The Best New Brunches in New Orleans | Eater New Orleans

"Downtown’s new Tacos del Cartel brings splashy to a new level, with textural, extravagant interiors dripping with art, sculptures, and color; a true feast for the senses. The modern Mexican restaurant specializes in vibey brunch, serving a huge menu of dishes like like tres leches French toast, chilaquiles, a breakfast burrito, oyster mushroom omelette, and Huevos Ahogados, a classic breakfast of eggs poached in smoky tomato salsa. Its cold dishes are another specialty, like black aguachile, green ceviche, and tuna tostadas." - Eater Staff

The Best Restaurants in New Orleans’s Central Business District (CBD) | Eater New Orleans

"Tacos Del Cartel is not your usual taco joint. First, there is the decor, drenched in color, texture, and symbolic art. But there’s plenty of substance behind the high style, starting with homemade heirloom tortillas made by turning dried blue and yellow corn into masa. There is barbacoa short rib cooked low and slow overnight and birria tacos, cheesy, meaty envelopes that deliver hefty flavor in every bite, jus for dipping on the side. Tacos both traditional (tinga de pollo) and original (soft shell crab) round out the menu." - Beth D’Addono

First time here and the experience was superb. The host was amazing and friendly, he gave us a sushi recommendation and also sat us at our table in a time manner. Our server, Claudia……………. Claudia was phenomenal and she was well-versed in the menu and recommended the perfect dish/drink for our taste. The ambiance was EVERYTHING. The entire staff was super attentive. We were literally in awe the entire time because of the amazing customer service. We will be back and EVERYONE should go and experience it.

First time eating there since the renovation. The place looks amazing, so much cool art to look at. The staff is very friendly and always eager to help and serve. Now let's talk about the food, the home made chips with the different dips is so addicting, the food is so yummy you just can't stop eating. I will definitely go again soon!

Google
Talk about a vibe!! Felt like I was in a Las Vegas restaurant or something! They really went all out with the decorations and design of this place. The service was impeccable- super professional and attentive. The food was really good as well! For starters they brought out a trio of dips and chips, each one was delicious! Since the menu here featured Japanese infusion, we tried the sushi, and I was actually so surprised at how good it was!! When the Tomahawk steak is ordered, they do a cool little show! So fun!

Google
Wow! This place exceeded our expectations for sure. We went there for the first time to celebrate our anniversary and were blown away by the service, ambiance, and the food was great. The best fish tacos my wife has ever had and the asada tacos were spot on too. They also surprised us with a free dessert and the classiest mini celebration. We will definitely be back!

This was my first time eating here. I tried to visit before the renovation, but it was always too busy. I confirmed availability online before deciding to visit on a Sunday for brunch. I definitely recommend you check google maps, open table or give them a call and make a reservation. The restaurant ambiance is elegant and stylish, which fits the Taco Del Cartel mantra. The staff is friendly and eager to help answer questions and serve. I had a few simple hiccups, but they were addressed quickly once they were brought to the server’s attention. The food is very good. The birria tacos and the chips with the three salsas are delicious and will have you asking for more. The prices are a little higher than I would like, but it’s a nice meal for a treat. We will be back!

Google
I’ve been to this place before the renovation, and the food was delicious. However, this time, the food had no flavor and it was just not worthy. It was so disappointing for the price. The drinks were delicious, and the dessert was simply divine. The decorations were beautiful, and the customer service was exceptional. However, the tables were too close together, making the place feel crowded and the music was too loud, making it difficult to have a conversation. We felt like we were screaming to talk to each other even though we were right in front of one another. Not really sure if we would try it again.

Google
My husband and I went to Tacos del Cartel for our anniversary, and it was such a fun and memorable experience! The place is absolutely beautiful, and the atmosphere made our night feel extra special. Our waitress was incredibly kind, and the entire staff went above and beyond to make us feel celebrated—they even brought us a dessert and played a sweet song just for us! Everything was perfect. 10 out of 10—highly recommend! We will definitely be going back.

Google
I went to Tacos del Cartel in New Orleans and honestly everything was good except for the beef tongue but anyway that’s different history. This one in Metairie location was very great on everything! Service, atmosphere, drinks and food. So if you are around in Metairie, LA try it and order the rib eye barbacoa 😋 and guava margarita.

Yelp
Awesome restaurant with delicious tacos and quesadillas. One time my Uber driver stole my order and when I went to pickup the food, Tacos del Cartel remade the whole order on the house! The inside decor is amazing and cozy for couples on dates!

Yelp
Was recently on a visit in LA and my friend brought me here. The exterior, (pink design) threw me off, but should be an actual hint as to how eclectic and fun the interior is. As soon as I set foot in the door, I immediately had a grin from ear to ear. From the amazing stain-glass (behind the bar,) the painted mural, the curio cabinets in the back...there is so much to take in. We order the "frozen drink of the day," which was a spicy, mango, margarita. It was the perfect texture (so you could actually get a drink out of the straw,) unlike places that put in so much ice, that you can't even drink out of the straw. The spice was a slow after-kick at the back of the tongue, like a tingle. I will definitely order this next time, too. Luckily, I was not there alone...because the order of guacamole was extremely generous. There must have been at least 9+ avocados in there and the fresh pico de gallo was placed on top (not mixed in, like some other places do, in order to hide that it is not so fresh.) I think that this might be the best guacamole I've ever had at a restaurant. The only reason for not giving 5 stars, is because our waitress was rushing us to order, (looking at her watch) and stopped by twice in 5 minutes or less to see if we were "ready YET." Then the elderly woman (2 tables down) asked for assistance getting out from behind the table, (she had a walker and the table was too heavy to push out of the way.) The waitress seemed exasperated by the request and almost seemed happy to see the patron leave. A great place for drinks, food and atmosphere, though.

Yelp
Barbie and other pop ups. I think there's a Tulum experience now. I recommend the margaritas and tacos. Love the chicken and steak is so good.

Yelp
Really disappointed after wanting to try this place for so long. Was finally in Metairie and decided to stop in on a Taco Tuesday. Had to sit at the bar, which was no issue. However, the appetizers were brought out wrong. The cartelote (corn) really had minimal flavoring. Our entrees were brought out wrong and 20 minutes apart from each other. After we receive the second entree, we were still missing some sides. The birria tacos were decent, however the chile guajilo broth tasted as if it had been sitting all day. Only giving 3 stars because the bartender was great, the place was beautifully decorated and a vice

Yelp
This cute little restaurant was just what we needed after a fun weekend in New Orleans! The decor is picture worthy in the restaurant and even the restrooms. We had a friendly attentive server. I had birria tacos on the brunch menu and they were absolutely delicious and flavorful. The chips and salsa were good, chips are thick and crispy. I recommend.

Yelp
I was very surprised that this evening in particular I found a parking spot and "NO wait time" as I entered this spot. I was immediately recognized and seated with a while container of water while I wait to order. I also had the complimentary chips and salsa too. I sat at the bar because I noticed even though there were barely any cars many folks ubered over here. So this spot stays packed as it seems. I got the barbie margarita(frozen in a cute pouch) and salsa and chips my way around admiring the scenery. This spot is a vibe! It's really cute in here! Decorated nicely too! The Birria tacos were so good. I love Dipping them in the side bowl of broth they gave. Overall this is a cute photo worthy top spot!
google avatar

Yelp
Definitely my go to spot for birria tacos they are full of flavor, cheesy and the consume is delicious. I love their inside dining area so cute picture worthy; however, this time I went through the drive through. The service was fast and my food as still hot after getting home. Also decided to get a frozen strawberry margarita. Delicious and definitely not weak!

Yelp
The ONLY place I'll get birria tacos! Simply the best. The other menu items aren't bad either. I can't believe I haven't reviewed them sooner, but this is a good place to get Americanized Mexican food. Cute decor, good drinks, nice vibes-- a recipe for success!

Yelp
Andy was an amazing server. The chicken tortilla soup is the best I have ever had. The guacamole is so fresh and delicious. By far the best Mexican restaurant in the city!

Yelp
I made a to-go order for 4 medium house margaritas and arrived 15 minutes after I placed my order. I walked in and immediately had to wait an extensive amount of time for my order that was not completed. After being approached by 3 different employees about my order, I waited another 15 minutes then I received my 4 margaritas half full. The quality was not consistent in each margarita. I am very disappointed in my overall experience and hope there are efforts to revise that quality of products.

Yelp
So let me start off with they nailed the decor in this place. From the walls to the ceiling to just about everywhere you turn, they certainly pulled out all the stops. I had two of the margs to start, one frozen regular and one passion fruit on the rocks. I'm a frozen marg snob and I could tell this one didn't come out a frosty factory machine. The ingredients certainly matter but only the best of the best frozen drinks come out of frosty factory. The rock margarita was ok but too much agave for me. I tend to like my margaritas more tart than sweet. Tried three tacos, chicken tinga, pork, and the birria. I would say the tinga was my favorite. Decent spot so I'm giving it a 4.
google avatar

Kara S.

Yelp
Food is very good, super cute decor, for me a bit high priced for the quantity. I totally get it with rising food costs, but based on pricing, I couldn't make this a regular spot. The shrimp appetizer was delicious, but there were 5 shrimp... I tried the 3 tacos and got the fish taco, chicken tinga, and birria. All were good, chicken was my favorite, the sauce was very good. We ordered a couple drinks, but again, based on the small cup and price point, I wouldn't return for "drinks". We shared an appetizer, 3 drinks and 2 lunches and it was $110 including tip.

Yelp
Great spot! Delicious food, fun atmosphere, and we are so glad we stumbled upon it. The service is 5 star, too!

Yelp
I've passed by here well over a hundred times, so I FINALLY dropped in. Hubby and I noticed that the place is beautiful and has a nice vibe. It was fairly quiet because there weren't many patrons. To start, we have the queso, which was great. I also had the corn but it had way too much mayo for me. I didn't eat the whole thing. I had a sangria margarita, and it was good and strong. Loved it! For dinner, my husband had a big ass burrito. He thought it was really delicious. I opted for the tofu tacos. I didn't like it at all. I usually like tofu IF it is cooked nicely. This was just stewed tofu in a spicy marinade. Definitely won't get this again. The little one had a quesadilla which was cooked nicely. Compared to other places, this was definitely a 3, but the drink and server took it to a 4. I can't remember her name, but she was fabulous!

Yelp
I came here for Valentine's Day and well let me tell you that this place is beautiful and perfect for a date. It's pink with flowers and a lot of Instagram photo like messages. So it's perfect for that. The service was great we got sit down pretty quick. And our server was really nice even when she did not know about the mezcals they offered she went to take a picture and brought it back. They should have a drink menu or a list of their tequilas and mezcals. Their food people say their birria tacos are the best in town, so me as a foodie came here for this. I have had birria tacos in California and in Mexico and these are not the best ones I had. It could of been a day when their main cook was out, but the food was not the greatest. It was just missing a bang. The salsa and the chips and the queso were amazing though. You must get the queso with chorizo. For tacos we had the Al pastor, birria, brisket, shrimp and Carme asada and they were a little bit dry with too much onion on top. The brisket was probably the best one out of them all. With the Al pastor coming in second place. I would love to come back maybe on a different day not valentines and also give them a second chance on the birria, it just didn't feel like it was as wet as it supposed to be it was like a soup and then a dry brisket taco. Quality of the meat matters. Sauces matter and they got decent sauce.

Yelp
Not my first visit & certainly not my last. So, a review is well deserved. I love the consistency with their service, food, and ambiance. Always clean, welcoming, and most importantly Tasty. I live in downtown' so making the drive to Kenner just to eat tacos speaks volumes. The staff is very friendly, especially Andy! He prob doesn't remember, but I've had him once before and he is just as pleasant & kind this time as I remember previously. I order the elotes, and Mix & Match flour chicken tinga and corn birria. The tacos might be small but pack a lot & full of bold flavor! I also enjoyed the Drunken Cactus which was the nice balance of spice and sweet ma

Yelp
Tacos del Cartel is a beautifully designed space. Imagine a speakeasy crossed with day of the dead and that is what the space looks like. They did a fantastic job decorating. Drinks were tasty. The blood orange margarita in particular was quite delicious. Complimentary chips and salsa were appreciated, especially as the salsa had an unexpected sweetness. We also had the choriqueso - pretty tasty! As for the tacos, the birria was great! The pastor and carnitas were good. But the all star was definitely the shrimp taco. Do not miss it, the flavors are incredible! Will definitely be back.
google avatar

Yelp
The ambiance is so cute. Perfect for date night or GNO. I went on Valentine's Day and the setup was really cute with the teddy bears and roses. I called a couple times to try to get reservations but the phone listed on google didn't work and then when we got there they said we needed a reservation :-/ ... other than that the service was pretty good. We both ordered margaritas and they were delicious. The chips and salsa and quest were good. The tacos looked good and had all the right ingredients but they needed a bit more seasoning. I would definitely recommend and will return.

Yelp
Amazing birria, street tacos, and margaritas. Fun atmosphere, friendly staff. Attention to detail was immaculate and the prices were more than fair.

Yelp
Good service. Hood food. A little slow, but friendly and prices are decent. I've only been there once, but I'd go again

Service and food was excellent. Ordered the carne asada plate and steak was tender. Great job

Yelp
We had been talking about visiting the establishment for a while. Since we had to drive in from Metairie the PNC and I chose to give it a go. And boyyyy was it worth it! The queso was probably the only thing missing a tiny more but every thing else from the Blackberry Mule to the chicken and waffles and the Mini Birria Tacos were amazing. Def worth the drive and will come again if we are in the neighborhood! Thanks Ash, she was so awesome, informative and super sweet!! 5 stars are definitely due to her amazing customer service! Muchas Gracias!!

Yelp
We went for Taco Tuesday! They had a lot of good taco options. We ordered an assortment of tacos. My favorite was the shrimp taco. It had a peach salsa that took the taco to another level. My husband's favorite taco was the pastor taco. My only critique is that the birria taco had onions and cilantro on the outside of the taco and I would've preferred it on the inside of the taco. Not to mention, this is a really cute restaurant. Definitely Instagram-able!
google avatar

Dariela W.

Yelp
Simply AMAZING! This place keeps getting better and better. From their cocktails to their food... they rock BIG TIME. The service is on point. We had the shrimp fried tacos which were amazing, they had peach and even though it sounds weird to mix peaches and shrimp... they were great! We also had the gobernador tacos, also great! You have to get the queso fundido. It is a mix of all good cheeses and chorizo. It was definitely our favorite. We had a few different cocktails and again, all of them were absolutely amazing.

Yelp
I went to get a drink and order food to go. I got charged 18% automatic gratuity. The receipt says a service charge of 18% is added to all dine-in bills. I didn't eat there other than the chips they brought out that I didn't ask for. I ordered guacamole and it was ok. I also ordered steak fajitas for $25.00 and they charge extra for cheese. Who doesn't want cheese? That's too expensive for the food I got. The steak was not cut uniformly. Some pieces were very thick and some very thin. I cut the steak when I got home before eating the food. The steak was also very chewy. It was not tender at all. I do not recommend this restaurant. The food is not worth the price and the 18% service charge on to go food was a rip off.

Yelp
From the minute we arrived, until the moment we left, our visit was wonderful. The staff was warm and friendly, and the food was delicious. We came in as a rowdy bunch celebrating my grandson's fifth birthday and were welcomed and doted on. The space is impeccably decorated. There are roses on the ceiling and while you're checking them out, make sure you take notice of the chandeliers - they're beautiful! Everywhere you look there is a lovely surprise! Also, we were a party of 10, and as Tacos del Cartel is an intimately sized space, I was expecting things to feel cramped. Not so. As for the food - get the birria tacos. You won't be disappointed. And if you're of age and have a designated driver, make sure you partake in their house margarita. I tasted my daughter's, and it was so tasty. I'm so impressed with this gem, and I will certainly be back.

Yelp
This place was so cute! The food was lovely and the service was great! They were very attentive to us and friendly. I loved the quesofundido and the ceviche. They were both so flavorful. The loaded fries were so yummy and filling I couldn't finish them. The churros were some of the best churros I have ever had. They were so warm and tasted like they were freshly made so good!! They also give you 4!! I can't recommend them enough! 10/10.

Yelp
Like the saying goes, "The only good taco you'll regret is the one you didn't eat at Tacos Del Cartel." Truth be told, it was good. From left to right: 1. Shrimp Taco 2. Pastor Taco 3. Birria Taco 4. Chicken Tinga Taco With a side of refried beans, Chicharron Salsa (MY 1st FAVORITE) and free house salsa (bussing). A day without tacos won't kill you, but why risk it? Overall, I suggest giving this place a shot if you're around this area. https://tacosdelcartel.com/ #lamchoponthegeaux #metairiela #tacosdelcartel #tacotuesday

Yelp
Really dope spot for Taco Tuesday. I love, love, love the Dia de los Muertos inspired decor and chill vibe of Taco Del Cartel. The wall art, neon sign, and ceiling full of roses are perfect for photos. So far, I've only had tacos, which are very yummy, but I'd like to try the quesadilla or the Cali burrito the next time I come. The queso and guacamole are also good and have a nice flavor (I hate bland guacamole). The drinks here are GOOD. My favorite is the Catrina Rosé--a margarita with a rosé float. You only need one or two for a truly happy, happy hour. It's a small restaurant, but it does have an outdoor patio and some bar seating. Parking can also be a bit of a pain, so if you're coming with a group and can carpool, I'd definitely recommend doing that.

Yelp
Tacos Del Cartel "The Mexican Taco Shop" is noted for their authentic Mexican tacos. This Mexican taco shop is located in the New Orleans suburb of Metairie at 2901 David Drive which is about 18 minutes and 13 miles away from the New Orleans French Quarter. This Greater New Orleans area Mexican restaurant has become popular for both their authentic Mexican tacos and over the top decorations not seen in many other area Mexican restaurants which results in very interesting options for their interior design ideas. I had the chicken fajitas here which were just not really to my taste. I wanted to sample their burger but they don't have my mandatory condiment of mustard here. The tacos look good here so I guess you should stick to tacos here. Overall I think you should probably just stick to the tacos here as the other items I sampled or attempted to order just didn't work out for my taste but your taste might differ. My video review of Tacos Del Cartel is here: https://youtu.be/ewePuFQa204

Yelp
The prices is high and the food is not worth the price. I had the Cali burrito steak for $12 add chicken $3 I was charged $6 for the steak I guess the $12 was for the beans and rice on the burrito $21 for a burrito that was very chewy my jaws started getting tight chewy the steak in the burrito, wasn't enjoyable. $85 for two the server reached over my girl food to hand me my beer instead of coming to my side of the table and sit it next to me 18% gratuity was automatically added first and last visit for me.

Yelp
If you are looking for a great place with authenticity, this is your place!! The ambiance is top shelf. The food is amazing. I had birria tacos and charro beans. Best I have had recently. The restaurant is decorated with the theme of dis de miertos( the celebration of the you loved ones passing on). They are short staffed like many places but the staff works to full fill those orders rapidly. I won't say there isn't a wait but it's reasonable. The drinks are amazing. They have a dehydration method with the fruits that garnish you drinks which makes it beautiful and great tasting. Try this place!

Yelp
Ayyyyeee! It's taco Tuesday right! Worst day to go to any Mexican restaurant butttt...I'm with it so come on vamanos! Well I said all that to say, you're gonna be waiting a while. There isn't any real parking so you have to make one up. Lol I hadn't heard of this place before but it seems I was missing out according to the amount of people there. On the outside looking in, you wouldn't think it was as cute as it is upon entry. The flowers...the bar! It's just so aesthetically pleasing. Seating is limited so we took first available which ended up being outside. Our server was prompt and very nice bringing us margaritas and a couple of other cute tasty drinks. Im a sucker for a cute drink. The queso nice and melty and was served with some of the softest tortillas. The elote was good, nothing to brag about. Tacos were amazing the way the peach complimented the shrimp it was slurpable. Lol I'd go back when I feel like the wait. Lol.

Yelp
My friends wanted to try this restaurant, so we drove the 20 minutes to Metairie for brunch on a Saturday. They were fully staffed and we received quick and attentive service. The menu is a little confusing, so our waitress was very patient in explaining everything, (if you get a Cali burrito, you can choose any of the meat options listed on the menu). The 3 tacos are not a huge portion for the price (so if you want to try the tacos, better to go on taco Tuesday). Given the location, the food is all overpriced. The burrito was a nice sized; however, I thought the brisket was strange tasting and overly fatty (which you don't want inside of a burrito). Note that they put fries as sides and will put fries inside your burrito if you don't ask them to leave them out. They have clearly decorated the (what I assume is a) repurposed building well in order to make it very festive and cover anything they don't want seen. I doubt any of us will be back - there are tons of Mexican restaurants closer to where we live that have great food and pricing. In addition, it is dimly lit, and the menu typeface is small - so as an older adult, you may have difficulty reading the menu. This restaurant is near Lafreniere Park, so it's worth a try if you are in the area.

Yelp
Great food and drinks! Music is a little loud but overall good experience. I like the Birria tacos and Cartel Margarita. So good!

Yelp
I plan to update this review upon my second try but, for now, I THOROUGHLY enjoyed everything. First, that chicken tortilla soup is the best I've had in my life, and I've tried plenty. It's so hearty and "authentic-tasting." Beautiful, bold flavor, lots of shredded chicken, savory onion and cilantro (and I loathe cilantro). That was one of the best soups I've had in a while! I also tried Birria tacos for the first time. Now, I don't know how Birria tacos are "supposed" to taste, but I know these were divineeeeee. They were so gooey, yet crunchy! The meat was full of flavor. I can't lie--I didn't even touch the sauce. I inhaled the tacos way too fast. I had a spicy margarita. It was tasty. Side note: it's neither strong nor spicy. It has a hint of jalapeño. The interior is GORGEOUS. I kept looking at the ceiling and all around. Makes you feel like you're in a little utopia. Nice job there. It is a bit small, so I would call ahead for large parties. Service was excellent. Diego, our waiter, was kind! Definitely returning. I want an exact repeat.

Yelp
a perfect example of you cant put lipstick on a pig. its still a pig, the decor is beautiful, but once you sit down in the over placed tables , that seem they are trying to get 12 tables in an area big enough for maybe 8, you get the food that has a horrible taste, my god i could get better food at Tacos del Bell it was overpriced and thank god the portions are small, because the food is terrible, at least they have a nice bar with some strong margeritas to drown out the taste. once in the parking lot if you can call it that you'll see the delightful sight of the overstuffed dumpster. suggestion , get your trash picked up. or people will think your recycling on the plates later.

Yelp
The service was amazing. I really like how the inside and the bathroom are on theme with flowers everywhere! The food is like everything you expect of freshly made! I will be back even though it is pricey!

Yelp
I am not sure if we just went at an early time on Sunday (I think around 11ish AM) but this place was relatively empty. There was only one other table eating when we came in. The inside of this place is impressive! Very cute ceiling with roses, nice neon sign, pink plastic chairs, cool mural. This spot is definitely instagrammable for a taqueria. This place offers brunch on the weekend! I got the birria brunch and it was very tasty. It included 2 eggs cooked to your choice, half an avocado and 3 mini birria tacos with birria consumé broth. I have heard the birria is good here and it was! The salsas that you can try are very good and not just your basic red salsa. The Paloma I had was also great and only 5 bucks. Service was prompt and really good, always checking to make sure everything was to our liking. I am not sure if we just went during a dead time or what but I enjoyed this place a lot. If I lived a little closer this would be my taco spot.

Yelp
AMBIANCE WAS AMAZING. FOOD WAS AMAZING. I've been back twice. The shrimp appetizer is so good. It's like a Mexican and Cajun twist on a shrimp cocktail. The chorizo queso was great ! I've tried the mushroom, carne asada, pastor, birria, catfish, and they have been AMAZING! Even one Birria comes with the "motor oil" season dump and dip. Please go! Sometimes the only flaw is that the business is slow due to one waiter/server but the food is soooo worth the wait!

Yelp
We stopped in yesterday on a whim, seeking some good Mexican food. We read a few reviews and decided to give them a shot. We're a family of 4, with two kids, when we arrived we weren't greeted but stared at like we had just done something incorrectly. We're stood awkwardly waiting to see if either the waitress or hostess would say anything and finally got a "how many?". When we were seated the waitress handed the menus and began to walk away, was asked for a high chair which she brought back looking annoyed. We waited a while again... the waitress came back and said "I apologize for the wait, we weren't sure who wanted to wait on you, so I guess it'll be me." Now I totally understand kids can be a nuisance, and while I'm coming of Mr extremely biased, our kids didn't whine, run around, nor make a mess, but we were treated poorly for bringing them. Overall- The food was pretty good which was a shame given the service. They also tacked on an 18% gratuity. The atmosphere is cool, and again the food was tasty, but it's one of those places to stop by once.

Yelp
the inside is beautiful. the food was super basic and bland. I went on a taco Tuesday. I had the 3 taco plate and 3 house margaritas and my total came to 76 dollars...... for 3 tacos and 3 house margs, that's insane!!!! so many hidden changes not on the menu and not voiced at the time of ordering. Way too expensive for what it is.

Yelp
Like most people, we came here due the ambience. Those gorgeous photos of the pink rose ceilings draw you in for sure. I hear the decorator from Tujagues did the decorations here and Bravo for sure. The decor is even better in person. This restaurant is on the smaller side, so it is a little challenging for groups. The max they could fit would probably be 10. The parking is tricky too. There is a copy place next to it that allows parking for the restaurant, spelled with a K for Kopy. They do not take reservations on Tuesday, Friday, Saturday or Sunday. They split checks only 4 ways too. We came here with a group of about 7, but unbeknownst to me it grew to about 14. Luckily we had say outside --- also gorgeous ambience -- and we just kept adding tables and wooden picnic benches to our group. The outside has a tree that they built a table around, which I love. Dante's Restaurant did the same. I prefer that to chopping the tree down. Anyway, they stung outdoor lights around the tree and outside. There were the pink roses scattered throughout, just really pretty ambience. With our group growing and growing, the wait staff was actually able to keep up. I was impressed with it. None of orders were incorrect. It was all timely and drinks were filled. I will admit, the drinks are not strong. I thought the tacos and the corn tortillas were delicious and the happy hour had good pricing. I loved the corn on the cob, it was my favorite dish here. Overall, we were impressed.

Yelp
The food is very good and reasonable. But this is listed under Cuban food and this definitely isn't Cuban.
