Authentic tacos, burritos, chilaquiles, and more with patio seating

"“I always get the lengua burrito. That’s something I would do late night or early in the morning, and it’s always fresh. You don’t see a ton of lengua in Silver Lake, either. And the wall there is very Instagrammable, so you can take a cute selfie and let your friends know you were in LA without them. By the way, you can really tell where I live, cause like, this b*tch really stays within a half-mile radius.”" - brant cox
"Tacos Delta is a flat-out Silver Lake classic. While we respect and endorse waking up on a weekend morning and stumbling down to the tiny taco stand for a breakfast burrito, hitting up this walk-up window for dinner is equally enjoyable. Order a few fish tacos or a chile relleno burrito, set up shop on the quiet side patio, and enjoy a rare night when you aren’t cooking yourself dried-out chicken and vegetables. Everything on the menu is under $10." - brant cox
"Family-owned and established nearly a half-century ago, this spot is my home town comfort food. It’s the first place I stop when I come back from working abroad. I dream of their huevos rancheros and bean burritos." - brennan carley
"If you want to show someone Silver Lake for the first time, just grab some Tacos Delta, sit on their back porch on a Sunday afternoon, and watch the farmer’s market wind down across the street. It’s lush. It’s casual. It’s bustling with young families and hungover 20-somethings. It’s Silver Lake in one meal. Stationed in a walk-up window off of Sunset Blvd., just down the street from Sunset Junction and tucked between 37 artisanal juiceries, Tacos Delta has the feel of a true neighborhood joint. Even with a menu as long as your arm, you’re going to be hard-pressed to find anything not worth the low prices. From the Mexican soups to the definitely-not-Mexican burger, the food is solid and satisfying. But you don’t go for the food, at least not entirely. You go because of the feel of the place. You go for the people watching. You go to eat some real food in a neighborhood that sometimes feels like it’s lacking such a thing. Food Rundown Quesadilla It’s delicious. The asada is the best version of this. Breakfast Burrito The best non-alcoholic hangover cure in Silver Lake. Go for the chorizo, and make sure you grab plenty of their house salsa. Hard Tacos Plate If you’re the type of person who is OK with eating a hard taco when you could just as easily order a more authentic version nearby, you’ll enjoy this." - Michael Burke
"A seminal Silver Lake taco stand whose matriarch, Elisa “Licho,” has died at age 86; she helped found the shop about four decades ago, and her original recipes remain the backbone of the small restaurant and a key part of its identity." - Farley Elliott
