Taco Miendo

The breakfast tacos are oily even for tacos that are traditionally cooked with the fat rendered from the meat. The tortillas are gummy and taste like preservatives. The staff is kind and they quickly have your order so service gets 5 stars. The execution of the food is lacking.

A wonderful discreet small taco place located inside the Chevron gas station. Freshly made to order tacos, excellent Rona sauce with some kick. Ordered the Spicy Bronco and Vaquero tacos, (both pollo) the spicy taco hit the spot while the Vaquero taco was right on except found the bacon a bit too salty. Can easily have 3-4 tacos, good sized.

I love this little gas station taco spot! I go every Saturday and would go Sundays too if they were open on Sundays! Their asada tacos hit the spot every time! My son gets the burrito and demolishes it! They also have bacon wrapped jalapenos! So so good! I am a repeat customer for sure. Love it!

Don't be dissuaded by the fact that this place is in a gas station, it is absolutely delicious. I had the shrimp taco, taco al pastor, and a ranchero taco. I did like the shrimp, but the other two were 10/10. I think they try the meat quickly on a flat top because the meat on both was crispy, but oh so juicy and flavorful. This was my first time here, but I cannot wait to go back. Definitely ask for extra salsa if you like it spicy (but also because its delicious).

I got a Taco Ranchero from this place... I must say I came in for another & staff was very kind! Very good food for low prices... Keep up the good work & help this business with reviews!

Y'all have become my comparison to every other taco place I go to. Absolutely awesome food. Quesadilla was so cheesy I felt like I robbed y'all. Tamales were so fresh and had a great texture and taste.

I've been meaning to try this place for awhile but finally did today and it did not disappoint. I asked the gal at the register to give me her two favorite tacos and she recommended the tacos al pastor pork and their beef taco. Both were super good but the pork one was insane. This spot is located inside of the chevron gas station, they have a window on the back wall. The staff was so nice and the food was incredible. I will definitely be back!

Taco-miento is permanently closed!! the new owners opened up with the name of Taqueria Guadalajara deli the new owners have great food!!service is great and very clean

Save your money. Not only are the tacos very small but the tortillas are store bought. Couldn't even finish them. 6 dollars in the trash.

One of my places to get tacos!!! This place is inside a gas station but don't let that deter you from coming in, their tacos are one of the best! Reasonably priced, great variety, freshly made and just amazingly delicious. I don't usually like chicken tacos but their spicy taco bronco left me dreaming about it for days. I am a regular customer and will continue to be. Haven't tried the menudo yet but hopefully soon!

Tacos in a gas station eh? Given the surplus of high reviews, I was a bit disappointed with my tacos, especially given the surprisingly high number of people who order during lunch. At the end of the day, Taco-Miendo tastes somewhere between tacos I would make at home in college or well, gas station food. There's really nothing that impressive about the tacos or the salsa though they are serviceable (they are tacos after all). We tried the fish taco, spicy bronco, barbacoa and pastor and well, they were on the bland side, on what looked like generic store bought tortillas. The barbacoa especially tasted kinda just like boiled meat - surprisingly bland. The green salsa does add some flavor with slight heat but given all the other taco places in town, you could do better. That said price ain't bad.

Just got back from ordering togo (3 pastor tacos, on corn, with cilantro/onions) and these were on point with any taco restaurant/food truck in the city. Typically I like my pastor with pineapple but never deduct points if it doesn't have them if the meat is flavorful and these didn't dissapoint. Tacos were filled with meat, onions were slivered well, green sauce was top notch, corn tortillas were not thin and held together perfectly. $2.50 a taco is pretty standard anywhere and since this guy is a one man show and uses Circle to run his business I understand the price even more. He was personable and friendly, service was very fast considering I ordered a "lunch" taco at breakfast and was an overall 5 star experience.

I'm going to be completely honest, if it weren't for the good reviews I read before coming here I never would have tried this place. I never would have thought that a counter at the back of a tiny gas station could have such good food. If I were to have just walked into the gas station I never would have actually tried it.. but I'm SO glad I did! Taco-Miendo is absolutely amazing. The guy at the counter was very nice, the prices are great and much more importantly the tacos were perfect. Simple, very well done and fresh. I'm not sure if it's a good thing or not that I stumbled across this place because I will likely be coming here way too often! I don't even know what to recommend because it was all great. And at these prices? Why not just try everything!

I've been back every week for the past few weeks if that tells you anything! I managed to snag some coworkers to come this time, and they all loved it as well. My favorite thing right now is the torta al pastor. It has absolutely wonderfully soft bread, toasted just enough, with a large pile of their delicious meat. I wish I knew the guys name who always takes my order (he is super nice), I'll have to ask next time, but he suggested he'd make me a shrimp ranchero taco (not on the menu). Perfection, can't wait to have it again! One of my coworkers got a tostada that he definitely recommends and we tried a couple of the tortilla wrapped bacon jalapeno poppers which were fantastic. Already excited to go back next week, I should try something new... but that torta has my heart.

Oh my goodness! You have to try these tacos! So delicious! It is inside the gas station and they have a few small tables to eat there. The guy behind the counter was really nice and it made our experience even better. Al Pastor- delicious add a little lime and salsa and it's finger licking good! Beef Fajita- oh em gee the little crisp on the beef is so delicious! Again lime on everything cause that's how we roll. Shrimp taco- nom. Nom. Nom!!! I wanted three more after I finished! So good! Great tacos, yummy salsa, and nice people made for a great lunch!!!!

I went there today for the first time and I got three tacos (pastor, bistec, and barbacoa) and they were so good! Julián was super nice and helpful and so was his dad (who makes the food). Will definitely be coming back.

I really don't think this place is all that. The service was 5 stars because she was so friendly and happy. The tacos filling lacked freshness and flavor. The fish was a bit dry. The tacos are quite bland. The quesadilla was just okay and the teaspoon of sour cream pathetic. The pico de gallo did not seem fresh. Over all an unpleasant dining experience.

If you want quick and quality tacos, this is the spot. Tucked inside of a convenient store, it can be missed when driving by. I think the location really adds to the story and flair of the business. Their chicken bronco tacos contain chicken, jalaoeños, tomatoes and well seasoned and juicy chicken. Be prepared for a juicy tender bite. Their Torta Cubana has ham, weiner, beans, avocado, crema, lettuce and tomato. I really love that you can add roasted jalaoeños and pickled onions to your order at no charge. They serve breakfast tacos in the morning. I came in the afternoon and didn't try but will get their earlier next time to order some chorizo con quevo tacos. This is a great spot for on the go tacos. The man who runs the spot is kind and reminded me of my abuelo. Show this local spot some love.

Feeding 3 people for $13 with hearty, delicious, fresh food served by a friendly mom & son duo... I didn't realize that was still possible in this town! Taco-Miendo makes this magic every day except Sunday from the tiny food counter in the back of the Chevron at Parmer & Lamplight. Usually, the dad of the family runs the place, but on this day, the Mrs. said that he was under the weather so she and son were taking care of customers for the past few days. They certainly didn't seem like amateurs to me... The place was busy and they weren't flustered at all. Each customer was greeted warmly in English, Spanish, or both, with offers to answer any questions or make a suggestion for first timers. A hot case contained several options for grab & go breakfast tacos, but I was on a different mission. Since it was my first visit in person (having previously eaten plenty of to-go orders delivered by my awesome special friend), I wanted to try a bit of everything. My order: the gigantic torta mixta (which easily feeds 2 people), the chicken & nopalitos bronco taco, the steak ranchero, and the good old bean & cheese taco (for our boy who eats only boring food). Chef Nicolas made it all with lightning speed and I was called to pick up my goodies within 10 minutes. Thank you for the fantastic fast lunch at such a great price! Perfectly ripe avocados on everything, and not just a little stingy sliver either, but huge chunks! Such flavorful meats! Such fresh veggies! Nicely toasted bread and tortillas! Real cheddar cheese! I'm hoping all these exclamation points are giving you the right idea... this place is great! Open 6a - 5p, Mon-Sat Menudo on Saturdays Eat in or take away FYI: This spot used to be known as Taqueria Chelo, but that place closed about 2 years ago. There's now a by-hand carwash for $10 outside (replacing the often broken automatic carwash), so this can be a great place to have a meal or snack while you wait for your car to have a bath.

This place is LEGIT! Dare I say, the best in North Austin? I can't believe I've been living next to this gas station, getting my car washed here every 3 weeks...and never decided to peek inside. I ordered the ranchero and vaquero tacos. They were both $2.50 and very filling. What makes the tacos stand out is unlike the regular cilantro and onion that comes with street tacos - these are filled with avocado, shredded cheese, tomatoes, and bacon. I can't wait to come back and try the torta!

WOW. As everyone else says, yeah, it's in a gas station. But for a taco or BBQ place, honestly, isn't that kind of a good sign? The staff are very friendly, the food is dirt cheap, the flavor is incredible. What more could you ask for?

Our favorites are the shrimp taco, the steak ranchero was amazing, the egg potato and bacon, steak egg and cheese, and the al pastor!!! The owner/lead cook is super friendly and personable! We enjoy it being quick and cost effective! And amazing tacos !!!!!!! A++++

Like the other reviews, definitely look past the fact that it's in a gas station mart. Tacos were amazing and the man who was serving them was so kind! I only tried the al pastor and shrimp tacos but I would 10/10 recommend both

Super unassuming gas-station taco joint, but as always, you never know what you're in for! In my opinion, this joint has some of the best tacos around and for a price you can't beat. Nice family run operation, extremely friendly and they remember who you are. I try to frequently stop for breakfast, their bean cheese and bacon is my favorite. Their Ranchero taco is the real show stopper. Incredible flavor beef fajita taco, but pimped out with all sorts of extras and deliciousness. I also really like their jalapeño poppers, served in a warm tortilla.

Great food & great service. They were closing up when we came in, but they insisted on serving us. I'm glad they did because the tacos were SO good!

Friendly service. Great price. I had the breakfast tacos -- chorizo and egg and potato and egg. They were piping hot and delicious for the price. The mild salsa was adequately spicy. Only thing that sucked was $2 minimum on credit card to buy a drink at the gas station but that's no fault of the taco shop so no stars taken.

Not good. Day old stuff and tortillas are mission tortillas I would not recommend this as good tacos. Not sure how they have the reviews they do.

Yes, it's in a gas station. But the tacos are on point. I went on a date here, and it was surprisingly kinda fantastic. The staff are friendly, and the food is amazing. DO try it.

The restaurant isn't very big but they make up for it with amazing food and amazing service. I loved my chicken fajita tacos! The chips and salsa was delicious and always replenished. Their queso was very creamy and also delicious.

Best hole in the wall tacos!! Friendly, fast, and delicious! I love going here anytime I'm in the area! Its inside the gas station and is usually fairly busy. Order your food, they have you sit an enjoy or take it to go. Super chill guys everytime I've gone.

The best food you could ask for, out of a gas station. Everyone ALWAYS has such great customer service. Great food and great service has kept me coming back for a long time! Try everything here, there's not one thing I didn't care for. I like it so much I had to stop coming for a while and now I'm back and as always they have yet to disappoint me! Oh yea, the onions that you see in the picture are a special mixture the owner makes, please try it (I put that sh** on everything!)

The gentleman running Taco- Miendo seems to be a one man show or at least in the morning. Very pleased with the quick and friendly service and the delicious breakfast tacos.

Don't judge a book by its cover! Stumbled on this place since it's inside the gas station while waiting on my car at the car wash next to the building. At first i was kinda skeptical given the appearance. You'll know what I'm talking about when you visit. Anyway, I decided to give it a shot and ever since I've stopped by to grab tacos when I'm around the area and whenever I come for my car wash. Great tacos, friendly staff, great vibe.

Excellent. Nick's Burrito, shrimp taco, steak fajita taco, and taco vaquero were all delicious. And it's in a gas station market but there's tables and chairs and it was a comfortable eating setting. Some of the best Mexican in the area.

Delicious breakfast tacos, one potato and egg and one chorizo and egg. No homemade flour tortillas but that was okay because they had red spicy salsa! It gave the taco that extra kick to make it real good. The place is hidden away inside a corner store, so at first I wasn't sure if I was in the right place. Had to add my 5 star review to these 25 others incase people still use yelp to find hidden gems like this one.

This place is awesome!! Inside the Chevron and worth going in to get some tacos! We ordered tacos al pastor, tacos rancheros and tacos vaquero. All worth ordering!! Our favorite were the tacos ranchero!! Hard to find legit good tacos and this place was delicious! The man working was very nice and friendly and made everything to order. I didn't see any food sitting around getting dry like most places so everything was fresh and hot. If you're in the area you need to stop here!! We live 2 hours away and will definitely be back!!
