A modern taquería admired by local critics for vegetable‑driven tacos and sharp salsas. Recognized in recent statewide taco coverage, it’s a compact, high‑energy stop for mezcal and creative bites near Five Points.

This was a modern twist on Mexican food however, the food was pretty damn amazing. I went on script with this place and ordered a mushroom taco. The Mexican corn with all the fixings. Deep fried green beans. Everything tasted great if we were ever in town you need to stop and visit return factor 100% never been happier. I gave them four stars simply because you have to stand outside and order. Try to get there between lunch and dinner otherwise it’s a pretty long line.

Flavor Explosion at Taconeta! My friends and I (a group of five) recently visited Taconeta, and we all tried different dishes — which made the experience even better. Every bite was packed with flavor; the combinations they use are creative and absolutely explode in your mouth. It’s clear they know how to balance bold and fresh ingredients. I ordered the Baja fish taco and the grilled corn. The fish taco was fantastic — crispy, flavorful, and just the right amount of spice. The grilled corn was tasty too, though I think it could’ve been grilled a little more for that extra charred goodness. The service was great and the food came out fairly quickly, especially considering there was a long line when we arrived. Totally worth the wait. If you’re looking for a spot that delivers big on flavor and a fun, laid-back vibe, Taconeta is a must-try!

Google
Hands down the BEST TACOS I've ever had. I came in from VA, and we don't get tacos like this over there. They were so full of flavor, super unique, and many flavors and things to choose from. Some people would disagree with the al cart, but I think that's perfectly fine, especially if you wanted to try one of each. Would definitely come back again when I visit!!

Google
Decent tacos. We had a variety of tacos there and also the sweet potato appetizer/side. My favorites were the seafood ones (fish and shrimp). The meat ones were okay, they were lacking a bit in flavor and the texture was a bit too dry for me. The sweet potato appetizer was unique and different, which made it fun to eat. Loved the ambiance and setting.

Google
The food was delicious, and I will return if I find myself in the area again. I only wish the carnita taco didn't come with sliced marinated carrots, as it threw off the flavor 😕. Service is good, but kinda odd that you order outside, in the heat, when there is often a long line. I saw ceiling fans, but they were not on. The serving boats/paper trays are also unusual as the food deserves to be elevated. Putting the tacos together as ordered would also be nice instead of having to move them around when they get to the table. The shrimp quesadilla should definitely be in a larger boat instead of the small one to avoid losing any filling since it hangs over the side of the boat. The place is nice but the music is a bit loud for casual conversation. The music should be a bit more upbeat instead of being sad, almost depressing music.

Google
Taconeta was a great find in El Paso. The brisket and chicken tacos were delicious, flavorful, and well-seasoned. I really enjoyed the corn tortilla, though I wish they doubled up on it since it kept falling apart. The elote was very tasty and a great side to the meal. The highlight was the cucumber lime drink. It was super refreshing and perfect for a hot day. There was a bit of a wait to order, but the food came out quickly. Definitely worth a visit.

Google
From the moment we arrived, the staff was very attentive and welcoming. Our drinks and food were brought out promptly, and everything was served just right. The flavor and quality of the food were excellent. I asked for the corn on the cob to be soft and tender, and it was prepared exactly as requested. Everything met — and even exceeded — our expectations. Highly recommended. We’ll definitely be coming back.

Google
A complete Vibe! You order before you sit down. There are outside and inside seating options and a parking lot right next to the restaurant. I tried the Tempura Mushroom taco which was amazing! It did have a kick to it so next time I’d opt out of that part. I also tried the Carnitas taco and that was my favorite that I had to go back and order a 2nd. My daughter has the shrimp cocktail and they did not skimp on toppings and shrimp, 10/10. She also had a taco de Suadero and liked it. I did get the elote in a cup which was too hard for my liking so I’d skip that next time. Very cool atmosphere with relaxing music and very vibrant decor. A complete MUST if you are in the area!

Yelp
Exceptional tacos and agua frescas! There was a line around the building when we arrived on a Friday night (for good reason), and you order at the window before sitting inside or outside. Casual vibes, and each individual food item came out as it was ready. I was blown away by the perfect seasoning on everything- all the meats, the sauces, and the handmade tortillas. The Baja shrimp and carnitas tacos were so tasty! I also loved the hibiscus agua fresca, and my husband's horchata was the best I've ever tried. Would absolutely recommend- it's very much worth the wait!

Yelp
If you want to go to a hipster place in El Paso for tacos, then I would recommend! Casual ordering at the window and there is self seating. The employees were extremely welcoming and provided great service. I found this place on Maps and saw that it had great reviews, so we made a stop for a small dinner just to try it! The employee who took my order at the window was very friendly. Tried the seasonal taco which was a chipotle marinated Jamaica (vegan), suadero, carnitas and the crispy ejotes. Presentation of the tacos were spot on. The corn tortillas were super pretty- half pink color, reminded me of the watermelon colored radish. Each taco had their own sauces or guac and because it was all flavored and seasoned well, it didn't even need the salsa! But top your taco off with salsa for a kick!! My favorite was the suadero but my partner liked the carnitas best since it was fatty. The jamaica was very good too! It had a smokey flavor from the chipotle! It reminded me of jackfruit. The crispy ejotes was A LOT for 2 people. We kind of regretted getting it because our bodies couldn't handle eating that much fried food for dinner. But it was delish! If you have at least 3 people, then get it! It was packed when we went inside to fund seating. An employee approached us as he saw us looking for a table and said we could have one of the tables that was occupied since he was helping them move over to a bigger table.

Yelp
I had heard about Taconeta from a friend a fee years back but never had a chance to try it (I live 9 hours away lol). We were able to order take out when we were in town for Thanksgiving and I am now regretting not visiting earlier ! I had one of their Baja Fish Tacos and OH MY GOD, they were so flavorful! I loved their home made tortillas as well. The slaw and the mayo paired perfectly with the fish and I loved that the breading stayed crispy, even on a takeout order ! Fantastic taco for sure ! I was also able to try their Grilled Elote and OMG, I was wishing I would have ordered two! The elote was definitely the stand out for me ! It was grilled perfectly but still super juicy! The spice was a nice kick, nothing too overpowering. I can't talk about the ambiance since we didn't really eat there, but it looked like a very chill place. Kind of like people go and hang out there for some good tacos and drinks. Can't wait to go back!

Yelp
I came with a larger group but this place is best for like a smaller group. We ordered our food together yet each taco came out one by one even before the order the finished. The aesthetics are amazing. The tacos were good but the elote is what stood out to me. It was amazing. Definitely tasty.

Yelp
Fun times tasting the El Paso Mexican fare. This location was next to a coffee shop and had a private parking lot on its opposite side. It has indoor and covered outdoor seating. When we got there for a later dinner it was almost busy...we ordered and then a line formed at the counter. I think Liz ordered one of everything. She came back with two refreshing and delicious margaritas. The tacos and elote were great. We had a lot. The aguachile de camaron was light and spicy. Billed as shrimp in a spicy cucumber lime juice, with ginger, Serrano, and cilantro, garnished with avocado and pickled onion. Really good, not filling at all. My favorite taco was Baja shrimp, but I also enjoyed the suadero. The suadero taco was a preserved brisket with cilantro and onion. The baja shrimp was a tempura fried shrimp with cabbage slaw and a Chile mayo drizzle. I enjoyed an elote on a stick (and I'm a cup). By the bite or by the spoonful, every bite tasted of chili powder, lime and corika cheese. It was a wonderful experience at taconeta.
google avatar

Marie G.

Yelp
So I will be fair and come back to try their carnitas tacos again...but each taco had meat that had a tiny piece of bone in it. If I had bit down harder I would have cracked my tooth.

Yelp
Insanely delicious! Admittedly, I was a bit skeptical about waiting in line because I always feel nervous when it comes to how much longer I can go without food. Thankfully I was distracted with my friends in line and it may have taken about 30 mins or so. i do love how it's a pretty efficient system. They take your order at the window and you take your number to a table. They then find your number to deliver your order. We probably waited another 10ish minutes before food started coming in. We started with the tempura green beans and shrimp cocktail. So good!! I can tell they're trying to get the green beans out too fast though because I noticed the stems were still on the beans. They're definitely not edible so I ended up trying to eat everything but that part. Tacos were amazing! I tried their baja shrimp, mushroom, and El Teofilo which is shrimp and cheese. They all come with green and red hot sauce which are perfect. I also tried their pepino agua fresca and it went perfectly with everything. Fun atmosphere outdoors with even more fun decorations inside. The music isn't too loud neither so it made for a perfect night with friends! Can't wait to come back.

Yelp
Great atmosphere and authentic Mexican tacos! We had brisket tacos, a fish taco and Ebote (probably not the right word... corn in a cup with loads of goodies). Definitely worth the try. Very reasonable prices too!

Yelp
My husband and I tried this place for the first time as takeout. We ordered the suadero taco, the pollo taco, the baja shrimp taco, the el teofilo taco and the shrimp cocktail. While he enjoyed the flavors of the tacos he was disappointed that they were in regular corn tortillas and not blue. Small thing, but all the menu pics show blue. He particularly enjoyed the crunchy cheese on the el teofiIo! I ate the shrimp cocktail, which was very generous with the shrimp and had a decent flavor to the sauce. Not outstanding, but good. The tostadas, however, tasted like cardboard and I ended up grabbing some chips from the supermarket in the pantry. Overall would try again! Maybe in the restaurant instead of takeout, although the menu online confusingly seems to say some dishes, such as the baja shrimp, are takeout only. Overall, despite some hiccups, we were very pleased with our meal.

Iris T.

Yelp
So good!! The Baja shrimp may be my favorite taco ever and my husband loved the suadero taco. We also got a teofilo taco and a Baja fish taco which were both great, and the elote en vaso (which was ok), grilled sweet potato (delicious) and tempura green beans (great snack). Great vibes inside and the servers are so nice and helpful in finding you a table. The food comes one at a time, but is super quick!!

Zach B.

Yelp
Some of the best tacos I have ever eaten. Quick and friendly customer service. I would highly recommend for anyone visiting looking for an authentic taco shop
google avatar

Yelp
Super yummy! You order food on the outside and then find a spot indoors or outdoors. If you're inside, it does feel like a club with the fluorescent colored lights. It's a vibe for sure, but probably not a chill dinner night vibe. The only thing I wouldn't order again is the elote. I just thought the corn felt undercooked and crunchy.

Yelp
Amazing service, delicious food, and a really cool place, this was a highly recommended spot that we had to try out during our time in El Paso. It was a bit confusing to find at first since the block is a collection of stores, but once we saw the outdoor seating and ordering window we figured it out. It was quite busy for early evening on Friday so we sat at the bar, which was fun because we got to watch everyone (and there were lots) come by to get food and drinks. We started with the tostadas, which were just packed with guacamole, seeds, and raisins and were super flavorful - I was surprised by how much the raisins added to it; We also got 4 tacos, which weren't the biggest but were really good. And the sweet potatoes that were charred and nicely seasoned. Our bartender was very helpful in offering different mezcal and letting us try some things somewhat local to the area and we really appreciated and liked it all.

Yelp
First time here, their tacos selection is different from what I have ever had but they were yummy. The Baja shrimp was my favorite. I also ordered an esquite (corn on a cup with butter, cheese, mayo and chile) it didn't have much flavor and was extra buttery. I also tried the cucumber michelada, very unique and refreshing. It was a busy afternoon but our food came out fast. The staff was friendly.

Yelp
Hands down my favorite place to eat in all of El Paso. Not only is the entire aesthetic Instagram worthy but their whole menu is drool worthy! Seriously. I haven't hand a single thing there that I didn't like. I'm not normally a seafood person but catch me ordering their Baja shrimp AND their El Tiofilo tacos because they're absolutely delicious. Then I might even round it out with a suadero taco because who doesn't want brisket on their taco? Now, I can't talk about their food without mentioning their amazing sides. My personal favorite side is the grilled sweet potato spears. They have this amazing sauce drizzled over them with pumpkin seeds on top to add a little crunch. So darn good! The tempura green beans are also very good! And, If you're an elote fan, you can choose to have it on the cob or in a cup. The stars of the show though are their margaritas. They pair their unique agua fresca flavors with mezcal to make a wonderful smoky margarita. My two favorites are the Carrot Ginger Pineapple and the Jamaica (Hibiscus).

Yelp
First stop in El Paso and we found a little hipster gem. Things to know - their parking lot of super full so street parking is recommended - you can order at the window and seat your self or have full service at the bar - bottles of wine are available for takeout! Pour it up!! - ask about grilled options on some of their fried items; they can accomodate - the price is right! (especially for this cali girl) with the most expensive food item costing you around $9 USD The vibe is casual, cool and the staff is very accommodating. I also love the decor. It's industrial and earthy. And the playlist is great, hence why this place is so cool. We ordered the Grilled Shrimp Baja, the mushroom, the Saudero and Carnitas tacos. The server also recommended the green beans and sweet potatoes as shareable. Everything was really tasty but the aftertaste I'm walking out with is that we had a great experience.
google avatar

Jacquelyn T.

Yelp
The carnitas taco was stuffed and amazing! The elote was good, not the best ever. Visited on a Saturday, and they were BUSY, but there is plenty of seating and the food came out fast. It's a noisy place, but that's part of the ambiance. Note: You walk up to an outside window to order, then go find a table. They have indoor and outdoor seating.
google avatar

Yelp
El Paso is often viewed as the proclaimed capital for tacos. Then Taconeta reign supreme as one of the greatest ambassadors of tacos ! The service is absolutely exceptional with a dedicated team that is really enthusiastic about what they do. They always go out of their way to serve. Today, I ventured into the fresh and delicious Tostada Chepe! This is also known as the tostada campechana meaning a mix of cod fish and shrimp ceviche tossed in a limey savory sauce made with toasted chilies and served with guac, pico, pickled red onion, cucumbers and black sesame seeds. It's the perfect bite for Easter as it is pure deliciousness. The restaurant is often packed which confirms that the Juarez and El Paso community know where to find great tacos treasures!
google avatar

Diane M.

Yelp
Good food. No real service other than delivering food to your table. There's just food runners so I don't know what the tip is for. I had the pepino drink and it was good. Mushroom taco was my fave for sure. Really nice ambiance! Unique modern Mexican style and setup is very casual with you ordering at a little window. I would return! Parking lot is small but there's a bigger lot across the street.

Yelp
Taconeta is located on Montana Avenue between North Stanton and North Kansas Street. Considering that Taconeta is located close to downtown El Paso, it is pro that they have a nice free parking lot. Taconeta's concept is that you order and pay at the counter before you sit. You choose your table, and they bring the food to you. If the restaurant is too busy, you may also sit at the bar and order from the bar. Taconeta sells tacos and other "South Mexican-style foods." I was impressed by how many vegetarian-friendly dishes they have. I ordered the Watermelon Mezcal Margarita. The Mezcal Margarita was potent, okay flavor, but I didn't love the chili rim. After the margarita, I ordered "Agua de Jamaica" (Hibiscus Tea); it was very sweet and good. I ordered a chicken taco, suadero, carnitas, and Baja Fish Taco. I enjoy them all, but if you are from South Mexico and expect those authentic flavors, they are not exactly as titled. The taco I enjoyed the most was the Baja Fish Taco. They served the Tacos with two sides of Salsas, Green and red; both were flavorful. The red Salsa is mild, and the green is extra spicy. I also ordered an "Elote" (Corn on the Cob), which was good. Personally, all the food had way too much cheese, but I still enjoyed it. The restaurant has beautiful Mexico City-like decor, and they play Spanish Rock. I enjoyed my time there. I will definitely come back.
google avatar

Tiam L.

Yelp
Did you know the Jersey Shore crew ate here while they were in town? Well if you didn't, now you know. I wanted to try this spot out after I saw them eat here because the food looked amazing. We were definitely not disappointed. We ordered lots of tacos, elote, and tempura green beans. They also had horchata that was amazing too. I should have gotten the larger size! I think my favorite was a tie between the brisket and the chicken taco. But honestly if I could have I would have just ordered the entire menu. Taconeta has a great vibe and atmosphere. You can sit inside or on their patio once you place your order at the window. Everyone was super kind and welcoming as well!
google avatar

Yelp
What a culinary jewel! I seldom write a review. Many years ago, I owned two restaurants so I am very critical. I came from Las Cruces two days in a row. I discovered Taconeta, what a jewel. I was so impressed by the ambiance, service, the food quality and presentation that I went back my second day. The Baja fish taco is as good as when I lived in Cabo. I also had a Mushroom Taco and Shrimp Aguachile. On my second visit, I repeated the same and had a Cactus Pear Agua Fresca. I will be my place to eat on my visits to El Paso.
google avatar

Alyssa N.

Yelp
INCREDIBLE If you're lucky enough to try the cauliflower tacos, you will become addicted. I also really, really liked the mushroom tacos. As for drinks, they're all amazing. The slushy margarita has beet and ginger with a tajin rim. But you can also get a classic with a salt rim that is just as strong and delicious. The side of sweet potato is a MUST. They're so good I refused to share. The fried green beans are so great, but the sauce really takes them over the top. I did share this one but only because the serving was massive. The fresh juices never disappoint. You order in line outside then get seated so don't be alarmed when you see people waiting outside. You will likely have to wait a short time, but the line is typically fast. Make time to try Taconeta
google avatar

Diana E.

Yelp
We sat at the bar and our server was friendly! The elote and sweet potato are what made this place 5 stars for me. They have a great selection of margaritas featuring mezcal. The tacos are good but nothing out of this world. I feel like they can do a bit more with the tortillas given that they are made there. As a girl I was loving the pink tortilla!
google avatar

Daniel G G.

Yelp
I was in El Paso for a conference and met with local friends for lunch. They know I like trying new places when I visit, and they suggested Taconeta. The menu looked fresh, diverse, and the photos looked tasty. I had the feeling I would get a meal that would satisfy and without being overwhelming. I ordered two tacos: Suadero Taco: Brisket Confit, Salsa Goku, Guacamole, Onions and cilantro. Pollo Taco: Achiote Marinated Grilled Chicken, Guacamole, Onion, Cilantro. I also ordered Mexican-Style Shrimp Cocktail: With Tomato, Clam Juice, Avocado, Cilantro, Cucumber, and Poached Shrimp. Served with Tostadas. I took the bartender's suggestion for my drink and had the Pepino Lime Agua Fresca. It went great with the food and helped bring down the El Paso heat! The only negative is the salsa wasn't hot. I like some spice in my tacos. We went during lunch time and sat at the bar, it made conversation difficult. I prefer a quieter atmosphere. Overall, I would visit again and try more items on the menu. Pick a quieter time and wait for a table. I wish I could remember the bartender's name; he was so cool.
google avatar

Allison Z.

Yelp
Three words, authentic, delicious and affordable! You order outside at a window and then may pick a seat inside or outdoors. Great ambiance and great food.
google avatar

Aaron S.

Yelp
First time coming here, the service was start forward. Easy to order and fast. Friendly as well. You can expect to pay around 3-5$ per taco. The tacos aren't that big. But, for someone who eats a lot, I think you should be fine with 3 tacos. I tried the mushroom, chicken, and beef. I was disappointed with the mushroom taco. I really enjoyed the chicken and beef taco, overall good tacos. I spent 14$ for everything. I would say it's kind of expensive for the amount of food you are getting. But, overall I believe it place you should give a shot. Lots of decorations. Esthetic vibes. I would recommend
google avatar

Mia M.

Yelp
Had a fantastic experience here! The tacos were absolutely delicious, packed with flavor, and the service was excellent. We chose to sit outside, and the ambiance was perfect for a relaxed meal. Highly recommend this spot if you're looking for great food and a pleasant atmosphere!
google avatar

Melanie B.

Yelp
If you're ever in El Paso, you need to get some tacos from Taconeta! Orders are placed at a window outside and drinks are given to you at that time. Food is delivered to the tables. There is seating inside and outside and the vibe is cool. The service is super efficient and the staff are friendly. It appears to be a very popular place! The line can get long, but the service is quick so the line moves. I'd go back again!
google avatar

Kim W.

Yelp
Food was so incredible! And the service was fast and friendly, we will definitely be coming again!
google avatar

Laura Z.

Yelp
This place has a lot of potential but failed to live up to my expectations. It's annoying having to order your food outside after waiting in a long line then having to fight for seating which isn't guaranteed. The Michelada was ok, though I couldn't really taste the beer and we didn't get to choose the beer. Our favorite items were the carnitas taco and the shrimp taco. They have a taco on the menu called the "suadero" taco which actually ended up being dry and tasteless brisket. Stay far away from the seafood at all costs. The aguachile was made with overcooked boiled shrimp instead of lime juice and the ceviche just tasted of ketchup and vinegar. Really it was one of the worst mariscos I've ever had. The decor was nice, good vibe, great service, ok drinks, terrible food.
google avatar

Mariam T.

Yelp
I love this place I come here all the time but so far with my experience today was disappointing...I recently visited Taconeta today and was shocked by the unacceptable behavior of one of the server. Despite explaining that my boyfriend was ordering food outside while I secured a table, the server yelled at me for sitting down first. His tone was completely unprofessional and made me feel unwelcome. A simple, polite question like "Have you ordered yet?" or "Can I take your order? would've sufficed. Poor customer service.

Matthew S.

Yelp
Cool place near downtown with freshly made corn tortillas and a good drink selection. My favorites were both versions of their shrimp tacos (the Baja fish was also good). The sudadera shredded brisket taco was a bit disappointing but still not bad (I would go to a bbq place over here for brisket ones). My daughter really liked the chicken achiote tacos. For sides, the elote cocktail was good, but I did not care for much for the corn on the cob version (spices were a bit off). Beers, cheladas, aguas frescas, and tequila were all on point. Seating can get crowded here as there is not much space, but the staff works hard to turn tables and give good service. Prices are reasonable. This place is definitely worth a try!

John W.

Yelp
Had my two elderly handicap parents with me, including military veteran. Parked in handicap spot with handicap tag, got out their walkers. Sat them down in an empty booth so I could go order and they kicked us out because our order was too far back on the line. Simply shameful behavior. Can't recommend. Wish I could rate the restaurant lower.
google avatar

Jenny R.

Yelp
Food was fast and great! Vibe is chill, order your food take a number and sit, they bring it over. Service was nice. Drinks were good.

Arely L.

Yelp
Food was great, service was fast, and drinks were even better! Definitely coming back. The teofilo taco was DELICIOUS. Elote was also one of my favorites. The tres leches was really good (pictured below)
google avatar

Puna U.

Yelp
Food is alllways amazing here: the food is colorful and so filling and delicious. The service could be better. I can see why they would put one server during the midday, everything is kind of self serve which is super cool, but it took forever to get the server's attention. The place itself is clean and smells great! The vibes are dope, super bohemian.
google avatar

PJ S.

Yelp
All of the above! From service, to food selections, the ambiance is inviting! Food comes out fresh, and tasty! Every time I have come to dine, this place is consistently delicious! Night dining is great too! Drinks are top notch!
google avatar

John C.

Yelp
Love their unique tacos! The mushroom taco is very interesting and I highly recommend you try it out! There was also a sweet potato dish that was so tasty and it made me wonder how the hell it was made:) The atmosphere of the restaurant is so good, love the tiles. People there are so nice and stylish! Haha
google avatar

Alejandra R.

Yelp
This is the best Mexican restaurant in town! Authentic and delicious. It's usually busy but everyone works hard and food orders come out quick. You order outside at the window and then you grab your assigned number and choose your seating preference (indoor/outdoor). This is a casual place. The salsas and sauces are all tasty. They have many veggie options. This is a "must-stop" when in town!
google avatar

Camila I.

Yelp
The avocado margarita was delicious! So was the carrot piña mezcal, very smokey. The Jamaica quesadilla and the elote in the cup was delicious as well. The suadero taco and pollo taco the meat was a little dry; they were better with sauces. Very cute ambiance! It is always packed so I recommend going early to beat the dinner rush.
google avatar

Erika D.

Yelp
Absolutely amazing food! Very fresh and tasty. The Hibiscus flower taco was so good! I was hesitant at first but glad I got it. We are visiting from Phoenix and loved it here! Will definitely be back. Amazing service. It had a very SoCal feel also.
google avatar

Mildred O.

Yelp
Stopped by on the way to Corpus Christi and so glad we did. It wasn't far off the I-10 exit. You order outside and take your number inside or outside to sit down. We ordered the suadero tacos and the Baja fish and shrimp tacos. I also had the Jamaica margarita. The service was fast and the place had a chill, but loud vibe. The tacos were amazing and I could've ate two more!! The parking lot beside the building was small and fills up quickly but if it's a weekend you can park across the street.
google avatar

Andrew J.

Yelp
Love Taconeta. This place offers a new, fresh, healthy take on authentic Mexican food. The interior of the place is a viiiibe, even more so at night with their lighting. You order outside at the front and if you feel you didn't get enough you can order more from your table. We loved the suadero tacos, fried shrimp tacos, and elote, but we would probably pass on the fried fish tacos they weren't memorable. In my opinion, it's a light bite to eat that won't have you feeling overworked like heavier plates of Mexican food elsewhere. The staff is friendly and quick. You don't have much interaction other than ordering and them dropping off food at your table but that's great by me!
google avatar

Yelp
The grilled sweet potatoes were out of this world along with the brisket tacos. Highly recommend both. Fun atmosphere

How do you say "all hail taconeta" in Spanish? How about yum yum, mmm mmm, yum?! Tacos are as American as apple pie.....found on what at least feels like 50% of menus. Like any red blooded American, I've had hundreds, if not thousands of tacos in my lifetime. In doing the taco shuffle, I can't say that I've ever had a taco(s) that blew me away. This however, changes the game. Taconeta is a taqueria who's focus is scratch made. They are 100% committed to making everything in house, daily! From the tacos to the sides, Aguas frescas and margaritas....it's a labor of love. With both indoor and outdoor dining in a Vibrant causal setting, it feels special from the moment you walk up to the order window. Now, about these tacos. It pays to be this close to the Mexican border. The absolute flavor bomb can only be attributed to one thing....Tortilla's made from heirloom corn directly from Mexico. Throw in a medley of fresh ingredients that you'd be hard pressed to find in any other taqueria, and you've got yourself a culinary masterpiece. My two favorites: The Avocado Tostadas features Smashed avocado, peanut, macha, kale. The Baja Fish Taco includes Tempura cod, chile mayo, cabbage and pico. Taconeta is truly a revelation. As far as I'm concerned, this is the Michelangelo of the American taqueria. Sure El Paso is out of the way, but for the best tacos I've ever encountered....I'd made the trek for this alone. A worthy 2k mile pilgrimage indeed!

Yelp
Food and ambiance were good! The tacos were unique and I think reasonably priced. The restaurant itself is full of really cool art and color-changing lights. I was really hoping to rate this place higher and plan on giving them another chance, but the service was not good. They may have been understaffed.

Yelp
I have been coming here for quite some time. Recently the service has become poor. I went yesterday ordered and waited for a table to open up as normal no big deal once I sat down the gentleman working the register came from behind the register and told me I could not sit at the table as he had been holding for his friends and they have been waiting awhile. He then looks around and tells me he only has outside seating. I have never known this place to reserve tables or allow you to sit before ordering. That could not have been true as the couple in front of me ordering stood the side as the rest of the party showed up and then began to order. I don't know what going on with the management of the floor but everyone else seems to know the game.
