"If you live around Melrose and Fairfax, Ta-eem is a secret you have tried to keep to yourself for as long as possible. This order-at-the-counter and completely Kosher Mediterranean restaurant is home to some of our favorite shawarma in the city, and a $22 dinner plate that comes with hummus, Israeli salad, and basically an entire plastic bag of pita bread. That might seem a bit steep for a plate of shawarma, but just now that portions here are massive and can easily be two meals. Come peak dinner rush, the large space is slammed with every family in the neighborhood, which is why we recommend taking advantage of their well-oiled takeout situation instead. Food Rundown Shawarma Plate Very juicy, very crispy, and very delicious–those are the three best ways to describe this big platter, which also comes with crunchy Israeli salad and their 10/10 hummus. There are also plenty of other sides, like pickles and cabbage slaw, to pick at while stuffing your face with shawarma, but we’re big fans of the warm pita bread for the table. Falafel Pita The crispy falafel is the other shining star here, but it’s the joint efforts of all the tasty condiments that make this sandwich one of our favorites. Along with the very necessary garlicky tahini dressing, we love the Israeli salad, babaganoush, creamy purple cabbage slaw, and the combination of red and green chili paste that brings that bit of heat that makes us feel alive again. Pargiot Baguette Big chunks of dark meat chicken are grilled with tons of onions and garlic, and it’s absolutely delicious. This all gets stuffed inside a fluffy sesame-crusted “baguette” (it’s really a sub) that receives your choosing of hummus, babaganoush, a variety of crunchy salads, and your choice of spicy or not. Ful Hummus This is the kind of hummus we dream about in moments of emotional vulnerability, and it’s perfect. The mix of chickpea and fava beans creates a thick but silky smooth consistency, and we love the strong hints of garlic, paprika, and lemon too." - Team Infatuation

Absolutely an atrocity to call this place Ta-Eem. Honestly, HORRIBLE. The old Ta-Eem on Melrose was a god sent and one of my favorite places in LA, this place is trash. Half the portions, food is clearly made without love or fresh ingredients—the quality is what you would expect from a McDonalds (if that). We paid for an extra pita (you used to get two and now only one) and they forgot it. The chicken tastes like wet old feet. The hummus is glue. The Israeli salad is what you expect from a cruise buffet, the other two sides were almost nonexistent. The hot sauce is mayonnaise?! Not the beautiful hot sauce from before. I actually can’t believe how trash this place is, a raccoon wouldn’t even be happy. NEVER going here again and if you loved the old Ta-Eem continue grieving and let me know if you ever find a similar place. This is my hand for portion sizes…pathetic. $30 down the drain

Well just experienced my first catfish. This was not Ta-Eem. The owners should take their name back because what they built will be tarnished. Food is not the same. Just a kosher ghost kitchen. Chicken shawarma is not authentic. Hummus a little bland, Israeli salad was oddly minced cubed, pita not the fluffy kind from before, and smaller portions with a higher cost. Just like the other comments, not the same.

All around terrible experience, from entering and ordering to the quality of food. The vibes were severely off as soon as I entered, no real menu for multiple customers to read off of. The beef kabob was barely cooked with pink still in the middle and prices were out of control for what you got - $20 after tax for meat between pita with NO vegetables inside? Absurd. My friend ordered a chicken shawarma and when the person at the register asked if he wanted any dipping sauces he said no which she thought translated to nothing in the sandwich?? How do you make a shawarma with only chicken and bread. Madness. Listeria shawarma. Two stars for the food because the chicken did have some flavor but it wasn’t a chicken shawarma that’s for sure. See the alleged shawarma in the picture and let me know if that’s an actual chicken shawarma….. .. a 20 DOLLAR chicken shawarma .. absolute madness. To note this business is no longer run by original Ta-Em business.

What happened, is this place still open? Came here 3 different times to get the best hummus that LA has to offer and they were closed but the google says they were open. What happened? Have they really shut down for real? 2/29/24 Tried the under new Management Ta-Eem Grill and it's seriously a waterdown version of the original place. The one on Melrose cut their beets fresh these look from the can. They don't have the tahini. Atmosphere wise the owner could tell I was a new customer by my questions and maybe it would not have bothered me so much, but they way he said hello to other customers surely didn't seem to welcoming. I mean I'm not asking for trumpets but a simple Hi would be nice instead of a stare right through me. Maybe it was how the original owner treated me that makes me so nostalgic. I thought original owner moved but he's retired, and so has the awesome quality that he had to offer, sadly. I remember my 1st time at the original place on Melrose, how the flavors of everything danced on my pilot. Nothing tastes quite the same.

No longer Taeem. Taeem is now a menu at Kosher Madness (one of several). The shawarma is decent, the Yakisoba chicken bowl is good, though the $4 upcharge for yakisoba noodles over white rice is too high. The chicken dumplings were fried chicken pieces in a wanton wrapper - exactly as I described it. I'm not sure it's seasoned at all and the accompanying dipping sauce seemed very strange and added nothing of value. I would not get the dumplings again. I do look forward to trying other items on the menus, though.

Have been coming here for a number of years. Food has always been great. Chicken pargiot on laffa is a must. Hummus plate is divine as well. Recommended.

Great Israeli food. Good service. Tables, chairs and bathroom have all seen better days but passable. Sidewalk seating available.

Omgggggg there are no words for this place. I still cant Believe that the food that we just ate was Kosher. I have been Kosher for the past 20 years of my life and ever since i yet to find a place that actually can serve delicious food and actually call it kosher until NOW!!! Beyond delicious food, super flavorful every bite was so well made i still can’t believe it. My Entire family left, extremely happy and fulfilled with the portions. We had so much leftovers for the next day. Their dishes are large portions, and once again extremely delicious. I can’t believe I waited a whole month before I had the opportunity to go here but there’s nowhere else I will be going after this place. Everyone in my family was able to get something they loved from hamburgers to kabobs to Chinese food and way more. I promise you haven’t had real good kosher food till you try it HAVE FUN ENJOY!!
