Tacos Don Manolito Review - Hollywood - Los Angeles - The Infatuation

"Hollywood has a plethora of forgettable fast-casual lunch options. Tacos Don Manolito is an exception. The sunny, order-at-the-counter taco shop on Sunset Blvd. comes via Mexico City, where it’s a popular chain. Our guts telling us it could have similar success here. Early standouts on the menu include the maja, which is a griddled cheese crust that’s been rolled with your choice of protein (get the perfectly salty ribeye) and then wrapped in a soft, transculescent flour tortilla. Then there’s the costeño-campechano, a behemoth of a taco filled with a mix of cecina, homemade chorizo, and chicharron with chopped onions and jalapenos mixed in. It’s a perfect balance between sweet, savory, and spicy, and considering that two will easily fill you up, the $4.40 price point makes for a very affordable meal." - Brant Cox

I never knew a taco that wrapped its meats in a cheese blanket existed and I am so glad they do. It may not look as photo ready as the other two tacos I had but it is one of the best tacos I've ever had. This is a new place in an easy to miss corner of a small set of shops on Sunset Blvd. They have found their way to LA from Mexico City and I'm thrilled they picked a location so close to me to open up. I had three tacos. Maja - cheese crusted beef (protein is up to you, I chose the beef) Campechano - chiccaron and chorizo Pastor - bbq pork The tacos come with sides of grilled/marinated onions and a variety of salsa. Everything was amazing but I'll be dreaming of that cheese crusted beef taco for days!

Today I stopped in to Tacos DM for the first time. The location is clean with cute design. Portions are generous. I had the Maja, rajas con crema and campachano tacos. The horchata is not super sweet which I LOVE. Will be returning soon

Amazing tacos!! The flavors are so unique and nothing like I've had before. Highly recommend the campechano tacos - wow they were delicious! The red salsa was so flavorful, and the green salsa was the perfect balance for the spice in the chorizo. Restaurant is clean and the staff was very friendly. Love that this place came to LA!

Outstanding tacos, if you are in LA and want a taste of tacos just like if you were in Mexico City, this is the place. Bar none, the most authentic Mexican tacos in Los Angeles, I’m Mexican and I back that up! Come and enjoy a campechano taco and a cecina maja.

We've finally got a spot in LA that ports the traditional Mexico City tacos experience. I relocated from Mexico a few years ago and I can't describe enough how hard is to find a taqueria that gets it. With Don Manolito we have now a place in LA that truly understands the complex craft of making a real campechano taco, with the right set of ingredients and flavor. The personnel is incredible and amicable. The place is clean and there were multiple seats available for me and my family. I personally loved the Maja with the right set of red sauce it can be a incredible combination. Congratulations to DM for finally honoring how REAL tacos are made.

What a beautiful place! So comfy, fast and delicious! I got to try the guacamole, the chicken tacos and the cheese quesadilla and all of it was just over the top. It was quite a ride for me from Santa Monica but I might have to find more things to do in this area so I have an excuse to always stop for a taco. Definitely want to try the local Kombucha out of pineapple next time and the steak taco. Highly recommend anybody to check out this place! Best Tacos in LA!

Guacamole, garlic mushroom, fideo seco, tacos de cecina and vegan cochinita pibil. Can’t even choose which one was my favorite. Great price quality ratio. A MUST for all people in LA. I recommend checking hours of operation on instagram :)
