Tacconelli's Pizzeria

The ingredients they use are top notch and fresh. You can taste it in every bite. As a 1st time diner my family and I we were lucky enough to get seated quickly. I'd suggest you call and make a reservation and also bring cash. They do not take and payment. The dinning room is busy but it's understandable. You'll understand once you've started eating your food. Thank you Bernadette for taking great care of us.

Absolutely fantastic! The pizza here is some of the best I’ve ever had—perfectly crispy crust with amazing flavor. The homemade pasta is just as impressive—fresh, rich, and clearly made with care. You can tell everything is made from quality ingredients. Great atmosphere, friendly service, and authentic Italian taste all around. Highly recommend this place to anyone who loves real Italian food

Our last two visits were not like the Tacconnelli’s that it was. The pizza was too thin, very little cheese and toppings. Seemed every ingredient was cut back on that we actually left hungry. Go back to the original recipe and make Tacconelli’s great again.

Paid for delivery online, had to pick it up…. They added so much garlic powder. Wasn’t aware I have to cook it more and also cut the slices???

We had their signature pizza, half chicken. This is the best pizza I’ve had in the area. We got caesar salads as an appetizer which were also very good. We typically order our pizza for take-out but we decided to dine-in and loved the atmosphere of the restaurant. The only downside is that it’s cash only but that doesn’t affect my opinion all that much. The prices are fair. There is a big parking lot in the back and a door to enter. We were able to get a reservation for 2 people last minute. Definitely coming back soon.

I heard it was national pizza day… checked out this pizzeria in the Maple Shade area of New Jersey with the #fam and #girlfriend. Upon walking in, very nice open kitchen, fresh dough being made, smelled so good! We ordered a couple of their pasta dishes, you can tell everything was made in house, huge portions, perfect for sharing, delicious! The pizza, if you’re a fan of thin crust, oh my! The red sauce was so flavorful, perfect crisp on the crust, yum yum and yum! Bring your drinks, it’s a byob, and service was amazing! 🤤😋

I grew up eating at the Tacconelli’s in port Richmond. A few years ago my family moved closer to this one in maple shade. I’ve given it a few chances and every time I am disappointed. The pizzas look the same but they cut corners with a few things in the ingredients and all three of the styles of pizza we traditionally order are bland and very skimpy on the cheese. I wanted this place to be great but if you want the pizza to be good, Just go to the Port Richmond Tacconellis. I’m so disappointed that I’ve given this place another chance.

This was my first time having tacconellis so I can't comment on other locations or how it "used to be" We got a tomato pie and the margherita. Both pies were good ,definitely better than some of the other spots in the area

I had a great experience at Tacconelli's. I thought the thin crust pizza had great flavor and texture. Thin crust may not be for everyone but I'm a fan and it was cooked well. The pastas are also decent but I felt the pizzas are a must get. They also allow customization for the toppings. There is ample seating and parking in the back but it can get packed in the restaurant. It is a great setting for large groups. Highly recommend!

This place truly never disappoints. The pizza is consistently great! We had a margarita and their white with tomatoes. Both fantastic. The Greek salad is amazing and a staple in what we get every time we go. We also had their corn ravioli special which we wanted to lick the bowl clean (but refrained). Reminder this place is cash only and they do have a ATM on site!

Started off with a small Caesar salad, which was big enough to share. Very tasty. Our pizza was slightly over cooked as some of the pepperoni was well done. The other half had spinach which had almost no flavor. The place was busy with large parties so it did take a while to get our pizza. Our server was nice, refilled water glasses as needed. With low ceiling it made it difficult to hear one another. Strangely enough they ran out of pizza boxes for our leftovers. So they were layered on top of one another allowing the toppings, sauce and cheese to get every where - not the best way to package up leftovers.

The allure is better than the reality. I might be overstating my opinion, it's definitely not bad and it's a great experience. In house, the food is a much better experience. Friday night pizza at home thing maybe to so much.

Pizza is always amazing here but the fresh capellini with lump crab was the best dish! So much so that we forgot pictures. Hostess and waitresses are always attentive and love that they are BYOB! Make reservations when possible and remember that they are cash only.

Always the best place , always knows your name . Their pasta is amazing and salad also . O forgot to mention pizza best ever . Vince and Doris and young Vince keep up the good work .

The pizza is paper thin and delicious! The service was amazing - our server, Sophia, was so nice and personable! Giving 4 star review due to the long wait times for a table on a Thursday and it's a tad bit inconvenient that the restaurant is cash only! But truly a great spot, don't let those two factors hinder trying this local spot out!

We went for a celebratory dinner. Pizza was good which is a given since that's what they're known for. Their pasta was really good. The Calabrian chili pork ragu was excellent. Portions though were pretty small even for dinner portions? Three stars though because service was lacking. Our server was nice enough but there was an edge to her. Food was slow and two items were missing. The worst part was the forgotten food items were for the littlest ones so there was some crankiness amongst our guests that we felt badly about. The space is great though and it would be good for larger parties if service was better. We wanted to love it but my husband said he'd go back for the pasta. (No pics this time)

Excellent white pizza with tomatoes and onions along with a house salad which was also very good. Pizza came as I ordered it. Salad had red peppers, cucumber onions mushrooms and the best dressing.

Wow! I knew about the Philadelphia location, and just learned about this one. In fact, my former neighbor is in the family. I'd never been to either location until last night. There was a small celebration in a private room. Very nice décor. 16 pizzas had to be ordered (for around only 30 guests) to book the room - interesting. I LOVE pizza, but how much could you possibly eat, especially with all of the other goodies being served? Their gnocchi was fantastic, and the sauce was delicious as well. (My dad even liked it and he doesn't even fancy gnocchi). Good bread, and everything else that I tried. I'm glad I finally got here; unfortunately, I live about a half hour away, and God knows when I'll be back. (Sorry - no pic - SO much going on).

We had such a nice dinner here the other night for a friends birthday! Service was super friendly and quick, and we really appreciated the honest recommendations from our server (everything she recommended was absolutely delicious). Three of us split the gnocchi gorgonzola and a plain pie with mushrooms. We probably could have used one more dish (another pasta or a salad) since there were three of us. Pricing was also super affordable! The gnocchi were decadent, and we loved the pancetta sprinkled on top of them. The pizza was flavorful and the crust was so perfectly thin and crunchy. Will definitely be back next time I'm in the area!

Wow! Even if you flunk out of culinary school you can still make a living. Ok we tried out this place for first time. Nice ambiance so we THOUGHT this might be a good place to eat. Hoo boy were we wrong. The VERY limited menu consisted of pasta dishes and pizza only. We ordered a signature white pizza and a plain pizza and a large salad. The salad was fresh but lacked enough dressing to actually taste flavored. The pizza was charcoaled like a burnt offering to a deity. The white pizza was actually brown and tasted like charcoal. The plain pizza was more like a hot tomato pie. The ONLY saving feature was the dessert. The dark side of the moon and the tartufu were delicious. Oh yes - this place is CASH ONLY. Now I know why. After eating here you would want a refund on your credit card. If you pass by and smell burning it's just them destroying another pizza. Don't call the fire department.

If your style pizza is thin and crispy this is the place for you. I called around 6:30 and placed an order for pick up. I ordered a plain red pie and asked if they could have it ready for 7:20. The girl answering the phones was upbeat and friendly and had no issues making accommodations for me. They are cash only which I was notified over the phone when placing my order. I arrived at 7:19 to pick up my order and it came out of the oven pretty much right at 7:20. The pie looked beautiful. I thought it looked so good I sent pictures of it to a bunch of family and friends who all also thought it looked great. I wanted to look at it before I left the restaurant and I'm glad I did. It made me excited to arrive at my destination so I could eat. The sauce was a tad sweet for me but the thin and crispy texture of the crust was perfect. The price and value was extremely reasonable for the quality of the pie.

Just awful. Wait was terrible, 5 minutes to get seated, 10 minutes before waitress came to our table, 40+ minute wait for pizza. Waitress stopped by once and got our drinks but forgot straw

Rating is for the pizza only. Crust is way too thin and since they char the pie, it comes out somewhat crackly and dry. Sauce was ok. Skimpy on the cheese, Not recommended

Amazing fresh pasta made in house. I had the gnocchi and the garganelle. They each have their own unique texture and flavors. Gnocchi is fluffy and the garganelle is springy. I will definitely come back to try other fresh pastas

The food here isn't that good. Judging by the photos of others, you can see that I'm not the only one here that feels this way. The Caesar salad wasn't that good. The pizza was very sloppy and wasn't made right. Prices are reasonable and service was ok but the other things were lacking

Why haven't I ordered from here earlier? This pizza is awesome. Perfect crust, nice variety of pizza types and toppings to choose from. Can takeout or eat-in. It's easy to order online. The pick-up time was the exact time my pizza was ready. They are known for their pastas and Gelato too. I'll have to get one of each next time. Huge parking lot behind restaurant to use for dining in our taking out. Tips for online ordering: 1. Garlic is Garlic Powder. There is no fresh garlic as a topping. 2. Well Done Crust is their "normal" preparation. You can get it undercooked so you can reheat at home or more well done to your desire. They only take reservations by phone. Don't bother placing an order by phone. It'll be quicker to do it online. I'll be back for sure!

I was finally able to try this Tacconelli outpost! It's just as busy as the original so I suggest making a reservation, however you do not need to order your dough in the morning like the original. The pizza is delicious! We always order a plain pie. This one has a thin crust, slightly sweet sauce and a nice amount of cheese. It has a crunchy crust with some charring. The Margherita was also delicious. The fresh mozzarella and basil were so good. The spinach and tomato pie is a favorite! It has just the right amount of veggies and cheese. This location also has salad and dessert. We shared a salad. It had a good mixture of lettuce, tomato and cucumber. The balsamic vinaigrette was delicious. The gelato was yummy! Our waitress was so sweet! She gave us a sample of some of the gelatos so we could choose. Note: cash only It was a nice experience from beginning to end!

Hubs had been wanting to give this place a try for a while. We were really happy to find out that they have a location in NJ so we didn't have to travel to Philadelphia. We arrived right before the lunch hour rush and were immediately seated. The restaurant is large and vast, with the space seemingly going on for miles. The lighting is dim, almost in a romantic manner. Rows of lights dangle from the ceiling near the front of the restaurant and sconces adorn the rightmost wall. A long, continuous booth runs along the rightmost wall, while regular booths sit along the leftmost wall. There were regular tables with chairs sit in the center with one table being round. We ordered 2 pies: One with hot sausage and anchovies and the other one was a Margherita pie. Both pies were delicious. It was hot and the undercarriage was perfect! The pies were surprisingly quick. We enjoyed watching the owner making the pizza pies and putting it into the oven. Obviously, they perfected the technique! Almost forgot. The waitress asked us if we wanted some hots. I thought it came along with it since she asked. Nope, we got charged. Didn't matter. It was only 75 cents. The lunch crowd eventually came in and the place was busy! Service was friendly and quick. Will definitely return when in the area!

You offer "not well done", "well done" and "burnt" as options. Ordered this one not well done - it's burned to a crisp and completely dried out. The red "XCHZ" pie, ordered "well done", is completely black and barely has as much cheese as the white. Seriously, we'd have been better off with a mass produced chain or convenience store pie- at least we wouldn't risk breaking a tooth. Not even going to bother eating it. What a waste of time, effort and money. Thanks.

We had a family dinner here tonight to celebrate two birthdays. I ended up reserving the smaller party room. The room was perfect for 17 of us. Our dedicated waitress was awesome and very attentive. We had the delicious house made pastas salad and pizzas. Everything came out perfect. Everyone enjoyed their food and I was able to relax and enjoy my family. The food was beyond expectations.

Cute little Pizzeria in Maple Shade. We came on a Saturday night - which was very busy! The wait wasn't too bad, considering the crowd. It's BYOB & cash only... FYI. We ordered the white cheddar Mac & Cheese for my son. It was on the watery side, but he still ate it. When we asked for napkins, our server came back with only 2 napkins and told us "it was all she could find". That was a first for me! The pizza was just ok. The ambiance is what got the four stars for me! Not sure if I'll be back or not.

Best pizza in south jersey been coming here for about 20 years now and have never had a bad experience

I have a pretty firm stance that really good pizza is hard to come by in South Jersey. Tacconelli's is one of the few pizzerias that is an exception to this. I visited their previous Moorestown location in what feels like a million years ago. Since then, I've eaten a lot of pizza and have come to think of myself as somewhat of a connoisseur. Although, I can't fully remember all the details of my first visit, I do remember enjoying the experience and most importantly the pie. Fast forward to a decade later and I find myself ordering from here with a friend that appreciates pizza almost as much as me. We tried their red/plain pie w/pepperoni - thin crust, flavorful red sauce and mozzarella w/roni cups (the good kind curl while cooking). It was fantastic. Recently, my friends and I caught wind that Dr. Brewlittle's Beer Co. opened nearby. Needless to say, we paid the brewery a visit and ordered from Tacconelli's which is just 2 blocks away - a combination that I highly recommend. This time we did a red pie w/pepperoni along with a margarita - both were exceptionally good and didn't last very along amongst the group. Looking back at my previous review, I complained about the prices being too high but 22 year old me has since learned that you pay for what you get. Tacconelli's prices are not high but they are not cheap. They are just where they need to be for high quality pizza made with love.

I think this might actually be the worst pizza I've ever had. I'm sure others would say it's "the style", and it was takeout which could possibly be the difference, but it seemed like just dry shriveled up triangle-shaped crackers. It hurt my mouth.

Easily the best pizza I have tried in the area and their fresh made pasta is also delicious! It's a whole vibe in there, it's byob-highly recommend.

I haven't been to the Philly Tacconelli's location but recently met some friends at the newer Maple Shade location. The restaurant itself is very big and has several seating areas. We were given a table at the front of the restaurant overlooking Main Street. Our server was friendly and extremely attentive. We had no complaints as some other Yelpers had mentioned. The pizza itself was very good. We ordered two pies for four people, a regular and a formaggio white pie The Taconelli crust is thinner and crispy then most standard pizzas I have had in our area. We didn't add any toppings. I did really like the pizza but it wasn't an "oh wow" experience for me. It was very, very good but not great. For dessert, I ordered the Key Lime Cheesecake and that was excellent. It was not overly sweet and the Key Lime taste was just the right percentage. Definitely a fan of Tacconelli's but no more then that for now. 4 yelp stars

I love this place, specially for groups. The house salad is the way to go, plus pastas and the signature or the special with spicy sweet pepperoni. Bring a red and plenty of cash. YUM.

For years I've gotten pizzas from Taconelli's Usually once a week. It's a 20 minute drive from my house, but it's definitely worth it. It's a thin crust, you have to somewhat like garlic . You won't be disappointed.

After 4 years of living in Maple Shade, finally made a trip to Taconelli's on Main St. As a good judging point, I ordered the "Signature" on one half of my pizza and the other half with hot sausage and mushroom. I also ordered two of their large caesar salads - one for myself and one for the girlfriend. The pizza comes in one size, roughly 13" if I had to estimate. The pie was definitely cooked fresh, as I saw it come out of the oven when I came and picked it up. The staff was friendly and looked like they were enjoying making fresh pizzas and pasta (would like to get back in the future for a pasta dish). For the size of the pizza and two salads, I do feel the price point of $50+ was a bit unwarranted, but I wanted to let the food speak for itself before writing it off simply due to the price point. However, despite the awards and recognition all over their wall and the famous Taconelli's name, I was a bit let down. While the toppings were very flavorful, the crust lacked any real chew or body and was ultra-thin and crispy. Some may prefer this, but I like to have a little bit more body and chew to my pizza crust. Even though I usually order my pies with just slightly less cheese than standard, I felt this pie could have used a touch more. I feel like the pizza would serve better as a KILLER bar pie, as it was super light on the gut and toppings, and would be great to split over a few beers with your respective other at the bar. If I knew this was the style going in for their pizza I would have likely skipped out. The Caesar dressing was nice, though, and had a nice brightness to it with a touch of extra lemon. So all in all, despite the fame around their name, friendly staff and general hype of the establishment, I likely won't be back as I didn't feel that their style of pizza really suited my taste and was (in my opinion) overpriced.

I really wanted to give them 5 stars but I'll explain why I didn't. We have been here a few times now and love it every time. My sister even held her rehearsal dinner here last month. The wedge salad is amazing and we love the pizza. But my favorite part of this place is the gnocchi! They're so soft and fresh each time we come. The only reason they're getting 4 stars and not 5 is they got rid of their best sauce for the gnocchi-the Gorgonzola cream sauce with pieces of pancetta. We were so disappointed last night when our server told us they'd stopped serving it. Also we ordered basil on our white half of our pie that we didn't get but we let it go because we came in late with no reservation so we were thankful to have gotten to eat. Bring back that sauce and you'll get the fifth star!!

At a family gathering for the queen's birthday we ordered Caesar salad, white pizza with sausage, cheese pizza with pancetta, Margherita pizza and a side of cavatelli. Pizzas were good but they could have been cooked for a bit longer to crisp the entire crust. The service was adequate although delivered without the hint of a smile. The eatery is large, bustling and a tad noisy. Red sauce is very good.

have you ever been somewhere where you want to go back the next day because that's how good it was?!?! i almost don't want to write this raving review because i want to GATE KEEP this incredible place but they deserve it the pizza here is perfect; thin and crispy with a great cheese to other ingredient ratio. but so is the handmade pasta! i had somewhat of an idea what i wanted to order but the server made recommendations and we went with them and i'm so glad we did! we started with the caesar salad, got some pizzas and pastas to share and honestly i wish my other friends werent there so i could eat everything by myself! PASTAS - ricotta cavatelli w/ their ragu - this was INSANELY amazing. the pasta is cooked perfectly, and the sauce is so simple but so much flavor. i'm craving this as i'm writing this - gemelli w/ vodka sauce - this was delicious as well but honestly the cavatelli stole the show for me PIZZA - Margherita, Marinara w/ sausage and something with proscuitto that i can't remember but they were all incredible! but the marinara was amazing BYOB & CASH ONLY and def make a reservation if you can!

I was here for a private event, a wine tasting to be exact. Cesca Family Wines to be exact. I came directly from work and could feel myself on edge and just a nudge away from being in a really rotten mood. Everyone went out of their way to make me and the whole group of 25 feel welcomed and engaged. Once the wine started flowing woke mood disappeared and a state of calm washed over me. The owner was there welcoming us all and his son is the main chef. He also came out to address the group - very handsome young man I may add. Ok, anyway...about the food. Their homemade pasta stole the show. I do not eat meat so for me there was a gnocchi in a Gorgonzola sauce....omg so tasty. The gnocchi were so soft and fluffy. The sauce was nowhere near as heavy as some cheese sauces tend to me. They sent out several meatless pizzas, in a margarita girl so yes the classic was my favorite here. The staff was friendly and attentive, the place is clean and very busy. There were many people coming in to pick up their take out and there were several large parties dining in. Thumbs up to this place, and cheers to all of you.

What a great addition to the area. This cash only, byob, brick oven pizza place is unreal. The fresh made pizza dough, fresh made pastas are fantastic. The red sauce is one of the best around.

Our family loves Tacconelli's. The pizza is so good. We cannot rave enough about it. Every time we have been there, we have enjoyed ourselves and everything we ate. Recently, I attended a party in one of the private rooms. There were over 30 guests. Our server brought out two salads, then 15 minutes later brought out two more. Then a few minutes later, two more. Then the pasta, came out the same way, in increments. When it was time for pizza, two pizzas came to the table, then one, etc. When you have that many people, maybe all of the salads should come out at the same time, same for pasta. I get the pizza has to be scattered but with that many folks, the executing of the food coming out could be better. No one left hungry and the party was nice. The girl working the room was fantastic!

This mom and pop spot is soooo good! The service is great and our pizza we ordered was delicious! We got the margherita one with a meat, either pancetta or prosciutto and it was banging! Definitely worth a visit!! Ps it's BYOB

Pizza was great, Place is beautiful, however the waitress was a little brusk and cold. We had 11 people and a 2 year old. We felt rushed. We had to keep asking for napkins and she would bring 2... for 11 people ‍. I really wanted to like this place but was really put off by the waitress. Hopefully the other wait staff is nicer. If you like top notch pizza, this is the place on this side of the bridge. Just behave and do as you're told, and there will be no trouble, and nobody gets hurt.

I know I know, everyone has their favorite pizza spots, and everyone also fancies themselves a pizza expert based on some form of "credentials" that often center around where you reside or have past resided. I haven't been to the Philly Tacconelli's location and since there's this location in Maple Shade, I frankly don't feel the need to! This pizzeria makes a delicious pie that'll be as good as any, even in our overlooked and disrespected pizza locale that is South Jersey. The crust is crispy with a black char on the bottom, but it doesn't taste "burnt." You can taste the chunks of fresh tomato in the red sauce (I'll have to try a white pie next). The toppings are high quality, they don't recommend going with more than 3 because of how thin the crust is. I went with a red provolone pie and my mom had a red "formaggio" (a blend of mozz, provolone and Asiago I think). We both had mushrooms, she had black olives and I had sweet sausage and onions. Frankly, the provolone can't be beat! While the formaggio was good, the sharpness of the provolone really comes through. I'd consider ordering a plain red provolone, it's good enough to not need toppings! I won't say they're generous with the toppings but as you can see, it's "enough" to complement the delicious ensemble of crust, sauce and cheese. 2 pies to go were ready in 20 minutes. The damage for the 2 pies and 2 slices of cannoli cake was $53, and yes, that's cash only. You'll probably be able to eat a slice more than you normally would, this is a true thin crust. Not cheap, get dominos medium 2 topping for $5.99 if you want that. If you want quality and a pizza that'll stand up to any pizza snob joints in NYC (yes, I've waited "on line" for a few of them), then come to tacconelli's in maple shade. I'll update on the cannoli cake later I'm too full right now.

Pizza is only available in one size. I ordered a cheese pizza just to try them out. Very thin pizza. Sauce is a tad sweet. Could of used more cheese. Pizza was good just not great. Establishment has a very large dining area and it was a packed house on this Friday night. Not one empty table. Friendly staff. Cash Only.

This was my first time here and I was impressed. For starters the place is pretty big and they have their own private room which is great for parties! They do not have a big menu and honestly they do not need one. Their food is fresh and ready to order! Their pizza is unique and it's unlike your traditional pizza. This can either be a good thing or a bad thing for some people. However, for me it was a good thing! I love when pizza places change it up, and try not to be like others. The pizza that was order was their margarita pizza and it was amazing! It was sweet but not overly sweet and crispy! I would love if they did their own gluten free pizza because that would be amazing! Oh before I forget....this place is cash only so make sure you have cash before you go!

I recently ordered a take-out Friday lunch-time pizza --- the only time they have lunch hours --- from Tacconelli's. I arrived within a few minutes of the time they suggested, and was ready to apologize that I might be a bit early. Instead, the counter person, who was friendly enough, snatched my boxed pizza off an unheated side shelf, next to the oven, the first thing I thought curious. As she handed me the box, I noticed that the box was cool, not even warm; kind of odd for a "fresh" pizza. Upon getting it home, after putting it in a pre-warmed oven, it tasted okay, but I noticed the crust was not just chewy --- which I don't mind if it's fresh --- it was tough. This was day-old pizza, leftover from the night before. If I was given the choice of a discount because of that, I would've been fine, but I was, of course, charged the "fresh" price. And I left a tip! Grrr... I've ordered a number of times from Tacconelli's, but this is the last time. There's other decent pizza places around that always make it fresh.

Fake Tacconelli's. The real Tacconelli's is in Port Richmond and is way better. Go to the one in Philly and not this one. Not the same taste or quality.
