The flavors are undeniably good. JUST BE AWARE WHAT YOU ORDER. they use potatoes to avoid filling the plate of the pricier steak and octopus. But can’t hate because the potatoes are good. Doesn’t really fill the belly otherwise.

Amazing dinner!! Victoria was espectacular and welcomed us with her great friendly smile. Every tapa dish we order was expertly done and delicious! Definitely for the more refined foodie palate! We definitely recommend dining at Tabernilla!!

I came across this place randomly while I was in town for work. And I am very glad I did. The food was absolutely fantastic and one of the best Tapas places I have visited in a long time. I'm looking forward to coming back to the Laredo just to eat here again.

Came here since this was within walking distance from our hotel. And let me tell you it did NOT disappoint!!! We were in Laredo 4 nights and we came here 2x!!! Big thanks to Carlos for taking care of us both times. I hope we took care of you too! He recommended a Spanish wine for us and that was spectacular! Along with all his recommendations! I’ll share photos of our meal. Delicious food and great outstanding service! When I come back to Laredo will def come here again and recommend others as well.

The place is very nice and very clean. Service was fantastic , our waiter was really friendly and very well informed. The food was fantastic.

The food here is delicious and authentic. I've been to other Spanish tapas places and they don't compare to the quality of Tabernilla. The staff is the best in town! They take the time to get to know their customer. It's a great place for special celebrations or business dinners.

Always a treat to go! Everytime we are in town, we eat there with family! This is the first place we love to go to! The tapas are the BEST! THEY ALSO KNOW THEIR WINE, BEER AND COFFEE! You can't go wrong at Tabernilla!

Everything there is delicious! It's like an appetizer restaurant. My wife and i were choosing things at random and nothing disappointed. The staff were very friendly and have us their suggestions on what to try. Would definitely go there again.

I have always wanted to try this restaurant when i visit my hometown and the opportunity for a girls dinner came by and i decided to try it out. The food was delicious and reasonably priced. I cant gush enough about their wine selection especially the garnacha. The server was amazing and timely. Excellent service and would come by at the perfect time and was very knowledgeable of the menu and drinks. His suggestions were awesome! It is an intimate setting great for date nights or a catch up with the crew to chismiar y andar en buen humor! Beautiful decor as well.

Review #1200! Seeing this pop up on my YELP feed, I got super excited seeing this in Laredo as I'm a huge fan of tapas/small plate dining. Whenever I'm in Laredo for work, I make sure we do a team dinner here as this is one of Laredo's best restaurants IMO. First, food is absolutely dynamite. There's so many options to pick from and easy to taste many dishes without being overly gluttonous as the dishes are small and can be shared. Some dishes are individual such as the montadito (toasted baguette topped with something) and the pintxos (small skewered bites). For the montadito, the salmon and the pato membrillo are both excellent (each have a cream cheese spread for a nice silky texture with the meats). The datil pintxo is basically a bacon wrapped date x2 with some queso crumble, thinly sliced duck, and spanish migas; one of my favorite items. As for the traditional tapas dishes, there's plenty of delicious options such as the patatas bravas, croqueta de pollo y mancha (think of a spanish mozzerella stick), pulpo plancha (sauteed potatoes and octopus), veggie empanada, and the tortilla espanola (potato/egg omelette slice). All have excellent combinations of flavors and textures with nice presentations. Pair them with your favorite wine or one of their cocktails such as their Kalimotxa (red sangria + coke) for taste bud explosions! Service is on point. At our most recent visit on a Wednesday in January, our server Aurora took time to explain what the dishes entail and gave some great recommendations. Because of her, we tried a combination of everything such as the albondigas de cordero (beef/lamb meatballs) and the queso de cabra (crispy goat cheese with honey). One of our diners doesn't like goat cheese yet tried the queso de cabra; she may have converted after tasting it! Aurora also gave good drink recommendations to pair with the food; that's how I got my 2011 Baron de Magana red wine which complimented our dishes. She's a rockstar for this establishment. The interior of the place has a dimly lit atmosphere with some spanish music playing making the place a nice spot for group meals or dates. I noticed some couples sharing plates and wine having intimate moments and some single diners sipping on cocktails and munching on a charcuterie selection while soaking in their surroundings. You'll see some wine bottles on display with some matador artwork and mirrors lined up on the booths with the leather seats. Very comfortable; felt like we were transported to Spain having a meal with our family. The dining scene in Laredo got turnt up with this spot being here off of Bob Bullock. Part of my restaurant rotation in Laredo, every single person I have brought here raves about this spot and for good reason. Props to chef Roberto Gonzalez, his cooking staff, and front of house staff such as Aurora for what they do!

Food was delicious, decently priced for tapas. Service was great! Beto was very friendly as recommended some tasty selections. Ambiance is not to casual not to formal. Right in the middle. When I am in the area again I will be back.

Close to the airport this place has excellent tapas! I had a spinach salad with yummy cheese and peppers to start along with the fried goat cheese and garlic prawns. I kind of ate everything together, and it was all very good. My friend ordered the shrimp vermicelli and was disappointed it was a basic spaghetti with tomato sauce dish. It was not what either of us was expecting. The service was a little odd...our server was behind the bar looking at his phone for a while when we were hungry and trying to place our order. Once the order was in the dishes came out within 10 minutes - that was one positive. Parking was available out front and other than the issue of ordering I liked what I ordered and enjoyed the ambiance of the space.

Five star experience for me all around, I personally haven't gone to Spain to see what the tapas are like but I figure this might be the closest experience I will get. My favorite tapas are queso cabrete de crujiente(goat cheese with orange glaze) and datil(Mahon, bacon wrapped date with a thinly sliced pâte. Tabernilla ambience is great too, not too dark but just enough light to see your food and your surroundings. Both sangrias are great but when it's warm the blanco sangria is my go to! I've the paella twice at different times, and also very flavorful. The service I've experienced also has been top notch, always attentive.

Best dinner experience I've had in Laredo! Dishes: - Datil - patatas bravas - esparragos serranos - albondigas - gambas - garbanzo a la gallega - pastel xtra virgen The absolute show stopper for me was the chickpea dish. It was also the one I didn't grab a photo of, since I got it to go. Incredibly good. Should've ordered two. Service was friendly and attentive. The bartender and manager were both super knowledgeable. I'll absolutely make this a regular dinner spot next time I'm in town.

Everything was amazing, the meatballs, shrimp, pork belly, sweetbreads, octopus....yes i ate them all! Back again and yes i ate them all again!

I am less than happy about writing this review. I spent a great deal of time reviewing the menu and putting my order together and telling everybody on Instagram and the company I was auditing that I'm going to have to tapas tonight. I forgo closer restaurants to drive out to this location only to be greeted by a closed restaurant with their sign on. I don't know why they are closed. There is no door note or any notification on Yelp or anywhere else. I was so very disappointed in this. I do not know that I will ever be back to Laredo and I was really hoping to eat here. I ended up going to a sushi restaurant next-door, which did not have much in the way of sushi but the few items I picked were very good. Nonetheless I was very disappointed in this restaurant. Update your hours and Yelp!

I was staying in a hotel nearby for business and was surprised to find this place. I sat at the bar and their wine selection is great and everything was so tasty. I had a variety of meats, cheeses, asparagus, meatballs etc! Their "miti bleu" cheese was some of the best I've tasted. If you're in Laredo, don't miss this place!

Lovely restaurant, lovely staff, and great food! Visited on Friday evening and no wait at all. They have a full bar as well. Medium noise level. Ask for recommendations but for starters you can choose some cheeses and meats. Octopus is delicious and beef is chefs kiss!

Oh happy birthday to me! On the road for business and had to drop in after reading all the reviews. Sat at the bar and had amazing service. So many choices I just let them make the recommendations. I had at least 7 different tapas dishes and all were fantastic. An explosion of flavor. Definitely worth the visit and say hi to May at the bar. She's always there. Always! :)

I love this place! Lychee capirini is my favorite drink. All the little entrees are delicious. Service is great and staff is friendly. Great atmosphere.

I would give this restaurant 10 stars if possible. This is a Atlanta or Nee York style eatery. The wait staff is so attentive, the food is original, stunningly presented and the mixologist with the drinks is amazing. Just watching the meat being so beautifully carved was mesmerizing. I would travel to Laredo just to eat at this restaurant! In fact my husband did just that. Tabernilla is a must go to place, even if it's just for drinks it is unforgettable.

B!! She's the best! Our favorite bartender in the Lone Star State besides our son back in Austin of course! We started with the bottle of Grenache after a few samples for my picky wine snob husband! Then we ordered the goat cheese balls with honey! So so good! We also ordered the chcutterie board with several cheeses and the specialty pork that only eats acorns! Ask B.. she will hook you up! We got a a sample first! Ordered the Spanish toast with our cheese tray selection! The mustard seed was so good! We loved our wine, food and most importantly our service at the car with B and also the manager that took care of us on the patio before we decided to move inside! My husband loved the wine and the tapas so much that when it was done he said he wishes we could do it all again... and we will! We loved our bartenders She is super knowledgeable on everything from wine to gin to tequila and let me add... she slices some fruits like a pro! She's truly a great conversationalist and our time at the bar with her was the best part of my visit to Laredo so far.. This will be our go to spot while my husband is here on a mission... it is walking distance from our hotel. She recommended so many other options on the menu that we need to try... we may be back this evening to get dessert.. we are headed next door to their sister company.... Thanks B! Many people recommended me to go to Tabernilla for their Paella so I had to try it! As I entered the restaurant I was quickly greeted by the hostess which was friendly. Waiting time was not long and that to me is important. The waiter, Lulu, provided great selections from the menu and even gave us recommendations. We ordered a Paella with chicken and chorizo and boy was I in for a surprise. The paella was hot and delicious! The rice was cooked to perfection and overall had an assortment of fantastic flavors. As per the menu, the dish serves from 2-6 people. In my party we were 4 and each served ourselves 2 dishes and still had left overs (Note: paella's do take 30 minutes of preparation since it requires special handling - all worth it though.) Lulu, also suggested for us to try one of their specialty wines and so we ordered a bottle (excellent wine choice btw.) The atmosphere is chic and Spanish. Ole! The display of the wines and meats is fantastic and truly makes the experience memorable. The service was overall great and will definitely continue coming to Tabernilla. 5 star service!

I always try to be kind, I did not understand what I was walking into. I thought it was a Mexican steak house and was excited. Well I ordered the steak. Only one on menu. It was not what I would expect for a restaurant of this stature. I ate quickly and left. I do have to say that one of the staff did take time to explain the menu to me. The setting is nice and if I was looking for the correct service this restaurant provides I may have been better experience. But as It was it was one of the worst steaks I have had in a long time.

The food is amazing and deserves all the recognition it gets. The staff is friendly and I especially love the bartenders. I like sitting at the bar and enjoying the house Sangria. The restaurant is also beautiful and I love its dark and romantic atmosphere. Perfect for (first) dates.

Usually enjoy this place when in Laredo but this experience not so good .. ugh I love this place. Calamari was less than good, very chewy and was stringing like spaghetti lol , the croustinis were almost burnt so any tapa tasted like the burnt bread , I pointed it out to waitress and she said oh yeah sometimes that happens and smiles walked away , . I am unsure about the service anymore although the manger is great and kept asking me if ok. I didn't tell him about bread Only to see if the lady at the bar working on 8/17 at 7pm would inform him and apparently she didn't. Honestly all I taste now is burnt bread lol . Oh well I so hope it was isolated cause I want this place to succeed but attention to detail at the cost of a dinner is crucial in my option .

This restaurant has a very nice bar with a nice selection of mixed drinks, beers, and Spanish and South American wines. I had a board of Spanish dried meats, sausage and cheese and olives which was generous and delightful. There is also a fine selection of Tapas as well as entrees. My waiter was friendly and helpful. Finished off the meal with a fine aged Portuguese port. Great place for either a light meal or a full meal.

Do not miss this place! I've travelled to Spain many times and this is as close to authentic Spanish tapas as you can find in the US . Everything was served perfectly. Well proportioned and very reasonable. You will not be disappointed.

Forget to rate this place, was such an awesome experience. We were a big party and the main dude was dope and his patience to help us out because it was our first time there. Everything was great we had some youngsters too n the dude hooked us up with meal preferences for them as well. Can't wait to go back and enjoy this great establishment again.

Was in Laredo for the weekend. I love tacos, fajitas and all Mexican food that the town has to offer. This Saturday afternoon my friend and I felt like something different. Tabernilla is definitely different. As soon as you enter the front door you are transported to Spain, for a two hour vacation. I thought about seating next to the beautiful mature lady at the bar but opted for a table. First we snacked on olives and cheese. Then had the garlic shrimp, the white bean soup, meatballs. All the food was excellent. Throughout our 2 hour meal we enjoyed to pitchers of Sangria. I will go again. Perfect place for a first date or a "movida" meal.

Start off with the agua de Valencia. I crave the queso de cabra with the honey and walnuts. Make your own cheeseboard! I love the manchego and variety of meats.

Finally got to try this place. The setting is very nice, menu has variety of options. The dishes came out quickly. We tried several different options, look forward to going back.

My wife had her 40th birthday party and I wanted to do something nice. I spoke with the head chef and he showed me how to reheat the rice and explained that the rice is actually better the second day, but the proteins don't hold up as well. So he showed me how to cook the shrimp so they were fresh and warm up the rice covered in the oven. He gave me the paella pans to heat it with because the party was on a Sunday and they're closed sundays. I can't even begin to express to you how impressed everyone was with the paella and presentation of it in the pans. The level of customer service and desire to help me make my wife's birthday special makes this place absolutely fantastic. Good people, good food, good presentation. I loved it. One of the jewels of laredo for sure.

Being a traveler for medical, I often have a chance thank you check out the local restaurants. This one in particular, was absolutely amazing. The service was excellent, and food was even better. I will definitely return

Probably closer to 4.5 stars, but very very tasty tapas. Ordered the Patatas Bravas, Aros de Calamar, Queso de Cabra Cruijente, and Bife de lomo do porto. The Patatas Bravas were cooked to perfection, crispy outside, tender, piping hot inside, the sauce was good, but accentuated when dipped in the chili and salt mix. The Queso de Cabra was really really good, little croquettes of goat cheese, deep fried and topped with a honey/orange glaze. I could have eaten a dozen (only get 3/order). The Aros de Calamar were nicely fried, not too oily and crispy. The dipping sauce was subtle, but good. The steak with anchovy/port butter was OK...I ordered medium rare, was probably closer to medium. I've definitely had better steaks, but this wasn't a dedicated steak house, so they get a pass. The steak was more than acceptable. The house red sangria was tasty, not too sweet, not too bitter. They also have a great collection of tequila. Enjoyed a glass of Clase Azul with dinner. Overall a great experience, would highly recommend, definitely one of the nicer places to dine in Laredo.

Smoked salmon on a baguette spread with cream cheese and drizzled with truffle honey... Beautiful place, great service and impeccable presentation. True Spanish flair, warm and inviting. Only tried some of their tapas to go,...cannot wait to sit and enjoy this place soon.

Best place in Laredo!! Hands down. The bartenders know everything about the menu, can make all drinks amazing. Make sure you come here for at least one dinner if traveling. Make it the first one and you may come back twice.

This review is for a dinner for two at the bar on a Thursday evening. Service: Service at the bar was great. Very attentive without being intrusive. Bonus, you get to watch a number of tapas being assembled. We felt like our servers were able to guide us through the menu, which - like all tapas places - can overwhelm some diners. All the server's recommendations were helpful. bar I found an IPA, so I was happy. They had Oasis Metamodern in cans. My wife went with her usual cosmopolitan. I know we should have been drinking Spanish wine, but - hey - we are stuck in our ways. The wine list is impressive and well-constructed, but come prepared with some knowledge of Spanish wines or be open to advice from the waitstaff. food Being good tapas consumers, we worked our way through seven or more small plates. For Pintxo, we had the two of the date and two of the beef, both of which were excellent. We tried the chicken and manchego croquette, albondiguillas cordero, sweetbreads and alubia chorizo. All were great. For classics, we also had papa bravas and the tortilla espanola. There are as many versions of both dishes as there are tapas restaurants. Tabernilla's renditions were solid. We didn't feel the dollup of sour cream on the papas bravas added anything special? All in all, this kitchen is producing some of the most interesting food in the region. Remember, it's a tapas place, come prepared for a long evening with lots of taste treats and don't be shocked at the price - it's worth it! details The space feels intimate, without feeling small. We felt sitting at the bar was especially appropriate for a tapas place. They are clearly set-up to handle those who want to sit at the bar. The building appears relatively new, but the space doesn't feel commercial. The owner has clearly worked hard on creating a unique, welcoming space. Plenty of parking right outside.

If you love Tapas then this is the place for you! My husband and I are here from out of town and have made this our go to restaurant. The staff is super friendly and the tapas are incredible. We love building a meat and cheese plate!

Cozy, romantic, delicious, great service. Classy alternative to most places in this town.

It's a small place, gets way too loud and it's really hard to see the menu. The food is not bad but it's not as great as I expected it, especially considering the price. I had the Suquet de Peix (fish soup) and it was so disappointing. Barely any flavor and just felt very bland. It was $35. I don't think I would go again.

OMG. SO GOOD ! Jerry the Manager recommended a few apps which is what this place mostly consists of. Small little bite sized samples of Spaniard goodness all in one bite. Drinks? Bomb Prices? Cant beat them. Will definitely come back and hopefully have my same server Beto. He was our server at another restaurant that week and he remembered exactly how I like my drinks. Very hard to find good service like that these days. Thank You Tabernilla ! Highly recommend =)

Tabernilla is so fantastic, I wish I could hang here every day. Tabernilla rocks in every way. I couldn't decided what to order, but I am so happy that I had Albondigas, it was absolutely outstanding. Not to mention, the service was fantastic and the staff was very courteous. Definitely will be back.

I was very impressed! I had a charcuterie board and a beer. Great selection of drinks. Very knowledgeable staff. Food was delicious!! The decor is perfect and was accentuated with perfect music. It seemed like a great place for a quiet romantic dinner, unfortunately I was alone... the manager took my order and I referred to his expertise for the meat and cheese choices. He made excellent choices. I will definitely be back...maybe even tomorrow night Ok so I had to come back... can it be possible that it was even more delicious the second night?? It's true. The second night I got to enjoy edible masterpieces. I got wonderful recommendations from the manager and the helpful wait staff. I tried different tapas, pintxos and montaditos. Amazing combinations of flavors that really work! Highly recommend it once again!

This may be my favorite restaurant to go to in Laredo now! Me and my girlfriend went yesterday and the service, food, and wine was amazing. The only down part is if you're super hungry and want a big meal it's not the place to go. But the variety of dishes that were so different than anything I've ever seen was amazing. The owner even came over to our table to help us choose different cheeses and meats for our platter. Overall a great experience and atmosphere. Will definitely be here again!

Definitely a step up from typical Laredo tacos. They offered a superb selection of tapas that can't be found anywhere else in Laredo. Portions are super small but that is the point: small so you can try everything. Too bad they have a full price on everything. Definitely a special occasion place because of the cost but everything else is spot on.

Took my mother in law here and it was one of the best meals I have ever had! We were delighted by all our tapas choices. If we had room to eat more, we would have! Thank you for the delicious dinner, we will be back!

Great food! Every tapa dish was unique and flavorful! Really enjoyed the ambiance! And our waiter was awesome at encouraging us to try new things! Really recommend!
