Google
I came here looking for tacos and didn’t pay attention to the fact that they’re all vegan here. At first I was very skeptical and I thought that I had made a huge mistake, but I was pleasantly surprised by the quality and creativity of the food. I never knew tacos could taste so good without meat. Especially with the blend of flavors, I was thoroughly impressed by the combination of texture and flavor. I had the jackfruit taco and one other and the blend of spice with sweet savory pineapple was amazing. For the other taco the cabbage, sour cream, and crunch were a perfect sweet and savory bite. All in all, I would definitely recommend this spot to meat eaters and vegans alike and especially to the former since they’re less likely to be open minded. It might not sound appetizing initially, but I can tell u the tacos here are not to be underestimated! The double tortilla wrap was a nice added bonus which made it easy to hold the tacos and made the bites more filling.

Music is ambient! Yes, you can talk to each other, Staff - 5 stars! Their recipes never go wrong! The owner should get back the 70s vintage Sansui amplifier! ☺️

I'm not a vegan, but I wanted to try this for a while. It was AMAZING. I loved the different tacos. I kept ordering after I was full just to try new tacos. I'll definitely be back to try more.

Google
Wowweee! Wow! I am not a vegan and this place did not disappoint. Came here while visiting a friend in town and the tacos definitely brought a party to my taste buds! Everything was so light and fresh and full of flavor. I got two tacos and some chips n guac. I love that I was able to eat and not feel so stuffed and heavy like you normally would at a Mexican spot. You can tell they use the highest quality ingredients. My only regret is not getting three tacos instead of the two I got. Will he daydreaming of these little bundles of joy until my next trip in to the city. Also loved the atmosphere and the choice of tunes playing! I knew it was going to be a good experience when I saw Robert Smith staring at me as I walked in the door and The Cure coming through the speakers. My inner teenager was in heaven . Taco party is JUST LIKE HEAVEN 😇😉

Google
Taco Party is such a cozy and welcoming spot. Sara the owner is incredibly friendly and informative when it comes to menu options. Darcie was hospitable, a great conversationalist and greeted me with a smile :) If you need a place with authentic Latinx dishes that are made VEGAN FRIENDLY with great vibes, and an all around delightful experience this is the spot! Highly recommend 5/5 💛

Google
Some of the best flavors and variety in Especially in the Mexican food realm!!!! What a great experience!!! Like being back in cali when you friends mom is trying to feed you but you have food allergies and she’s new to it but make some amazingness explode on your taste buds. I had a great time and can’t wait to try more than the tofu al pastor (which was so tasty) and the nachos 🤌👌

Google
A really cute place. The decor is very retro/vintage. It has a simple but tasty menu. I got the horchata, cheesy potato taco, and crispy fried tofu taco. The crispy fried tofu was awesome. I really liked the crispy tofu.

Google
They’ve gotten five stars from nearly every customer for a reason! It’s a small, simple menu with very creative and inspired options. Super ethical, very delicious, and it was just really cool seeing customers from different cultures all come together in this vegan taco shop. Seating is extremely limited, so plan on eating on-the-go or taking your food home. There weren’t any desserts when we went on a Sunday afternoon, and it would be awesome if they had vegan quesadillas and vegan breakfast burritos, but the torta and the sweet potato tacos were excellent!

Jessica R.

Yelp
Lovely restaurant and I love how they now offer booth seating. I love all of the tacos I've tried here but my favorite is definitely the jackfruit tacos! I also love the nachos and their cheese sauce is top notch! I love the sauces they use on the tacos as well as how they marinate the jackfruit, tempeh and seitan. The service was very friendly and accommodating. I cannot wait to come back to try more of their delicious tacos!

Yangsoo S.

Yelp
This place rocks The best vegan tacos I've ever had in my life. (I'm not vegetarian or vegan btw) My vegetarian gf loved it as well! Get the horchata. Thank you

Avani V.

Yelp
Vegan food done sooo well! Not trying to emulate the "real" stuff, just great in its own right. The jackfruit taco and crispy potato taco are must-tries. The nachos were delicious as well. The service was a delight as well! Truly a memorable meal. I will be returning.

Isha R.

Yelp
Excellent service! Tacos were ok, we ordered the potato taco, lentil taco, and seitan chorizo. My husband really liked the lentil taco, and the grilled pineapple was a nice touch. The potato taco I wish had more flavoring, maybe could have added more of the nacho sauce? Guac was somewhat bland too and could have used more lime and salt.

Michael S.

Yelp
I have vegan friends from across the country that still remember and look forward to Taco Party after one visit over a year ago. It's that delicious and memorable. If you are a vegan or have vegan friends, it's a no brainer to come here. But also, the food is so good, it hardly matters what you do or don't eat. I'm not vegan but these are some of the best tacos around.

megan b.

Yelp
Delicious vegan nachos! Definitely add the chorizo and guacamole! I have also had the tofu taco and cheezy potato taco and both are delicious.

Aakanksha S.

Yelp
Been here a few times, I think there's one taco I didn't like, but this time I got the crispy tofu and spiced potato tacos and they were both great! Each taco is over $5, so quite expensive, but they're fairly large and have plenty of fancy toppings. The crispy tofu itself is sooo well flavored, and it goes well with the mango salsa they've paired with it--this is the tank that keeps me coming back. The potato taco was also quite good, probably my second favorite here so far. It's really just nice to have a vegan option in Ball Square that you can take all your non-vegan friends to and be sure they'll leave happy.

M L.

Yelp
We tried 5 of the 6 tacos currently on the menu, and they were all delicious - and vegan.

Mary G.

Yelp
Eating vegan "out" isnt easy and take out is even harder. I've had Taco Party delivered several times and the food is always good! I don't think they have a bad option on the menu at all. It's a must try!

Brandon C.

Yelp
Delicious vegan tacos that are the perfect serving size!! Also, super friendly service. Highly recommend stopping by.

Karina K.

Yelp
I brought my vegan friends from Connecticut to this restaurant because I come frequently and kinda like the food. However, we needed quarters for the parking on the street. We asked the staff (a man in the counter) if he could change a dollar for us to pay for quarters. We assured him we would order a large meal (we were a party of 7) and also tip him well if he could help us. The staff refused to help us (even though he did have quarters available) and forced us to leave. he said the quarters were for clients at night (???) The staff are rude and don't care about returning loyal customers who are making an effort to bring their out of state friends to the restaurant. We went down the street to the other vegan restaurant that exists: Vegan Bistro. The food at the other restaurant was amazing! Staff was super friendly and helpful. Don't waste your time with people who don't care about your business.

Yelp
So happy to see a vegan spot in Ball Square. Unique, flavorful tacos and cool interior. Got the tempeh, jackfruit, and potato tacos. My favorite was probably the potato one, which was well-spiced. The cookie was the perfect consistency after I popped it in the microwave for 10 seconds. Didn't stay to eat in, but the decor is sweet and they also have a bar. It's getting colder, but there's also outdoor seating. Can't wait to stop by again!

Yelp
First time in Boston, and we were so excited to try a plant based taco place! There were a lot of great options including fried tofu, Burmese fried tofu, tempeh, lentil, and jackfruit. They are around 4 dollars per taco but the are bigger sized and 2 layered. They have Tortas (tofu or chorizo cutlet), nachos, and sides like chips with pinto dip or rice and beans. I loved that they have the Burmese tofu which is made from garbanzo beans. Soy free and gluten free! We got the Panko fried tofu torta and taco plate. The plate includes 2 tacos and a side for 11 dollars. The Burmese tofu and tempeh tacos were out choice. Burmese tofu: freshly fried and delicious by itself. Combined with tortillas, red cabbage, pumpkin seeds, and salsa, it masked the tofu taste a bit. It was still good though. Tempeh: very flavorful and delicious with lettuce. The tempeh is semi-soft and there is a good amount in the taco. Torta: that panko fried tofu is good! The torta bread tasted fresh and fluffy, but it was not heated at all. Mexican brown rice and black beans: tasted healthy and like it sounds.

Johnathan S.

Yelp
Every time I come to Taco Party, I am reminded how good it is. The taste pairings for each taco offering is incredible. The rice and beans side is great too. And if you like picante like me, then the El Yucateco chile habanero brings it all home. Great bear selection, whether draft or can, Taco Party has you taken care of. Five stars for sure.

Stacey H.

Yelp
I love this place. Their food is so consistently wonderful, and as a carnivore, I never feel like I'm missing something when I come here. Instead, I am always fully satiated after dining here.

Bruce K.

Yelp
I caught up with the Taco Party food truck today at Dewey Park near the Federal Reserve. I'm not sure why their Yelp listing is for both the truck itself and for the restaurant on Broadway in Somerville - usually these are separate. Freezing cold today on the Greenway, but Taco Party was serving up a variety of tacos today. The board mounted on the truck included "Crispy Fried Tofu," "Chimichurri Tempeh," "Chorizo Seitan," "Sweet Potato" and "Lentils Al Pastor." Tacos are $4 each or go for the $10 meal which includes two tacos and a side (chips and pinto dip or rice & beans). I'm not completely sure, but I think all of the above is vegan. I chose the meal, one taco with the "chorizo" and the other the "sweet potato" tacos. Carrying them back to eat, they were still warm when I opened the box and they were definitely delicious. I've never had a "sweet potato" taco before but this was delicious. Fried sweet potato slices with red cabbage and crema. All the flavors came through and there was a good crunch. Yum! Definitely a high carb option here. About an hour after lunch, I needed a 30 minute nap. Yowza. [Review 10023 overall, 1606 of 2018.]

Yelp
Taco Party is such a cool vegetarian place to check out. You eat their food and probably won't even know that they are vegetarian! My favorite is the deep fried crispy tofu taco...the rack came out piping hot as they do make to order for you. The place is small...with just a few tables and a few counter seats, but it was never too crowded whenever I stopped by. It is located in Somerville and a little walk from the T stop (perhaps 10-15 min), but the walk is worth it! Check it out if you are a vegetarian or curious about how good the food there can be. I got a recommendation from a waitress at another vegetarian restaurant I frequent and was not disappointed at all. The food is affordable at $4 a taco or $10 for a combo of 2 tacos and 1 side.

Yelp
Taco Party is the best place to get vegan tacos!! They have great flavors and it's a nice and quiet little restaurant. Only downside: a bit expensive, and they don't have that many flavors )-:

Prachee K.

Yelp
Came here on a Saturday evening. Ordered online for pickup but they have a few tables set up right outside (well spaced apart, available first-come first-serve) so ended up doing outdoor dining. We basically never go to vegan restaurants so weren't sure how it'd be but we had a surprisingly pleasant experience at Taco Party. Tried a couple of the tacos (Jackfruit Tinga, Lentils Al Pastor), a seitan chorizo torta, and nachos. The food was very well-prepared and of good quality. The texture of the jackfruit was good, as was the seitan. Everything tasted pretty good too, just a bit on the bland side. Wish the jackfruit was seasoned more; the seitan patty was a little too salty but otherwise not spiced. The sunflower seed cheese on the nachos was okay, but not great. It would've helped if the nachos had some more toppings like tomato, avocado, cilantro, and fresh jalapeños instead of pickled ones; caramelized onions would be a nice addition too. My favorite part of the meal was the lentil taco - the al pastor sauce in it had a nice kick to it and the bits of grilled pineapple worked perfectly. We also tried the oat milk horchata cocktail and really enjoyed it. Very boozy! Overall, we were happy to try some interesting vegan options. Some more flavorful sauces and use of spices and fresh veggies would really elevate the food.

Yelp
Love this place! Food is great from top to bottom including the desserts. The vibe inside is very chill. Two downsides were the drinks are shockingly small though good, but for the price it seems a little crazy. And then the ordering: you can sit at the bar but they make you order at the register? Despite them standing right in front of you. Will be back, and soon!

Chrissy E.

Yelp
I get taco party takeout every chance I can, and I don't think I will ever get tired of it. Their tacos are soooooooo good. I eat meat normally but these are still some of my favorite tacos I've ever had -- each one is so so flavorful and delicious. I usually go with the "two tacos + a side" meal and I'm also obsessed with their salad dressing, it's almost like an asian ginger sauce... highly recommend!

Brian K.

Yelp
Absolutely incredible tacos but the torta deserves praise too. Where have you ever seen a vegan torta? OK, where have you ever seen a vegan torta that was worth eating? I didn't get any pictures of mine because I couldn't wait to dig in. The food here rocks.

Jeff W.

Yelp
I barely know the difference between vegan and vegetarian- and, I've never had a taco without meat. But, the simple name hides a gourmet wonder. This is a party in your mouth. Owner, Keith, is a super cool dude, too.

Verouscka E.

Yelp
From the outside Taco Party is unassuming, but from the inside is full of character.Every time we visit the city of Boston it's a no brainer since the whole family ( even the non vegan) love it. We order two of each tacos . Todays winners chorizo tacos, and tofu tacos. The food is well priced. we love this place because the flavors are always on point and very consistent . FYI there's only street parking, so don't forget to bring quarters.

Tara B.

Yelp
Cute, clean, quality. Highly recommend. Also, not expensive! Only reason it is not getting a 5 because it is too salty (and I am not sensitive to salt).

Eugene X.

Yelp
Small little vegetarian taco place. Really enjoyed the vegan tacos. I personally ordered the crispy tofu, vegan chorizo, and tempeh tacos. They were a lot better than many other vegan tacos I've had. My dinner party ordered the sweet potato one and jackfruit ones and those were great too. Normally not a fan of jackfruit, but the avocado in the taco makes it a lot better. The prices are a bit steep at $4/taco, but that's mostly the price in this area for vegan food. I recommend trying their house spicy yellow sauce. It's delicious, but be warned it is hot!

Matthew V.

Yelp
Basically the coolest place in Somerville. Tacos are the best and this place has them!

Janice B.

Yelp
VEGAN TACOS Okay, a group of us were going out to stand-up comedy up the street at Bow Market and wanted some tacos before the gig. Half the group was vegetarian/vegan so this place was an incredible find. It's a small, storefront location with limited seating inside. Fortunately, it doesn't take long to eat a taco so the turnover was good and we were able to secure 2 tables to fit our group. They had a nice assortment of vegan soft tacos to choose from, from mild to spicy. Friendly waitstaff and we were served pretty quickly. They did have a display case of some vegan desserts, but the tacos satisfied us. Will have to try next time we're in the area. FYI: They didn't have a restroom in the restaurant. Had to go across the street to use a "shared restaurant restroom". As I said, the place is small.

Nupur M.

Yelp
Did a pit stop here for lunch, the food was amazing ! Loved the tofu taco , the torta's , and the chimichurri tempeh! Totally vegan, this place will be a pleasant surprise!

Tulshi P.

Yelp
As much as I enjoy vegan tacos, I felt this place could've been better in terms of décor and seating. It's counter service and they have a good selection of tacos, but somewhat overpriced. $4 per taco which is pretty small and not filling, and also not the best lunch option. It's more of a place to grab a small bite if you're in the area.

Thanh L.

Yelp
First off, if you want to be made to feel uncomfortable then come in with your phone on a gimbal. The cook in the back gave me dirty looks and ask if he was in my videos. I won't do that to anyone and I took video of the place to show my friend. It's very unprofessional to do that. Staff could of word a little different. Anyways, the place had a hipster feel. It was full of ugly bright colors. The tacos are a hit or miss. I like the jackfruit and tiki taco. Its pricey for veggie tacos. They are $4 something for one and the portions are small. We ordered 7 tacos and a side chips. Not filling at all. There was an ant on our tablet. Nothing about this place is special beside that its vegan tacos. They wont even be in my radar if they didn't do vegan. Just stay away. Its pricey for small portions. There bugs on the tables and staff are not friendly.

Leona C.

Yelp
What a great place to go for some delicious, cheap, and VEGAN tacos! I've tried almost every taco on their menu and I must say that I haven't been disappointed once. My favorite has been the tiki tacos! They also have a variety of vegan desserts which I have yet to try but on my next trip to Taco Party I am definitely going to have to try a few!

Fay C.

Yelp
These tacos honestly blow meat tacos out the water. Way more flavor in every bite...best tacos I've had outside of The West Coast. The Oat Milk Horchata is delish also. My favorites are: Chorizo Seitan (careful if you're sensitive to salt though) Chimchurri Tempeh Lentils Al Pastor I'm not a big Jackfruit fan but the Jackfruit Tinga Taco is good. And that's a lot coming from me because I don't mess with Jackfruit haha The only area of improvement I can think of would be the Nachos...they could use some more love & more toppings or at least the option to add toppings online. But again, can't go wrong with these tacos!

Elizabeth J.

Yelp
Amazing tacos best tacos on the east coast by far my only recommendation would be for more baked/non fried options overall and whilst using whole grains which we prefer in the taco shell

Sarah O.

Yelp
I was a little underwhelmed when I went here after having heard such good things. From what I tried, this is a perfectly adequate menu and probably a great spot for vegan tacos. I would probably come again despite the super casual digs, but I'm not in a rush to return.

Nick M.

Yelp
Fantastic tacos. Don't need to put vegan anywhere in here, because these things hold there own regardless. Great vibe, friendly, perfect spot for a couple of beers and some tacos! Dangerous that it's close by really....

L T.

Yelp
Wow...I just stumped upon this place. I was starving and this spot hit it on the nose, well stomach. For 10 bucks, 2 vegan tacos, rice and black beans. LOTS of flavor. I had the tofu taco and the tiki taco. DELICIOUS. Peeps give tofu a bad wrap but this was awesome, nicely seasoned before placed inside. Quite a few other taco selections too. The place is small inside..3 tables of 4, 4 bar stools and a bistro set outside. Friendly peeps that help you decide on the menu. The only reason why I didnt give it 5 stars was....1. They only had sparkling drinks and 2 unsweetened tea drinks and 2. The beans could benefit from being less dry. Other than that the place is a winner. I would go back

Jace F.

Yelp
What a cool niche spot for vegan noms amd taco lovers, alike! Taco Party has creative combinations of plant-based proteins and tasty toppings. The crispy tofu is dynamite, while the jackfruit is a meaty, juicy platform to soak up tropical, Asian flavors. The chimichuri tempeh is no slouch either, with a salty herbal infusion atop crisp accompanments. Try the nachos, too! While the place is tiny, dropping in for a two-pack is quick and easy. There's really nothing to knock Taco Party on, so enjoy!

Al J.

Yelp
As of my review the collective average is 4.5 stars and I'll go with the lower end of that. Pros - great selection of vegan items. Most taste good, not great. Standouts for us were the Chorizo, Lentils Al Pastor, and they had an empenada special that was quite good. Outdoor seating during covid. Cons / meh - Nachos, just not that great and pricey for what you get, Tofu Taco, also a letdown, cookie good/not great. Location in Ball Square isn't the easiest to get to esspecially lately. Don't my negatives dissuade you from visiting. It's good food at a decent price.

Nancy J.

Yelp
Being from LA makes me something of a Mexican food snob. Typically, I do not bother ordering tacos on vacation, unless I'm in Mexico (or a bordering state) But when my sister proposed getting tacos at an all vegan restaurant, I was in. The guy behind the counter was helpful, but we knew what we were going to get. The "one of each". Additionally, we got the chorizo cutlet torta. Brussels sprouts: I was most excited for the roasted brussels sprouts taco, but it wasn't as flavorful as I was expecting it to be. The roasted brussels were a little on the dry side. Chorizo seitan: this had good flavor, but all chorizo has good flavor. Chimichurri tempeh: I thought the sauce tasted a bit muddied. Fried tofu: this was one of the tastier ones. I was a fan of the mango salsa and cream sauce. Jackfruit: I love jackfruit anything and the bbq sriracha sauce was a nice touch. Sweet potato: surprisingly, this was my favorite of the bunch. The pickled red cabbage paired nicely with the sweet and creamy fried sweet potato. Torta: I liked this a lot, flavor-wise. We took this to-go so I was able to add extra avocado. The seitan cutlet had good flavor and texture. The house made bun was a little on the thicker side, so the ratio of filling to bread was a little bit off.

Audrey K.

Yelp
Great spot for a quick, delicious and healthy dinner! There isn't a ton of seating but within two minutes of walking in a couple tables opened up. I had the jackfruit and crispy tofu tacos with a side of rice and beans. The jackfruit would satisfy any meat lover - it was smoky and delicious. The crispy tofu had great crunch and the salsa was fresh and flavorful, probably the best fried tofu I've ever had! Tacos were good-sized, only need two or maybe three of you are really starving. I also loved that EVERYTHING was compostable - even the little basket liners!

Preeti R.

Yelp
I had the crispy tofu taco and the soy chorizo one! my favorite was the crispy tofu taco with mango salsa and it was great with a lot of flavor. I didn't even need taco sauce it was one of the best vegan and tofu tacos I have ever had - and I'm from sf!! High recommend for vegan taco lovers!

Daira R.

Yelp
Highly recommend! Not sure where to start - do I talk about the delicious food, the reasonable prices, or the fact that my carnivorous husband actually said he is looking forward to eating here again?! I more or less had to trade some weird in order to get him to agree to eat here for lunch ("is it even a meal if there is no meat protein?") and now he's pumped he tried it! We each got the two taco and one side deal for $10. I got the tofu taco and sweet potato taco with the chips and pinto dip, and the hubs got the chorizo and the chimichurri tacos with the rice and beans as a side. Holy guacamole (which I regret not getting) this was such a great meal! I'm conflicted between the tofu and the chimichurri as my favorites. The sweet potato taco tasted very strongly of cinnamon (or maybe nutmeg). It was good but not my favorite. The chips and pinto were bomb! The rice and beans - meh. Next time we won't get those. Shrug. After we ate I decided to go all in and get the peanut butter cookie. Dang it was COLD (but I guess I should have realized it was in a refrigerated case). It reminded me of your standard no-bake. Nothing much to say about to really - I won't get it again. Overall I can't wait to return and that $10 meal is a steal in Boston. Solid 4.5

D K.

Yelp
First time to this restaurant, the service is rude and Looks like a fast food restaurant, if you don't know you need to tip, the waitress will slam the food on the table and won't give you cutlery. You order at the counter and you have to tip before you get the food and service. Very disappointed, what a terrible place. While waiting for the food I was thinking of tipping cash at the end of the meal. But then the cashier waitress deliberately and rudely threw the food on the table with no communication and no cutlery to express her dissatisfaction. What is the point of tipping? Thank you so much for being rude to us? The food is not as good as the reviews say, I just came here to try it because of the good reviews. The food was horrible and the sauce tasted weird. Won't go again, waste of money, bad food and will make you feel bad. This is the worst restaurant I have ever come across!

Rachel S.

Yelp
Vegan tacos!! I brought my non-vegan friend out here to try some vegan tacos for the first time and we loved everything we ordered. The food isn't overpriced (it actually feels on the lower end of the price scale for Boston food) and it's so good. We each got two tacos and a side. I definitely recommend coming here for some vegan tacos and I can't wait to come back.

Bee E.

Yelp
I'd eat here every night if I lived closer. Pictured is the crispyy tofu tacos with a side of chips

Marissa R.

Yelp
I ordered the tofu tacos and while they were good, they definitely weren't mind blowing (read: don't come here if you want authentic Mexican tacos). There isn't a huge selection of choices, and I've definitely had better vegan tacos in the past. The texture of the tofu was PERFECT, but I didn't taste much flavor at all. The cream sauce was pretty bland, and the tofu by itself was unseasoned. The lettuce reminded me of Taco Bell lettuce (not sure if it wasn't fresh or if I was just distracted by the lack of flavor in the other ingredients). Also, the prices are a little high considering what you're getting. All that being said, I would come here again if I had a friend who really wanted to go, but I wouldn't go out of my way to come here, nor would I really recommend it to anyone in the area.

Elizabeth X.

Yelp
I ordered two, but wish I got ten. I went to bed thinking about these tacos, woke up considering the hour and 30 minute drive back to be their first customer of the day. 15/10

Stephanie W.

Yelp
This place is awesome. I love the crispy tofu taco, the salad, the tostadas that's you can get if you are lucky. The crispy tofu tacos are great.
