Midtown Atlanta Indian Restaurant Tabla Opens a Second Location on Pharr Road in Buckhead | Eater Atlanta

"A second location of a popular Midtown Indian restaurant opened March 16 at the Modera complex along Pharr and Peachtree roads in Buckhead; owner Sandeep Kothary—who launched the original Midtown spot in 2013 and expanded its interiors three years ago—signed the lease prior to the pandemic. The menu largely mirrors the Midtown offerings but adds Buckhead-exclusive items such as rajasthani kharagosh (braised rabbit loin in a spicy tomato and onion sauce), baluchi murg tikka (spicy grilled chicken), and gobi mausallam (baked cauliflower in cashew gravy), served alongside well-loved dishes like duck confit samosas, butter chicken, and dal bukhara (ginger- and garlic-infused black lentils). Lunch includes thali specials, wraps, and salads. The space features a dining room, a large bar with high-top tables, a small private dining room, and a patio that the owner plans to make all-weather; the location is currently awaiting liquor license approval, after which themed cocktails (chai Old Fashioned, Delhi mule) plus Indian beers and wine will be available. Hours vary by day, masks are highly encouraged, and online takeout is offered." - Beth McKibben

A Second Location of Indian Restaurant Tabla Is Opening in Buckhead, Atlanta | Eater Atlanta

"Opening next fall in the Modera Buckhead apartment complex at the corner of Peachtree Street and Pharr Road, I expect Tabla’s Buckhead outpost to keep the Midtown menu—duck confit samosas, a variety of curries and thalis, and butter chicken—while offering a very different look and feel inspired by owner Sandeep Kothary’s hometown of Jodhpur in Rajasthan; the new space will seat around 85 across a dining room, private dining room, and patio. The restaurant first opened in 2013 at the 12th and Midtown development, serves both lunch and dinner, and Kothary says not to expect major menu changes despite the expansion." - Beth McKibben

Authentic Indian taste in any dish that you will order, have been here few times and never got disappointedly. Only issue is the quantity is very less and I mean very less because chicken appetizer will come in only 3-4 pieces. Parking is in the back and even the road side parking is paid but can be reimbursed before paying for the food

I ordered takeout from this restaurant and was really disappointed. I paid around $100 for 3 dishes and 3 naan, but the quantity was shockingly small for the price. My main disappointment was with the appetizer, which cost around $17 and came with only 3 small pieces of chicken, one slice of lemon, and a few slits of onion that’s it. The rumali roti was also disappointing its texture was more like a regular chapati than an actual rumali roti. Both curries had very little chicken: just a few small pieces in the Kali Mirch Chicken and about four pieces in the Chicken Tikka Masala. The taste was just okay, nothing special to justify such a high price. Overall, very poor value for money. I definitely wouldn’t order from this place again.

I visited this restaurant while in Atlanta for a conference and placed a to-go order totaling over $60. Despite being from out of town, I was told I could not wait inside for my food and was asked to leave. Moments later, however, a DoorDash driver was allowed to stand in the very same spot where I had been. This inconsistency felt disrespectful and unfair. As a paying customer, I expected at least the same courtesy extended to delivery drivers. In the attached photo, you can see the DoorDash driver standing inside while my reflection is outside. The DoorDash has been here for over 15 minutes and I’ve been here for at least 25. I am extremely disappointed with how I was treated and will not be returning to this establishment. I believe an explanation is warranted for this treatment-and everyone should be treated equally. Also, no napkins or silverware whatsoever- should have read the reviews. Flavor is just not there with the butter chicken no depth I agree with the other comment where it tastes like canned tomato sauce. This is nothing special. After spending that amount of money and the location, I thought the food would’ve been better and especially the service.

Food was great. Service was pleasant. I love Indian cuisine. We got seated right away. Appetizers came up fairly quickly and portion sizes were pretty standard. I would recommend and go back again.

We went to this place on our team lunch. We had few out of town team members joined us and wanted give them good food experience in Atlanta. And food was indeed awesome. But where I went from 5 star to 2 star is our server and manager. When we were done with food and it was time to pay bill, we asked for 8 checks or 8 way to pay, so that each individual can contribute to Bill. We were told that, we should have told them before sitting that we want to pay individual. We asked to see manager, and he was even more rude. Finally when we did not agree, they agreed to split bill into 2 bills and then each bill could be paid with 3 Credit Cards. We were told that Bill could be split maximum 3 ways only. I will not suggest anyone going there.

My girlfriend and I had an extremely disappointing birthday experience at Tabla. We were seated indoors at what was clearly an outdoor metal table with a tablecloth thrown on it, too low/weirdly shaped to fit our legs under, shoved against a scuffed and stained white support wall in the middle of the restaurant. Not exactly welcoming. It took nearly 10 minutes before anyone even came to our table. When I finally got my soda, it came in a Hawaiian tiki cup…confusing choice for an Indian restaurant. We ordered the cauliflower appetizer and it was actually quite good. The Butter Chicken sauce tasted like canned tomato soup…no depth or spices. We asked to box up some leftovers, they gave us cheap plastic containers in a brown paper lunch bag. The whole experience felt careless and thrown together. We won’t be back.

Could skip this place and get better off Buford hwy. For 25.00 a plate and the garlic naan being 7.00 an order the quality of meat was similar to what you’d get in a frozen meal from Trader Joe’s…….. garlic naan was not good. Sauce tasted very much like tomato soup. Tikki masala meat was better than butter chicken but sauce was even more reminiscent of Campbell’s tomato soup. It smells amazing when you walk by so I was shocked at price vs taste vs quality.

Overall, very interesting and tasty Indian food place. The Parda Biryani was not only visually pleasing to see opened up, but it was also very tasty with just the rice amount of spice. This place also offers some selections that aren't offered elsewhere since as the Jackfruit Tikka. The only thing that might put people off of this place is the price which is a bit more on the expensive side. However, I would say that for the amount you get and the quality of the food, the price is justifiable. The service was also impeccable, with waiters being very kind and patient.
