A FAVORITE! All the food was fresh, flavorful, and plenty! George was amazing and friendly! Highly recommend their quesabirria tacos and quesadillas with consume. I also loved how big the egg and steak breakfast burrito was. Their salsa bar was also had a lot of different options - mild, medium, hot. Lots of seating too, so great for larger groups.

Heard this place was 🔥 and it was! We ordered a keto taco and loaded burrito...so yummy! Salsa bar is fresh and we were greeted with friendly smiles. Can't wait to come back 😋

🌮🔥 Taco Papi = Flavor Heaven! 🔥🍜 I don’t even know where to begin — Taco Papi is next-level incredible! I came in hungry and left obsessed. Their birria tacos are insane — rich, juicy, tender, and packed with that slow-cooked flavor that hits you right in the soul. The consomé? Drinkable. I’m not kidding. Then I tried the tikka tacos and my mind was blown. Who knew Indian spice and Mexican street food could marry so perfectly? The tikka was bold, creamy, spicy, and so unique — truly a flavor bomb. And don’t even get me started on the ramen. YES, they have ramen — and it’s legit. Deep, umami-packed broth, perfect noodles, and that fusion twist that makes it completely unforgettable. Oh, and the service? Absolutely top-notch. Friendly, fast, and they make you feel like a regular from the moment you walk in. You can tell the crew cares about the food and the people they’re serving. Taco Papi is an absolute must. If you’re even remotely near this spot, RUN — don’t walk. 🔥🌮❤️🍜

Google
A lot disappointed with Taco Papi. The al pastor tacos were burnt and dry. The quesadillas were greasy. Definitely not worth the price. It was way overpriced just those items and two drinks came out to $35.xx. Not worth it at all.

Google
Staff was absolutely friendly, professional, and helpful. The food came extremely quickly. I was interstellar since Indian and Mexican cuisine isn't usually mixed, but it works well. The quesabirria taco combo was the star though. The cup of mangos was delicious as well. Highly recommended this restaurant!

Google
Amazing food and great service at Taco Papi! Everything was so flavorful and my fiancé said his steak burrito was one of the best he’s had. Loved the birria tacos and salsa bar.

Google
Everyone liked the meat, the unlimited toppings is an amazing plus. Ths salsa’s variety was very good and i like that there were a few spicy ones. The tortillas were so soft and tasted homemade. Highly recommended coming from a mexican born person.

Google
Ordered delivery and this spot was bomb! They do birria tacos and quesadillas and they do it right. I only got a picture of the quesadilla but all the tacos we tried were tasty too. Definitely try this place if you're in Scottsdale.

Yelp
Best Tacos and Customer Service Ordered; 2 Carne Asada Tacos 1 carne Asada Burrito Mango Lassi Smoothie & The House Horchata. Gracias !

Yelp
Very quick service & yummy food!! So many toppings & salsas to choose from!! Good vibes all around :)

Yelp
This place surprised for the taste and the quality of food. As soon as we entered, we were surprised by the mere size of the restaurant and the place for indoor and outdoor seatings. This place is lit. One of the best biria I ever tasted. Food was incredible. All were so good that it's so hard for me to pick my favorite. They are definitely so generous with the meats. Everything had ample of meat of choice. It was so much that salads were struggling to find their place. Salad bar has great varieties and everything was super fresh. If the location was not far from my current home then this would have been my personal to go place for food. Hot place and highly recommended for great taste of their meats. Overall I would recommend this place if you like flavors and value for the money. Here are my takes: Food/Drinks: Ordered a bunch of things and everything was too good to be true. Great flavors and quality of food. Options and the pricing for those will surprise you for sure. No complaints at all here. Service: You order, pay and wait at the seat. Food gets delivered in no time. Staff was nice and everything was so quick. Ambiance: Very well done interior. When we went here it was kind of empty with just one more table occupied. But can imagine the ambiance when it is full. Its a great place to be at. Hygiene: Very clean and gives an appeal to the experience. Price: Very well priced. So reasonable that it will surprise you for the quantity and the quality of the food. Value for the money.

Yelp
Woooooow this place smacks!!! The first taco I had was the chicken tikka and it was pure perfection fusion. I could eat four of those. Totally works and is just amazing. Next I had the asada vampiro. It was great full of flavor and just the right bite. Last taco was the quesabirria it was the best of the bunch which is saying a lot. It was so packed with flavor and the consume was ridiculously delicious. They have a salsa bar with great options variety of heat. Lastly we got a churro and flan and they both were delicious. Everything is made in house and you can tell with a lot of love. Can't wait to come back.

Yelp
What a great hidden spot in Scottsdale. This is the second time going and haven't been disappointed. The keto taco is fire! And it's also a huge portion for every item especially the burrito! We got to chat with one of the employees and hearing the story is always awesome. Homemade salsas at the salsa bar. Mesquite charcoal on the grill to cook the meats. The service has been great, genuinely happy to work and serve their customers. The food is so good. Indoor is clean and open for many people not on top of each other. I will be back and if you are in the area in the mood for Mexican flair this is the play.

Yelp
Great place for tacos and agua Fresca. Stopping in to grab a quick bite taco papi hit the spot. Well come again.

Yelp
5 stars - Flavor-Packed Hidden Gem! Taco Papi may look unassuming, but it's one of those rare finds that completely overdelivers. This casual, order-at-the-counter spot serves up food that's full of flavor and heart. We had the carne asada combo, birria combo, and pollo nachos--both were outstanding. The carne asada was tender and flavorful, and the nachos were layered juicy, well-seasoned chicken. The fresh guacamole was the perfect sidekick. One of the highlights? The taco condiment bar! From pickled onions and diced onion to cabbage, creamy avocado salsa, and a variety of other house-made salsas--it's a flavor playground that takes your meal to the next level. We also tried the flan and tres leches for dessert--both were absolutely spot on. Smooth, rich, and satisfying without being overly sweet. Bonus points for their creative Indian fusion offerings--can't wait to go back and explore that side of the menu too. Friendly service, fast food, and big flavors. Don't miss this spot! Who's your Papi?? Taco Papi!

Yelp
When the flavors are so layered and rich, you don't need huge helpings of food to be satisfied. My quesobirria was perfectly grilled. Soft, succulent shredded beef bursting with flavor and the crispy grilled cheese. The consommé was not too salty and was robust beefy goodness. The Al pastor smelled amazing! The salsa bar: finely diced pico de gallo, onions and cilantro, limes, guacamole salsa, peanut salsa that was fire, salsa verde and two other salsas that was was fuego!

Yelp
For starters, I'd like to start off by saying I absolutely love the Quesabirria tacos here! I've searched long and far for some good tacos in this area and Taco Papi is it. When the store first opened I spoke with the cashier and they had mentioned they had previously run a stand until they opened the store. The street food is definitely lacking in this part of town but taco papi fills that void. The ambience of the store is great and I've never had a problem with any of my orders. I will say it's a little pricey compared to some other places but the extra coin is worth the experience. Overall they have great staff and great vibes, I'll definitely keep ordering here in the future.
google avatar

Bella W.

Yelp
The veggie tacos were decent. Mostly beans and corn, not much variety. The sauce helped balance the flavor. Staff were welcoming.
google avatar

Rachel A.

Yelp
When visiting Arizona you have several hundred taco shops to choose from and really can't go wrong. Pros to this one: Salsa bar Bottle, can, and fountain drink options including beer if that's your thing Fair pricing Excellent tacos Large portions (including the street taco) Welcoming and kind staff Why 4 and not 5 stars: Inside is odd. Needs different seating and/or configuration to feel welcoming/match quality of food Nachos were a huge portion, carne asade on them was great, all other ingredients lacking taste and not enough of them Do recommend and would certainly try again!
google avatar

Gabriela L.

Yelp
Best taco place in Scottsdale for sure, I ordered the carne asada vampiro and was so so good but queda birria taco was my favorite so much flavor! 10 of 10!
google avatar

Yelp
Taco Papi has slowly become one of my favorite taco spots in all of Arizona. The service is great. The food comes out pretty quickly and can help you enjoy a lunch meal if you are on a shortened lunch break. They have Mexican music playing throughout the restaurant which is the exact environment I prefer when indulging in Mexican cuisine. The Pastor tacos is one of my favorites I have ever had. The Asada is very good as well. While they are not served to you with anything besides the meat and tortillas, there is a station that has 6+ different salsas, limes, onions and cilantro, pico de gallo, and anything else you could want on your taco. I have been here 10+ times over the past few months and will continue to go back because it is that good! If you have not tried this place and are looking for a great Mexican restaurant, give Taco Papi a try!

Yelp
Taco Papi is beyond amazing. Our family loves birria tacos...and to find a restaurant that specializes in various birria-combined dishes? Sign us up! This restaurant is a walk up, order at the counter restaurant and food was brought to our table. Love the old-timey feel with the red/white checkered paper! Reading on the menu birria-inspired entrees is one thing, but seeing is another. First the Birria tacos, then Birria quesadillas came out, and we were "ooh and ahhing", but when our birria pizza came out, our entire family let out a collective, "whoaaaaaaa". My daughter keeps talking about Taco Papi and she's been ordering tacos from other restaurants ever since. Matter of fact, not only are we coming back tonight but we are also planning to bring out of town guests in the very near future!!

Yelp
Delicious quesabirria. The barbacoa was also good. The green salsa was on-point. A little pricey, but what isn't these days? I am definitely going to go back and try other things.
google avatar

Liana M.

Yelp
My husband and I dined in on a Saturday afternoon. There were lots of open seats, and once you order at the counter, you can sit wherever you'd like. The employees were friendly and often checking in with all of the patrons - we got the vibe that these guy really care about the product they put out! I had the shredded beef quesadilla and my husband had the quesabirria quesadilla. The meat was very well-seasoned and cooked to perfection! My only complaint was how greasy it was. We also paid $4.50 for a small portion of chips, which was a little pricey IMO.
google avatar

Quinn H.

Yelp
If you are looking for flavor- this is your spot! You have to try the quesabirria- absolutely delicious. They also have bomb breakfast burritos and salsas. Great local place with really kind employees.
google avatar

Natasha A.

Yelp
I absolutely love their quesabirria quesadilla, it is absolutely delicious. Highly recommend!
google avatar

Megan B.

Yelp
We went here on a whim after trying to find good birria spots. This place did NOT disappoint! It was so yummy! They have a full bar too which I thought was pretty cool. But the birria tacos with the consume was to die for! My boyfriend got the chicken nachos & they had a whole salsa/topping bar to add whatever you wanted which we loved. Can't brag enough about this! I will definitely be back very soon
google avatar

Julie C.

Yelp
It was all good and delicious! Finally a place where I can just grab a good taco. A side bar has all the salsa and stuff so I can be picky. Yay!

Sarah H.

Yelp
Excelent shrimp taco! Salsa variety was awesome and fresh. Nice thick horchata ie not watery. Everything was yummy.
google avatar

Jill J.

Yelp
Yummy food and friendly kind service. Great portions but their salsa bar is next level - cabbage, onion so many salsas. Totally on point :)
google avatar

Nicole D.

Yelp
This is hands down my favorite spot for authentic, flavorful Mexican food in the area. The carne asada here is the best I've found -- truly full of flavor, not bland like so many other places. The birria quesadilla is also fantastic, which is rare to find done well at restaurants. The service is always excellent, whether I'm dining in or ordering delivery. They always prepare the salsa tray assortment with care, even for takeout -- a small detail that makes a big difference. I've ordered from them many times and will absolutely keep coming back. Highly recommend!
google avatar

Jason H.

Yelp
It's a solid locals spot for a quick bite. If you want simple, authentic and don't need a fancy interior, Papi is right up your alley. I recommend the horchata.

Cl L.

Yelp
Yeah it was delicious. Can't say about service due to a lack of caring? Maybe caught on a bad day. But I would go for the food
google avatar

Marybeth M.

Yelp
Good food. Really nice people. Easy parking. Cute place We had carne asada tacos and barbacoa tacos. The tacos were amazing. The salsa bar was great with tasty salsas. Unfortunately they lost me on the beans and rice. I hope that they rethink their beans recipe - it's just not good. So I removed a star. But everything else was spot on! And again - the service was amazing.
google avatar

Sarah M.

Yelp
Taco papi is so yummy! I grew up on the border of Mexico and have a hard time finding really yummy Mexican food, and this is in my top two Phx spots! I always get their chicken tacos because the chicken is out of this world flavorful! I'm really picky with meats but so far there hasn't been any gristle. The employees are so accommodating. Oh and they catered my birthday. Clearly I love it.
google avatar

Yelp
Went to a bachelor party in Scottsdale and literally ordered take out from this place three times in the span of a long weekend. The restaurant itself is large and has plenty of indoor seating. There are a great selection of beers and drinks to choose from. The salsa bar also has a great selection, highly recommend the peanut salsa. The best entree for this place hands down are the Birria tacos and quesadillas, add the consome on the side and it's perfection. Super heavy meal but great after a long night out. If you're looking for something less heavy, the burritos and protein plates are also great. Only wish the protein plates were a bit larger. All in all, great spot and highly recommend checking it out.
google avatar

Charles U.

Yelp
I walked out. They also do Indian food which I like but the restaurant just did not appeal to me. I have found restaurants that do two different types of cooking types just don't do anything exceptionally well. I did not smell or see anything appealing.
google avatar

Lisa S.

Yelp
Really really good tacos and meat! My personal favorite is the chicken tikka taco! Everything is full of flavor and they have a great salsa/ taco topping bar! Super yummy and great for a quick bite
google avatar

Samantha C.

Yelp
Absolutely blew me away! The red cheese enchilada had a creamy, bold red sauce that was unlike anything I've tasted--pure magic. And the birria quesadilla? Crispy, juicy, and easily one of the best I've ever had. A must-visit spot!
google avatar

Esmeralda S.

Yelp
Ambiance: Large group friendly and several televisions to catch a game. Cleanliness: Well maintained and clean! Taste: Favorable and generous servings. They cook their meat on charcoal which gives it such a great smoky flavor. Salsa bar is awesome . Service: Limited interaction with staff as you pay and order at the counter. Overall: We finally have good authentic Mexican food in North Scottsdale! I am disappointed it took me this long to dine here. I will be back soon.
google avatar

Yelp
Even in a state with endless Mexican food options, Taco Papi stands out as a delicious, creative option that truly hits the spot. If you're getting one item on the menu, get the birria quesadilla. This unique meal nails every essential factor -- the soft stew meat filling, the perfect cheese stretch, and (if you order a side of consomé) an incredibly flavorful dip -- without overdoing it on the salt. It's perfect paired with pickles onions from their salsa bar, which offers some interesting toppings, like a tasty coffee salsa. The Indian-inspired tacos are genius, too. Chicken tikka tacos just make sense!! And the paneer taco is a delicious vegetarian option that I adored. Genuinely loved everything we ordered, and the space is perfect for both large and small parties. Definitely will come back!
google avatar

Yelp
Amazing and packed full of flavor! Of course we had to try this place out on a Tuesday! We got the taco combo, shredded beef, and pork Pastor. They were seasoned so well and they give you alot of meat. And it comes with rice and beans. The rice was a little dry but I am picky when it comes to Spanish rice. My favorite part was their salsa bar. They had salsa Verde, spicy red salsa, a peanut salsa, and guacamole. They also had pico, onion with cilantro, and limes. The restaurant was very clean and the staff was friendly.

Chris B.

Yelp
We had a number of purchases to make nearby, and on our way to get some gas, spied Taco Papi. Excellent choice. The food was superlative, as were the adult beverages. Appetizers are well worth exploring, as are the entrees. Prices are very good (especially in this economic climate). Service is very good, attentive without being cloying and/or annoying. Why not tell the story of what we ate? To tell you the truth, we'd been there several times and one of the lies I tell myself is "I'll remember to write that review when I get home (~2 hours away). My apologies for not writing those reviews. They deserve the kudos. I hope you'll enjoy the location, food, beverages, service, and prices as much we have.
google avatar

Kyle G.

Yelp
This is the sort of fast casual style dining. Our tacos were super good and reasonably priced. Staff was very friendly, as well. Will be back for sure!
google avatar

Adrienne M.

Yelp
Omg!!! This is a must try. If you like great food even better service! This is your place. I stopped in to grab a few things to go for me and bf. Wow, everything was spectacular. I ordered a Barbacoa burrito and Birria Queso Tacos 4! As I did take all these items togo! When re heating up at home the items were great. The salsa bar was the star of the show for me. Every salsa I tried was excellent. Red pepper was my top favorite as well as the guac salsa. They had many more to explore. Ordering was easy and the place was clean. The gentleman taking my order was polite and helpful. I am definitely returning here! Oh sorry no photos. I ate my half of the burrito so fast it was Bomb.com. Maybe next time.
google avatar

Tina A.

Yelp
My son ordered the quesabirria tacos which he loved but giving it 3 stars because the supreme nachos is just a little bit of cheese and some salsa over meat. Carne asada had flavor but not worth the price. Get the tacos instead.
google avatar

Michael N.

Yelp
Taco Papi serves up solid, flavorful Mexican food in a casual setting. I had the carne asada combo--tender, well-seasoned tacos with classic rice, beans. I also added the guacamole and chips, which were excellent. It's a laid-back spot that focuses on getting the basics right. The food is very good, and if you're nearby, it's definitely worth trying.
google avatar

Yelp
Was craving quesa birria tacos and this place popped up first on the search. Their menu has a lot of options, guarantee you will find something you like. Ordering was easy and the person at the front was able to answer any questions I had about the menu. I tried the quessa birria taco combos. Comes with two tacos, rice and beans. Consome is extra which I did get (small cup on the right). Overall everything tasted great and I left satisfied and full. They have a side bar where you can grab as many toppings and different types of salsa that you need.
google avatar

Pat D.

Yelp
Popped in for lunch and it didn't disappoint! Birria, chicken, tortillas, and salsa are delish!

Greg B.

Yelp
Great food, amazing service, stacked salsa bar...for a quick lunch or dinner, you can't beat the carne asada tacos.
google avatar

Mike A.

Yelp
Did I go the same place as others with 5 star reviews? It was relatively empty on a late Friday night. One family outside and several tables inside. The overall layout of the place is wrong. When you walk in there is no clear path to place an order. Also there was not a single worker in the area to provide guidance; so we just stood there for a moment trying to figure out if we sit down for service, go to the bar or go towards the window in the back. Finally one guy comes flying out the back, bag in hand and waves "I'll be right with you". Anyway so you order by the bar/counter on the right. Food: Quesadilla with chicken was a greasy mess with overally charged taste. Wife said it was nasty. I had the carne asida combo. Steak was ok, but overall nothing special There is a salsa bar by the entrance, which is a nice touch. Fountain machine was out of ice. Overall: Not impressed and dont plan on coming back. Way too many better options in the area.

Yelp
We had a quick, small lunch before heading out for a hike. The staff was very friendly. We ordered a grilled chicken, a chicken tikka, a queso birria and a carne asada taco. The two best were the queso birria and the chicken tikka. They had excellent flavor and if it it weren't already getting warm outside I would have consumed all of the birria juice used for dunking. The regular chicken taco was better than the carne asada as the beef seemed to have that precooked flavor that was not as fresh. The condiment bar had really dry limes (with seeds!), cucumber slices, chopped cabbage, chopped onion and cilantro mixture and pickled red onions along with three hot sauces - one of them a peanut sauce and one green one. The dining room is large and there are cute murals on the walls. The bar is inviting looking with a large television in the center. If they had table service this place would be awesome. We will likely return to try a monster quesadilla.

Tia T.

Yelp
The service was great! The person taking our order was very helpful and answered all our questions. I LOVED the quesabirria taco I got and the loaded carne fires my sister got were HUGE. The beans and rice I got on the side needed more flavor. The mango lassi was more bubbly than ones I've had in the past and wasn't my personal favorite. Overall I'd go back just for the birria but not sure about the other items.

Noah T.

Yelp
Taco Papi never misses. Food's always fresh, service is quick, and the vibes are on point. Easily my go-to spot in town.

Yelp
Fast and friendly service on our online order! We picked up dinner after a spring training baseball game (Go Royals) and the food was great - our favorite meal in all of Phoenix this week! The quesaburria tacos were our favorite, but the carne asada quesadilla also gets an A grade. The salsa bar is a fun touch too!
