Taconeta in El Paso is the kind of place that reminds you why tacos are one of the world’s greatest foods, simple at first glance, but endlessly expressive when done right.
I started with the Pollo Taco, and it was pure, perfectly seasoned deliciousness. The chicken was juicy and deeply flavorful, with seasoning that enhanced rather than overwhelmed, letting every bite shine. It’s the kind of taco that feels thoughtfully crafted, not rushed, and immediately sets the tone for the meal.
Then came the Carnitas Taco, and this is where Taconeta truly separates itself. Unlike any carnitas I’ve had before, the pork was rich, tender, and layered with flavor, crispy in all the right places, melt-in-your-mouth in others. It felt elevated yet comforting, familiar yet completely new. One bite in and you understand why this taco stands out in a city full of incredible Mexican food.
To pair with the food, I ordered a Margarita, and it was the perfect match. Balanced, refreshing, and not overly sweet, it complemented the tacos instead of competing with them—a small but meaningful detail that shows the care put into the entire experience.
What truly ties it all together is the staff. Friendly, welcoming, and genuinely knowledgeable, they offered excellent suggestions and made the experience feel relaxed and personal, like being guided through a favorite local spot rather than just ordering off a menu.
If you find yourself in El Paso, Taconeta isn’t just a place to eat—it’s a must-go foodie stop. Come hungry, come curious, and prepare to rethink what a taco can be. 🌮✨
