This “quesadilla” was $13.60 before tip. Way overpriced, terrible food, wouldn’t recommend. Don’t understand how this spot has high reviews They also have a misleading 4% fee for using credit cards. They put up a small sign about a cash discount, but rather than discount the price for cash they just added an automatic fee for credit cards

VERY VERY GOOD TACOS. Had to give them three stars cause if the prices. 2 tacos came out to $10.19... They have a very solid flavor profile when it comes seasoning the meat. Although they did leave a lot of fat on the meat, that could have been cooked off or trimmed before cooking. Flavor was solid. I always enjoy a homemade tortilla over one that store bought. I will give them credit for that. There are better taco options in New York and lots for a better price. I do understand that rent must be paid, and workers need to be paid a fair wage as well. With that being said, if the tacos weren’t $4.50 + Tax + 4% Card Fee.... I would have maybe given them 4 stars.

Very small cozy place to get Spanish's/Mexicans cuisine. Very clean bathroom, no parking. For the price, I think they can give more, but I'm not complaining

We're regulars and after having quite a lot of things on the menu I have to say you can't really go wrong. I'd say my favorite tacos are the Spicy pork, steak, and chorizo. The tostada was also very good but tbh I sort of had a hard time eating it since it's like a hard shell pizza. But it was still good!

This is my go-to taco spot when I’m in the area. The servers / folks at the counter are nice, and the food is awesome — it’s so tasty, and you can tell they use quality, fresh ingredients. The place is tight and a little pricey, but neither of those things are uncommon in this neighborhood.

I loved the cemitas. Came here during our weeklong trip to NY. My family and I were on the hunt for authentic Mexican food and we were lucky to come across this place. The customer service is top notch and we left with a smile on our faces alongside a full stomach of good food.

Delicious! I had a tasty vegetarian burrito and it really hit the spot. I took it to go and they made my burrito quickly. Inside the decor is very simple, small, and they have a tv too. The guy who took my order was very helpful and nice. When I asked tap water while I waited , he obliged. A vegetarian burrito with tax is 10.83. Most importantly it is cash only inside. Awesome authentic Mexican cuisine! Perfect for a quick meal. Great service, I ordered to-go and they gave us another customer's meal - they immediately sent out a delivery driver to provide us with the correct meal. Much appreciated service! :)

The "hole in the wall" is complimented by one cashier and one chef. The place is authentic along with the food. The food is made to order, fresh and delicious! There are about 2 tables and 4 stools and a long table to eat on. The wait can range from 10-12 minutes because of its freshness, but it's worth it. I don't have any complaints about the food and wait. The only thing I would hope they improve are the beverage selection. A nice margarita or lemonade could've gone well with the drinks, but the options were soft drinks, Gatorade, and Mexican sodas.

Thought I reviewed this place already?! Bunch of Mexican restaurants in this area. Been to this spot the most because the staff. Love them. I can be slow when deciding what I want from the menu because there are multiple great options. The cashier never gets annoyed with me. Lol so sweet. Most recent visit I got a torta. As you can see from the picture they were generous with everything that went into the sandwich. Take out or dine in I always enjoy the food.

Amazing authentic Mexican food. We ordered birria and beef and they were both delicious. Server was kind and food came out quickly. They are pricey though. We spent $45 on 6 tacos and two waters but have 0 complaints about the food or the experience

Can't believe I haven't reviewed this place. It's my favorite quick stop for really good Mexican food, picked some up today! Nomz: I usually get the Huarache, it's so well made it reminds me of my mom's home cooking. The corn masa base is always the perfect texture, the bean spread is generous and it's a nice size. The cemita is probably the best I've had in NYC, the Oaxacan cheese is authentic and the milanesa was fried and breaded splendidly. And don't skip the breakfast burrito, the chorizo is so flavorful and the proportions are just right! Service: Nice and friendly staff. Ambiance: Cute and inviting hole in the wall, two or three small tables to sit and eat, nice big window by one of them. Nope or Dope: Dope, call ahead if you're picking up. Also, this lady was eating the Chile relleno once and said it was the best thing on the menu, I obvi need to try!!

What a lot gem in the East Village. Delicious tacos. I tried the pork, shrimp, and steak. The pork was my favorite.They are served in double corn tortillas. They also had excellent chips and tomatillo sauce. Drinks are by the can, but you can request ice. If you want cheese, be sure to request that as well. Such a cute and relaxing little place. Comfortable tables and chairs -always a plus after walking around the city. Very kid people as well.

Great authentic Mexican spot in EV. I ordered the Cemita (similar to a torta) which had legit quesillo on it which is surprisingly hard to find in Manhattan. Overall Cemita was banging, and would definitely order again. There is a small but cute area to sit if you decide to eat in. Want to go back and try some of the other delicious menu items (tacos, huaraches, burrito bowls, enchiladas, breakfast burrito).

What a great quesadilla! and you can get it made on a corn tortilla. Really wonderful food, and friendly staff. Tables inside and out make it easy to stay and in, but we also get take-out which is always delicious. Can't say enough good things. Good tacos are hard to find.

In this unassuming but festive taqueria, someone in the tiny kitchen behind the counter cares about quality, flavor and heritage and they are devotedly creating authentic and delicious regional Mexican dishes. This evening I was tantalized by a delectable and tender adobo de pollo with the perfect amount of heat. I've also enjoyed their burritos and tortas as well as their fresh salads. I look forward to trying their mole.

I thought this place was great for a quick, classic burrito. Nothing fancy, it is what it is. I have to say it didn't blow me away but I would say it's a solid choice if you're looking for a quick bite.

In my opinion, the best tacos in East Village. Grew up in Mexico City and LOVE THIS PLACE! Hard to find a place that makes their own tortillas fresh + all their salsas. No frozen meat or fish. A gem with great prices! Love the fish tacos - one of the few places I will order fish (very picky about any place that uses frozen).

The East Village has had some major turnover in Mexican food in the last decade and I have been looking for a good take out option. I had a chile relleno burrito with a side of guacamole and salsa. It was delicious. My husband had the shrimp quesadilla with a side of yellow rice and black beans. We both found everything delicious! They do have a few tables, but I think this will be a regular order-in spot for us. So happy to have found a new Mexican option.

This place hits the spot. It may blend in with the rest of East Village, but this is a very authentic Mexican spot. I tried their al pastor quesadilla and it was delicious. My boyfriend got their pork burrito bowl, also very good. Both came out to less than $25, a steal. Please bring cash :)

There were only a few table, so it's more of a takeout place. I enjoyed my burrito bowl with carnitas. Not as salty as other Mexican places in Manhattan.

Ordered from Tacos Cuautla Morelos since it's super close to my abode and it was really good!! We got the al pastor nachos and carnitas burrito with a liter of horchata. Everything had a classic taste and we will definitely be ordering from here again. It may be cash only inside (not sure since we ordered via seamless). They have tons of meat options on the menu, and great portion sizes for the price!

My favorite spot for tacos! Definitely a hole in the wall. Authentic and yummy. Might not look visually appealing but this spot is legit. They also have jarritos drinks!

This place is the cutest! Food was very filling and felt authentic. If I lived in the area this would be one of my go to spots. I grabbed the Chicken Enchilada that brought side of rice and black beans and an Agua de Jamaica both of which were great ($12.99 and 3.00$ I believe). My friends got the 3 taco special for $11 and they were pretty happy. All of us were full at the end even with standard sized dishes. The lady serving us was super super accommodating (even with my friend's picky food habits!) and so sweet! She even brought out a knife and a lighter to cut and light my friend's birthday cake. What an angel! The spot itself is definitely more lowkey than most and a tad on the smaller side but cozy. The place was t crowded either with just a few (what seemed like) regulars popping by to grab their dinner. Wishing this place nothing but success; stop by, it'll be worth your while.

The first time we ate here it was easily 5 stars. Sure, we were a little hungover but the food was super satisfying, authentic, and the service was top notch. Fast forward to a few weeks later and it was meh at best. The lady behind the counter seemed genuinely annoyed we wanted to eat in even though we were the only customers. Granted, it was a muggy summer night and they don't have A/C. Can't say I'd want to be stuck inside either. I had high hopes for the food after our last trip but was sorely disappointed. My quesadilla was disheveled and oddly cold which made it difficult to eat. The lettuce also tasted like it was on the way out. Unfortunately the torta wasn't much better. The chicken milanesa was soggy and luke warm. Paired with the stale roll it made for a bland, unsatisfying sandwich. Kinda wish I stuck with Downtown Bakery or Paquito's on first instead. Both are consistent, cheaper, and offer way better service. TL;DR: If you're going to order stick to the tacos and burritos for take-out.

AMAZING!!!! The most authentic tacos that you will find in New York City. The tacos are sooo fresh - comes with cilantro and lime. I highly recommend this place, and their prices are worth it.

This place is the MOST Authentic Mexican I've had in NYC. As far as the quality of food, it blows away any of the fancier Mexican restaurants. Their tortillas (if you specify) are homemade-- chewy and fresh... almost like a pillow to hold all the nice amazing food! I always ask for their terrific pico de Gallo even though it's not on the menu ;). Their beans are tasty beyond belief. Diverse menu of elote (I like without the spice.) I can't even name the amount of specialities they have, you'll have to look at the menu! I wish I could try their mole sauce as I'm sure it's the real deal!-- I'm now vegetarian so obsess over their veggie tacos which are more than a taco! It's delicious mushrooms peppers and onions so perfectly sautéed. Check out the menu, it's a must! I'll try and post food pics before I devour (as I wait here for my order.)

This place is such a find! Great prices and great food. We stumbled upon it without any help from Yelp - as we had initially wanted to go to a restaurant next door that told us there was a 1.5 hour wait. That being said, we're glad we did come across this little hole in the wall. Their menu is huge and boasts the usual offerings along with some speciality dishes. Portion sizes are good too. Check it out if you're hungry for some delicious Mexican food!

Seriously the best Mexican in, at least, the EV. Everything is flavorful, salsa is amazing and spicy, portions are generous. Great vegetarian selection.

As someone who grew up eating authentic Mexican multiple times a week, I can confidently say this is some of the best mexican you can get in manhattan. It's small, hot and musty in the summer, and the woman behind the counter will never smile at you no matter how many times you've gone in, but the food is fantastic so none of that actually matters. If you're desperate for some real mexican food, do yourself a favor and get their tacos with the homemade tortillas.

I've been buying takeout from their food truck on 13th Street and 1st Ave, which is excellent. I recently had surgery and cannot go out yet, so I called the restaurant for delivery. It was absolutely delicious. I love the spicy chicken tostadas and the Chile Rellenos Plate. Everything they make is so good!!

Really nice taco place! I think it's my favourite so far although the one in Chelsea market is amazing too. Reasonable prices and card is accept but minimum is $10 or else you have to use cash. Yesterday the card machine was broken but there's an ATM just across the street. Very friendly staffs and decent speed. Quite a few different choices. The pork is very nice but my all time favourite is the beef. Pulled pork is good but not as great as the others but that's just my personal preference. Nice nachos too! They have a couple drinks but not too much. It's a pretty small restaurant just three tables and a couple other seats. It's usually not crowded many do takeouts too, but it does get busier after 7:30-8 sometimes. A bench around the tree right outside the restaurant though, so if you wanted to eat there and the weather is fine, it's actually a perfect spot too. Highly recommend and I'd definitely keep going back and hopefully I'll get to bring more friends there

The service: The gentleman at the counter/server was very attentive and didn't skip a beat. Small place, can fit maybe 10 people(so try and get there around 6,7,8PM, time.) Food: burrito(Mexican sausage) was good!! Chips with guacamole and mild, medium and hot sauce was on point. Tacos(had the chicken, pork and beef) were good as well. This food with 2 drinks was $40. Could be a little cheaper, but, it is the "east village". For Mexican, authentic Mexican, I would recommend. But you can find a little cheaper around the way.

Many things were subpar. The standout was the Mexican sausage taco, which was flavorful, with crispy carmelization on the meat. The al pastor tacos, which traditionally use pork from a vertical spit (this restaurant doesn't have one), then sauteed, was gummy and the meat seemed leftover. The carnitas, braised meat, were oily, rubberty and flavorless. Lime slices provided were dried out.

I will not recommend this place at all. Almost half an hour to get 2 steak Tortas.. on a slow Sunday night.. If I could give this place no stars I will.

I ordered from here last night and was really excited due to all the rave reviews - too bad the good people of yelp let me down. My enchilada showed up 30 mins later (+1 star) with 3 tiny pieces of moldy avocados on top (see pictures attached). How is this ok? I called the restaurant and they brushed me off and told me to call seamless on my own for a refund. Not cool. Sorry but won't be coming back.

Good food , easy shop to miss... great guac and chips... daughter was very satisfied with her fish burritos and my tacos were great also. Laid back server lets you chill and order when you are ready, not pushy or overbearing. Real sweetheart.

Stopped in on a Tuesday night and decided to stay for dinner - so glad we did! Tacos, nachos, enchiladas - fresh, delicious, satisfied my deepest cravings for Mexican food. The dining area was small and not air conditioned, but still comfortable. Excellent, hospitable service. My only complaint - guacamole a little bland, but remedied by adding some green hot sauce. Really looking forward to coming back soon. It's great to find good Mexican food in my neighborhood.

It was a hot summer day, so the air conditioner above the door was dripping like crazy. It was unavoidable to enter the restaurant. The air conditioner rain was hot too. Not sure why. I came around 8, 830 on a monday night and there was no one waiting in line and the place was empty. They seem to be more of a seamless operation than a place people actually go to. Steak burrito bowl was a good size. Lots of things inside, but lots more beans than anything else. The flavors were decent but nothing mind blowing. I would prefer one of the fast food concepts over this place.

Simply amazing!! We had nachos la pastor and w/ pevil in which they were super kind to neatly split into 3 plates. My brother had a la pastor burrito and the other had steak tocas. Everything was very fresh and delicious. The service was also very welcoming. I will defiantly be coming back.

I never leave reviews on yelp, but this restaurant is a fantastic hidden gem in east village. Everything I have tried has been authentic, flavorful, and delicious from the tacos, to the burritos, to the tortas! Staff is polite and friendly too!

Ordered ONE taco for pick up through seamless. ONE taco was 4.99 plus tax and I tipped, so the ONE taco came out to $6. Lol. $6 for ONE taco and it wasn't even good. I will pass for the future.

Just ordered lunch for the first time. Ugh!! I had the steak burrito bowl. Says guacamole is included and there was NO guac!!! The lettuce was hidden under the steak and of course made it hot and wilted, disgusting!!! And there was more lettuce then rice. I also requested for lime and of course it wasn't included. The food wasn't bad, but having to fish through to avoid the hot, wilted lettuce boils my blood. So annoyed. And I never saw the delivery guy because he just left my order with the front desk.

I'm a regular as the food is good, but seems your credit card machine is never working anymore. What's up with that?

Olvídate the haters. My daughter is a super picky eater. Steak tacos hands down rocks her world. Great homemade spicy sauce. Cash only.
