Great experience, was headed out of town and needed a quick bite before going. This place is fantastic. Servers are excellent and did not realize that it was Taco Tuesday and they let us know that we could add an extra taco! Umm, yes please!! And they did not disappoint. Sauce was amazing, just perfect. Different styles tasty, everything done correct,tidy,and spacious for the feast we had.

I was immediately greeted by the waiter and seated quickly (since there was plenty of open seats before those huge Friday night crowds engulf the streets). But overall the taste of the Pollo taco (with the ingredients) was amazing. Tender, juicy and the right amount of protein. The Baja taco….nice, light and crispy. Tasted fresh for sure, the cabbage and the poblano mayo was my favorite! The corn tortilla was the BEST CHOICE for both tacos. Now the seating reminds me of an old school dance hall (an adult high school cafeteria but family friendly…just don’t order any liquor). The bathrooms are clean (men’s bathroom). The place looks well maintained overall. Staffs and everyone are professional 100%. You can definitely bring a friend or 3, a date and family! Please support the locals!!

I wanted to love this place but it was so disappointing. We waited over 30 min for someone to take our order and when we did eventually get our food, it was dry and lukewarm. There are so many better taco trucks that are far worth the money than this place!

All the servers were nice. The food was top notch. The best tacos I’ve had in New York. They are very authentic. Like the ones in Mexico City. Try their Gobernador tacos. You have to ask the servers to come over and take your order. The good thing is that they are all happy and get along so you feel happy being there. You’ll love it. Don’t miss this taste of Mexico in NYC.

Superb food, hits all the taste buds and right spots every time. Very hearty and filling. The tostada has layers of guacamole, black beans, salsa, cheese, pickled onions and cilantro. The sweet potato tacos are also layered with beans and then topped up with cheese. They're generous with their fillings - love it. And their hot sauces are to die for. I visited their Fidi location a few weeks back and it was equally good.

Went on a Tuesday at 2pm and sat outside. Ordered three tacos and would rank them in this order of most deliciousness: crispy fish, pollo, seared fish. All would rank high and all were seasoned incredibly differently but all delicious. I can’t believe I’m saying this but I wish the service was slower. I ordered three tacos and a margarita. The chicken taco came out maybe in 4 mins later. I don’t want my tacos before my drink. I feel like they should know that. Otherwise the server was attentive and friendly. I want to specifically call out the quality of their tortilla. Each taco had generous meat and too much for the size of the tortilla. But the tortilla held the meat and sauce incredibly well. It wasn’t soggy nor did it fall apart.

Good, family-friendly taqueria on the Upper West Side. Tacos are decent sized and flavorful. Our favorite is the beef birria that come as 2 with their own hot dipping sauce. The drinks are fun and tasty. The prices seem reasonable for individual items, and then the check comes and you're like how'd it get that high? 😋🤔 Their corn comes in a cup rather than on the cob - tasty but I much prefer on the cob with the Mexican cheese. I didn't see much for someone trying to go low carb or salad-based.

Who knew good Mexican restaurants were in the upper west side!! This was an excellent taco spot and besides were delicious too! We loved the large guacamole, corn taste, and rice and beans. My favorite tacos were the Pastor and Carne Asada service was wonderful and we were seated quickly with lots of indoor options. Also, the pineapple aqua Fresca delicious. It ended up being a little more expensive than I had thought, but delicious nonetheless! If I ever find myself in the upper west side again will be stopping here

A steadfast neighborhood staple for tacos. A good deal any day or anytime, but especially good during buy-one-get-one taco Tuesdays and 4-6p weekday happy hours. Fried baja fish tacos and corn esquites are our favorites. Their handmade corn tortillas hold the menu together. Getting their chips and guacamole is luxurious and feels like a splurge. Try the drinks, too. They have bottles of their red, green, and smoked salsas at every table. It's spacious. The dining room spans almost half a block. For years they had a giant sidewalk/street shell dining area, but they just took it down in October 2024. The hosts and servers are always friendly and competent.

I was in the area and my kids and I were thirsty. We stumbled across Tacombi and when we walked in, the first thing we saw was, "JUGOS NATURALES". I would have settled for some pharmacy brand water but was excited to have some real fruit juices. The woman at the counter was very nice. My son and I picked the Jamaica (Hibiscus), and my daughter opted for the Piña. The piña is sweetened with bits of pineapple in it. I liked the flavor and she finished every drop. Be advised that the hibiscus is unsweetened, and is highly tart. I don't usually have added sugar to my drinks, and I love hibiscus so I welcomed the tartness. However, THIS hibiscus is legit, and very concentrated, so definitely add at least a few drops of agave to cut the tart. I still liked it but I definitely puckered lol It's funny, because I've never seen Tacombi before, and since we visited, I've seen one other a few days afterwards, during another trip to the city. Safe to say, I'll be in the lookout for this franchise I'm the future.

Ordered on Uber eats; the food came quick. They gave a good portion of food. The food was good but nothing to brag about.

I was meeting a friend of mine here for lunch. I told him that the tacos at Tacombi were really good and that I highly recommended them so he met me at a table by the window. The menu is unique because they give you pencils to mark what you want. You can also order a variety of tacos rather than only sets of one type. I ordered three different tacos with a variety of proteins to see which one I liked the best. The waiter was kind enough to take our picture together while he was taking our order. I hadn't seen my friend in a long while so I appreciated that. The tacos were really good and each bite was juicy and flavorful. There wasn't a single try bite or a bite that was too moist. The spices and flavors that were used were really good too. I would love to come back and try some of their other menu items. So far I've only tried the tacos during my visits but maybe I should try switching it up.

Tacombi is a cute, old school esque Mexican restaurant. We ordered the below: Rice & Beans Avocado Tostada Baja Crispy Fish Taco Sinaloa Shrimp Taco Black Bean & Sweet Potato Taco Watermelon Agua Fresca Hibiscus Agua Fresca The odd part was that even though not many tables were filled with customers, it was hard getting someone's attention. The drinks were quite bitter and I don't like sweet things, but that was a bit hard to swallow so we asked for agave. The food was good for what it was, an elevated version of Taco Bell and Los Tacos No. 1, but not the same energy as the taco trucks found in LA.

If you want really good tacos and margaritas, Tacombi is always a good choice. This is my second location I have visited (first being Empire State Building). Outdoor dining was a good choice. We decided to order a few items to share including the chicken quesadilla. By far my favorite item on the menu is the black bean and sweet potato taco. The Paloma was also great!

Tacos were okay. Portions were depressing Service was good I realized as soon as I got my first taco they make everything small so the photos look normal portioned but no salt on table was small, tacos were tiny, my mile was tiny, even the pencils on the table to order were tiny Won't come here again Too expensive for such small amount of food

Great staff, great atmosphere, great food! By no means the best tacos I've had in NYC but Tacombi 100% hits the spot after a long day. The birria tacos are delicious and fully of flavor and the al pastor pops with great flavor. The drinks were admittedly a bit of a let down as I was hoping for a really good marg and found it to be really ok. Otherwise a great experience!

Great little place for tacos and Authentic Mexican dishes. Local UWS neighborhood place on 78th and Amsterdam. Super casual and there's a nice space for outdoor seating. Great for families and it's so reasonable. Nice assortment of tacos not just beef and chicken. Fish tacos are excellent and so are the brisket tacos. Breakfast tacos are served all day. Happy Hour 4-7 Monday -Friday. Good Margaritas available single or by the pitcher. There are a few around the city and some locations around the country too.

The Brisket platter with rice and beans was good, it seems ordering a platter is the way to go here, the portion is way bigger than just the individual pieces.( individual tacos are miniscule) The roasted corn was ok, the shrimp taco was not fresh and the shrimp tasted rancid. I did not eat it other than one bite and spit it out. I also had stomach issues afterwards from just one bite or maybe it was all the food from here. I ordered on-line, the delivery came pretty fast and the food was still hot when it arrived. Food is expensive for the portions they serve, overall its not worth it, especially the rancid shrimp taco. I won't be ordering from here again.

Tried Tacombi on the recommendation of a friend, and it certainly won't be the last time I go back. To start, our group shared chips and some of the best guac I've ever had--it was AMAZING. Then got into the entrees and loved both the carne carne asada and al pastor tacos that I tried. The dishes are simple, but delicious. And while I didn't try a burrito, they looked delicious and were a decent size for the price. On top of the food, the staff was friendly and it's a fun little restaurant to have a group dinner in--one of the restaurants on the UWS that has a decent amount of indoor seating, plus a curbside coveted eating area.

Small but fantastic menu options with top notch guacamole. If you go between 4-7p they also have happy hour on select drinks! Also, the shrimp and asada tacos are to die for. Would definitely go again.

I love Tacombi and it is always a quick lunch/dinner spot with quick service. The food is always great- I love the fish taco and the beef Burria taco as well as the corn esquites. The only thing I don't love is how the tacos are pretty overpriced. My meal is usually around $25/person to actually be full. (2 tacos+corn+tip)

I was born and raised in Mexico and this is my honest opinion about this place: The ambiance actually took me to a taqueria back in my hometown. Loved the metal tables, the mosaic walls and the vibe inside and out at Tacombi. They did a good job making you feel you are in a real taqueria. I went with a group of girl friends all from different countries tho and they all were pretty happy with their food but me, maybe because the friend that took us told us it was probably as good as Tacos n1 but wasn't true at all. We tried a couple of things: what I was excited the most was the esquite corn, which was flavorless. The rice and beans, chips and guacamole were pretty good tho, really tasty!! In the other side, the pastor quesadilla was a fail. Didn't like the flavor of the pork, it tasted like really bad quality pork plus it was served with flour tortilla, they didn't give me the choice to pick. (In Mexico they only use corn tortilla) Finally, I got the taco asada which wasn't bad at all but it just looked like a sad poor taco with something missing. My friends ordered birria tacos which looked good but didn't get to try them. For the record; I liked that they came with the soup. Finally, we ordered a Margarita pitcher which saved the night. We paid 55 dls for it and we each got two drinks (8 total) and I'm pretty sure we could probably have had more if they wouldn't have added that much ice. It was an average margarita but I was happy w the price. The waitress was making sure our table was clean all the time and pouring us water continuously and cleaning dirty plates which we appreciated. The prices were normal compared to other taco places in New York. I would rate this place with only 3 stars because it was like one of those times you are so excited about something/going somewhere and you ended up being disappointed.

I pass this place often and it's always packed. Finally, I had a chance to try this place. I wanted to try anything but chicken. Steak, fried fish and Al pastor. So the food was okay nothing out of the ordinary. I've had better but I've also had worse. I'd say the service since it wasn't busy at all was good. We didn't require anything so she check with us once which was enough. We each tried their cocktails which were also okay. The fried fish taco was really nice, that's what the extra star was for. Again, it wasn't bad, it was like a lot of other street taco places.

The service here was the best part about the evening... The waiters, the kitchen staff, the hostess, they were all soooooooo incredibly nice, it shook us!!! Service was super fast, food was excellent!!!! Can't complain about anything, we loved it!!!! We had corn esquites, guacamoles and chips(totopos) and tacos, everything tasted freshly made and flavorful!!! Will definitely be back to this location in the future, my now favorite Tacombi!!!!

Amazing food and a great atmosphere. We tried a bunch of different tacos on our first night in town and while the options are endless in NYC, we are trying to figure out how to come back for another meal.

I got the guac & chips, quesadillas, and tacos. The atmosphere is nice, the food comes out quickly, and the food is fairly decent for the price. Not the best tacos/quesadillas that I've had, but the service was efficient and the servers were friendly. I enjoyed the Al pastor quesadilla the most.

If you are looking for some solid tacos on a huge space, look no further. This is the place you wanna be. My faves are definitely the Al Pastor and Fish (deep fried) tacos. They're easily the best they have, hands down. Service is efficient and prices just right (for New York). 4.25 stars.

Food is great, but delivery order has been wrong the last 3 times I ordered - what's in the bag didn't match what was on the receipt, an obvious problem at the restaurant, not with the delivery person.

Tacombi, Tacombi, Tacombi... why did it take me so long to eat here. Settled here on a Friday night with a few friends to catch up. Tacos authentic AF. Ben, our waiter, always knew what we needed before we even asked. The Managing Partner, Matt, introduced himself and made sure we were all set and threw in a round of drinks on him when he caught my friend with birthday pin on his blazer. We realized it was getting packed and just moved over to the bar for a little bit cause we didn't want to leave yet. We ended up staying another hour or so with Yuderkis the bartender and just shooting the shit. Great time, light and fun atmosphere. Will def come back again!

I was in the neighborhood and was in the mood for fish tacos and I knew that this place definitely had it so we decided to stop by. I have been to other Tacombi's but never at this location. This location was pretty large with both outdoor and indoor seatings. They check vaccination cards and your temperature when you come in. We arrived around 11 am on a Saturday and there were plenty of empty seats. The staff was super nice and friendly. Sadly I did find the food a bit lackluster. We decided to get: -Gacu with chips: not bad; but nothing too special. The chips were seasoned but the guac was nothing special but cannot really go wrong with this. -Corn Esquites: Super bomb - definitely my favorite dish from here. It is pretty much mexican corn without the cob - so flavorful and a nice kick of spice. -Al pastor tacos: These were okay; a bit dry but the flavor was decent -Baja fish taco: I was most excited for this but it was pretty disappointing. The fish was super crispy on the outside but it did not taste very fresh on the inside. I was not a huge fan and I definitely had better fish tacos in other places. Overall - not my favorite taco place and I would likely pass on this place in the future.

I was feeling like Mexican food and I really honestly can't believe I hadn't eaten here before I moved back here. With 3rd party delivery, I generally do not order tacos because they are not as good or hot as when you have them fresh. So, at first I really wanted a quesadilla but the al pastor quesadilla isn't served with pineapple (only the platters or the tacos itself). I decided to get two al pastor tacos and a small guac and chips. I also added on pico de gallo and the red chile salsa. My food arrived and as I expected, the tacos were not hot. However, they were DELICIOUS. I added a squeeze of lime, and dollops of the red salsa and a green salsa which came with it. The meat was so tender and seasoned really well. The tortilla didn't fall apart, which was a good thing. It was served with cilantro and diced onions and a small slice of pineapple. My only qualm is that I wish they gave more pineapple and onions on it. The tacos were a little messy but I honestly didn't care. The chips were ok, not my favorite variety (stone ground corn, so crunchy but not what I typically enjoy). The guac was very good, creamy but could use a little heat. Probably one of the best pico de gallo, they put diced jalapeno in it which to me is important in pico de gallo. I would absolutely order from here again. So happy that they have a location on LI, even if its a little far from me.

Disappointing Taco Tuesday. It was National Margarita day and Taco tuesday so after visiting the museum nearby we ventured to Tacombi. Sadly Tacombi had no specials this day. There wasn't even a promotion for the day. Major bummer. I have been to the other tacombi location and was hoping my experience would be better than last but ehh nope, still the same. The food was just ok. Very dry and missing things. I ordered the corn, a carnita quesadilla and a chicken taco. My date had the chicken burrito. The corn was ok. Not the elote in a cup im a fan of. Taco was dry and I had to ask for hot sauce to give it flavor. The quesadilla was good. The chicken burrito was so dry. It could not even be finished. There was no sauce in it. It felt so lack luster. The ambiance could be better. No lively music. The decor needs to change as well. All in all . I will stick to my fav taco spot in the city Los Tacos No1.

Did a catering order and received only one bottle of sauce, as opposed to the three sauces I was advised would accompany 60 tacos. The reason the manager gave me for this was that the restaurant had only one bottle that wasn't open. This was despite visiting the restaurant in advance and also confirming the order the day before. Had I been informed in a timely manner, I could have bought some sauces in advance. The toppings were skimpy on the tacos as well. Basically, there was no care or accountability for the order. Strongly not recommended for catering.

What a really good restaurant to include in our Empire State Building tour package! There is nothing like having tacos and margaritas after going to the very top of this historic landmark! Everything was good. No complaints. Just a lot of fun, drinks, and a lunch that will make your mouth water for more. I liked the simplicity of the dishes. Nothing too fancy. Nothing infused with anything. Just a little taste of authentic Mexican treats. The servers also made the experience fun. If you are in the area, drop by and have lunch. Order a drink for me as I head back to the Windy City.

The Food was incredible . We had the crispy fish and seared fish tacos. So goooddd. We also had guacamole and the corn esquite. 10/10 . Oh and the shrimp tacos has a crispy layer of cheddar in it! Also 10/10 . The restaurant is very spacious and has a nice big outdoor seating area for the nice weather coming up . Coming back for cinco de mayo. Matt the manager was very accommodating

Keepin it real out here in UWS I might be biased but i had these tacos (take out) at about 10PM, skipped dinner and ate those so they were really good from what i remembered. Decent sized tacos and the sauces made a different. Seemed and tasted fresh. Not sure if i'll visit again but was solid from what i remembered.

Best egg breakfast taco I use to order it every day. The they took it off Uber eats and I haven't ordered from here ever since It's the best think they have

This is my second poor review in 3 months. The last time I decided to dine in, the server ignored me so I left. I am back in NYC this week and decided to do takeout. The food had solid flavors, as usual but it was lukewarm to cold (5 min walk to hotel) and they forgot my utensils (clearly on the order and my receipt). This will be my final visit. Such a shame because the food is really good, but the other things are also important. Please improve!!!

I went to this restaurant with my GF and the staff were clearly service professionals, but even more than that. They were kind in a way that made me feel like family almost. The food was AMAZING! Everything was cooked to perfection and this is definitely saying something seeing as how I am the pickiest eater I know. The chicken and steak were chefs kiss for sure. Definitely come here with the family if you get an opportunity. Nothing short of delicious and pleasant.

I decided to host happy hour here to celebrate Valentine's Day with my friends over some margaritas, nachos and guacamole and I chose the perfect venue . We all live in the UWS, the restaurant has the perfect ambiance - fun , lively , colorful and it's good for groups . We were greeted with an attentive hostess who gave us the option of sitting at our table or wait at the bar until others came . We opted for the bar and enjoyed a few margaritas from the happy hour menu $9. I had minimal food but the ones we tried that catered to everyone's dietary needs were good ( ie. Mushroom quesadilla , carnitas tacos and my favorite the nachos and guacamole).

Loved this place so much! Yelp suggested it after trying to find an affordable place to eat after a trip to the Met. My friend had heard good things about it so we trekked across the park, it's not far from the edge of it. In a part of the upper west side where everything seems to be increasingly more expensive, it's not at all bad and a really great experience as a whole. The restaurant itself has amazing decor and a great aesthetic that you can tell they worked hard to curate. You can either order directly or mark what your table wants on the slips of paper they pass out. We ordered a breakfast taco, sweet potato/black bean taco, a fish taco, and a carnitas taco, and esquites on the side. The esquites were pricey but delish, and the sweet potato taco was slightly skimpy, but everything else was great. The fish taco was something I rarely order but something pushed me to get it and it was the best thing we had! Would love to come back here.

Super cute atmosphere and decor. A nice fast/casual place with a large venue. Great for larger parties as they can push tables together for anyone. Was able to get pitchers of margs for the group, guac, and various tacos. I personally had carnitas, fish, and sweet potato. Surprisingly liked the sweet potato a lot but the star of the show was the fish. Very crispy and great sauce. Overall, very good and recommend.

Ordered take out on a Saturday in a pinch when they were about to close. All the foods have those great Mexico City flavors on point, the tortillas the best I've tried in the 22 years I've lived abroad. Service was kind and efficient, pleasant employees who offered a warm and dynamic ambiance while we waited for our food (Al Pastor Tacos, Pastor Gringa y Esquites).

I tried the black bean and sweet potato taco, avocado tostada, and the vegetarian quesadilla. They were all pretty average in flavor. This is an alright option for a quick lunch during the workday.

I believe Tacombi is doing great in the way they hire their staff. My first experience with Tacombi was at their location at 79th street and Amsterdam Ave. Their manager was a Latino man, who I observed going out of his way a few times to help on the floor and to greet customers even delivery workers. Unfortunately I do not remember his name but he must still be there since he does an amazing job. At this establishment, I ate both a chicken and steak quesadilla. The chicken and steak were flavorful and it is something that I would definitely order again. I also visited Tacombi on 70th street between Third and Second Ave. This time, I only went for a beer but I observed their hostess working the floor while taking care of the delivery workers. Every interaction was completed with effectiveness and a smile. Kudos to Tacombi and their belief in customer service.

This is pretty simple. This was some of the worst service we've ever gotten in recent days, which is saying a lot, especially since there may have been about three tables at the time, and at least double or triple the staff. We I'm not even sure what our server was actually serving since pretty much the only time we saw her is when she had the difficult task of picking up the paper from our table to put the order in. And even that she seemed annoyed to do. We had to get up a few times to ask for things like a straw or silverware or beverages ... The backwaiters were awesome. Friendly. Attentive. The managers were hanging out over at the door with the host. But it was very annoying that our server was literally not doing much except talking with the other servers and not attending to the floor. We were missing things. An item we got was wrong. Food is typical Tacombi, but not up to par with other Tacombi's. Suffice it to say, we will probably not be back to this one even though one of us works literally a block from here.

Love the avocado tostadas! I was in town for 4 days and ate here twice because I couldn't leave without enjoying the food one more time. The Taco Gobernador is very tasty and I loved the carne asada tacos too. I don't recommend the carnitas since my taco was dry. A complaint I have is that I ordered a Diet Coke knowing it would be $3.98, but I didn't know it would be one of those little bottles. Not a full size. A tad sneaky but otherwise I definitely recommend this restaurant.

Excellent Mexican style cuisine. More like tapas sized dishes. Good quality preparation. Nice ambience and very pleasant staff. I would definitely go back.

Wonderful experience on one of the hottest days of 2023. The portion size was perfect. All the items tasted very fresh. The watermelon and hibiscus aqua's were the best on this hot day. The Al Pastor & Beef Birria Tacos were so good topped off with some rice and beans to compliment the lunch. I really felt comfortable here and the service was good. They also have Happy Hours Monday through Friday from 4-7pm. Ice cold beers, fresh margaritas and more. They have outdoor seating, but the indoor area was cool and I really felt like I had just pasted through to South of the Border.

I'm so glad we finally got to check this place out. It is SO CUTE. The service was amazing and I loved being able to write my order on the menu. The food came out so quickly and everything was so tasty and authentic. The piña and hibiscus tea were SOO GOOD. But most importantly, the fish tacos. They are seriously next level they're soooo delicious. The batter, the freshness of the fish, the crema! YUM. Definitely will be coming back.
