor as plain white rice. The "sauteed vegetables" was only bok choy. It was good, crunchy, and flavorful. Probably the best thing I happened to order, but it shouldn't be called sauteed vegetables. At all. I will not order from here again and will continue the strenuous journey in finding good Chinese food north of San Diego.

Google
My friends and I stopped by here after getting our suits measurements for my wedding. We got to the place right when they open so we were their first customer to dine in. I went with the Mongolian Beef, my friends got the orange chicken and one of their noodle dish. Our food came out pretty quick. I thought the Mongolian Beef had too much soy sauce and the portion wasn't that much. I got more onion than meat but I understand with the current situation we're in. My friend orange chicken was good and my other friend like his noodle soup. The plaza that this restaurant is in can get busy later in the day.

I stopped in for a random lunch break and wow! The food was really good, the passion fruit tea was refreshing and I have a lot left over for another meal, so good value as well! I’m

Yelp
Seeing if there was any hope of a reopening. I guess not. So many good memories here. I can still taste the food in my dreams.

Yelp
I've had Szechuan Place bookmarked for the longest time on Yelp! It's a good thing my wife spontaneously decided to be adventurous and wanted to come here as they're closing the restaurant tomorrow! Located near CSUN, Szechuan Place shares a parking lot with lots of other businesses so parking can be mission impossible. We got lucky and were able to park right in front, but we saw that others thug life it and double-park so be forewarned! They didn't have any physical menus, instead encouraging everyone to scan the QR code that directs you to their menu online. They also can provide tablets for you if you don't have a phone handy. They were out of some of the things we wanted to try (dumplings and tofu), but we ordered Orange Chicken and General Tso's Style Chicken with rice. The chicken was good, with lots of sauce and chili peppers. Their hot sauce also provides quite the kick if you're looking to clear your sinuses! We would've liked to come back to try other things from their menu, but we won't make it back before they close for good on 08/28/23. The employees were all very nice and helpful, the restrooms in the back were clean and well-maintained, the interior of the restaurant is spacious and good for groups - try them if you can before it's too late!

Yelp
I'm so sad this restaurant is closing. But I'm going to make sure to check out her new place wherever it might be. Brilliant owner and food, I love it so much. My heart is breaking into a million pieces knowing it's closing. I appreciate everything Dani did for the community. I'll miss her and her restaurant so much. Gorgeous ambience inside with artwork and design from China. Love the space so much. Bitter sweet but I wish her nothing but the best.

Yelp
Wow wow wow! What a great hidden gem this place is! We stumbled upon this place by chance. We were in the area for another restaurant, but decided to try this place last minute, and boy that was a great decision! Our tell tale sign of authenticity of a restaurant is if we see a lot of patrons from the origin of the place of the food. This place is exactly that. We ordered the following; Hot and Sour Soup- I'm not usually a fan of this type of soup, but I'm glad we tried it. It had the perfect balance of salty, sour and heat. We had to ask for mild heat and it was perfect for our palate. Shrimp Fried Rice: They were generous with their toppings and the rice was nicely seasoned. Spicy Diced Chicken: Definitely a must try! We had to ask for mild, and there was still plenty of heat but enjoyable. This is the reason why I got hooked on Szechuan style restaurant. It was very addicting and delightful to eat. String Beans: Although a very simple dish, I feel like it still stands out on its own. It's cooked perfectly without being soggy. Every bite gives you a nice crunch. Xiao Long Bao: Very nicely done. I'd rather eat XLB here than another restaurant. Although not overly juicy, every bite was still tasty and delicious. Overall we were very pleased and enjoyed eating here. They have an extensive list on their menu, and we will definitely come back to try more. An easy A+! I absolutely highly recommend!

Yelp
Came back for a 2nd go around and liked it. The Food- 1) Hot and Sour Soup- Good and recommended. 2) Spicy Wonton Soup- Good and recommended. 3) Garlic Pork Ribs- Good flavor just know ahead of time that this is more of a dish that you eat with your fingers and that it will take some extra work as most pieces have a small bone in them.

Yelp
My parents love this Sichuan restaurant, and I recently came with them to try it for the first time. We came for Friday lunch around 12:30, and it was pretty empty, with only a couple of other tables occupied. Decor inside is nice, with some decked out booths. There are individual tables as well, some with a lazy susan for larger groups. The five of us shared 5 dishes, with * marking our favorites: *Boiled fish ($18.99) - fish was super tender and flavorful Pan fried ginger chicken (16.99) - okay but not great. It's just chicken with some ginger and a TON of peppers *Double cooked pork ($16.99) - the pork was super flavorful and this dish had good wok hei overall. Even the veggies cooked with the dish, like the cabbage and leek, had really good wok hei. Stir fried beef with chili ($16.99) - decent dish but nothing amazing Mapo tofu ($13.99) - tofu was silky smooth. Great for vegetarians as the version here doesn't have any meat! I have the worst spice tolerance ever, which is why I usually stay far away from Sichuan food, but the food here was doable even by my low standards.

Yelp
I felt like my bad experience was perhaps an outlier given how other customers on Yelp clearly had a very good experience. So I came back y'all and you know what? It was a 180! I chose to dine-in and was attended to pretty promptly (however, the restaurant was mostly empty). The portions were good and the food was very tasty (I love me that Sichuan flavor). (1) home braised pork ($16.99) - recommend (2) hot and sour soup($10.50) - recommend (3) green string bean ($14.99) - recommend; always a goodie; it's hard to mess this up (4) large rice ($2) - it was a great size; very different than the teeny tiny bowls of rice you get at other restaurants I ended up ordering take out on another date as well and it was straightforward. Honestly, my advice is... come any time of the year except Christmas or holidays.

Yelp
Szechuan food is one of my favorite regional Chinese cuisines to choose from and I was definitely pleased with my dining experience at this restaurant. The food was authentic, tasty and generous (with the rice and soup). I will definitely be coming back! MY ORDER x1 Hot and Sour Soup x1 Green String Bean x1 Home Braised Pork x2 Rice HOT AND SOUR SOUP ($10.50) The soup was very authentic and tasty. It is served in a big bowl that could probably feed 3 or 4 people! I would order this again next time. GREEN STRING BEAN ($14.99): The green beans were not as good as they could have been. While there was a good amount of blistering caused by frying them in really high temperature oil, the beans themselves were very lightly flavored. Perhaps more chilis and ground pork would improve this dish. HOME BRAISED PORK ($16.99): The pork was tender and paired well with the bell peppers. It was pretty tasty. Note: Don't conflate this with the more famous Szechuan red braised (hong shao) pork belly or you will be disappointed. It was delicious all the same. Rice ($1 per bowl): Unlike most places, when you order two bowls of white rice, they do not simply give you 2 little bowls of white rice. Instead, they give you a generous bucket of rice that can fit ~4 bowls of rice ENVIRONMENT: It had modern Chinese restaurant decorations with semi-private areas for diners of 4-6 people as well as regular seating. TIPS: - They currently use a digital menu that is handed to you on an Ipad. While it appears you have the option to order from it, I opted not to and used it simply o browse through their available dishes

Yelp
My son and I love this place! It's clean and convenient with the most delicious Dan Dan Noodles! I slurp the peanut broth/sauce like soup! It's a must try legit ‍‍‍ We either dine in or get our food delivered, service is always top notch. Staff is very friendly and available to answer any questions. They have some traditional Chinese dishes but are always able to accommodate our requests. Great local Chinese spot!

Yelp
Today we say goodbye to a place so close to our hearts. My partner and I have been coming here for 4+ years and it's become such an integral part of our lives and something that brings us such a sense of joy. It's not easy to find a restaurant where the owner puts so much of their heart and soul into every aspect of the business. From the quality of the food, to the authenticity of the cuisine, even the decorations inside, this place is and always will be remembered as a one of a kind gem. We've come nearly every month, every other week and sometimes several times a week for years now. This is a place we always felt comfort. From the beautiful aromas coming from incredible flavorful foods that warmed our hearts and filled our stomachs, we were given something truly great. We will be so sad to see Szechuan Place go, but we're so grateful for all the memories we've shared and created here, the food we've loved and the people who have made this a great place to be. Dani is such a warm hearted person who put so much love and care into making this restaurant a place of happiness, always welcoming and always providing a great experience. Dani, we love you and wish you nothing but happiness and success in the future. We hope that you will stay happy and healthy, always knowing the impact you've had. We look forward to whatever comes next. I can only give 5 stars, but 5 stars and these words could never truly describe how much this place has meant to us.

Yelp
I just found out that this restaurant was closing :( When I was going to CSUN this was my go to spot. The jelly noodles and the mapo tofu were my favorite!! Thank you for amazing food and I wish y'all the best

Yelp
We were looking for a closer spot that had Xiao Long Baos since we didn't want to drive all the way out to Din Tai Fung and wait in an hour long wait period (although it's worth it). We stumbled upon this place just by looking at Yelp reviews. It seemed to have decent reviews and we really only wanted the baos so we went for it. The restaurant is in the corner of this small plaza and walking in, we were the only ones in this big restaurant other than one other couple. It's surprising for such a restaurant especially since most people raved about their authenticity. It was sad seeing how empty it was and also a little worrying. We asked to see the menu to order takeout and he handed us a tablet to scroll through. The menu was weird and only showed like half the page? It was doing a weird loading thing where a lot of the items weren't loading. Already a red flag. We proceeded to order 3 orders of the Xiao long bao, which seemed a little scary at first since we've never had it but we were really craving it. We also ordered some Szechuan chicken and rice on the side. Waited a bit and the guy walked over to hand us our food. We went home to enjoy it and you can already tell by looking at the baos that they're not freshly made. They might've been at one point but these were frozen and then steamed. You can also tell by the texture when you pick them up and bite into them. With that aside, they were good, not amazing. I probably could've gotten my own frozen ones from the market and steamed them at home myself. The Szechuan chicken was very good and cooked really well. Maybe their other entree items are the way to go and we're willing to give them another try another time! Definitely not getting the Xiao long baos again. IG: @ammysalamii

Yelp
Customer service is great. Our waitress and servers were super nice and patient. The place is not too big but clean and decorated appropriately with chinese decorations. It is a Szechuan restaurant so most of the food is very spicy. They have a newer menu post Covid re-opening but they still have the old menu if you ask and sometimes can still make your Szechuan favorite dishes. I ordered the Mao Xue Wang - very flavorful, tender and just perfectly spicy. The Cumin lamb was also good - tende. The spicy shrimp was so flavorful- shells on and very crunchy. The Yangzhou fried rice definitely has the authentic taste. Ì wanted Chongqing Xiao Mian but they did not have it so I opted for another authentic Szechuan dish from Chengdu - Wanza Mian - it's a noodle soupy dish with peanuts and ground pork, etc. it was really good. They also have Hot pot - planning on it next time. I definitely recommend this place.

Yelp
Both Spicy Kidney and Wine Sticky Rice Balls are better than two top Shangnese restaurants in San Gabriel and Rowland Heights.

Yelp
I've been craving Mapo Tofu, so I decided to order some from Szechuan Place and pick it up. Veggie Mapo Tofu for $12.99, this time around was a little underwhelming, as it wasn't as spicy and flavorful as i've previously experienced here. Texture of the tofu was on point. Perhaps, the chef was having an off day in terms of flavors ... Forget the Har Gow, Crystal Shrimp Dumplings $13.99/9 pieces (see my pic) ...as they taste like the frozen stuff I could purchase at the 99 Ranch Asian Market. Bleh. Ordered via Yelp, fulfilled by GrubHub and my order was ready when I arrived. Located on a corner strip mall, there is free parking.

Amy P.

Yelp
Came here for dinner on a Sunday and ordered several dishes. All were tasty. Some a bit salty and spicy. The green beans were good and not overcooked. The mapo tofu was vegetarian and flavorful. The spicy diced chicken was crunchy. They do not have the salad bar or combo plates anymore. The cucumber salad was delicious. The pig's ear salad was also tasty with good texture. The soup dumplings were very good. Located in a strip mall near CSUN with ample parking. Nice atmosphere and good service.

Laura P.

Yelp
Delicious! I've been living in the valley for many years and can't believe I just found this place. We were pleasantly surprised that every dish tasted so good. We had our favorite Chinese dishes; Pot stickers, Xiao Long Bao, Shrimp dumplings, Beef Chow Fun, and String Beans with Eggplant. We enjoyed all the dishes. Some of the Xiao Long Bao were missing the soup and were dry, but they were still ok. All the dishes came out pretty fast. We were handed a tablet with the menu to browse and add to the cart but was able to order with a server. At the end, the server came with the bill, and we were able to pay right at the table. The only thing is that they don't take American Express! That makes it inconvenient for me, but I understand the higher service fees owners have to pay. The restaurant size is not small, and it had many empty tables. We were thinking it should be more crowded since it was a Friday night. We'll be coming here regularly for sure. Two thumbs up!

Abby G.

Yelp
This place was okay for me, but I would come back to try some other dishes. I tried the tofu fish and Mongolian beef. The tofu fish was okay not the greatest and the beef was tasty. The restaurant is pretty quiet and service was alright. They give you a tablet to look at the menu.

Young D.

Yelp
I thought the food was just OK. The scallion pancake was super heavy in dough with no taste. The waiter was super friendly and service was good. I will come back later to give them another try.

Charlene H.

Yelp
First ordered food from this place via DoorDash and was blown away by the food. I was having a bad day and was craving some war wonton soup. I ordered a large, along with some baos and some spicy chicken for my boyfriend. Immediately we both decided we needed to get more this week. We stopped in for a to-go order a few days later and we're not disappointed. Everything was excellent and the staff were lovely. While we didn't dine in, we made some observations about the restaurant. It was fairly quiet in that the music was at a nice volume that allowed for conversation. It was very clean/tidy inside and guests seemed to be well taken care of. Our meal wasn't ready when we got there, so the host insisted we take a table and have a seat while we waited. We can't wait to go back. This place is simply awesome.

Yadira M.

Yelp
I LOVE THIS PLACE!! I've been eating here since 2021 and it is truly one of my most favorite places to eat. The food is consistently yummy, portions are great, and the vibe of the place is nice. Y'all have to understand that at GOOD Chinese places the service is not going to be super exceptional, they're just here to take your order, get you your food then leave you alone for you to enjoy your food. If you want to be waited on hand and food go eat at a Michelin star restaurant. Always recommend this place to my friends and YOU READER!!

Jessica M.

Yelp
We came here with our friends because they highly recommended it. We got a ton of food: crystal shrimp dumplings, green beans, Dan Dan noodles, hot and sour glass noodles, pepper spare ribs, potstickers, spicy diced chicken, and fried rice. Everything was AMAZING. My personal favorites were the shrimp dumplings, the hot and sour glass noodles, and the green beans. Thank you for such a great experience.

Jianlan Z.

Yelp
Ordered several dishes for our guests who love the spicy food all over the world. They really enjoyed everything here: Bobo chicken, the cabbage with sour and spice, the chicken with plenty of chilly pepper.... We are so glad that the restaurant is in the neighborhood.

Leonardo Z.

Yelp
If you want authentic Asian food then this is the place. I am surprised this place is only 4 stars when everything me and my hubby tried today was so delicious. Highly recommend everything we tried - scallion pancake, crystal shrimp dumplings, Szechuan beef, and spicy Dan Dan noodle soup. Will definitely be back to try more items as their menu is huge.

Jim B.

Yelp
I hadn't been here for many years. Upon entering, we were ignored by the woman at the front counter. We she finally acknowledged us, she was anything but friendly. Strike 1. The waiter, also less than friendly, seemed to be in a big hurry. We ordered the Szechuan shrimp, the Szechuan shredded beef and the low mein soft noodles. The lunch specials came with a cup of soup, an egg roll or a small salad. All of the food was very good and if it weren't for the ambivalence of the workers I would definitely consider coming back.

Greg L.

Yelp
A+ food and service, and authentic Szechuan cuisine, with imported chili peppers and seasonings you won't find elsewhere...truly unique menu (you can bet if you are a foodie, you'll delight in trying things you've never heard or imagined before)... sadly, they are closing this Monday night 8/28, but if you hurry this weekend, you can experience their amazing food...and a bonus- the owner Dani is giving everyone 20% their dine in orders as a thank you for our business..wishing Dani good luck in her next adventure.

Julia HR L.

Yelp
I'm addicted to their Szechuan spicy diced chicken! For some odd reason, the spiciness helps chase my stress away. This chicken is meant to be eaten with rice so it's supposed to be a bit salty. If you can handle spicy, this is a must try! All the staff and restaurant owners are all really nice. You'll definitely enjoy your time here!

Cindy T.

Yelp
Ordered through yelp for pick up. It was nice and easy. They blocked a table at the front door and brought out the food. We ordered: - Dan Dan Noodles - Pork Chow Mien - Curry Chicken They all tasted great. Was hoping for more peanut sauce for the Dandan Noodles though. But check out my photos - the container is amazing! Onto the pork chow mien. I ordered it because of how it looked on the menu. It is the canto crispy kind which you don't get often. I even made sure the number matched when I placed the order. But womp womp, when I opened it, it was nothing like the photo on the menu. But it was still good. Curry Chicken was really good and reminds me of home. Their chicken are think slices though, not the big chicken thighs chunks. And they also have fried potatoes, mushroom and bell peppers in it. It's GOOOD! Can go with plain rice and noodles for DAYS!

N G.

Yelp
So sad to hear they were closing! The best Chinese food in the valley. Their Szechuan peppercorn focused dishes are so amazing and unique, mapo tofu, fried chili dishes and everything really. The staff has been lovely as well. I hope I can find this style of food somewhere that is even half as good. Not sure how else to get in touch but I really wish the owners good luck on their next chapter. Thank you for having us

Jimmy D.

Yelp
I was hoping for some quality numbing spice but felt it was just an ok numbing spice. Fish in chili oil didn't have as much fish and more watery than I expected. We asked for some chili oil on the side and it was on the sweeter side. Not many people here on a Saturday night, so service was at least fast.

Yondon J.

Yelp
I really enjoy a good Chinese spot in the valley. In terms of quality of food it was great! No problem at all. I ordered the soup noodle dish which wasn't the best as there was too much noodle and not enough meat and the broth wasn't the best. The other dish I got was the Xiao Long Bao and it was delicious. Some of the higher quality Baos I had in a very long time, rivals that of din tai fung in Beverly Hills. Overall a cute and unique culinary spot in the valley and worth the stop!

Steph P.

Yelp
Whenever I'm craving Szechuan food I go here. Reminds me of Sichuan Impressions and Chengdu Taste in SGV but much closer to home :) I am OBSESSED with their spicy diced chicken. Tastes like chicharron de pollo but with Szechuan flavors of course. So dang tasty. Don't be afraid to try it. I know it looks like it will be insanely spicy but it's actually not that hot. I think the average person would be able to handle the spice level and numbing peppercorns.

Joshua S.

|[ c r a v e d ]| I was hardcore craving spicy broiled fish (水煮鱼) because it's winter and this was the closest place that looked authentic to me so I ventured out here and they didn't disappoint! It was a pretty nice restaurant, interior exceeded what I expected. Fancier than your typical 626 type Chinese restaurant. |[ c o n q u e r e d ]| Spicy broiled fish 3.5/5: decent, the soup could've been more flavorful besides just oil and spice and some pickled cabbages but still hit the cravings pretty good. The portion is HUGE so it's definitely meant to be shared between maybe 3-4 people. There were glass noodles at the bottom which made me happy because I love noodles. The only downside was that rice was extra $1 charge which I believe should've been included! I got medium spice level and it was just right not too crazy! Still needed the rice and water though haha. Dan Dan wontons 4/5: pretty good! A hint of sweet and peanut-ey. It was surprisingly pretty filling, I was already half full eating this before the main dish. I tried the soup dumplings and it was decent to me. There was a complimentary side of peanuts which had a sweet flavor but I wasn't crazy about it. |[ c o m e a g a i n ? ]| Overall, service was really great, food was decent with good proportions but rice will be extra. Parking is easy with the lot. Extensive menu, took me awhile to even find the basic spicy broiled fish lol. If you're craving spicy Sichuan food I'd rec this place.

Yelp
Hands down the best Chinese food in Northridge. This place is AMAZING and the owner is absolutely lovely. We always received excellent service and food.

Yelp
Authentic Szechuan cuisine here! Great service, atmosphere, and most importantlty bomb food that made me fulfill my Szechuan pepper nostalgia needs. The soup with steamed fish with bean sprouts and glass noodles was the best dish hands down, recommended by the owner herself! We also enjoyed the spicy chicken but be warned, it's pretty salty and is meant to be eaten with rice. The dan dan noodle was good with a peanut/savory broth (not as spicy) but I really enjoyed the authentic flavors of the fish stew. You won't regret trying this place!

Yelp
Parking: Located in a small plaza with parking I didn't actually eat here, but I ordered hot pot meat here. I was having hot pot at home and called in the day off to get 3 lbs of frozen sliced hot pot meat. I placed an order when they opened and asked if I can pick it up 2 hrs later, they said yes. It was $25 for 3 lbs of sliced beef. It was easy and the meat quality was great. Make sure you allow the meat the thaw for at least 2 hrs before using with the hot pot. The service and price was so awesome! Highly recommend!

Yelp
I am a little torn about this place! Tho the food was good, it wasn't as good as it could have been. The cumin beef for example was soooo heavy on the cumin you couldn't taste anything else. I love cumin but this was ALOT! And it was a shame because the beer was so tender and juicy but it couldn't be enjoyed. I also got the chicken that's drowning in pepper and I know that's the way the dish should be, but damn! Couldn't feel my tongue after just a few bites. I would try this place again but I guess with lots of substitutions.

Yelp
My friends and I stopped by here after getting our suits for my wedding.

Yelp
I was surprised that this place was empty on a Saturday afternoon for lunch, given it was a weekday. This place is so underrated! Such great, authentic Chinese food that was thoroughly enjoyed by me and my boyfriend. The staff is very friendly and the service was very fast. Since it is in a tiny little plaza, this place could really be considered a hole in the wall and one of the valley's best kept secret. I really do hope this place gets a lot of business though considering their food is delicious! The beef noodle soup was so tender and flavorful, it's hard to get those flavors right but this place does a fantastic job of delivering an authentic and delicious experience. The interior was clean and aesthetic as well, a big area for families and friend groups big and small! I would highly recommend this place to anyone who is in the mood for delicious Chinese food, and will definitely be coming back here to try more yummy things on their extensive menu!

Yelp
Came for the cozy interior; stayed for the excellent service and spicy Szechuan food! It seems to me that good Chinese dining is hard to come by--outside of Chinatown, anyway. The yelp photos of the lush, cozy interior convinced me to check out this hidden gem, tucked away in a small shopping strip. It did not disappoint! I think I found my new go to place for Chinese (Spicy Szechuan) dining! The food and attentive service were a big hit with both my date and I. We left full and very happy.

Yelp
My sister and I craving good Chinese for three months, but we wanted an experience. We wanted to know what more traditional Chinese food tasted thanks to our love of C-Dramas like the The Untamed or novels like The Dumb Husky and his White Cat Shizun. I was blown away with their dumplings and lotus root pork rib stew. To my Salvadoran American taste buds, the soup had a strong floral aftertaste but I was hooked. But we saw a nearby party eating something different from us. And we were curious. After my sister and I had very bad weeks, we decided to give ourselves hope. To treat ourselves for endearing the weeks, we would have hot pot at this restaurant. Because we didn't want to simply eat we wanted to have an experience. And the experience was delightful. The waiter was patient and kind explaining to us how to order the hot pot ingredients. What order the food needed to go in the pot to eat properly. To savor the new tastes in a different context. My only lament is that we should have never bothered to order the appetizers. The portions are huge. You are wasting stomach space if you get an appetizer that could be better served eating the main course. That said, I want to next time order the scallion pancakes. Next I might a basic American and order beef and broccoli with chow mein. Maybe I shall live out my childhood dream of eating roasted duck. What I do know that I will be coming back once I have the budget for it.

Yelp
We haven't eaten at the restaurant yet, only done takeouts but it's delicious! The ladies answering the phone and taking our orders is always so nice and friendly, and their food is always on point. So much flavor and spice! I've gotten medium spice and that was a bit spicy for me. We'll eat here for sure inside soon so will post pics then! :)

Yelp
This place is a very traditional Chinese place. The schezuan dishes that I got were saturated in chili oil and the soup dumplings weren't as "soupy" as you would expect. If you've never had traditional old-school Chinese food, you might be in for a shock. The flavors are very robust in some dishes and others can be very spicy. Their soups are hearty. For me, personally, I wanted something along the lines of less chili oil and more soup base but traditional Chinese flavors are very different than the Western palate. I've had traditionL Chinese food before. With that being said, I felt like my dishes were a bit too oily and salty. You can find a lot of better places in Chinatown if you want to make the drive. This schezuan place is just all right to me. They have ample parking. Also, the service is very minimal here. They serve you your food and you won't see them again until you get your check.

Yelp
7/16/21 Szechuan Place Great Authentic Szechuan Food. Always a joy coming here, with my Work-mates. Great staff. Always super Clean and spacious for big parties of 10 or more. We missed dining-IN at this place since we have been away from the CSUN office/campus, working remotely since March 2020. We recently visited this place again and the Owner greeted us (our Lunch Bunch), with Warm Welcomes... as if we have never been away. She remembered us and that helped put a smile on our face, given we all chose to meet for lunch here after 18 months being apart. It is a special place for us. Highly Recommend! Great Service. We'll be Back! Hope to see you there too!

Yelp
I've been desperately trying to find a good, all-purpose Szechuan restaurant, which is what brought me to Northridge to try this place (yes, I know there are good ones in the San Gabriel Valley, but that's way too far away). This large stripmall spot has a big menu and a good variety of vegan or veganizable dishes. The staff is friendly and can help you navigate things. We started with a plate of mixed cold side vegetables ($7). I loved the crunchy lotus root, but found the cucumber underwhelming and the black fungus way too vinegar-y. The dan dan noodle ($9.50) can be made vegan and was really tasty with a savory, addictive peanut sauce. Get this dish. The special dry fried string bean ($12) can be modified to be vegan but didn't really wow me. I like my green beans to be crunchier and more wok-seared; these were soft and over-cooked, without a ton of flavor. That said, this dish is a great alternative to rice. Lastly, the mapo tofu ($9.50) can also be modified to be vegan. I liked its heartiness and savory flavor, but it would have been better with Szechuan peppercorn. The service is friendly and the portion sizes are large. For Szechuan food in the San Fernando Valley, this place takes the cake.
