We tried this place for the first time today on my birthday! We were told that it's a good place to get really good Mexican food. The best way I can describe this food I would say is Mexican fast food. I will say it's one of the better places to get Mexican food from, simplyfor the flavor most places don't do that well up here in the PNW. However, this isn't a typical Mexican food place, and even though it was good it's not the place we'd frequent La presa in airway heights is hands down our go to. Tacos El Sol doesn't serve chips and salsa, but they do have a salsa bar. My favorite from their salsa bar would be the avocado cilantro salsa. My husband was hoping for a lot of spice , and said none of the salsas were even hot / spicy to him. He ordered camarones a la diabla and there was no spice to this dish (I tried it myself and I cannot do spicy), so it wasn't up to par there. We even asked if it would be spicy as we know most places in Spokane cannot do spicy. This place doesn't do spicy as they told us it would be very spicy. I ordered the shrimp fajitas, my husband said he liked my dish more than he liked his own. Both of our dishes the shrimp was served with the tails on, this is not typical for Mexican food. We literally had to dig into our shrimp to take off all the tails before we could eat our food. The horchata was really good just less cinnamon-y than it is down south. My husband also liked the horchata better than the jaritos pineapple drink that he got. The service consist of they take your order at a walk up counter, call your name for your food when it's ready, you go and get it and serve yourself, and clean up after yourself. Which it looked like several people did not do. We got there right at opening and the floors were very dirty there was trash on a table and it wasn't wiped up another couple came in behind us and they sat down at a booth that had stuff and trash underneath it. Overall it did look appealing visually otherwise just not very well kept. And the mess that was left there I don't know how long it's been there because we were the first people in the restaurant, they literally had to come unlock the doors for us.
