Phoenix’s Best Mexican Restaurants | Eater Phoenix

"What started as a humble carne asada stand run by father-and-son duo Juan Cornejo and Juan Cornejo Jr. outside Mr. Lee’s Liquor on 35th Avenue and Broadway has grown into one of Phoenix’s most recognizable taquería chains. Taco Boys now operates six locations across the Valley, each one managing to hold onto the same rowdy, mesquite-smoked energy that made the original a hit. The specialty here is Sonoran-style grilling — slabs of beef hit the open flame, get a generous salting, and are chopped to order for tacos, burritos, and vampiros. Carne asada is the staple, but don’t skip the crispy tripas, tender cabeza, or the house beans, which are creamy and smoky. The setup is quick and no-nonsense: graffitied walls, loud Norteño music, and a self-serve salsa bar stocked with smoky reds, tangy verdes, pickled vegetables, and charred chiles. It always feels like someone’s backyard cookout — fast, flavorful, and full of life. Bonus: some locations have full bars serving over-the-top Micheladas and other cocktails that are worth ordering." - McConnell Quinn

Some of the best tacos in town! Tacos meats were tasty and tender, we had the asada, pastor, & chicken. Tortillas were soft and did not stick together. The salsa bar was visually appealing, neat, & tidy with plenty of very fresh ingredients. Service was pleasant & efficient. A few paper napkins were scattered on the floor, I wish they could have swept those up but it was during the lunch rush. Restrooms were clean. Be prepared for loud music! Nice vibe. Overall a 5 star meal!

Last time we went there was a wire from the grill in my husbands taco. We decided to try it again and I ordered a bean and cheese burrito there was barely any beans and the tortilla was burnt. Tacos were not that great either there was a lot of fat in the meat this time. We paid $50 for wack food and the beer was hot too.

This restaurant is a local fast food type restaurant. Essentially the staple here are street tacos which about 4 inch diameter tortillas with a scoop of meat added. There is a good selection meats including chicken, pork and beef with varying seasonings & preparation styles such as shredded or diced. Once you pay then you can add garnish at a kiosk such as a few sauces, pico, & diced onions. It is a very basic street tacos but resembles the traditional taco served by street vendors. The flavor was good. This location is very popular with ASU students and packed during the evenings.

They asked me if I wanted my shells fried hard which is something I never HEARD or presented to them. I figured it was something fancy and said I will take to fried hard and what do I have 2 burned shells. Waste of $ but meat is delicious. Idk why they did this to me

Google
Honestly this was the most authentic tacos I've had in the States. I was a bit apprehensive about the salsa bar, but it was clean and had a variety of delicious toppings to add to our tacos. The vibes here were so dope. We ended coming back the next day!

Google
This is def the worse experience I’ve had at taco boys. I ordered a quesadilla and the Plato’s through door dash when my dasher handed everything to me it was all spilled and then I sat my food on the counter and went to open it, before even opening it something smelled burnt I took a picture and then took a bite all I was getting was burnttttt from taco to quesadillas my thing is if I can smell it being burt so can the cooks. I work around food and I wound never serve anyone anything burnt. I’m just really disappointed especially since I called the store and they told me to call door dash instead like huhhhhhh

Sarah Ramos

Google
Bad experience with this store! Ordered through Door Dash and when we received our food we had missing items. Sadly we had to eat tacos without salsas and didn’t receive the bean place we paid for. Tried calling to store to give feed back and they won’t answer. Store owners/Managers please have your team members double check orders to ensure customers get what they pay for! Unfortunately for us the food was not that great.

Google
Taco boys I love yall, but the size difference between the small quesadilla and the large is insane. There's no way you can justify charging $7 for this. It's a quesataco essentially. Now the large quesadilla on the other hand is an AMAZING portion size for $11. You need to make the small HALF the size of the large.

Yelp
This is the best spot for a delicious and affordable taco Tuesday! The insides are not ideal to accommodate rushes, especially if you're there during peak lunch hours. We came at noon on a Tuesday and it was SO busy. Hardly anywhere to stand & look at the menu, nowhere to stand and wait for your food. Things are far less hectic once lunch dies down. I ordered the 4/$11 taco Tuesday special. 4 tacos (any meats and any tortillas) + 1 medium drink for $11! I was so surprised by the amount of meat they put on each taco. They were loaded! I also paid about $4 for the container of chips, and grabbed salsa at their complimentary salsa bar. They had cabbage, cilantro + onion mix, pico de gallo, cucumbers, pickled onion, green salsa and spicy red salsa, guacamole sauce, limes, and probably more that I'm forgetting! It was stocked to the brim with enough plastic containers to go around. My only complaint is that they lost my ticket. My friends got their food (I ordered literally at the exact same time as them, BEFORE one of them actually) and we all got the 4/11. I waited about ~10 minutes longer than they did because we discovered they lost my ticket & order somehow. They slap the tickets up in a conveyer line, but I did see some on the ground. Not sure how to prevent that from happening again. The workers were super kind and friendly, and quick on their feet! I 100% would come back here for another taco Tuesday deal, just maybe around 2pm this time to avoid the rush!

Yelp
The service is order at the counter and then they call you when the food is ready. The music was so loud I had the ask the cashier guy to repeat what he said several times. He also got the order partially wrong. I asked for five pastor tacos on corn and one asada on flour and the asada fajita style. I got three pastor tacos fajita style and one asada plain. Sadly I asked about my other pastor taco that was missing and he said he did not charge me for it and I order another before tasting the ones I had. While the pastor looked really good even though it was not of the spit it had very little flavor to it. Sadly pastor is my favorite and I would not get it there again. The asada was on the other hand very flavorful and tasty. Probably because it's mesquite grilled. I would go back for that but I probably wouldn't drive 10 miles again to get them since there are closer taco shops with good asada and better pastor. They have a very large selection of beers on tap in their "tap room " and the taps take up a whole wall. Also the parking situation is a hassle because they share the lot with several other restaurants and a Dutch Bros. My wrap up. Good, not great. Go for the asada and beer. Get a ride and don't drink and drive.

Yelp
First time at this location. It's small and parking can be tough. We purchased the special and it's enough food for one. As usual Taco Boys do a wonderful job on their flavoring. The staff are moving. When they call your name, they're ready for you. It's somewhat noisy and busy. But the food is great.

Yelp
Taco Boys never fails! This is my first time in the Tempe location and it was just as good as downtown and Dunlap location. The Carne Asada always tastes so good from the charcoal that it's cooked on. The Cabeza quesadilla was delicious as well. The meat was so tender and full of flavor. The pastor is always really good at Taco Boys. The bean and cheese burrito is definitely a must. The beans have a nice spice to them in the burrito is filled with cheese. I like to get a Carne Asada and Tripa mixed burrito always so good and full flavor. We always leave taco boys and wanna come back. The guy at the front are nice and the food comes out quick. They also have great music playing, but at times can be a little loud. But me being Mexican I don't mind!

Yelp
Taco Boys is one of my favorite taco spots in the valley. All the locations are great! I've been to this location many times! It does get busy in the evenings but it is well worth the wait! Today we came for lunch and there was plenty of seating available. They also have outdoor seating at this location. Parking is hit or miss at this location as it can get very busy and be difficult to find a spot. The service is always fast and friendly. I like to get the small quesadillas. The Cabeza and Pastor are my favorite! Excellent flavor and seasoned perfectly. If you're looking for some authentic tacos, this is a great place to come!

Yelp
I'm traveling for work from KY. This restaurant didn't disappoint. The tacos were fire. Great atmosphere as well. Service was quick too. Would highly recommend if you're looking for an authentic setting and tacos. I travel quite a bit out west for work but this place is going to be on my favorite list when I come back.

Yelp
My fiance has been raving about Taco Boys since he stumbled across it during a work trip last year. So when we were in town for his birthday we decided to have lunch so I could try it out. It's located amongst other businesses in the Tempe core, unfortunately parking is all paid but there are a lot of lots and street parking to choose from. They offer indoor and patio seating, including seating at the bar outside, which is what we opted for as it was a nice day. You order inside and the food is up within a minute. My big problem with Taco Boys is they don't offer any seafood or vegetarian options, everything is meat based. I'm pescatarian but I decided to try the pollo as my fiance was raving about it and there were no other options. He ordered two pollo and two al pastor. The tacos come out with just the meat on either flour or corn tortillas. However, they have a bar with salsas, pico, onions, limes, lettuce and other toppings you can add to your taco, which I really appreciated. I loaded my taco up with lots of the salsa and fresh ingredients from the bar, so honestly one taco filled me up. The chicken had a good, grilled flavor and the tortillas appeared to be homemade (not sure). I can definitely see why this is a popular spot for carnivores, but I think they are isolating a big population of potential customers by only offering meat options.

Yelp
A friend and I were in search of a quick bite before an event and decided to try Taco Boys. It did not disappoint! The staff was very friendly and offered excellent recommendations. I really wanted to try their tacos, but since they don't offer seafood options, I opted for a veggie quesadilla instead. My friend went with the asada and pastor quesadilla as recommended by the staff. Our orders were ready in under ten minutes! This gave me just enough time to use the restroom and grab a few containers of salsas and toppings. We attempted to enjoy our quesadillas in the car--keyword: attempted. They were much bigger than we expected and were generously filled with ingredients! My veggie quesadilla was very tasty, and my friend thoroughly enjoyed hers as well. Taco Boys is a great option for quick, affordable, and tasty Mexican food!

Yelp
Came here for a quick dinner. I got four tacos ($4 ea) one of the following: carne asada, pastor, barbacoa, and carnitas. It was made in about two minutes. They were very barebones with just it being a tortilla and meat. They did have a side with a bunch of salsa which did add a much needed flavor and moisture to the tacos. I did enjoy carne asada and barbacoa the most between the ones I got. Overall it's a quick and easy place to get tacos.

Yelp
Pro-tip: The portions of meat are huge here and they have a self-service bar for toppings! It's a pretty loud and smoky ambience so keep that in mind. Highlights: The meats are really good, and I love their toppings bar because of the self-service aspect and the large variety of items to get. I think the best meats are the Carne Asada and the lingua. Lowlights: It's really loud with the music, super smoky, and they keep the doors open so it lets some flies, which is bothersome. Skip the Al pastor - it's dry and tough.

Yelp
Loud music good carne tacos! Walk in order right at the front counter wait briefly before they call you up then they have the salsa bar and toppings if you want any extras. Love the open fountain drinks. Place was kept pretty clean as well always a plus! :)

Yelp
I used to like taco boys, but the combination of over salting the meat and using stale unloved tortillas made me regret having lunch here on Thursday May 15, 2025.

Yelp
More like a 3.5 but it cannot be a 4 star rating. Went there on a Saturday night around 7:30pm. It was very busy we barely were able to find a table. We ordered at the register; they call out your name when the food is ready. Our order was barbacoa tacos, carne asada tacos and carne asada fries as well as 1 Jamaica. We also ordered a side of fajita veggies for both orders. Tacos came without any toppings but all the toppings are available for you to add on your own. They had lots of fresh veggies and salsas to add which was great. We added the toppings we wanted. So the good and the bad. Flavors are on point but the meat was so tough! Both the barbacoa and carne asada meats were so chewy, we were struggling with them, especially the barbacoa. It was a shame though because the barbacoa is supposed to melt in your mouth. Although I didn't specify the size for my drink because I wasn't asked, their default seemed to have been their jumbo size. I won't complain only because the Jamaica was so good and refreshing but I would have liked a smaller one. The place is clean overall with very loud (good) music, so don't go there if you wanna have a conversation. Also, it can get a little smokey so if you plan on going somewhere after and you don't wanna smell like smoked meat when you leave, this place is not for you. Prices are a tiny bit high. The carne asada fries although huge is over $10. Tacos are $3.49 each, and they are street tacos so if you are super hungry, dinner is gonna get a little pricey. I am planning on giving the place another chance and I would still recommend it. Since the flavors were so good and they are very busy, it might have been an off night with the meats.

Yelp
"Tacos are like what the voices of a hundred angels singing Bob Dylan while sitting on rainbows and playing banjos would taste like if that sound were edible." ― Isabel Quintero It's a hot grill summer! I've been wanting to try Taco Boys for a minute now. Waiting for ASU to be on summer break was tough, but the area would usually be busy, so the wait was worth it! Although it was warm inside, it didn't distract us from the noms. We ordered a little bit of everything and you betcha we had leftovers. We got the carne asada burrito, a cabeza vampiro, carne asada taco, taco al pastor, cabeza taco, tripas taco, a barbacoa quesadilla, and since it was Sunday, a michelada to wash it all down. If I hadn't just gotten back from Mexicali, this would have hit the spot. But with carne asada and al pastor still being fresh on my mind and taste buds, it missed the mark just so slightly. This place doesn't put pineapple on the al pastor, which makes me sad, but the surprise winner for me was the tripas. It was fatty, flavorful, and oh so good! This place is great. The salsa bar is well-stocked, the staff is super friendly, and the micheladas are proper. ¡Salud!

Yelp
Honestly, some of the best-tasting tacos I've had. They use a special type of charcoal, which gives it a nice smoky flavor. The chicken taco was really good, and I liked the pickled onions, cucumbers, and green salsa. The staff is really friendly, there's plenty of seating, and the music is great! I couldn't believe I was having tacos at 10 a.m.!

Yelp
After our group went bowling and hit up Alchemy 48, we were hungry! Considering it was now 12am, there weren't a ton of options open we wanted....but I'm super glad Taco Boys were! It's within walking distance from the ASU campus and when we arrived it was still kinda busy but the service is quick. After ordering our food was ready within a couple minutes. I got a bean & cheese burrito and a cabeza taco. The burrito was HUGE and the cheese and bean consistency was perfect! The flour tortilla was perfect...this might make my top 10 favs. The cabeza taco was great as well! On a scale of 1 - 10.....100% I'll hit it again! My friend gave me a bite of their carne asada quesadilla and it was amazing....I'll go back for that and I want to try the other tacos.

Yelp
Came here after a late night out, this place is very bright inside. You order and pay and they call your number when the food is ready. Love the salsa bar and all the unlimited veggies, it's just located in an awkward spot right next to the restrooms. Their meats are flamed grilled so you get that nice char taste and probably in the healthier side. Compared to other taco shops I gotta say that the cost is pretty reasonable for the quality & taste of their food. Definitely will be back for more at their other locations as it's a pretty far drive from where I live.

Yelp
Why not go for tacos in Tempe Arizona? After all, it is taco Tuesday! Tried out this new swanky taco place that isn't far from campus. Got there just after noon time and the place was packed. This is very popular with the college crowd, but pay no mind to that, the food is pretty darn good. Had a super helpful person direct us on what we should try. Since he reminded us it's taco Tuesday we of course went with the tacos. We each got four tacos. Each taco had a different protein. They were pork, beef, fish, and chicken. I was a big fan of the spicy pork and the beef. The other two are fine, but those two stood out. The tacos aren't particularly large so getting four of them wasn't like you were stuffing yourself. While waiting for your food, they give you a tray to go in back and select your toppings. They've got a huge array of toppings. The tacos come on a soft shell. Some people prefer a hard shell, others a soft. I'll lean a bit hard. Good food. Lively atmosphere. Worth the trek over.
google avatar

Sophie K.

Yelp
I love taco boys! It's fast, food is delicious, and the price is reasonable. This location is always crowded, but you get your food fast. And there are plenty of seats inside and outside. Their salsa bar is loaded with different salsa, onions, cucumber, pickled onions, and etc, it's so fun filling up my own salsa plate. Had their carne asada tacos, with grilled onions and jalapenos. The meat is cooked so well, seasoned well, what can I add more to freshly grilled beef! And I'm a huge fan of grilled veggies, so grilled onions and jalapeno? They're perfect! And if you like meat just like me, and can eat three tacos, ordering a plate is better, they give you more meat with bean and several tortillas!
google avatar

Amanda C.

Yelp
Ordered a family pack to go on a Saturday late morning for lunch. Friendly and quick service. Salad bar is self serve - grab a box or two and fill with as many taco toppings and sauces as you'd like! For the family pack you get 1lb of meat and 15 tortillas. You can choose corn or flour or split it. We split our meat 50/50 and got half chicken and half beef. Husband also got a cabeza quesadilla to try. All meats were quite flavorful and tender. Wished there were more tortillas - I think 20 would be adequate for the amount of meat. Overall good value and would return!

Cameron K.

Yelp
I've only been to Taco Boy's once, so it's hard to describe the full vibe from just one visit -- but honestly, I enjoyed it. The food was solid, the drink hit the spot, and everything came out quick and fresh. Nothing mind-blowing, but definitely a place I'd come back to and try more of the menu. Rating: 4/5
google avatar

Miranda M.

Yelp
Taco Boys serves up some delicious meals if you're a meat eater! Unfortunately for the vegetarians of the world, their veggie options are slim and leave something to be desired. The veggie choices are quesadillas, veggie burrito (fajita veggies), and bean & cheese burrito. The carne asada and pastor are tasty, and I really like their salsa selection. The burritos are large and filling, with a generous serving of accoutrements like limes, pico de gallo, and pickled onions upon request.
google avatar

Yelp
This place is awesome. Came here with my friend who had this place highly recommended to him, and it didn't disappoint. Everything we had tasted great. I especially loved and appreciated the salsa and fixings bar. The location is super convenient right on ASU's campus. I'd be hitting this place up constantly if I was a student!
google avatar

Daniel A.

Yelp
So consistently good. And it's the mesquite wood cooked meat that's the star but it's accompanied by some excellent tortillas, beans and a superb fresh salsa bar. My favorite taco chain in Arizona by far. The agua frescas pair perfectly with your tacos.
google avatar

Kristie N.

Yelp
Was hesitant to come considering I come from California and can get authentic Mexican tacos anywhere, but glad I did give this place a try. The team were really down to earth and kind. They give you a little plate to grab your sauces/sides at the bar. Overall great ambiance and the tacos weren't bad either!

Yelp
Taco Boys delivered! A friend and I were in the need of a quick bite and had heard great things about Taco Boys. This location is located right next to ASU campus and in the thick of the college town. They do have a parking lot and on a Tuesday afternoon, we had no trouble getting a spot. I didn't get to access the whole menu and we did opt for take out as we were in a hurry. We went for a quesadilla option, hoping for something relatively handheld and manageable for on the go. This was definitely an oversight on our part, thought it was handheld, it was packed so full of cheese and meat that it was anything but easy to eat' honestly, I wasn't mad and that's exactly how I want my food! They have a great salsa bar with multiple options of red and green salsas, pickled veggies and all the goods you could want. It was delicious. I went with the asada AND pastor, as it was recommended as the favorite by the employee. They most definitely did not skimp. It definitely hit the mark, I had plenty for leftovers, was cheesy and delicious! I loved all the salsas but the greens were stand out for me. I definitely will return and check out some of their other offerings!

Yelp
Great location love that they're open late was out on a Friday night feeling hungry saw taco Bros so glad I stopped in even though it was later closer to closing time the staff was very friendly and accommodating. Our food was extremely fresh. We got both chicken as well as the Carne Asada and everything was amazing. Looking forward to returning & trying out more menu items

Ciera R.

Yelp
Sooo, was going to show Taco Boys to some out of state family after a night out. Called to make sure of the time they closed since Apple and Google say different things, and got told 7am.. weird. Had another member of the group call and ask what time they closed, they said 5 am. A 3rd member of the group called and they said 12am..... bro. We were gonna make an almost 30 min drive just for tacos, and now I never want to go back after being treated weird. Make it make sense.
google avatar

Selena Y.

Yelp
Fast-casual street taco spot with a self-serve salsa and toppings station. I tried the asada, pastor, and tripa tacos with corn tortillas, and all of them tasted fresh and authentic. Would recommend all of them. My horchata came out in a huge cup and was very sweet; it's definitely too much for one person but good for sharing or for saving for later. Service was quick. This location is close to ASU, so we noticed this was also a popular spot amongst college students.

Yelp
We got tacos and burros. The barbacoa and asada were our favorites. We had almost no wait time and staff was friendly.

Yelp
We have been wanting to try Taco boys and we had family here from out of town so we figured what better time to try it! Its location is across from ASU, and the little plaza it's in is cute and up to date! Instantly when you park you can hear the music blasting, fun atmosphere and packed!! It was so full in there at lunch time! The first thing I noticed was the salsa bar where you serve your self, they had about 4 different salsas to choose from, cucumbers, cabbage, lime and pickled purple onions! Delicious!! The wall art was fitting considering they are across the street from ASU they show their support and love! The men working there move quickly to get all the food out in a great amount of time, and everything looked great when it came out. We ordered the Asada Quesadilla and unfortunately it had no flavor on the meat, and the cheese was far from melted.. I guess them moving so quickly back there they didn't take them time to make sure the stuff is properly cooked, I mean cheese takes no time to melt so that was disappointing. They ordered Cabeza Tacos that were better than the quesadilla. Unfortunately we will not be going back. First and last time. The simplest thing to cook and it was not fine properly.. the bland flavor of the meat and the unmelted cheese were not a hit with us.

Yelp
Location - Near the ASU campus. Plenty of parking in the lot. Atmosphere - the radio was a little loud but bearable. They have plenty of seating from low chairs to high chairs. Food - the meats had plenty of flavor. The barbacoa was my favorite for taste and quality. There is a separate bar to get your salsa and veggies for the tacos so you can get as much or as little as needed. The Salas are a little on the hotter side for even the mild but they are great.
google avatar

Carlos O.

Yelp
The food is great and the service is good! They are fast and easy. Also, for some reason I always get seat when I go.

Yelp
Everything was yummy, the place is super clean and fresh. I enjoyed the variety of salsas, the cashier was friendly and approachable. Great addition to the ASU area!

Yelp
F#%!ING Delicious. The carne meat is so tender, it literally silks into flavors as you chew. The horchata is nice and creamy! Not watery Thank you! :D

Yelp
Was craving Mexican food when we were in the area for the weekend and saw this place pop up on Yelp. Then I saw it had a sauce bar, so I immediately went there! The inside is a bit small, it's right across the street from the ASU campus too. We ordered a (1) quesadilla and (2) a burro. The quesadilla (1) absolute fire. So much cheese and meat, the quantity was great. Probably enough for 2 to share. We got the carne asada for the meat, and it was delicious. The burro (2) actually surprised us, we thought we ordered a burrito, but after looking at the menu again, it said burro. Burro does not include rice, so it was literally meat wrapped in a tortilla, not my favorite as I usually enjoy the rice, beans, and other ingredients in a traditional burrito. Oh well, guess that's what you get when you don't read properly lol. The thing we enjoyed the most was the sauce bar! So many different options to choose from. They also had some raw and pickled veggies to complement your meal. Sauce bars are probably my favorite thing about taquerias, so I was really happy with the offerings here.

Yelp
Go! Seriously, if you're scrolling reviews and trying to decide where to go for tacos, stop now and go to Taco Boys. The tacos are amazing! My favorite is the barbacoa vampiro and my boyfriend loves the pastor and the tripa. Fun atmosphere and great food! Go try it!

Yelp
Came to taco boys on Mill for lunch during the work week. My coworkers and I loved it so much. We came back twice in a row. The food came out super quick as everything is fresh and made in front of you. The salsa bar is easily accessible, right when you walk in. Lots of seating outside, and a few high tops inside as well as a bar. Tacos were easily a 10 out of 10 and everything was very fairly priced and delicious. Everyone inside is super nice and helpful.

Yelp
I've driven past several times and this place is usually lit at night but I finally decided to stop by and glad I did. I got 2 asada and 1 pastor. The asada was so good, great flavor of the meat. There is a topping bar with pickled onion, salsas, and other toppings. Good tacos, great music and vibes. The parking is rough, small parking lot next to Dutch bros with a lot of great businesses until one building but this place is a must to stop at

Yelp
Fun hip taco place! We walked in when they were busy cleaning which was nice to know they keep it clean and neat, had a clean smell and looked well sanitized, bonus for us when it comes to eating at restaurants! Friendly and quick service. Hubs didn't get to try their fun IPA wall selection, it was out of service. We ordered 3 tacos each and our favorite was their Pastor so ordered couple more. I didn't see Birria tacos on the menu, not sure if I was overwhelmed when ordering when it was our turn and missed it or it was seasonal option? We will be back for more again, our kids loved their asada tacos and cheese quesadillas! They have a good selection of toppings at the bar, my favorite was their pickled onions, I ended up using leftover on the cucumbers they had at the bar, was good snack while waiting for our tacos. My only complaint was the music being too loud, other then that, their service was friendly and quick, they keep their place clean and sanitized.

Yelp
My previous review still stands as the tacos are delicious! I got carne asada on corn tortillas. The pickled onion at the salsa bar was too salty, but everything else was good. I recommend asking for an extra plate when heading over to the salsa bar so you're not struggling to carry salsas and toppings to your table.

Yelp
10 stars!!! I'm a Sonoran, from there, carne asada expert and let me tell you, this place is legit. Great quality carne asada, expertly GRILLED but not Smokey. Not dry. Not gamey. Not old tasting. Freshly made even at 230 PM. The quality of the meat as well as the preparation were spot on. Great salsas. The pastor pork is seasoned/marinated very good as well, a less saucy version also chargrilled, more common to Sonoran/northern pastor (versus the southern style). I think these may be the best carne asada tacos in Phoenix, and I've tried many places (not all but many). Can't wait to come back, please open a location in Tucson!!!

Yelp
I can't speak to the location as I ordered for take out but it was easy to grab and go. I got a mix of the tacos with carne asada, al pastor, tripa and cabeza to try. The tortillas were nice but fair warning a little oily probably from absorbing it all from the meat. It was nice to see how generous they are with the meat portions for all flavors. My faves were the cabeza and al pastor. Be sure to grab tons of salsa and toppings to go because it's so easy to finish! Also the extra napkins as it does get messy when eating. All in all, pretty satisfied with the options, portions, and pricing for the meal.

Yelp
EPIC YUM!!! Talk about a blend of flavor & goodness!!! The salsa bar area is loaded with fresh cucumbers, radishes, slaw, picked onions ... You will be glad you ate inside or out. Cool seating with tables and stools watching side walkers or amazing tunes and smells of the grill inside :-) Go for the Barbacoa Plate - you will enjoy!!! And they love on Military Veterans w/ Service Discount

Yelp
Had to try this place out because TACOS are my thing!! Now hear me out, Taco Boys wasn't bad, but after adding up and subtracting their strengths and weaknesses, they come to an average rating. Service was friendly and helpful. Restaurant was clean and has plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. They have a cool liquor wall bar and salsa bar. I had the carne asada taco and al pastor. Al pastor was VERY good! Carne asada was average. Their meat has many fatty pieces () and although I don't mind a little gristle, I found it to be a little too much. I also ordered some tortilla chips, as they are not complimentary like most places (). The chips were not very good (), as they tasted too processed for my homemade taste buds! Salsas were good. Overall, it's a solid taco place, but because I'm a taco connoisseur, I would try out other places when I'm in town. With a few tweaks, this place could definitely make a higher rating, at least in my book.
