Jeopardy Uses Austin Tex-Mex Restaurant Polvos as a Game Show Clue | Eater Austin

"I learned that South Texas chain Taco Palenque opened its first Austin‑proper location on June 24 at 4607 West Braker Lane in the Gateway neighborhood; the chain already has Austin‑area restaurants in Round Rock and Cedar Park, plus a ghost kitchen location in McKinney." - Nadia Chaudhury

I had loved the food with Taco Palenque San Antonio location so decided to order from Austin as we are visiting here. Ordered through Ubereats. Total disappointment. Ordered street tacos but got no onion, cilantro or lime. Got different sauces than I had selected. The meat was full of fat. The quantity of the corn was barely half a cup. Total rip off. Chicken quesadilla was decent. So sad I wasted $40 over this!

We have become fans of Taco Palenque. The food is always very fresh and we love the salsa bar. Today we were at the Braker Lane location, and everything was really good. And the people were super nice. Olivia took very good care of us.

I stopped by Taco Palenque here on Braker for the first time ever. Totally expected a lower end, fast food-style taco, but ended up getting something waaay better. The beef fajitas were incredible, honestly. On top of that, the service was also very friendly, which is not something you expect to see at any drive-thru in 2025, unfortunately. You can go spend 10 bucks at Taco bell and sit on the toilet for 3 hours, or you can spend a couple bucks more for fresher, higher quality plate. Need to try the breakfast.

I love taco palenque!!! I have been to Laredo’s location my whole life and food is always amazing. Sadly, I went to Austin’s location and there was a small piece of metal in my food. This was shocking since I was about to swallow it! This was dangerous and disappointing.

I will share my experience on here. I ordered bean and cheese tacos. The quality was not right. There was a bunch of oil in it. I have ordered this previously at the other location and it was definitely not the same quality. Why was there a bunch of oil in a bean a cheese taco? I understand greasy or oily food. But this looked like someone purposely drizzled more oil on it. The texture was so oily I could not taste the beans or cheese and the oil texture made me sick(yes I tried it unfortunately). I usually go to the Cedar Park location but this evening I decided to go to the Braker location since it was open. I seriously suggest retraining your workers. It's bean and cheese tacos, how can that get messed up?? If the workers wouldn't eat it, why should I? The quality should be the same throughout every store location. Someone needs to expedite better and double check orders also before packaging. Do the right thing moving forward please. This experience was not right though. This was also the first time going to this specific location and possibly last.

I go through the drive thru so no idea what the ambience is like. My order is right and it is hot though. It seemed to take a while to make, but this isn't Taco Bell. It seemed like my tortilla was not microwaved. Honestly if there was one closer I would be there often! Great food. I asked for a particular sweetener for my unsweetened tea and they came back with a few options to choose from which was exactly what I needed. I love that while chicfila has their mile long line I can choose this and get something that seems just as healthy with a lot less stress.

I usually go for breakfast tacos, food is ok , what I’m most upset about is the amount of potato and egg put inside. I understand cook at home if you want to be hooked up, but $4 for 1 taco and they skimp me all the time is what’s crazy!!! Do better if yall are going to charge $4 a taco,
