Delicious tacos in a laid-back and friendly ambiance. I got the Nashville hot chicken, tikka masala, signature, and filet mignon tacos, and I liked them all! The ones I would definitely recommend are the signature taco (which was packed with beef, bacon, cheese, and other delicious toppings) and the Nashville hot taco (which was perfectly spicy and crispy)! If you dine in, you also get complementary chips and salsa, which is a nice touch - they have a variety of different salsa options to choose from!

I placed an order at 9:01pm via their mobile app. My sister found this location as it was near our hotel. On their website, they have you get $7 off your first order via the app. When placing the order via the app, the discount did not apply. I called the restaurant and I was told they would manually check that it’s my first order and provide a refund. I got the kids chicken quesadilla and fries for my son. I got the 3 taco plate American and Mexican style without lettuce and tomato. One taco was chicken, one was steak, and one was chorizo. I got rice and beans on the side. The order was ready at 9:09pm. I like how they placed the refried beans in a little fried tortilla cup so that it wouldn’t be messy and mixed with the other food. More Mexican restaurants should do this! My favorite taco was the steak one. The other two were okay. My son enjoyed his food and the fries were seasoned, which was nice. I stole a few, haha. They have lunch and daily specials throughout the week. I didn’t get a change to return as i was on vacation, but I would in the future.

Very clean! Quick service and the tacos were great we tried all 5 varieties. Favorites in order Chorizo and chicken 1st, then El pastor, then carne and ground beef least favorite. The sauce bar was amazing

I visited Taco Maya on a Monday during lunch and was pleasantly surprised to have the entire place to myself! If you choose to dine in, they treat you to complimentary chips and salsa, which is a nice touch. I always order the signatgre tacos with extra chipotle mayo on the side. Something about pineapple on top takes me back to Hawaii... The service was quick and friendly, making for an overall enjoyable experience. Taco Maya is definitely my go-to spot for trendy tacos! Highly recommend it!

A friend was visiting Chicago and on a whim we decided tacos were what we wanted for lunch. With zero expectations, we arrived at Taco Maya, and right away, we were pleased with the environment and the cleanliness of the place. It was busy, for lunch hour, because it was a weekday, and yet the service was super quick. Here's a breakdown of everything: The chips and salsa: chips were super crispy, and had a hint of salinity, which is the mark I always look for in a good chip. The salsa was great as well, flavorful without being too spicy, you kept wanting to go back for more. The Birria tacos were a hit with my friend, and she loved the horchata. My shrimp tacos were pretty good too, but nothing to write home about. The chicken taco I got was fantastic, and again, it hit the right spice level without overwhelming the protein. My husband ordered the chicken enchiladas and devoured each bite. The rice was warm and delicious, but the beans were PHENOMENAL, and the little chip cup they come in made all the different because it added the perfect texture to scoop the beans with, or break and eat with. The STAR of my day, and the show, was the Espresso Horchata - I will go back to this place for the espresso horchata alone! Definitely recommend!

Definitely a great place to get some late night eats in. I love that. They have some Indian fusion tacos. My favorite tacos are the Samosa taco and the Nashville cauliflower one. My husband loves the al pastor burrito. if you're looking to indulge, the loaded fries are also delicious when you go in, you can get unlimited salsa from the salsa bar, and they have multiple very delicious options ranging from mild to spicy, depending on what you like. Definitely worth checking out the next time you're looking for a late night meal. I have tried all of their locations and the quality is always great!

Don't ever buy a gift card here. Six months or so after I bought a $100 gift card it "expired" and they wouldn't let me use it, which is illegal. By law gift cards are not allowed to expire in Illinois. I tried a few more times to use it and the staff just said it was expired. I am only in town a few times a year and didn't have time to argue about it. I finally went in and insisted they call the manager. Wasted 25 minutes of my time to get it straightened out. They said the card expired because they switched to a different system. The manager claimed this is the first time they've heard of this problem. How convenient, they take your money then a few months later switch to a new gift card system that invalidates your card and they don't let you redeem it. Instead of transferring your credits to the new system, they just tell the staff not to accept "expired" gift cards. How many customer's gift card money did Taco Maya keep, because who has time to call a manager and deal with the runaround? Shady!

This has become our go to taco shop that is close to our office. Everything is always super tasty and fresh. Plus the people that work here are very nice. We usually get our order to go but the dining room is spacious and there is even an outdoor patio. The salsa bar - yummy! I love the daily taco specials - it's a great way to eat for cheap.

This is a nice casual restaurant to come grab a quick bite. They have an extensive menu and have a lot of different fusion food which I loved. They also give the option of just getting a few small things instead of having to order big platters of food. We had come here as we wanted something light for dinner and this place fit the bill. It didn't look very busy but we realized quickly that they had a lot of to go/take out orders. When we sat down they gave us free chips and salsa and the salsa was very flavorful. My favorite part of the restaurant was that they had a salsa bar! SO many delicious salsas to pick from and mix and match. I loved it! I got the tostada and it was the perfect combination of flavorful and light. My friend got the tacos and she said they were also good. They also seems to have an extensive bar and their margaritas looked amazing! I'd easily come back here. Service was quick and fast.

Yummiest paneer tacos ever. Service was good. Their salsa bar is mind blowing. A great place for vegetarians. It's a cute place.

Taco Maya is getting a rare five-star review. The tacos were excellent and the chips and salsa far exceeded expectations. Service was fast and friendly, but the ordering process was a bit more confusing than necessary. Those dining in order on a smartphone app, but ordering at the counter would be faster and easier. I do like that you pay on the smartphone app, but I'm not impressed with having to tip before I receive my food or service. In a sense this could be considered tipping extortion, because if you don't tip, what are they going to do to your food?

Solid Mexican fast food. Love their extensive menu and open salsa bar. Sat us down with some chips and warm salsa. I got the burrito bowl with Carnitas, it was delicious with the Avocado Salsa from the bar. A bit pricey but portion sizes are big. Service is quick and their online order and pay set-up is easy.

My go-to for taco, quesadilla, and queso delivery. I don't care how many times I stab the roof of my mouth with chips!!, I'm getting the queso every dang ol' time...My favorite taco is the Nashville hot chicken. For some reason it just makes me proud to be an American. The crunch is incredible...the filet mignon quesadilla is THICC and JUICY. Ten out of five stars. I want a t shirt!

I really enjoyed the food here! Reasonably priced, lots of flavor, great salsa, lots of vegan/veggie options, and the staff was very friendly and accommodating. Loved the decor and there is some outdoor seating as well.

This place was so good! The resturant had customers order from the qr code menu and the staff brought out the food. We both got the enchiladas and they were so good! The beans and rice on the side were also delicious. The beans came in a cute little tortilla cup. The sauce bar was also delicious! They had a range of multiple sauces. The avocado based sauce and the green sauce were delicious. I'd definitely come back to visit next time I'm in the area.

I ordered delivery on Uber Eats. Overall, it was really good. The meat wasn't too dry on the tacos. I liked the Fiesta Cup Refried Beans. It's a clever way to be eco-friendly and not use a mini plastic cup. However, I do have one complaint. The queso and chips are about $12. The salsa and chips are about $5. They come with the same amount of chips. For $12, I expected it to be fantastic queso. It's worth maybe $4. It's very liquidy and pretty bland. And I like bland... so if I think it's bland, then that's very bland. For the churros, I wish they didn't have the filling on the inside. I also wish there was more sugar/cinnamon on them. It was very light and unevenly applied.

FOUND A PIECE OF PLASTIC IN BURRITO !!! Insane we've been here a few times and came in on a Thursday for national burrito day craving some tacos and burritos. Customer front desk lady tried to help and offered us refund for burrito but we were nauseous after it happened. there was also a fruit fly flying around us the whole time!!!! really really disappointed and grossed out.

I got the dorado, shrimp and pastor tacos! My favorite was the pastor and dorado, SO YUMMY. I was very surprised on how tasty the food was. Chips and salsa are provided. It was my first time visiting Chicago and I deff recommend this spot if you are in a taco mode. I didn't order any drinks because I felt it was over priced ($14 for a margarita). Service was quick and they play great music

This place has the bestttt tacos and all around mexican cuusine. When we visit Chicago we always stop by Taco Maya for a quick snack or a full dinner. The staff is always friendly and the prices are all right for downtown Chicago. The location is convinient since we always stay at the Embassy Suites attached to the same building, and there is a metro stop right outside of the restaurant in Grand. The vibes are awesome and the music is always poppin. We loveeeee Taco Maya!

I love the elotes here. Service is super fast. And it's casual with good music. It's a great place for quick tacos! They also have some Indian taco variations.

This is my new to go, causal and fusion-y taco place. Obviously not authentic Mexican, but if you're looking for a twist, definitely recommend. Absolutely love the menu and the extensive list of options. As an Indian, the new Indian food themed tacos were great. What they definitely have going for them are the reasonable prices on some of the more standard tacos and the salsa bar (my favorite part). Some might find the prices steep, but it's what you expect for River North. I enjoy sampling all the salsas, especially because I love spicy food. I also like that they have some good options for my vegetarian friends. The drinks/margaritas are a plus (can't wait to try the margarita flight). Inside of the restaurant is clean with plenty of space to sit. The servers were nice as well. They bring the food out to you as it's ready and the rest is pretty self-service.

Omg so yummy. Perfect late night spot. Tacos run about 5-6 bucks and their corn tortillas are so flavorful. The staff is friendly and service was quick. I enjoyed the Nashville Hot chicken, Cajun shrimp, and Chicken Tinga. I did not enjoy the Korean beef as much as I expected. The salsa bar was very good and had an avocado salsa and jalapeño Variety.

Great place if you have a late night taco craving. Our first taco choice closed their kitchen an hour before closing so we scrambled to find another place nearby to grab something to eat. Really happy we found Taco Maya. I came in and was greeted by a gentleman who was really nice and let us know how to order. You order and pay at the counter and they bring out the food to you. He brought us chips and salsa right away. The girl who took our orders was super sweet as well. The tacos and sauces were delicious. This is where they lost a star, the girl that brought us our food did not not have the friendliest disposition. You can tell she really did not want to be there. She brought out our food and we had no napkins. I asked for a knife and she said they are located inside, meaning to go get them ourselves. This is what confuses me about these half-self served places. You pay before getting serviced and also leave a tip before anything happens and you need to service yourself and get less than stellar service. Was I looking for her to bend over backwards, of course not, but at least just bring me some napkins and utensils when you bring my order out.

Delicious food, creative takes on tacos and they do Indian food well! I liked the samosa taco and chicken tikka taco. Salsas are good and trying them all is best in person! Would recommend getting at least 3 tacos

Frozen mango margarita was an 11/10! So delicious! I'm so thankful the staff suggested that! The tacos were very unique and flavorful! I really enjoyed the signature taco. The ingredients all seemed very fresh and the tacos were made to order! The way they were packaged made it seem like they would last well in a to go order! The staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating! They care about their patrons and their experience at taco Maya! Definitely can't wait to be back! Also, they have a great lunch special and margarita flights!!

I have been to this location twice now and both times have been amazing. My most recent visit was for a Yelp Elite event. I ordered: -the margarita flight: I was able to sample each flavor & each one was great. However, my favorite was definitely the pineapple. The owners explained how they use their own proprietary tequila & fresh juices imported from Mexico! Amazing. -chips + hot salsa + queso: chips were perfectly crunchy and seasoned, the salsa was warm which was a pleasant surprise (had great flavor and consistency too), and the queso was also delicious. -Korean beef taco: I'm Korean & the marinade on this steak was spot-on. It tasted like I was eating my mom's bulgogi!! The addition of jalapeño and cilantro perfectly compliments the beef. -cajun shrimp taco: this was very well-seasoned & the combination of the mango salsa and shrimp was the perfect bite. -samosa taco: loved this one as well. The samosas were perfectly crisp & the mint and tamarind sauces were great. Couple of critiques though--more sauce would've been great & I would've loved to get this on the corn tortilla instead of the flour. They told me you can only get this taco in the flour shell. Don't sleep on the salsa bar either!! I tried every flavor & they were all on point. If I had to pick a favorite though, it would probably be the avocado one. It just tasted so fresh! I have to mention how this place is minority women-owned. Love that! Keep up the good work. I will definitely be back :)

My friends have been raving about the paneer tacos at this spot for quite some time now so I decided go give it a shot! I consider myself an expert on most things paneer because I've grown up eating it on a regular basis SOOOOO I went in thinking, what's all this hype about? We ordered 2 paneer tacos and a paneer torta (not pictured). The menu is quite versatile with a ton of variety! Everything looked so delicious! There's a lot of seating inside but we got it to go! It does tend to get pretty busy around lunch time so make sure you get there in advance :) Now for the food... omg they were delicious!!!! We got them in corn tortillas, which I highly recommend!! The paneer pieces were perfectly seasoned, topped with chutney, onions, pepper, and cilantro! Absolutely mouthwatering and incredibly yummy! The paneer torta was prob the best I've ever had! It was the perfect blend of all the toppings with the paneer inside the sandwich and it was absolutely YUMMMYYY! I am drooling at the thought of these tacos and CANNOT wait to go back and eat them again!!

Taco Maya is local gem for street tacos with a little international flair. I just learned that they are expanding to their 10th location. But I've only been to the Ohio St locale for dining in. For me it's all about options, flour taco shells and a good a** horchata. Taco Maya has all three. I have my staple the grilled steak but each visit I have attempted to test my palate. On my most recent visit a special event for Yelpers I sampled the pork belly. Hmm hmm good. The flavor and texture were just perfect. A little sweet with a lot of savory after bites. Everything is cooked fresh to order but the wait is never too long. The staff are always so friendly. I've had the pleasure to dine in 2x and pick up take out a few more. Did I say I love their Horchata? No really the first time I dined in I thought they may say "ma'am there are no unlimited refills. " It was that good. Parking is street meter if lucky to grab a spot but if on foot it is a short distance from public transportation on Clark or State streets at Ohio. Dine in or pickup I find the quality and presentation remains great quality so check out this local biz.

Came on vacation, not looking to find this gem of a taco spot. The Tikka taco & Dorado taco were out of this world. 10/10 recommend! Can't wait to come back and visit

All in all, these tacos were decent, but not so good that I would come back specifically to eat here, especially when they are so many other great taco options in Chicago. We ordered a trio of tacos with the shrimp, fish, and steak tacos. My favorites were probably the shrimp and the fish which I felt like were a 3.5/5. The steak taco was just ok in my opinion 3/5. I did really appreciate the friendly service and clean ambiance of the shop. The location is also prime and good for a quick bite if you are shopping in the area.

Taco Maya is a casual spot with interesting and unique tacos. They have a handful of vegan and vegetarian options. I got the samosa taco for $4. They served our tacos with complimentary chips and salsa and also had a sauce station with avocado salsa, salsa verde, etc. Open til 2am Thursday-Saturday so my friend and I were able to get tacos after a night out in River North! Overall, perfect late night food, or a quick cheap meal anytime of the day.

This location is the worst. 2 stars because the signature taco flavor always slaps, but we've given them 3 chances and they just don't match south loop location. For starters: 1. They upcharge everything- in store and especially on food delivery apps. We're talking a whole $3 difference for their queso online vs in store 2. The times we have ordered from food delivery they've messed up every order. 3. They skimp on toppings- online and in store. I counted 5 cubes of steak on my signature taco (see pic). South loop location would never.

I am so glad I got myself to give this a go!! Best tacos I've had in a while. We arrived and appreciated the plentiful seating both inside and out. This can easily accommodate patrons even during a rush. The menu was updated to add a few fusion style tacos and I was very excited to try the samosa tacos. I also got the Nashville Hot Cauliflower Taco and added a basket of fries! I couldn't even stop to breathe! The tacos were very flavorful and the taco held up to the last bite. The tortilla chips were warm and delicious and the toasted salsa was insanely delicious. I almost did it all over again after I finished! It seems they introduce new tacos every once in a while and I would definitely stop by if I'm the area to try some faves and see what's new.

Had ordered from this place a couple of times and finally got a chance to visit it. Loved the tacos and the creativity. Especially, the $1 samosa taco - love it! The service was quick, but not super friendly. We ordered the veggie empanada, Chicken tikka taco, paneer taco and Dorado Taco - they were all delicious. Also really liked the different types of salsas that they have - habenero was my favorite. Nice place overall, would love to try other items on the menu soon.

was looking for a lunch place and discovers this neighborhood gem! walking in the ambiance was nice and the service was great. I was greeted immediately and went to place my order to go. I took the cashier's recommendation and ended up ordering Korean beef taco and Nashville Hot Chicken. Both were delicious and made to order. If you are looking for a taco place this place won't disappoint. The salsa bar is one phenomenal with salads fro mild to hot! I will definitely be back and try other tacos!

Visiting Chicago for the weekend I wanted to try something new and Taco Mayo was close to the hotel and easy accessible late at night . I wanted something good but not too heavy , so I got a kid's chicken burrito meal and including a drink ( I got horchata) and it was all delicious and fresh . Will definitely come here again.

Great tacos! Husband loved the choose your own sauce bar. Margaritas were ok. Kind of wish we would have got the margarita flight, the varieties looked pretty good at the table next to us.

This restaurant was on our way to another location and caught our eye. We stopped in for lunch. We were quite pleased word the quality of the food and the service was very friendly. The restaurant was quite clean. Worth a stop if you're in the area.

Taco Maya is a delicious fast casual/order at the counter kind of restaurant. We stopped by after walking around the area and was wonderfully surprised at how delicious our food was! The staff here were so nice and checked in on us to make sure everything was good! I had the grilled steak tacos and an order of the elotes. Both steak tacos were delicious (and surprisingly decently portioned). Will definitely come back if we are ever in the area again!

I was introduced to this restuarant by attending a yelp event and oh boy when i tell you I am glad I was invited and attended. The Food was delicious and well prepared. The Ambiance was perfect with a musician on site and the staff was friendly and welcoming. I had a margarita flight and it was so inspiring, they all were delicious. I have been back twice for lunch and plan to keep coming. love love love this place

I've been to the Logan square location and this one is better, in my opinion. Not only is this one a lot more spacious, but it also has a sauce bar. You order at the counter and then someone brings your food to your table. You get complimentary salsa and chips, but the salsa comes hot which I'm not a fan of. I got lengua (tongue) tacos and my boyfriend the ground beef torta. The lengua had a different texture than others I've tried before, but they were still good.

I stopped at this spot on an early Sunday morning after a night out at the bars. It was perfect! Ordered two chicken tinga and two steak tacos. They were good, hit the spot! I also got a drink and with tip paid about $30 for the whole meal. I think I liked these tacos a bit better than Zombie tacos just around the corner if you're looking for a comparison. Both are worthy but this spot has a little bit better flavor.

I kept seeing the place passing by taking the dog out on walks and so I had to try the food. I placed the order online easily enough but somehow managed to order flour tortillas instead or corn. They were still delicious and had great flavor. I got the Signature Taco, Dorado, and Chingon. Service was quick and friendly. I appreciate the creativity and would like to come back and try more items.

Fantastic place! Food was delicious. Not too salty. Great salsa bar to choose salsa from. Service was friendly. We did dine in and was immediately offered a basket of chips and salsa. Got the 3 tacos plate (chose the shrimp, paneer, grilled steak tacos) and all 3 were good (steak was a bit dry). The guac was good. Only feedback I'd give the restaurant is for better napkins as the thin single ply little napkins didn't quite suffice Rid and Amees were friendly and great! Definitely coming back to try other items!
