"Walla Wallans know that when you see this bright orange taco truck (there are actually three) around town, you pull over. A longtime fixture of WW, Tacos la Monarca has been serving up Michoacán-style tacos, burritos, and tortas since 2000, with owner Efrain Reyes taking over the business from his parents in 2012. A grad of Walla Walla Community College’s culinary arts program, Reyes keeps his sources local, and his taco options cover the basics like carnitas, al pastor, and camarones." - Meg van Huygen

Google
Absolutely the BEST taco truck I've ever tried...anywhere! Every time we visit Walla Walla this food truck is on the top of our to-do list. Most trips we come here multiple times. The food is so amazing and the service is great. My favorite go-to order is: (1) Tacos campechanos, (1) Sopes Asada, and (1) Pollo Gordita. It's so much food at an amazing price, you HAVE to eat here!

Ordered 3 tacos: Asada (steak), Al Pastor (pork) and their famous Walla Walla taco as it was suggested by them. All 3 tacos were phenomenal especially the Walla Walla one served with sautéed onions and avocado. The spicy sauce was fresh, savory and spicy indeed. The ladies were nice and fast with their service. Food was well presented and boxed for takeout. I’ll be back for more amazing food. Thank you for your service.

Google
Top tier taco truck! They stay pretty busy because the food is great. Many options on the menu. Perfect little lunch spot with 4 picnic benches on site so you can enjoy the fine weather. Olympic Otter

Google
Easily my favorite Mexican food in Walla Walla! I lived here during school and went almost weekly. Now I get it every time I come in town. No visit to Walla Walla would be complete without La Monarca! I got excited each time I see the orange truck.

Google
Usually the taco trucks like this get the best ratings in town and it's for a reason. They serve up yummy food. I got the Walla Walla burrito because ... Well we were in Walla Walla after all. The onions definitely stood out as the signature agreement and I loved it.

My husband was not happy with his fish taco. It was over cooked yet still soggy some how. My vegitarian quesadia was OK. It could have used some onion.

Great low-key food truck serving fresh and authentic Mexican food. Anybody who appreciates good food will like this spot

Wonderful flavors - their Walla Walla is my 2nd favorite burrito.

Yelp
The food was very good authentic flavors. Fresh taste and very quick. The truck was very professional and clean prices listed upfront. They have tables for outdoor dining. Staff was kind and accommodating.

Yelp
Came here again and discovered that their Walla Walla Asada Tacos or their Walla Walla Pollo Tacos are better than their regular Asada/Pollo tacos. The grilled onions and added cheese makes a WORLD of difference. SO much more delicious goodness and you will NOT regret it. I will NEVER get regular asada/pollo tacos ever again! TRY THE WALLA WALLA POLLO AND ASADA TACOS!! I also tried their asada gorditas. While they are smaller than most places (like Taqueria), I found the taste here was better.

Yelp
Come and get it!! Really good good tacos, if you ever in Walla Walla, hell, if you ever in Washington state you need to come and eat at this truck, everything here is effing good, even the salsas, the price is great also.

Yelp
Best tacos in Walla Walla. Everything we ate here was fire!

Yelp
For a town known for its taco trucks and taquerias, Monarca has THE BEST asada tacos. I'm usually a Walla Walla taco girl: meat of choice, with grilled WW sweet onions, avocado and cheese; but, the flavor of the asada knocks your socks off!! Don't get me wrong... you can order a WW taco with beef...but just the normal asada...whoa, baby!! Another reviewer mentioned the tongue sandwich...not that brave, yet, but trying a sweet onion burrito is definitely on the horizon!

Yelp
Best. Street. Tacos. And burritos. And sopes. The house made sauces and addictive. We stopped by on a day trip to Walla Walla after reading some great yelp reviews. The funky orange food truck lived up to the reviews. The food was ready fast and the prices are great. If you are hungry in Walla Walla, stop at the Monarca

Yelp
I was in Walla Walla on a school break recently and the family I stayed with recommended I hit up La Monarca. Usually I'm wary of taco trucks, but they swore by its deliciousness, so on my way back to Seattle I stopped by to get some food. I got the Burrito Walla with beef and a chorizo taco. The burrito walla was really delicious and filled completely with veg, walla walla sweet onions, and beef. The chorizo taco was pretty damn good, too, and despite the fact that I was totally stuffed after eating all that, I actually would have eaten another one. I also had a bite of my friend's chicken burrito walla, and I have to say the chicken was fantastic. We were there on a rainy day, so service was quick and the food came out quickly. I didn't see any chairs around but I wasn't about to sit out in the rain to eat, anyway. They give you plates, so it's not too messy to just eat in the car.

Yelp
Nice outside area to eat. Cute food truck, nice people. Reasonably priced about $7 a burrito. Only $5 for bean and cheese burrito. The California burrito was pretty good, had fries inside it with steak, onions, cheese and the fries were still crispy. Great texture and very good flavor. The bean and cheese burrito was bland as they used mozzarella cheese rather than cheddar, so that's why 4 stars instead of 5.

Yelp
Favorite place to eat when I'm in town. I've been eating here for a few years ever since they were in the parking lot by Burger King. Walla Walla Pollo Burrito is insanely good.

Andrew H.

Yelp
La Monarca is the place that taught me two things: Sopes exist, and they are delicious. For that, I'll be forever grateful.

Jenni A.

Yelp
Great food! Very flavorful. Craved some tacos. Read the reviews and decided to try it out. Not disappointed in the least. Fast service. Walla walla asado tacos were very favorable!

Yelp
The best carne asada and chicken tacos that I've ever had. Hands down. I've searched in Seattle, Tacoma, LA, Portland. Lo siento (I'm sorry) my friends the best I've ever had is La Monarcha in Walla Walla. They marinate their meats perfectly, have a great proportion of onion, cilantro etc and have very good salsa to go with them. Horchata there is legit as well. If you are in town you gotta give La Monarcha a try.

Yelp
If you're looking for incredibly DELICIOUS tacos, you have got to come here. This food truck on the corner of W Rose st and 11th ave has incredible Mexican food to include tacos, burritos, enchiladas, etc. I got 4 walla walla tacos with chicken which are on corn tortillas with avocado and the incredible walla walla onions. It was $7 for the tacos and the take cash or credit. See the picture because pictures look more delicious than words. Enjoy!!

Yelp
So tasty! Some of the best tacos I've had. Completely stumbled upon this food truck and so glad I did. Next time I'm in Walla Walla, I'll definitely be back!

Yelp
True Story - My wife and I were shopping at the old Albertson's (now Haggens) and the guy in front of us was buying a truckload of meat - all choice cuts. I mentioned that he must be having a big party and he told me he was buying for La Monarca! Excellent taco truck with fresh food, good service and good portions for the $$$. They don't look like much but their grill is pretty magical. They tend to have specials which are also pretty good; I like the California which includes potatoes in the burrito. The Walla Walla tacos and burritos use our local sweet onions and are highly recommended. Not much in the way of seating...best to do take out and go to a nearby local park - weather permitting!

Yelp
Everytime I'm in Walla Walla I stop to get tacos and they never disappoint. Worth every penny, every single time.

Yelp
the one thing i miss the most since i moved away from Walla are all those wonderful taco trucks. in 5+ years i have found nothing even close in the Spokane/CdA vicinity. everytime i come back home it is always the first place i stop. insanely amazing tacos and burritos and that green sauce......omg! i would eat here every darn day. always friendly staff and great prices.

David C.

Yelp
I visited from Houston where the Mexican food is terrific and thought Monarca was equally good if not better. The food came out hot and delicious.

G P.

Yelp
Great, freshly made tacos. The taco with grilled Walla Walla sweets and fresh avocado is fantastic. A couple of plastic chairs are available, but you'll likely be eating sitting on your bumper. Haven't tried the tortas or other items.

Cameo H.

Yelp
This is by far the best "taco wagon" in town. Fresh ingredients and great fast and friendly service. My favorite is the Chicken Walla Walla Tacos....super affordable and oh so good.....good portion size!

Jordan E.

Yelp
I tried the tongue sandwich which came highly recommended from a friend. Normally I would never order it, but the curiosity got the better of me. Hands down, this is one of the BEST sandwiches I have ever put in my mouth! Trying to describe it doesn't do justice, you'll have to try one out for yourself.

J G.

Yelp
I love street food, and even with the trend of gourmet street food popping up all over Seattle, I don't think anything is good as this taco truck. I try to make a trip every time I'm in Walla Walla. Delicious! I recommend the Walla Walla Sweet Burrito. Eat it w/ the spicy green salsa -- it never disappoints. Located in a parking lot, there isn't much seating so it's best to order take out.

Robert D.

Yelp
This is a pretty bold statement, but this place makes hands down if not only the best Mexican in town possibly the best food in town.
