Let me advise future patrons. We ordered 3 sesame chicken from here on Tuesday, andvlet me say this it was nasty water down kibbles and bits of chicken balls. Today felt bad for my employees. We decided to try Golden Harvest on 12th n kiwanis approx. Their was much better n way cheaper and the service was spectacular. So save your money. Head on over to Golden Harvest. 1st Pic is schwan. 2nd Pic is Golden Harvest.

Food was ok. The staff was very friendly and helpful though. I’m used to really good Chinese food so it could just be me.

The shredded pork with pickle is super yummy. The pork is very tender. The taste is unique. Have eaten here for about 30 years. Alway the same. Always very tasty, and sauces are rich. I would recommend eating here to all who enjoy this kind of cuisine. Of course I'll be back.

I had the Szechuan lomein, didn’t know it came with a side of super dry fried rice, and a small soup. The lomein was so salty I felt nauseous after couple bites. I tried mixing the side of rice into it hoping it would lessen the salt with the bland rice but didn’t help. It was so over salted that I couldn’t taste anything but like eating a block of salt. Spicy and sour soup was definitively more sour than anything. Highly disappointed.

Sesame chicken was over salted and had a reheated texture. Wontons were excellent. Egg rolls were best I ever had. Fried rice literally had a single pea in it. Service was outstanding. Order placed around 645pm and was ready by 655pm on a Monday. Only a few tables were occupied.

We ordered to go as the restaurant isn’t open for indoor seating. Apparently they have not heard that Covid was 5 years ago! The food was hot and delicious though.

My mother (rest her soul) used to visit the N Minnesota location so much when she worked in downtown Sioux Falls that when she moved to Iowa and hadn't sat down to eat in years, the woman working immediately recognized her, and me as her youngest child now grown up. They have the best spicy sour soup you will ever eat (and the cheapest!) and all around the best Chinese you will ever have in Sioux Falls. Personal faves are the crab rangoon (amazing), shrimp in garlic sauce, duck in plum sauce and the duck in hot garlic, my mom loved combination low mein and anything with mushrooms! ANYTHING here is delicious! I stopped by tonight just for spicy sour soup and an eggroll and they accidentally forgot a fortune cookie. The last one I got was a perfect fortune for when I needed it saying "Don't give up, the beginning is always the hardest". I called the store and asked the nice young woman that helped me at the window if she'd just pick one and read it for me since I was home already and of course she did! And again - exactly something I needed. "You will do well to expand your horizon's". Also - something very relevant to my current circumstances. So if you want great food, great customer service and the best fortune cookies, Schezwan's is number one! It's the little things that can make a bad, or a mundane, or average day into something special, which is why I love Schezwan's! I hadn't visited often until recently again and it reminded me why my mother was a regular! Oh and the best hot food takeout that is exactly the same quality when you get home with your takeout!

Do not order online! It is so much better when your order in the line, rather than online. These folks, while they might make good food, are essentially, illiterate to the American language. They make no effort to understand you. Order, in person, and double check your order.

Yelp
Great place! Id highly suggest ordering off the Vietnamese menu. We tried Vietnamese#21 and added curry chicken at the suggestion of the waitress and it was fantastic. Bed of lettuce, cucumber, cilantro, topped with rice noodles and curried chicken with a light sauce that tied it all together. We'll totally be getting this again. The fresh spring rolls were perfect- the rice wrapper was done just right and wasn't too sticky. Peanut sauce that came with the spring rolls was a good balance of tangy and sweet. Atmosphere was clean and the service was great. The Chinese we tried was so so but I'll be back to try more (Beef Lo Mein was good)

Yelp
I used to love Szechuan. It was our go-to place to get good Chinese food. The last seven times we have ordered from them, the food has gotten worse and worse. The food is now always overcooked, has very little meat, and the containers are only filled about half-way to two-thirds full. If you are hankering for Chinese food, skip this place. This place is not worth your time, money, and precious taste buds.

Yelp
Terrific food. Too bad they don't have indoor dining anymore. Never had a bad experience.

Yelp
Really looking for a good Chinese food place here in Sioux Falls. Ordered this ahead of time. Friendly service and happily explained menu items. The menu is full of choices. Not always easy to read but don't leave much room to not choose your favorite dish. Ordered the crab Rangoon. They were cooked well. The stuffing was mild in taste. Crab was minimal which disappointed me. I ordered the steak and shrimp on fried rice. Meat wasn't tender and little over fried. Flavor was good and I enjoyed the sauce. My other half had the sesame chicken over fried rice. It was dry. I feel the flavors would have been great if it was fresher. Will try again just to be sure.

Yelp
Giving this 2 stars ONLY because of the pleasant people you deal with. Very kind and happy. Only takeout available so no ambiance. But very disappointed in food taste and quality. We had a rather large order and none of it was hot enough, had no flavor, chicken was hard and freezer burnt taste. Kung Pau only consisted of chicken, few chili pepper and few peanuts. No taste and missing ingredients. Overdone egg roll. Most didn't even eat first helping of their order. Just totally dissatisfied altogether.

Yelp
This could be the worst Chinese food I've had here in Sioux Falls hands down....um and that's including Mall Chinese!!! Let's start with tasteless wonton soup - might as well just put water add some yellow food coloring and call it a day because that's basically what it was. No flavor, the wonton was just a wonton with no filling - and no flavor. Horrible!! Let's move on to the sweet and sour chicken that was swimming in sweet and sour sauce that I literally had to wipe pieces off because there was so much sauce - even though I ordered (sauce on side please) but that didn't matter! Also in my chicken was mushrooms, corn pieces, onions, carrots, broccoli? Not usually what I see in a sweet and sour but whatever. Also, out of the eight pieces of chicken I had, only ONE PIECE of white meat all the rest were stringy dark meat! GROSS! SOGGY! Next, my husband had the beef and peanut for his meal. One word...BLAND! That's it. We also tried the cream cheese wontons - ok, those were edible! Those did not go directly into the garbage. Otherwise, Everything went directly into the garbage. Nothing like throwing $46.00 directly into to the garbage for garbage food! I can't believe this place is still open! Plus, the service at the "drive thru only" definitely needs some work...there's a problem when I drive away and I'm thanking them for my food - shouldn't they be thanking me for my business first?!? Thanking me for stopping by?!?! Idk

Yelp
I have been going here since I was little. It has always been one of my favorites! Sometimes service is slow, but one thing I love is that every thing is made fresh when ordered! When I dine in if I have questions about items they are happy to answer. They always have recommendations when I want to try something new!

Yelp
I had Hot & Sour Soup and that was pretty tasty. Then I tried to eat the Mongolian Beef which I love. Omg, it was so tough & gristly that I chewed until my jaws hurt. I finally spit it out. Worst MB I've ever eaten. I guess the best bet is to stick chicken dishes since they must buy the cheapest cuts of beef.

Dee W.

Yelp
So overpriced. I like their fried rice but do not understand why the beef fried rice has such a big piece of fried bread beef. Omg please cut it up into pieces if you're charging 13 bucks for one order.

Yelp
I have loved this place for over 20 years. Drive thru option is quick, their chicken fried rice and egg rolls is amazing and they are always friendly. Place is older and a little rough around the edges but food is great!

Yelp
Food is good and prices are decent for the amount you get. One of the better Chinese restaurants i have tried in town.

Yelp
So I called to place an order for delivery. The lady that answered told me she can't take my order and to call back in 45 minutes????? Ok I was told the food is amazing so I bought into it and against my better judgement called back. A very friendly guy answered and was happy to take my order. I placed my order of 4 items. He said he would throw in the rice. With 6 bottles of pop since we were in our hotel room with an out of order vending machine for the weekend. The total came to $74 bucks! Honestly I get that at home for 40 bucks. So the delivery guy came and was very friendly and I'm sure it was the same guy that took my order. The food... it wasn't bad, but it wasn't nearly as good as what I get in Pierre. Maybe s different part of China I don't know. But for the price it should have been amazing. I will try another place next time I'm in the Sioux Falls area.

Yelp
Food was good, not great. Pretty much what you'd expect from a Chinese take out. My one complaint would be that not all the menu items were descriptive enough. Some of what I had ordered and expected to be straight forward had ingredients people in my party were allergic to. Over all pretty decent meal. Staff is kind and quick.

Daniel K.

Yelp
Amazing cashew chicken and sesame chicken. Always get the hula beef sticks. Prices are great as well. Great atmosphere and very friendly staff

Yelp
Have been eating at this restaurant for years! Never lets me down. I always sample various dishes on the menu and love absolutely all of them. Robert always greets me with a smile, says hello to my family as does the rest of the staff. Very friendly place to go, you feel like family. My all-time favorite is either Mongolian beef or steak and shrimp sizzling

Two weeks later the bill goes thru at $106 so call the 1 manager they have and says he never talked to me:( LIAR!!!! Yelp
Delicious! We had the Steak & Shrimp Sizzling and Szechwan Chicken during our last visit. Both were excellent. Steak & Shrimp was served to us on a sizzling hot plate, which made the place smell great (plus fun to see as the food and sauce was mixed together near our table). Szechwan Chicken is a dish we always get there. Chicken & vegetables in the hot garlic sauce was superb! Looking forward to trying many other dishes there, as their menu has a great variety. If you're looking for great Chinese, I would recommend stopping at Szechwan!

Yelp
The Da-chin chicken has a fantastic garlic sauce that is very unique and delicious. If you like any beef dishes you have to try their steak and shrimp sizzling plate, Mongolian beef, or szechwan beef.

Pilar G.

Yelp
I'm not going to lie, I was pretty bummed by this place. It has a really good word-of-mouth reputation- obviously the Yelp reviews are a more accurate reflection. The beef with garlic sauce tasted like oysters. It was the most bizarre thing. I had to stop eating it. Now, I don't mind oysters, of course. Just not when my beef tastes like it. Maybe they were using too much oyster sauce? The egg rolls were pretty bitter as well. The crab Rangoons were very meh, rice was weirdly dried out. It's cool that they have a drive-thru, even though we did not use it. The service was quick. The order was ready about 10 minutes after we ordered on the phone (which may or may not be a good thing). I thought it was a little overpriced for takeout Chinese compared to other places in the area. I was not impressed and I won't be back.

Corey H.

Yelp
Great sit down chinese with friendly service and good food! I dont normally dine in with chinese, but this place may have changed my mind!

Yelp
Ordered recently from their restaurant and in times past, the service was good as was the food. Recently ordered from them and had the food delivered and the order was wrong. Called and was told that the order was wrong as two plates were wrong. I was told that it would be replaced and taken care of. Guess what, nothing!! Called back and the manager claimed that he didn't know anything about it!! I asked again for the order to be replaced and guess what, nothing. No refund, replacement food or anything!! The service and customer service is awful!! You would think that they would go out of their way for their customers to make them happy, especially for my family, who either goes there or orders from them at least 8 or more times a year. Well, guess what? You're not the only restaurant in town. I guess I'll give Dynasty or one of the other Chinese restaurants in town my business!!

Yelp
The *best* won ton soup! Great service and loved our entrees too! Another good restaurant in Sioux Falls. Good Chinese in South Dakota - who knew!

Yelp
If I could give this place 0 stars I would. I went through the drive though and the lady was rude. I asked if I could get my sweet and sour chicken without veggies and she was rude but said yes. I got to the window and she was rude. She took my card and was gone for several minutes. I didn't know it was so long of a process swiping a credit card. When I left I saw her outside smoking, that explains the rudeness, I interrupted her smoke break. I get home and my chicken is cold (I dont live that far away) and the chicken is mostly breading, hardly any chicken inside of it. It was dry and tasted like it was either old or refried before it was given to me. Or both. I do not recommend this place to anyone. This place was terrible and I will not be going back ever again.

Todd D.

Yelp
In town for a soccer tourney and came across this place. Wasn't sure since it had a drive through but was pleasantly surprised. Hot & Sour soup was delicious, great fried rice and beef & broccoli. Will go again.

Lori G.

Yelp
Love the Happy Family, tried sever other dishes and all good. Service is good, excellent choice for Chinese food in Sioux Falls!
google avatar

Rochelle B.

Yelp
Overly breaded dishes. The chicken inside was dry. Pork tasted gross. Overall, the food was lacking in flavor, plus sauce was just poured on and not cooked with the meat at all. Thus the sauce was a different temperature than the meat. I will not return.

Deborah A.

Yelp
Stopped for a late lunch on a weekday while traveling to see family for Thanksgiving. My husband spotted the name and wanted to come here since he loves Szechuan Chinese cooking. He "gobbled" down his Szechuan chicken - the whole thing even though he normally eats half that amount. It had the right amount of spice and was a good sized portion. I loved my chicken with almonds. Lots of veggies and a very tasty brown sauce. A little on the salty side but I don't mind that. The fried rice is nothing special- not much but rice, but at least it wasn't greasy like some places. The service was pleasant and fast.

Lilia F.

Yelp
disappointment. disappointment. The place is very nice but the food is simple and not tasty. No matter what you order it tastes the same. Mostly taste of salt

Yelp
Great food (best wonton soup and crab rangoon)! love the decor ( not every Chinese restaurant looks the way this one does) Awesome fish tank! its quiet and the service is awesome! my bf and I have been come here for over a year! and our top choice for date nights is always this place!

holly f.

Yelp
All time favorite chinese place. Crab rangoon are the best. Make a point to visit every time I'm In town. And Robert remembers me every time! Only wish they had a location in AZ.
