"Taco More has been around for over a decade—with a few locations in the Austin area—and in that time, they’ve developed a bit of a following for their goat stew. So when the place eventually added goat tacos with consomé to the menu, it wasn’t a huge surprise—though certainly a welcome one. The consomé here is served as just that, with no onions or cilantro—though they are included on the side. There's also a pretty large menu of classic taqueria items, including sopes, quesadillas, tortas, and, of course, tacos. Google
Most amazing quesabirria tacos and suburb chips and salsa. The goat sopa is to die for. Absolutely love this place. I have lived near by for only 3 weeks and have eaten here 8 times!

Google
The food was good and we got our order pretty fast service was good. The only complaint I have is that the AC on the extended area was not working, so it was a bit warm even with the ceiling fans on other than that. It is a cute little place to grab a bite. I would go back again when in the area.

I have got to come back again. I came in a week day and had the lowest quality TexMex of all the meals I’ve had in Texas. Yeah that bad. Here I sit with a terrible experience and everyone else raves about it. Yeah, it was cheap. But it tasted like it too. Honestly that chain Taco restaurant was better quality and flavors. Maybe just a bad day, but it was a strike for me.

Service was good. Food came to us with very little wait. We went for breakfast brunch. My husband got menudo- had no hominy. It was okay… I had an egg taco with nopales. It was a normal sized flour tortilla. Definitely not home made tortillas. The chips were store bought chips. The salsa was okay. We also had a birria dish. It was good.

Google
It was very good . Food is great I have tortilla soup and also Cubano sandwich . Good flavor, price good come hungry because plates are big . I list for me it was . Green salsa was good . Service today was little out place . The first time it was a Sunday there were busy but service and food it was great. But I think our waitress was new. I will be back . Home made food .

Google
The restaurant is super limited by space and the staff does nothing to mitigate it. They ask people to wait to be seated but allow single people to come in and "claim" big party tables. Also their staff is not rushing to clear dirty tables. Estimated wait time? No clue or extremely innacurate. No AC or heating. Food is good, probably would only get take out.

Jeffrey Larson

Google
The food tasted good but the taco was itty bitty teeny tiny and expensive. So I'm not going to go back there and buy a taco ever again.

Google
This is a big hidden Gem in Austin for very good & authentic food. I had order the jamaica juice, some fajita tacos and a Tortilla Soup, and to finish it off with a Choco-flan cake. It was so good when I get another day off, I’m coming right back here to have breakfast.

Yelp
I was recommended this place.... I am really glad I was. The food here is great Small little restraunt tucked in the corner. Why this place should be blasted all over for the amazing flavor and spicy chili sauce they serve. I love my salsa and taco sauce hot. Here thats what I got. The ladies here are so nice and smiling so much. Makeing sure you are enjoying your food. Which there will not be a doubt that you are. I am definitely coming back here to try more options. You will see me again.

Yelp
We usually go to taco more at least once a month. Today we went ordered steak nachos and a pound of barbacoa. They made a mistake and gave us a pound of steak for tacos. We didn't realize it till we got home. Called asked them to replace the order because we didn't get what was ordered. They agreed so we made a second trip to get the food replaced when we got there they refused to replace the soggy nachos that were ruined because we had to return the order they did give us the barbacoa but still we were out gas for two trips and we've got a cold nasty mess of nachos that are garbage. Overall a horrible experience thru no fault of ours will be thinking twice before visiting here again. Wasted 40 plus for the food plus over an hours time making 2 trips and wasted gas vechicle wear and tear too. No Bueno considering calling this place Taco No More.

Yelp
It was Cinco de Mayo and we wanted Mexican food. I wanted to try some place new, and craved Birria Tacos, and Taco More popped up as recommended, so we headed out for lunch We were barely inside the door the when the BF grumbled, "This place doesn't have a liquor license." "How can you tell?" "No beer signs all over the walls." He wanted to leave immediately. I was torn, really wanting a big old Margarita with the meal, but also thinking "Birria Tacos!" I insisted we stay. He pouted a bit. The salsa was unusual, served warm and very tasty, but our chips were stale. My tacos were pretty good, very tasty meat with good seasoning and a nice-sized cup of consommé alongside. I chose the 3 taco plate, no rice and beans. BF continued to pout because his ceviche had more veg than seafood, and they didn't give him a fork. But he conceded that his fajita taco was good. Prices were decent, service a little lackadaisical. We ate our lunch, then went to La Palapa, for great chips and huge cheap Margaritas!

Yelp
Taco More le doy 5 estrellas porque ya vez mi plato... taco NO MO'!! No me quedo nada menos mi consomé ‍‍‍

Yelp
Back here again at my favorite taco place in Austin. I can't rave admit this place enough!! REAL Mexican food! Not Tex Mex! Top notch service and quality. I have yet to find a better place here in Austin!! Get the peanut salsa, it will haunt you! Better than and more addicting than crack!

Mr H.

Yelp
pretty good as well as the service would definitely come back again next time. Al Pastor TacoBeef Fajita Tacos

Elonte L.

Yelp
Reminds me of home! Amazing service, quick for to go orders. I'm so excited to find Mexican food so good!!!

Yelp
Hands down my favorite tacos in austin. Plus they are right next to Emos so its a great late night snack. My first time there, I definitely was probably one of the only white people there. A++++++++ sign that this is going to be AMAZING. It feels authentic, the staff are kind and silly and efficient. My favorite tacos are the al pastor and shredded pollo. But my other friends will swear by any of their breakfast tacos. When I lived a block away... we definitely started to the point that they new my order haha. And its a great place to bring friends! Great job ya'll!

Julie N.

Yelp
Used to be a go to place, quality and taste have gone way downhill (super super salty and greasy) over the be last two years. I'll no longer waste my money. Sad indeed.

Seham A.

Yelp
Always love their taco, price are very affordable and taste so much better more like a homemade taco.

Frances Q.

Yelp
They really need to train their manager.. My hubby ordered one plate and I ordered another and both should get rice and beans, his came with rice n beans on a plate, mine came with just the meat on a paper plate..?? so we let them know and tje manager told us that it was the kitchens choice what and how to plate that particular order..okay, so we pointed it out on the paper menu and they insisted that it was the kitchen's choice and it'll be Extra to get it right..!!? i DO NOT RECOMMEND!! the Riverside location is much better!

Liz S.

Yelp
Still excellent and authentic Mexican (as opposed to tex mex) down home spot in North Lamar area, with a good range of tacos naturally but also great seafood dishes like ceviche, sautéed tilapia, various soups etc. It's the only Mexican restaurant I've ever been to in Austin that serves warm salsa with your free chips and I don't know why, warm salsa is freaking awesome. Prices are really reasonable and it's a great option for take out or dine in. Be sure to get a massive 32oz horchata to wash down all the spiciness.

Arshia M.

Yelp
It's in an inconspicuous area and unassuming restaurant. The people were kind. The food was delicious. Loved it!

Myrna T.

Yelp
Ok Mexican food, great service and affordable prices! Great aguas frescas! Could come back just for those

Icky V.

Yelp
Was not a fan, gonna be a hard no for me. I definitely wouldn't come back. If I'm being honest the birria and consommé smelt like a farm, I've had better Birria tacos. Also no beer

Donnie R.

Yelp
¿Es esto un restaurante o un bar/salón de baile? La música está demasiado alta, lo que hace que los clientes tengan que gritar para tener conversaciones.

Rebeca C.

Yelp
This place had great reviews but I have no idea why. We were visiting from San Antonio and are used to great food and this place was not it. They use paper plates for everything and styrofoam cups, even for coffee. The food was not great except the menudo. We ordered tacos and cheese enchiladas also and they were subpar. Service was also just ok. Save your time and go to a different restaurant.

Lauren S.

Yelp
This place is great. Food is awesome and the people working there are very nice. I order to go a lot and they have literally never messed up my order.

Pablo G.

Yelp
It should be illegal for the birria tacos to be this good. There is nothing better than this in Austin.

Cameron P.

Yelp
It might be the best sit down taco restaurant in all of Austin. They call it Taco More because you'll want more of it.

Leilah J.

Yelp
Goat soup is amaze balls! Staff is super welcoming & the restaurant itself is outside & inside seating.

Ed L.

Yelp
Good value and great tasting food. Careful, their mild sauce has some kick and I can handle kick. Great breakfast tacos and tortas.

Chanel M.

Yelp
Was feeling adventurous after seeing pics on IG of Consume. So I looked it up on Yelp and Taco More popped up so I decided to give it a shot. I went in and ordered food to-go. The service I received was nice and fast although it was probably a little delayed since my Spanish is not so good so I asked a few questions. I got a Barbacoa taco and a medium-sized Consume De Cabrito (Goat). I just had to try the Barbacoa taco and it was great. It was on corn tortillas and included cilantro and onions. The Consume came in 3 sizes and I chose medium since I still wasn't even sure if I'd like it (small was a tad bit too small and large was massive). I have to say it was a great soup with an awesome flavor. It came with a ziplock bag filled with chopped onions, cilantro and lime as well as several corn tortillas. It was delish.

Lyla A.

Yelp
I am sad to give our experience 3 stars. Here's the scenario: Catering order of fajitas and trimmings. The trimmings were excellent (salsas, tortillas, rice and beans and the typical fajita accompaniments) The food was plentiful with way more than enough but the fajitas were so incredibly chewy that my jaw hurt. I chewed and chewed and then spit it out. Everything else was top notch but it's the fajitas that we ordered for in the first place. I have never felt the fajitas from the round rock location were chewy but these unfortunately were. I love taco more and I will try again some time. If they're better, I'll definitely update my review. I absolutely love their salsas and condiments. Thank you!

Angy R.

Yelp
They had bad restoration they have bad attitude they don't serve like you don't like they don't pay right The righteous right they have to share money the people who works there and then top of that they're so rude and I don't even like their food at all I don't recommend nobody to come to this business to come and eat with your family or friends

Dolly N.

Yelp
Still as good as I remember it. With Covid, you can't take advantage of their salsa bar but they are more than willing to bring you want you ask for. Honestly, their goat soup and a handful of some other tacos--this place just hits the spot. I recommend it to anyone who asks where to go for tacos. They also have quesabirria for those on the hunt for it. Definitely delicious quesabirria tacos, although the consume is probably just their goat soup (minus the meat inside) but it warms the belly on colder days.

Mahesh P.

Yelp
*Great food*, nice ambience, and general happiness. This is one of *those* places, present throughout the city, catering to locals, serving honest, authentic, mexican food, and disseminating happiness to all and sundry. There are two locations - Rivierside in the south, and Parkfield in the north. You're more apt to get a purely hispanic crowd at Riverside, though at Parkfield you'll get a lot more fo the north austin/domain/UT crowd. Either way, the food is really really good. * The tacos are *excellent*. Go for the cabeza, chicharron, or lengua if they have them. If not, everything else is good too, but these are off the charts * The birria (goat/chickpea soup) is destination worthy, and tastes of CDMX * The salsa bar is loaded, and delectable. Beware the orange one tho'! * Beers available, as well as a variety of non-alcoholic stuff (horchata, jamaica, etc.) So, go, and be happy!

Abhishek M.

Yelp
Total hole in the wall place. Highly recommend the Quesabirria plate. Lots of goat meat options. The goat meat is so tender both in the soup and in the tacos. Great salsa too! Quick service on a week night.

Janet F.

Yelp
Had a very unpleasant experience here. They charged me on the website. But didn't confirm the order in time so their online ordering system canceled the order automatically. It will take hours, possibly days to get the money back out of limbo. No more than an "I'm sorry" from the "Manager". I will not be back

Pax S.

Yelp
Super grimy indoor sitting area so I would strongly recommend taking out from this place. The birria plate was pretty good although the beans and rice lacked flavor. The flan was very disappointing.

Frank L.

Yelp
Not great at all. This is the first time I've EVER being to a restaurant that puts Chickpeas in the Consume de Cabrito (Goat in Broth). I have being eating this dish since I was a kid. I would understand Maize in it, but why Chickpeas!? It completely ruins the dish, this is someone's invention in the chicken that is nonsensical. Also the Tacos I ordered came in hard straight out the fridge tortillas.

Lily N.

Yelp
We were craving for some tacos and seeing the pictures and everything, it seemed like legit, so we went and gave it a try. The restaurant was in a very run down area, but it wasn't dangerous or anything! Walking in, the inside dining area was very small and they also have a patio kind of seating area as well. There wasn't any tables inside, so we sat in the patio. There's fan, but because it's covered there was no air ventilation, so we were sweating. I got some beef steak tacos and the meat so really dry, there wasn't any sauce coming from the meat or anything. It wasn't a very pleasant first time experience, so I don't think I'll be coming back.

Nidia L.

Yelp
Staff is always have great customer service friendly and attentive. Food is ready and have a great taste. Staff is great at keeping up with the cleaning.

Leila L.

Yelp
Pretty big restaurant and a nice big parking lot to match. We were confused on seating but someone helped us with a table. After you order and are done eating you take the ticket they gave you and you pay at the register. They have a 'patio' area and an indoor area. They provide free chips to your table and the have a small salsa bar in the inside area. Their tacos are authentic and cheap (~$2.50 each). We ordered three tacos and a sope. I tend to try al pastor at any taco establishment. Overall the tacos were good but lacked the flavor I was looking for. It was a little dry. My boyfriend got the goat taco which had some more flavor and was a bit juicer. But I can't complain much for the price! Next time I might try one of their soup dishes since I noticed a lot of other tables ordering it as well.

Turner L.

Yelp
Great Food! The Chicken Fajita Tacos are some of the juiciest I have ever had. Service is incredibly fast and your food comes out very quickly. Prices are great so you can order a fair amount. Will be coming back

Lyndsey S.

Yelp
We stopped by after a quick search because the one place we found online was not only difficult to find in person but they also ran out of food somehow. We headed to Taco More instead. As we walked in, we noticed a clean restaurant with a choice of eating near the kitchen or a warm sun room. We chose the cooler area and were waited on immediately. We were specifically looking for birria tacos and quickly orders two plates along with ice teas and water. When you want ice tea here, they don't disappoint. You get a LARGE cup and probably for most it's big enough to take the rest with you. We also ordered shrimp soup, beef fajita tacos, and a bacon cheese burger. For our app we order guacamole. The guac was fresh and delicious and their salsa that came with the chips were crema and a chili type salsa. Both delicious and spicy. The shrimp soup came with fresh slices of avocado, tortilla chips, and a homemade broth. You never know what you'll get at some restaurants but I was so pleasantly surprised that they have their own homemade soup full of flavor. My son did not say a single word while he ate his fajita tacos. He was so happy with them. The burger was ooey gooey with cheese and looked so good, not like some reheated frozen burger or anything but rather they took the time to make it their own. And our birria tacos? Well, WOW. Amazing. Dipping into the sauce only enhanced them with the chopped cilantro and onions. Perfecto! The waitress was so attentive and sweet. We definitely found our home for homemade Mexican dishes and tacos. This is not some bland Mexican place with your typical sauces and bland meats. Instead, every dish is full of flavor and freshness. And get this, their rice was steaming fresh and glistening instead of dried rice made hours prior. We can't wait to go back!

Laura D.

Yelp
This is the second time I go to the Parkfield location but this time I decided to eat there. It's so comforting, quick service and the food always fresh and delicious. It's like I'm in Mexico. Love this place!!

Celeny B.

Yelp
So good!!!! This location has an indoor and outdoor space. You can sit anywhere and they'll come to take your order. There are English speakers so ordering is easy! Their menu is very diverse. The salsas are spicy, and my favorite is the green sauce. I had tacos, but I also saw that many patrons ordered the shrimp cocktail. It was super impressive from afar and I'll be ordering that next time I visit. We also got horchata which comes in a HUGE cup. Delicious! Very authentic! We'll be visiting again soon.

LaPeshaa C.

Yelp
I like this place. I don't love it. Yes they have a salsa bar with lots of options (cucumbers, limes, 3 salsas, grilled jalapeños, etc) but I found their salsas to be bland. I loved the ceviche toastada. It had great flavor and the sliced avocado on top was fresh. I had a bistek torta as well. The best part of that was the bread. It was grilled lightly but still very soft and held up to all the filling in the torta. The bistek was tender but needed salt and pepper. You have to ask for pepper and they'll bring it out to you. The service was good though no one ever asked to refill our water.

Lisa R.

Yelp
There is a place, where tongue is treated like no other...okay this could get raunchy. Eric R. found Taco More and we met up with Jason S. (our mutual friend who introduced us in 2004) and his two cute children for post-park-playing tacos. Eric R. was in search of barbacoa, and he was able to get both goat AND beef barbacoa (lucky guy)! I opted for lengua and one potato and egg taco with avocado. There was a salsa bar with six or so salsas and many condiments. The salsa that came with the free chips on the table was warm and mild in spice. Jason S.'s four year old loved it and I found it very tasty for a mild salsa. My lengua was so good - it was crisp on the outside but soft and juicy on the inside. It came with cilantro and onions and I drizzled some tomatillo salsa on it. I got the potato/egg/avocado taco on flour and tried it with both the warm, mild salsa and the creamy green salsa. Eric R. also had a bacon and egg taco that he enjoyed with his two barbacoas. Jason S. got the potato and egg like me plus a carnitas taco, which he and his 18 month old enjoyed. The kids got bean and cheese tacos too. We really liked the chips, which were crisp, unsalted, and far from stale. They were replenished twice at our request. Eric R. and I also shared a horchata which was great. I would definitely recommend stopping here for tacos and a salsa tasting with those tasty chips!

Ali A.

Yelp
Solid no frills taco spot with good food at a good price. It's definitely doesn't have the ambiance of some of the chic taco joints around Austin but the food was very good. It seemed like most of the customers and staff were primarily speaking Spanish, the wait staff were nice and spoke English (since I don't speak Spanish) but it was apparent that English was a second language. The goat taco had good flavor but was a little greasy. The steak tacos didn't come with avacado and cheese but I added them, it was definitely a plus that they have plain sliced avacado and real queso fresco! (I've been suprised by some tacos places that don't have queso fresco). I was probably the most impressed by the ceviche toastada, it was really good and had a lot of fish and two fat slices of avacado on top. The salsa bar was cool, they had a few different salsa options and they were all good and had some kick to them.

Virah K.

Yelp
Was hard deciding where to get street tacos but I'm glad chose taco more. I got the bistek, pastor and fajita tacos on corn tortilla. My boyfriend for the goat tacos with the dipping broth. Service was great, clean place with a sink to wash hands outside the restrooms... Their chips and salsa are bomb

Henry L.

Yelp
Man, I need to start being more adventurous with taco places. It may be getting chilly, but any weather is taco weather. We sat in the "outdoor" area, but like the good hosts they are, the screens protected us from wind and a heater from the cold. The environment is really what makes this place awesome. A small band playing loudly in the corner and families everywhere just enjoying their lunch. You can't help but feel that you're in the right place at the right moment. Oh, and I heard their food was good too. I got the small bowl of their Consome de Cabrito (goat soup). Just delicious. The goat meat was pulled and very tender. Almost every bite had bits of fat and the meat just broke down in my mouth. The broth had tons of flavor but was actually very light. Like the broth in chicken tortilla soup without all the cheese. It also had a nice kick without the whole thing being spicy. Their portions are pretty big too. A medium bowl itself will fill up most people, but since I got three tacos as well, I stuck with the small. Good choice on my part. The tacos I got were the Cabrito, Pastor, and the Lengua tacos. Just like in the soup, the cabrito was tender with all the natural gamey flavors you'd expect eating goat meat. The pastor was super savory with a really nice charred taste. The lengua was my favorite. Although it could've had more flavor, its texture was perfect: charred on the outside, and fatty on the inside. If you've never tried beef tongue before, this is the way to get introduced. Prices are good and they certainly don't skimp on the meat.

Eleanor L.

Yelp
The carnitas taco was amazing! The meat was crispy and fatty - the onions and cilantro so plainly but perfectly accented the meat. We also order the ceviche and quesabirria tacos but ceviche and goat meat have never really been my cup of tea but my brother devoured them! My only complaint was the service was a little disorganized but even then the food and paying was still very quick! Next time I'm ordering more tacos or maybe one of their plates!

Starr W.

Yelp
TACO MORE. Cause I want more more MORE MORE MORE!!! Fast Paced. Hot, fast food. Occasional live music, Badass salsa bar. I have been to this location on several occasions. Now that I live around the corner, that is. The last two times I have gone I literally got two breakfast tacos. That was enough for me. I got full both times, and I left satisfied. The prices are very reasonable. I have not experienced any bad customer service or any issues at this location. On days like Sunday it can get cramped but definitely the best place for breakfast tacos in the area. I haven't checked out much of the other food but it looks delicious! And I will update when I do. :) Check it out ok?

Christopher R.

Yelp
I freaking love this taco shop. The only question is, are they called Taco-More? Or Taco-Moré? Is there an accent on the name? Or does the waitress have an accent? It's a thought provoking question for sure... great food! Try it all!

Sandy M.

Yelp
This had to be the worst Mexican food I've ever had. I came in on a Friday night. The tables were empty except for one other couple. The cooks were standing around just staring at you from the kitchen. I had the "soft beef" tacos. The meat was tough and had an old taste to it. It was piping hot from the microwave. So were my corn tortillas. They were definitely not fresh. The horchata was the absolute worst I've ever had. I can't believe this place is still in business yet alone have employees. Their were 4 waitress's and 3 cooks in the kitchen. PLEASE SKIP THIS PLACE! You will be better off going to a taco truck or even taco bell. Im confused about the good reviews? You'd think this place would be awesome especially on a Friday night? Dont waste your money!

Cloie B.

Yelp
Was very disappointed. Did not feel authentic at all, I was so surprised by all the positive reviews. The Aqua Frescas tasted like powdered lemonade, the queso tasted like melted American cheese, and sadly the meals weren't anything spectacular. Had such high hopes, lesson learned. Not sure if it was a different story previously & has just gone downhill or what.

Sea D.

Yelp
We ordered out for lunch on a Saturday at peak time and had a pleasant experience. My wife ordered the Caldo de Res and really enjoyed it! She was given plenty of beef and the soup my plenty hot when we got home! She did mention that she wished there was more corn and that the potatoes were cooked a little longer. I ordered the Bistek Torta without lettuce. It was okay, not my favorite torta, but definitely still a good meal. I would be willing to try it again with a different meat. I did add mayo to the sandwich at home to give it the bit of moisture it was lacking. The wifey said the service inside the restaurant was superb. She appreciated the friendly interactions and the cleanliness of the restaurant! Overall this was a good experience and we will definitely be returning to try some of the many other options they have!
