I got to say, this is definitely one of the best cocktail bars that I've been too. I always get excellent customer service and the drinks are absolutely amazing. The Saturn, Flameway Pho, Rattlesnake, old fashioned, Bubbling Over, (Vegan) Fizz, etc. it's all delicious. 100% recommend.

EDIT: A year later, I know this is the best cocktail bar in Sacramento. Alex is a talented bartender, meticulous with service, friendly, and extremely consistent--something I can't find in any other bar unless the drinks are over $15 apiece. These cocktails are creative and well-balanced every single visit. I prefer to go on on weekdays when it's chill. The entire menu is good. All hits, no misses. Even the seasonal promo drinks menu is fantastic. Extremely good cocktails. I especially liked the Bee's Knees and the Gin Fizz, which were carefully prepared. The whiskey slushie was also delicious and nicely balanced sweetness vs. freshness. Beautiful in the glass. Clean interior. Dark and moody bar. A comfortable place to hang out. Definitely coming back.

If you’re into handcrafted cocktails from both the good ol' days and now, then saddle up and giddy on up over to the Tack Room. 🐎🍸 This equestrian-themed cocktail bar takes on imbibing like it's a History Channel documentary crossed with a Taylor Swift Eras tour, dishing out hits from the 1920s, 1980s, and even the early aughts. They've got house-made concoctions that are so good, you know someone’s gonna try to copy ‘em. I kicked things off with the Flameway Pho—shiitake-infused gin, pho spice-infused aquavit, Thai basil, and lime. It was like my mouth went on an international adventure. 🌏✨ But the Bubbling Over? A favorite amongst the girls, gay, and theys—vodka, guava cream, grapefruit, lime, and sparkling wine, topped with a smoke-filled bubble just begging to be popped. 🍾✨ It’s an experience. Luckily, it’s a short walk from the gayborhood, so get ready to make this your new go-to spot. The bartender was friendly, informed, and had us sipping in style. If only everything in life was as easy as choosing the perfect drink at the Tack Room! How I break down my star reviews: 1 - No. Not if it was the last thing on DoorDash. 🗑️ 2 - Meh. Maybe if I’m desperate, close, and high. 😬 3 - Mid. Not texting the group chat about it. 🤷‍♀️ 4 - Hella solid. Planning my next visit. 😋 5 - Shut up and take my money. Om Nom Nom. 🔥

Ok. No food, but I’m gonna go with my gut and say if they have food I bet it’s delicious because the drinks 🍹 🥃 were absolutely delicious. Like there was convo involved instead of assuming how someone likes a drink. The bartender she was amazing. I don’t drink often. When I do tho it’s an Old fashioned or an Espresso martini. 🍸 was phenomenal. The Margarita and slushy were on point! I wish I got the young ladies name just to put her on a pedestal. The whole vibe was chill. Even everyone else that was in there was having a great time. We’re were locked in conversation and the bartender could tell and she was so patient. I foolishly thought she still had my cc after paying but it was in my wallet and even the reply to me embarrassing my was sweet. If you see this and it’s after 4pm don’t sleep on this spot. I’m like Arnold now! 😎

This bar came up when I was searching for a whiskey bar and it did not disappoint. They have an extensive selection of whiskey and other top notch hard liquor. Unique names for their specialty drinks. The decor lives up to the name of the bar. Saddles for bar stools. Paintings of horses. I love the wooden ceiling beams. Authentic. I enjoyed the relaxed vibe and the friendly staff. If you don’t drink, they make a tasty homemade Shirley temple. Would definitely return. I love this bar.

Tack room is one of many really chill bars in Sacramento to hang out and get fun, creative cocktails. It's on the smaller side but that doesn't detract from the experience. I went recently with a friend to see their Harry Potter themed event, so since the bar was crowded I won't comment on the service. The drinks were very good and the bartenders were great, the only thing that prevents my usual 5/5 is that the music was insaaaanely loud. I just wasn't expecting to have to scream at my friend as we were trying to catch up about our lives...and I want to emphasize this is a small bar, not a nightclub. The place itself is cool but the music definitely should be more around a noise level 4 than an 8.

The Tackroom is a quaint, dimly lit, well decorated bar in midtown. It has western decor with a Kentucky Derby Flare, and even serves drinks vintage derby cups! Not to mention, they open at noon on Saturday and Sunday which is wonderful! Sit at the bar, you will love the experience. The staff at Tackroom is absolutely top notch, and works seamlessly together to ensure patrons have a memorable experience. The Bar Manager, Obie, is the mastermind behind all of the infusions, including Cinnamon Bourbon, Guava Cream, and the house Rum blend - just to name a few. His passion for his vision is clearly supported by his outgoing conversations with patrons as he offers samples of these incredible treats while cranking out the masterpiece cocktails in record time! Another bartender, Christian, brings out the vibrant experience through explanations of the cocktail inspirations and perfectly curated libations! The staff and their product are simply phenomenal! The menu explores Signature Cocktails to include Derby themed names that do not disappoint! My personal favorite, Genuine Risk is a lovely well balanced cocktail showcasing Gin, Apple Brandy, Mint, Lemon and topped with a bitters soaked peach slice! The Catalog Through the Ages section showcases their innovative interpretation of classic cocktails from 1862 including some from the 30's, 40's and 50's! Such a fun marriage of history and modern day hand crafted cocktails! Have your heart set on something else? No problem, they will happily make you something special. Theres nothing else that needs saying-- just GO, you will not be disappointed and may even chalk it up as a new favorite spot like I did! The quality of the cocktails, the energy of the staff, and the overall vibe are fire!

I feel like the Sacramento food and bar scene has definitely been stepping up it's game and getting better year after year and I will gladly put Tack Room on the list of hot and upcoming bars. Seeing the videos all around social media with what looks like these well crafted cocktails, I was definitely intrigued. Located right next to Goldfields it's tucked in the corner and it was really dark so it looks like nothing is there (which we passed by a couple of times) but you'll see the bright green neon sign that says Tack Room right above the entrance. I was greeted by one of the friendliest bartenders (I think his name was Bry). He was very knowledgeable and went through the menu with us. I ended up getting a Bees Knees at first and it was very light refreshing! It also came in a cute Flamingo glass. I ended up ordering up a couple more drinks and they were all delicious! I will be back to try the rest of their cocktails. They have a Kentucky derby theme going on. There were a couple of TVs with jockey races that were from the early 2000s. They even had the 2000s commercials playing. Plenty of seating at the bar and tables . It kind of gave a speakeasy vibe and it's somewhere I can see myself coming in and hanging out with my friends. They also had a door that leads straight into Goldfields so if you're not ready to go home they got options! A perfect welcome addition to Midtown. Great atmosphere, service and well crafted cocktails. I'll definitely be back and I hope to see this business flourish!

We decided to check this out on a Saturday night based on Yelp recommendations. The location is tucked between Goldfield and Sacrament Brewing- I can't believe how many times we have passed by without noticing it! A small green neon "tack room" sign was the only identifier on a space that otherwise looks like a random office. The interior of the bar fully leans into the equestrian/derby theme, very fun and unique. Space was also very clean. The bartender was super friendly and welcoming, and made some of the best cocktails I've ever had in Sacramento. Some of the drinks that we got: - Flameaway pho: featured shiitake infused gin and aquavit flavored with pho spices. The pho spice scents were very fragrant and actually complemented this drink so well! Highly recommend. - Vegan fizz: gin based cocktail with coconut, very refreshing and tropical, also highly recommend - Bee's knees: a classic gin cocktail with just the right amount of honey for a little sweetness. Would definitely recommend Tack Room for cocktails!

Drinks here are both cute & tasty. Different options both times I have been here since they have a rotating menu of specialties which keeps it interesting. I love the equestrian theme and the furniture is very comfortable.

Came on a Tuesday night at around 8 pm when it was still quiet. The crowd came in around 10 pm, but it was enough time for me to have a nice chat with Drew! The vibes at this bar are just so cozy and homey. Drinks are delicious and there is plenty of booth and table seating lining the back of the bar. I'm definitely coming back!

Came again with the hubby and once again enjoyed our drinks and the chill vibe. This place will likely become a go-to spot for us in Sac.

Finally checked the Tack Room off my list! After visiting San Luis Obispo, some random man we met at a brewery couldn't stop RAVING about the Tack Room, and I couldn't believe I had never been! This bar is something else! The interior is so unique (Derby themed) and the drinks are amazing! I opted for the Bubbling Over (with a very aesthetic bubble on top) and this might be the best drink I've ever had. It was sweet, tart, effervescent... everything I could've hoped for in my perfect drink! The husband got the Foolish Pleasure tequila drink and that was equally as good (and I don't even like tequila!). Neither were on the HH menu but they had a decent HH selection to choose from. Our second drink was the boozie slushie (HH) and it was apple pie flavored. We liked it! The bartender was also hustling as they were the only one there at that time. Great service and super friendly. Overall, we can't wait to bring some friends back! It's a cool place with great drinks and good service. What more could you ask for??

Beautiful hidden bar that looks like an office entrance from the outside. Love all the lounge seats, and huge bar area go sit and chill. The bathroom Was very clean. Drinks were delicious. Our Bartender Vincent was awesome at explaining the drinks and very accommodating with our request. The drinks he made was delicious and perfectly cold. Definitely a great spot for date night or just to chill with some friends.

Great cocktails! Vibe was a little confusing because it's a horse themed bar but the tvs were playing the news and Dumb and Dumber. They kept the lights super dim which was fine. I would have their drinks again because they were creative and tasted good. I did wish they have better options for seating a large group, but we made do! The bathroom was clean, so that's a plus.

Loved this little bar/lounge. The bartender was amazing! I ordered the drink with the little bubble on top and when it popped, smoke came out. Such a vibe. The decor is masculine and they had fresh flowers all around. Bathroom has one stall, but was very clean and well maintained. I came here before the rush on a late afternoon on a Saturday. People started trickling in around 6:00pm. It is a bit hidden, but it is right next to Goldfields. Sometimes they would open the door that connects to Goldfields, which is awesome. I would definitely come back and drop by before heading to a concert or wherever in downtown.

First time coming to tack room was on my birthday! It's a nice bar on j street. It was extremely dark inside.. and the bar was very busy. Took over 20 minutes to get a drink in the beginning. I got one drink that tasted worse than cough syrup. When I told the bartender I hated it very nicely he made something much better for me. I appreciate that great customer service. The bar theme is horses and it's a cute spot. My biggest complaint would be the lighting and maybe not enough people working?

Tack Room probably has some of the best tasting drinks I've ever had. I came here due to a work social event and I'm so happy they found this place! It's a little hole in the wall but the deco inside is fun and the drinks are truly delicious!

A great place to meet up friends or a date for drinks or cocktails. I've been here a few times and had nothing but a pleasant experience on all occasions. There are plenty of seatings in a more intimate table setting or along the wall in front of the bar. Dim and intimate setting. A great variety of drinks! Check out what cocktails I ordered! Chris was incredible! He knew his cocktails and whipped up drinks on the fly based off what we liked. He had a passion for where he worked and bragged about the company as well! Would trust him to make any drink knowing that I would like it! Will come back again for sure!! The bar was clean and the tiles were so pretty! Tons of alcohol selections!

Chris, the bartender, was dope. Great selection of whiskeys and tequila. Came for a drink and had way more than just one. Soda water made right in front of us, okayy!! Cant wait to come back and try more drinks here!

The ambiance & services was excellent the drink menu is well rounded with classics, fun new concepts & they can make anything to order. This is truly a place that loves craft cocktails they definitely put their heart into what they do.

Met up with some girlfriends here on a Friday night! Of course, it was very busy but since many folks were in and out, it wasn't hard to snag some seats. There were about 10 of us total. The seating arrangements looked like it was meant for couples/pairs, but you can definitely grab a larger sized table towards the back of the establishment. I had one drink which was the "western sour", it was the right amount of alcohol for a cocktail - noticeable but not too strong! Intimate setting, and fun at the same time. Bartenders were friendly and abundant in quantity but could probably be a little more attentive. I'd probably come back on a less busy day!

Favorite bar in Sac! I prefer light cocktails and every cocktail I've ordered here has been really good and well mixed. The bartenders know what they're doing! I hate getting cocktails that are either overpowering in flavor/syrup or ones where you only taste the alcohol. Here you get quality cocktails that are crafted to perfection. I've never had a bad cocktail. I also love the dim lighting and music they play here. It's definitely a hole in the wall find!

Great drinks! This bar is casual with a great "chill" vibe. Service is great! During our last visit, the bartender came over to ask how we liked our drinks. I highly recommend this visit worthy bar.

The spot for sure, a home run on these cocktails! Attentive staff that shows their mixology talent for perfection and memorable drinks. This is definitely a spot to bring your besties and hang out a while.

I really want to like Tack Room but every time I visit - which is at night, the interior lighting is just too dim for me, especially when you first walk in from the street...it's like whoa and my eyes need to adjust to the darkness. There isn't enough seating area for the amount of customers they have. Maybe set up an outdoor area either in the back or front with heaters? Other than this, Tack makes some cute fru-fru drinks worthy of the social media posts. Nice, creative drink menu but if your don't see something that tickles your fancy, just let the bartenders know and they can make you something you like.

I was blown away with Tack Room, from the dedication to the derby theme, the drinks and the amazing customer service. Inside is a little narrow, but they managed to provide ample seating. It's also pretty dark inside, but no biggie. They had music playing as well as Final Destination playing on the TV. I didn't use the restroom but my husband said they only have one bathroom and the line was pretty long. We arrived around 9pm on a Saturday and was able to snag 2 seats at the bar, which I prefer because I enjoy watching the bartenders. They had lots of drink menus displayed out on the bar top, the menu contains their specialty drinks, which they have quite a few of. I opted for the Voodoo Grog, made with a house blend of rum and nutmeg dram and some other stuff that sounded yummy lol. And it was just that, very yummy! I also enjoyed a Bees Knees. There were a few other drinks I was eyeing but decided it best to stop at 2. Price wise, they can be little pricey (the voodoo grog was $17) but they are specialty crafted cocktails, so it was expected. Customer service was exceptional. The bartender acknowledged every patron that came up to the bar. He'd inform them he sees them and he was X amount of drinks to make first then he'll come back to get their order. I thought this was awesome, to be made aware you've been seen versus most places where your standing there waving them down in hopes you get noticed. And as mentioned, I love watching them make the drinks. Each one looked so complex and beautiful. And some of the bartenders even did a little flare with the mixing tins. Good show! Overall, Tack Room was a great experience and I'm for coming back.

Went out with the girls to wind down after a heavy week! The drinks were yummy and there were so many good options to choose from! Also loved the bartenders and how accommodating they were.

Chris, Sophie, and Alex are wonderful. Really loved every single drink I had. Chris is super personable and was able to read my taste in cocktails pretty well. The vibe overall is super chill and I am definitely coming back.

This place was on my list I know it just opened a few months ago . So glad we stopped here . The ambiance is dim lights, pretty intimate and small. They have saddle horse seats to seat at by the bar very cool horse theme everywhere . The drinks are amazing I can tell they take pride on their drinks and the ingredients they use . Now that is a craft cocktail! We ordered a few drinks all of them were delicious I love Gin drinks so I had to try a few . They have a smoky old fashion that looked very cool I had to take a picture of it . My hubby and I at the end of the night we shared the Winning Colors which comes with a Air Bubble not sure the proper way to say it but it was cool looking and very good . You just can't go wrong with any of the drinks the Bees Knees and Saturn were super good also Gin Fizz comes with an egg white also very good ! Everyone was super friendly and very knowledgeable with making a craft cocktail. I will definitely be coming back here to have an other great drink . My friends and hubby really enjoyed it we can't wait to be back .

Just visited Tack Room for the first time and it was such a great bar for a night out! We loved our cocktails and the bartender was quick to get us our drinks. It's a very cute bar with a theme that's super unique. Definitely will be back!

The bar has a unique equestrian theme. We came in on a weekday afternoon and got the VIP experience. The bartender was welcoming and was super helpful. The drinks were amazing! Well balanced and strong! Pricing is reasonable ($13-$16). Good cocktail bars are pretty sparse in the area so I'm happy to be able to add a new one to the list!

Clean, good entertainment, solid alcohol selection. The chairs at the front tables are comfortable but a little short. The drinks were delicious

We went here after the Kings game with a friend in town from the Bay Area and we were so impressed. What a hidden gem. The place is high-end Kentucky Derby themed and the drinks are unusual and beautifully presented. Try the Espresso Martini, made by Vince. Great ambience, not too dark, not too loud.

Such a cool bar in midtown! The music was dope, chill dance vibes, the derby decor is unique and interesting, plenty of seating, and overall was a good time! I was DD for the night so I didn't drink, but the menu looked amazing and had lots of variety. Service was good and quick, staff was friendly! Will definitely be back!

Stopping by tack after a long night night from work. Stumbled on two bartender on a Wednesdays night. Very on conversational, fun, funny, and polite to talk. Cheers to them.

We came in on a Sunday afternoon and it was perfect timing. They started picking up while we were there. The bartenders were amazing. Super friendly and answered all of our questions. The drinks were delish. We ordered the first round by choice and then had a surprise for the second set. Loved every drink we got. Highly recommend for a downtown stop.

Went early after they opened and every drink. They made a ton of their own bar syrups, a ton of really advanced cocktails with subtle freshly grated flavors like cinnamon and nutmeg. Would definitely go back and would love to try as many as possible. Also cool bartenders who are super knowledgeable and friendly.

I used to enjoy coming to this bar, but unfortunately, the quality has really gone downhill. The bartenders seemed inexperienced and unsure of what they were doing, which made for a frustrating experience. The ambiance is terrible - the bar looks run down, and the overall vibe is just not inviting anymore. It honestly feels like there's no attention being given to the space or the service. The bar manager and staff need to be replaced if this place is going to get back to its former quality. I won't be returning until there are some serious changes made. Incredibly disappointing as it was one of my top 3 favorite bars.

It's a cute, casual bar with soft music. Has a cozy lounge area, bar seating and a few 2 people tables. The decor is all from horse racing and riding days. The bartender was social and kind. We had a few cocktails before the Matt Riffe show. We will def. Go back before the next show!
