The 17 Best Tacos in the Oakland, Richmond, and the East Bay | Eater SF

"In 2021, Florencia Villa Ayala started one of the area’s first Tijuana-style taco joints, running the pop-up in the front yard of their home in East Oakland. Over the past four years, other Poblanos like Florencia rose to meet the growing demand of the Tijuana style. It should come as no surprise, then, that Tacos Mi Reynita now operates three trucks across Hayward, San Lorenzo, and San Jose. Whether rain or shine, fans line up for mesquite-grilled asada and crispy, juicy al pastor atop handmade corn tortillas and finished with a huge gob of fresh guacamole. Top it off with your choice of one of eight different salsas that Florencia carefully crafts herself." - Lena Park

Tacos Mi Reynita - Review - Fruitvale - San Francisco - The Infatuation

"Tacos Mi Reynita warrants its perpetual crowds—the East Oakland food truck serves fantastic Tijuana-style tacos. Take your pick of charcoal-grilled meat, which gets blanketed in a dollop of velvety guacamole before being tightly swaddled in a sturdy housemade tortilla. The lengua and cabeza are each as juicy as they are smoky, and you should have at least two of each on your yellow paper-wrapped plate. Another perk to coming here: the truck has a bunch of picnic tables out front, so you won’t have to get beef drippings on your driver’s seat." - Julia Chen

The Surprising Shared History of the Taqueros Behind the East Bay Tijuana-Style Taco Boom | Eater SF

"Started by a family who moved to Oakland from San Miguel Atlapulco, Puebla, this stand was born when the owners shifted from selling tamales to making Tijuana-style tacos with handmade corn tortillas and flame-grilled meats to fill a gap in the Bay Area market; their approach emphasizes mesquite-grilled carne asada, juicy trompos of adobada, a huge dollop of guacamole, and the freshly pressed corn tortillas wrapped in a thin yellow square of paper, and the taqueros behind it are part of the broader Poblano tradition that brought the style north." - Lena Park

Tacos Mi Reynita: Oakland’s Tijuana-Style Taco Pop-Up That’s Earned a Cult Following | Eater SF

"The first thing I noticed driving past was the always-long line at this popular East Oakland pop-up that emerged onto the taco scene a year and a half ago. Tacos Mi Reynita serves a distinctive Tijuana-style taco—mesquite-grilled meats on hand-pressed corn tortillas topped with diced onion, cilantro, and a thick dollop of guacamole—and the family-run operation, named after Florencia Villa Ayala’s mother Reyna, clearly explains the hype. I learned they started by selling 500 tamales a day before switching to tacos after a relative suggested the idea, posting on Facebook Marketplace in early 2021 and moving from in front of their home near the Oakland–San Leandro border to a semi-permanent parking lot as demand surged. Florence wakes up early to marinate meats, make eight flavor-packed salsas, and press a mountain of masa; relatives grill asada, chorizo links, and tripa, roast al pastor on a trompo, and assemble orders at record-breaking speeds—piling smoky hunks of meat onto freshly gridded tortillas, flicking on onion and cilantro, smearing a gob of guacamole, and wrapping each taco in a thin square of paper. Their drinks are a standout too: 100 percent fruit-based agua frescas in uncommon Bay Area flavors like mango–passionfruit, cucumber–lime with chia, and the popular fresa con leche. With a family of about 15 helping out and dreams of expanding to a fleet of food trucks, the operation is energetic, deeply rooted in family recipes, and, in my experience, absolutely worth the wait." - Lena Park

Google
Omg the fresh passion fruit guava juice is out of this world!!! The tacos with fresh tortillas and all the different salsas at the bar to pick from is heavenly. The other best part is the guacamole 🥑 laid on at the end. The whole menu is big and all looks amazing I can’t wait to try them.

Google
Tijuana style Hella bomb! Bomb food and frescas! You will not be disappointed. Also, the line gets pretty long, so it's worth the wait. Recommend cabesa tacos and mulita! Peanut salsa sooo bomb!!

Jasmine Y.

Google
Tacos are solid and they are quite generous with their meat servings! The prices are good too. The meat is a little bland for my preferences, but I would come back. Staff are very nice. Cabeza was the best.

Daniel H.

Google
The cabeza and lengua were soooo good, some of the best I have ever had! Pastor and Birria were okay, I have had better. Those tortillas = yes please, all day hand rolled amazing!

Google
I’ve been to quite a number of taquerias in the Bay Area, Mexico City, Guadalajara, Quintana Roo, Guatemala, LA (😂) and other places and I can say that this place is magical and perhaps in my top 3 taquerias in the Bay Area. I had Pastor, Lengua, asada, cabeza and vampiro de asada. Cabeza was my favorite, top notch! Make sure you try the aguas frescas, specifically the Mango & Maracuya, it was a great surprise!

Google
I think....overrated...Handmade Tortillas is Awesome Yes... but the meat is just average (and salty). They threat you like any successful street food business doing good: Lack of good manners, lack of attention...rushing you to order and the guys making the tacos are also rude with people asking relevant regular customer questions. Long waiting lines...I am not going back...kudos to the ladies making the tortillas...they are the only rockstars of this Overrated alternative. Salsas are ok.

Google
Best Carne Asada tacos I’ve ever had. They make everything fresh on the spot from the meat to the tortillas. 4 Carne Asada tacos with everything on on them and a large Mango Passionfruit agua fresca sheeeesh. They give you foil for you to get your own limes and cucumbers as well as 3 containers to choose your own sauces. They take CASH and ZELLE. You will not be disappointed

Google
My wife and I both got food poisoning from their new location in san lorenzo.I would stay away, they have no running hot water. The meat did not taste fresh and we were in the hospital for twelve hours

Yelp
my bff has been ranting about this place for quite some time now so happy I got a chance to check em out few weeks ago with her. I had quite the appetite so I ordered the crunchwrap along with 2 birria tacos with cheese. The birria here is DEF one of the best I've had in the bay so far! the quality tasting meat and consume?!!! LAWWWWDDDD. I dipped everything in it matter of fact I poured the consume over everything this round LOL. Now lets gets into this crunchwrapp. It was filled and stuffed with so much meat and toppings! they did not skimp out 1 bit at all! I also poured the remaining of my consume into this thang to give it an extra kick. Side disclaimer: they are on a church parking lot. Someone form the church has been talking to everyone in line to not park there and eat but he is literally doing the same thing and eating in his car. Not to sure what is going on but you need to find st parking or someone from the church will force you out of there. Service is fast as they can be. They have a big line so it took a decent amount of time. but well worth the wait. They have plastic table and chairs for their customer to eat and bounce out! DEF a fan and cant wait to come back for the pizza!

Yelp
My favorite taco spot in Oakland. They make their own tortillas and I love how soft their street tacos are. I got the campechano vampiro, lengua taco and Al pastor taco. The campechano was a little messy to eat bc it's chopped meat and chorizo. The Al pastor and lengua are my favorite. Parking can be tough, as it is street parking only. Cash preferred and they have QR code for payment

Yelp
I finally tried Tacos Mi Reynita after hearing so many good things, and wow, the Al Pastor burrito did not disappoint! This taco truck is a serious contender for the best burrito I've ever had. The Al Pastor is perfectly seasoned, with that classic smoky-sweet flavor and just the right amount of char. The pork is juicy and tender, and the pineapple they mix in gives it this amazing balance of sweet and savory. They don't skimp on the fillings either--every bite is packed with meat, beans, and rice, all wrapped up in a warm, soft tortilla that holds together really well. What really sets it off, though, is their salsa. It has a nice kick without being overpowering and ties all the flavors together. It's clear they know what they're doing here. If you're anywhere near this truck, do yourself a favor and grab an Al Pastor burrito. Trust me, it's worth it!

Yelp
This is for the San Jose location. I tried the Quesataco Asada & Chorizo taco. It was AMAZING. Everything complemented each other hella good from the handmade tortillas to the scoop of guacamole and char flavor of the Carne asada FIREEEEEEE. The chorizo was some of the best chorizo I've tried you can tell it's all home made definitely would recommend Service was good, There was a long line but it went by pretty quick so I can't complain The San Jose location is inside a small parking lot used for like a " mini micro food hall " But I've gone 2 times already and got parking so that was a plus ! I also tried the " papa loca " on the 2nd try but it lacked flavor. It needed a bit of salt and just didn't hit the same as the tacos so that's where the Minus start comes from but other than that definitely check it out

Yelp
A few people in line ahead of me when arrived. My friend and I had looked at the menu and photos on Yelp ahead of time and honestly it didn't help. There were so many delicious looking items. Person at the window took my order, was super clear and precise. It took a bit of time to get our order. There were probably 6 orders ahead of ours, and it took maybe 10 minutes? It felt longer because it was cold outside lol thankfully there are tables. It wasn't loud, patrons are decently quiet. Just normal East Oakland traffic sounds. Everything I ordered was delicious. The asada and birria tacos, and the sope. Will definitely be returning to try other items. Especially the burrito. That looked real good.

Yelp
I was in the area and am a huge fan of Tacos Mi Reynita's San Lorenzo location, so decided to stop by their Oakland one after a concert since they were open late! The difference in ambiance definitely stood out - the truck here seems to be a little more formal since there's security, and various picnic tables to sit and eat. I'd give it a 3.5 but will round up! We ordered ~10 tacos and got a mix of pastor and lengua. The al pastor was honestly a little underwhelming and dry... I'm wondering if it's because we came a little closer to closing time and got the last bits of the machine? No idea. The lengua though I was a huge fan of! It was well marinated and wasn't too chewy. The tortillas also didn't fare amazingly well in the takeout box after a ~20 minute drive. Parking is limited, there were maybe 2 spots in the lot with the security guard. But there's more street parking available, so we didn't find it to be a hassle.

Yelp
This is now one of my favorite spots for Mexican food! It's located in a parking lot, so kind of weird. You have to either find parking on the street or in the lot across the street. Every time I have come here, it's been super busy. You order up by the truck and have to pick it up once your number is called. There is seating, but it is fairly limited. Also note that this is outside and open to the elements, so keep the weather in mind when coming here! We ordered a few different types of tacos and a quesadilla. They were very well-filled and delicious. Probably some of the better tacos I've had in a while! The thing that really made it for me is the salsa bar though!! There is a huge assortment of sauces to choose from to enhance your meal, and it's self-serve so you can get how much or how little you need. I ended up trying all of the salsa options. Do not sleep on the salsa bar! This is a spot that I would go out of my way to go to, it was that good. I do want to come back to try their other offerings, including the quesabirria!

Yelp
Best tasting tacos I've had in a while. Had it without salsa (bc covid made me sensitive to spice) and it was still incredibly delicious. Had tacos de lengua and cabeza the meat was incredibly tender and fresh.

Yelp
Yummy yummy my first time getting a burrito here and it was delicious!!!!! I usually get tacos but this burrito hit the spot hard! Ask for salsa limón pepino cebollitas and jalapeño on the side . I couldn't finish the burrito but sooo very good!

Yelp
Wow. This place was fantastic! Everything you want from a food truck. I wish it were closer proximity to my home. If you're ever in the East Bay, this one is my favorite I've had. Parking sucks on the narrow crowded street. We opted to risk it and park at the Auto Zone across from it. It was worth the risk. What's nice is that they have an awning and tables set up and most people just share the picnic benches. The agua fresca I ordered was delicious. I opted for pineapple. There were small bits of pineapple in the drink which I loved. I ordered 4 tacos which come TJ style. 2 were steak and 2 were al pastor that came from the spit. I want to confess that their steak was tender and packed with flavor. I usually say pastor is the way to go at taquerias, but this one was fire. Pastor B- Steak (carne asada) A Of course, I had to try their birria. I ordered a burrito which all come in the super form with guacamole and sour cream. I ordered mine without beans. The birria was great! If I had to rate the birria I'd say it was A2 and the steak was A1. (No pun intended) It wasn't super oily and it had a good flavor to it. Birria A- Overall, the experience was great and I will come here any time I'm in the East Bay!

Yelp
Incredibly disappointing, disastrous and dissatisfying. Was craving tacos and saw this place on Instagram and it had great reviews so figured I'd give it a try. The food took forever to come out and when I finally got it, they got my order wrong (one of the meats was wrong.) The quesabirria tasted like burnt stove and the carne asada tacos were bland as hell. The salsas were watery and tasteless and the consume had to be doctored up with extra seasoning and tasted burnt as well. The burnt taste was so overpowering that it was nasty actually and reminiscent of gasoline, so I didn't have anymore. One of the salsas tasted like it had peanuts in it which no one made mention of so beware if you have an allergy! The location isn't in friendliest of communities but you can park in the auto zone across the street at your own risk. I will certainly not be back.

Yelp
Glad to find this quick taco spot! It's a good truck set up. Ordered the tripa and cabeza tacos with avocado sauce and a horchata. Been looking for a place that had tripa and was happy to see it here. However it tasted a bit over cooked or not fresh. The meat was tough and hard to chew through compared to the crispy tripa tacos that I love. The cabeza meat was tender and good. The tacos came w several sauce choices, cucumbers, limes, and small onions. The horchata was really good! Affordable prices and quick service! They accept cash, zelle, or cash app. It's located in a fenced area with security and limited parking. There are a few sit down tables. Would come back again to try the other proteins!

Yelp
The hype pulled us here. Street parking is very limited so come early or prepare to risk a ticket parking across the street in the plaza and run across a very busy road (do not recommend). I love how they have someone taking the orders of those in line and when you pay, you just hand them the ticket. Wait was slow but honestly it's super busy. We came at 4pm on a Saturday and still waited 25 mins in line and another 20 mins to get our food. Burrito: 5/5 Tacos: 4/5 Strawberry and crème drink: 3/5 (very heavy on the cream)

Yelp
My boyfriend follows Tacos Mi Reynita on IG, so one day we decided to take a trip out to try them. He loves any place that has a Trompo and makes good Al Pastor. They are a taco truck that has some added tents around it for additional work space and eating spaces. Popularity has hit this truck, so be prepared to come early or wait a little longer. The line was LONG, like 20 people long and took about 20-30 minutes to order and another 15 minutes to get the food. Luckily there was a store across the street to distract my little one with. Food was good and loved the salsa bar. We ordered a strawberry cream aqua fresca, like 3-4 tacos and one carne asada super burrito. My burrito was so big, I ate 1/3 there and took the rest home and that was eaten as another meal. There were a few different salsas, grilled peppers and onions, radishes, etc. I love all the extras. This place is good! Check it out.

Yelp
Maybe something has changed...went here based on the Instagram videos I've seen where they are grilling asada over coals and setup outside...showed up and it was a regular taco truck with not many folks there literally in the middle of their hours open. Ordered a burrito asada ....the meat was good and could have been grilled but was kept in a steamer it looked like taking away from any grilled flavor. The tortilla seemed fresh made and the rest of the ingredients weren't anything special. Apparently this place isn't quite the same anymore ?! Not worth the drive to east oakland.

Yelp
FIRST TIMER! I got 3 Tacos & a Large Pineapple Agua Fresca Lengua Carne Asada Al Pastor In order of what I listed above, was my favorite to least favorite. The LENGUA was FRESH and soft, yet meaty. There was a bit of tripe in there too. Loved it. The CARNE ASADA was really good too. The meat was smokey and perfectly seasoned. The AL PASTOR was lack luster, I would not order it again. All the salsas were great, my favorite was the habanero, it was hot but it doesn't lose that salsa flavor. I will definitely be coming back to try other things. Their outdoor seating was nice. There were a lot of people waiting for a table. I scooped one up Costco food court style. Waited next to the table while people were finishing off their food. There was only 2 of us, so we ended up sharing the table with another couple. It was nice chatting with them. So, if you don't mind, be nice and open up your table to other people. 6 tacos and a drink cost use $28. They take CASH, ZELLE & CASHAPP only.

Yelp
Amazing tacos located in San Leandro! My friends and I were heading to Oakland for a concert and before heading there, we decided to do a pit stop in San Leandro for some tacos. One of my friends recommended this place after seeing many influencers try this spot out. The area itself was a little sketchy and parking could be difficult since it is street parking. Once we got to taco truck, we looked at the menu and there was a great variety of meats to choose for tacos! I decided to do one pastor, one tripa (beef intestine), and one lengua (beef tongue). My favorite has to be the tripa! I love eating beef intestine and I never had a tripa taco but upon trying it, it was my new favorite meat for a taco. It was so smoky and crispy but it wasn't too oily. The pastor was my next favorite since it was also just as flavorful and bonus points for the added guac! The lengua was just alright since it was kind of bland and dry. They have radishes, cucumbers, smoked peppers, and a huge array of mild to burn your tongue spicy salsas to decorate your tacos with. Though it is out of the way for me to return constantly, I will definitely stop by here again if I'm ever in the area.

Yelp
This place has been on my list to visit and I finally came by their Oakland location to check it out. It was a drive but curiosity got the best of me and I had to know what these tacos taste like! I wanted to come on a weekday to avoid the crowds and the parking cuz it looks rough out here to find parking. Found parking right out front and went in to no line. Ordered a mini quesadilla, 1 taco de asada, 1 pastor taco, and a vampiro campechano. The kiddo ordered 3 tacos (asada, pastor, chicken). The agua frescas looked refreshing and I had a sample of one that looked like pineapple but it was a different fruit. We waited about 5 min and our food was ready. Salsa in a small container and napkins in another container in front of the truck. I didn't know what salsa to get so I got one of each to try. There's tables to eat there but it was a rainy and cold day so in the car we ate. This food is always best eaten right away. Leave it in the container too long and the condensation makes the fresh handmade tortillas soggy. The pastor was so flavorful and delicious my fav. The asada was fine nothing special. Light on the onion and cilantro topping. The glop of avocado salsa is so delicious and refreshing to the big taco with a good portion of meat. The salsas are spicy and each have their own unique flavor. My fav was the orange one which I assume had to have some habanero in it cuz that was so spicy! But it was so flavorful! The quesadilla was really good dipped in any of the salsas. The vampiro was crunchy and full of asada and chorizo. The agua fresca was refreshing and delicious. My kiddo enjoyed all 3 of the tacos. I enjoyed everything I ate. I will definitely be bringing my fam to check them out and I expect to wait if it's the weekend and hustle for parking. Service was very straightforward and transactional. One side takes the orders and gives you your order number the other side gives you your order. Best eaten right away for the best eating experience. Definitely a delicious and well priced taco. The hype has not blown their prices to extremes as I have seen in other places and I can appreciate getting a good meal that makes me full for a good price. Definitely worth the drive up!

Yelp
Mi Reynita = My Queen and is definitely the place to come! This place was recommended to me and I do not regret having a try. It was definitely worth the drive from the Berkeley area. The food and salsa was amazing! You can taste a peanut flavor in one of the salsa's that will have me coming back. While it is a larger taco truck setup, there are cute little tables with stringed light to enjoy your food outside. If the weather permits, the area makes for a cute eating spot. Lastly, service was more than adequate. Everyone was really friendly and made some recommendations for the aquas frescas. Note: The earlier you go the better, this place can run out of some really yummy options.

Yelp
Food - 1 Atmosphere - 2 Service - 2 Service- The individual who took my order was really paying attention to me and seemed to be more talking to the cooks. Seemed very uninterested in taking the order if that makes sense. Atmosphere- Not a lot of people on arrival about 9:30pm so I thought that was kind of odd, especially since the place had a good reviews (not that busy is always a sign of good food, but still) They have nice covered eating areas where you can eat. Food- I ordered 4... why did I order 4 tacos. Anyway... I ordered 2 carne asada & 2 pastor tacos. They both come with onions, cilantro, & guacamole salsa. I rarely say this about tacos but everything was completely trash I didn't finish it. The guac had an odd flavor, tasted like expired guac. It was so much guac on each taco, Im assuming they thought it would drown out the flavor. The one tortilla they had for the tacos was completely soggy & broke when you picked up the taco. The meat on the pastor was completely greasy as you can see on the picture and had no flavor except for the grease. The carne asada was chewy and tasted old. The salsas were all flavorless and tasted expired. I got the mango and passion fruit aqua fresca. It was not strained at all and I had to constantly spit out seeds and stands of fruit from my mouth. I didn't even finish my food nor the drink! It was very disappointing. I hope this was just a one time thing, however I won't be back.

Yelp
Living up to the hype with trompo and hand made tortillas. As a Oakland native, it seems that everyone had their favorite taco truck. Sometimes you're locked in by geography to exposure. Luckily, I was willing to spend the 20 mins going crosstown to sample the skillzzzz..... The menu is solid and has all the faves. We went with lengua, tripa, Asado and pastor tacos. Unlike other taquerias that use machine tortillas that require 2 stacked together, these hand made gems can withstand to nest without breaking. I would have taken pictures if I weren't so greedy in getting down on my plate. The lines are deservedly long, but you'll have time to set up with salsa, charred green onions and chiles from the condiment guy. Your patience will be rewarded.

Yelp
One of my favorite taco spots!!!! Their location in Oakland is better in my opinion but still some fire asz tacos!! You will not be disappointed. Handmade tortillas, delicious salsas, and most importantly some fresh flavorful meats!

Yelp
As we approached the taco truck, we see smoke in the air - it's the meat grilling. The smell in the air was great. Parking was a little difficult as it's street parking only and since there are so many people in line, that means lots of people already found parking spots. Long lines always mean one thing... the food is worth the wait! We found parking about a block away and joined the line. The lined moved rather quickly and someone came out to take our orders since the line was long. It's cash only, so remember to bring some! We ordered 2 al pastor, 1 carne asada, 1 campechano (carne asada and chorizo), 1 lengua, and 1 cabeza. After you order, they will give you a few sauce containers for the salsa. You'll head over to the line in the middle and get your salsas. There are so many different ones and honestly I wish there was a label for the sauces so I know which one to try. I got an orange one, tomato one, and a green one. I wasn't a fan of the orange one as it was way too creamy, a little sweet, and a little spicy. A few minutes later, the tacos were ready, they call you by number, so stand nearby to listen for it. They do call it in Spanish, but I think they switch to English if someone doesn't come after awhile. The tacos were so big and full of meat, it was great! It is more expensive here compared to other taco trucks, but the quality and quantity makes up for it. The taco shells looks like they are made fresh and they only do one taco shell and not 2, which I love! They also don't put salsa on the tacos, so that's why they give out the sauce containers. There are a few tables on the left but seats do come available quickly, so just hang tight. The tacos were all really good. My favorite was cabeza then campechano, then al pastor, but they were all really good and I would definitely come again and try different ones, like birria!

Yelp
I give them 4.5 stars so im rounding up. The lines are long but it is efficient and totally worth it. They came through the line and wrote our order down on a slip so that when we made it to window 1 we could hand the slip over and pay. Window 2 was for drinks and cups for salsa (I assume for call in orders, too). You can see them grilling the meat and making the tortillas so it's entertaining while you wait. I ordered carne asada tacos (4.5 Stars), a quesobirria taco (3 stars), and jamaica (5 stars). My partner ordered carne asada tacos (he gave it 5 stars), lengua tacos (he gave it 4 stars), and horchata (he gave it 4.5 stars). He wanted to try the carnitas but they were out of pork so I assume its pretty popular. The tacos come on a handmade tortilla and include meat, cilantro, onion, and guac. We cant wait to come back and try more items, The salsas were all fresh and flavorful. The meat wasn't the most flavorful meat I've ever had BUT it was quality, tender, and had that fresh grill flavor so once topped with salsa it was great! I didnt get a bunch of fat with the steak, which was appreaciated. The menu has something for everyone, including mushrooms (champiñones) for vegetarians. We saw them making burritos and they weren't stingy with the meat/filling at all, it would def be two meals for me. The mango passionfruit agua fresca seems pretty popular so I cant wait to try that on my next visit too. We wanted the complete experience this time around but next time we will definitely take advantage of calling the order in.

Yelp
We had high hopes for this food truck - inflated because of the throngs of people we see gathered here in the evenings. We waited in line for 10 minutes. The couple behind us vouched for the food. "It's good," she said assuredly. And, that statement rang true for the tacos. Money well spent. The grilled chicken burrito on the other hand was memorable, and not in a good way. Shucks, 12 bucks wasted. The meat was rancid. Totally disgusting. I took one bite, pondered on what I was tasting and decided to take another bite just to verify what I feared: our main course entree was headed for the trash can. My wife confirmed my suspicion with a sample taste - we lamented while probing the refrigerator for left overs. Lesson learned i.e. order from street vendors at your own risk and start small with tacos or ask to sample the meat. Aside from my mouth being ambushed by the super burrito, we have no complaints. Service was friendly. We would've stayed to eat outdoors under the canopy but my wife smartly guided us home as the smoke from the grills was a bit intoxicating. Perhaps, just perhaps, this was a one-off. I can't say I'll return anytime soon to find out.

Yelp
Oakland gets a bad rep and I blame gentrification and the lack of assistance but that's another conversation. Don't let all the stereotypes of Oakland deter you from this place. Yes, you're borderline in the hood, yes, there are unhoused folk about a block down, but don't let this deter you. Along the border of San Leandro and East Oakland, before the environment changes drastically is this gem of an establishment that must be protected at all costs. If you see people double-parked along International next to a food stand, then it must be fiiiyaaaah/cherry/lit/smack or whatever slang is equivalent to this nowadays (oh gosh am I aging myself). Tijuana tacos are supreme and they my friends, do it right. Handmade, soft, tortillas are cooked to perfection. Meat is seasoned so that it compliments, not overpowers the array of homemade salsas. Guac, the shining star, is plopped on top of every taco like a blanket and boy, they do not skimp. The accompanying grilled onions, jalapeños, radishes, and sliced cucumbers add that extra level of crunch and flavor to the already delicious taco. Their agua Frescas are equally just as noteworthy. My personal favorite is the cucumber. Drink half and pour a shot of tequila/vodka or whatever floats your boat, and you've got yourself a damn good cocktail - think a spa collins but 10x better. If you're looking for a reasonably priced meal without breaking the bank AND if you're not scared to venture a little (please don't be, you're missing out!), then this is it. It's giving queen of tacos vibes, literally.

Yelp
This is my go to place for tacos, burritos and anything delicious in Oakland. I love their fresh made tortillas and their quesadillas are my go to. I decided to try a crunch wrap and was pleasantly surprised. The tostada inside was a fresh made fried tortilla. I recommend this place we have ordered over the phone before and when we arrive we still had to wait, so I don't know if that's much of a help.

Yelp
One of the few places where the hype is real! I can't believe that I'm fortunate to live so close to Tacos Mi Reynita and did not even know about them until recently due to them popping on on ig constantly. I'm blown away by how fresh everything is here. Starting from the super freshly made tortillas, to the charred grilled meats, to all of the salsas and toppings offerings. Almost everything is crazy spicy, one of those instances where you keep eating because it so good, but it's so spicy that you know your stomach will pay for it later, but so worth it! My favorite are their vampiros; so glad their one of the few places that offers them!

Yelp
About a 30 minute wait in the line, plus another 20-25 minutes after ordering for the food - but I thought the Asada Tacos were worth the wait. Smokey and tender asada coupled with fresh tortillas and plenty of cilantro and diced onion garnish. Oh and topped with a heaping spoon of light guacamole -- super delicious! They have a wonderful array of salsas as well as limes, cucumbers, and radishes, all self serve. Loved the peanuty orange, habanero, and avocado salsas. Highly recommended! P.S. tried a few other things - the quesataco was also pretty good! But the tacos were the hit for me.

Yelp
One of the BEST Tijuana-Style Tacos Pop-Ups around. Freshly made tortillas for every taco and burrito. The asada is cooked to perfection and the quesabirria tacos are very good. The chorizo is very tasty and not oily. 4 to 5 different salsa to choose from. They have 4 to 5 different type of acquafresca. My favorite is the mango/passion fruit. I come here at least 3 to 4 times a month. You cant go wrong with this place.

Yelp
Friendly service. Tortillas were SO fresh. Guac was delicious. Price was right. Seating available outside the truck in a fenced-off area. Will definitely be back.

Yelp
HURRY!!! If you haven't been here you have to come and get some of this delicious tacos. The flavor on the meat is the best and the tortillas fresh made they remind me Mexico since we have a similar place in my hometown in Jalisco. The line is always long so please be patient.

Yelp
There's usually a line but it's worth it. Their al pastor tacos are the best along with the carne asada and chicken. The mango passion fruit agua frescas wins everytime.

Yelp
This is a taco truck so I can't do five stars because it's a truck not a full restaurant. I enjoy all three different tacos that I had look forward to trying more the rest of their menu at our next visit. The handmade tortillas is really set the tacos aside.

Yelp
Pretty solid but I wish the food was warmer. I think the new restrictions have made it such that they can't have the hot grill on. They are in a new location make sure to check their ig for the latest location it's right in front of the auto mart. There is plenty of outdoor seating. Service was great! I wish the meat was seasoned more evenly. I had a few tacos that were too salty but others that were great.

Yelp
We got the pastor, lengua, birria, and carne asada tacos. The lengua was tender, carne asada charred and smoky, and pastor full of flavor. The only taco we wouldn't get again is the birria. The meat was a little ry and there was no cheese to help it bind. Otherwise, the tacos were delicious! We'll be back for more :)

Yelp
Amazing tacos!!!!! $3.25 for a delicious taco! The salsas are all amazing and the guac is to die for! The horchata was great too. Every single bite of my burrito was filled with flavor. My friend got a quessabirria and she loved it! Looked delicious.

Yelp
It is a 4.5 stars but I am rounding up rather than down! The location is not where you think it is going to be. Reminds me of LA street taco vibes. There are a lot of options on the menu. Homemade tortillas! you see these ladies churning them out so quick. I got lengua, tripa and asada tacos. The perfect crispy tripa tacos was my fav. All of them hit the spot though. There is a salsa bar. def will be back. i am hesitant to give such a good review because the line are long and already very popular. for my own selfish reasons.

Yelp
I started buying food from Tacos Mi Reynita when the were located on 94th & International back in April 2022. I still have a picture of their original menu which states that ALL tacos come with guacamole. Everything still came with guacamole when they moved to the corner of Bristol Blvd & International. The burritos used to be HUGE. They moved again one block down which is where they are located currently at the corner of 107th & international. I got tacos and a burrito last time was here. The tacos didn't have any guacamole because I didn't ask for any when I placed my order. I didn't know this because everything came with guacamole. $1 per taco for guac is what the cooks said. I feel like it's a ripoff because they only throw enough guac on the front of the taco to make it look pretty and presentable but after you open the taco the remaining half doesn't have gauc. I got the tripas burrito. I like the tripas extra crisp. Soggy tripas are no bueno. I ask them to deep fry the tripas longer and they told me it was an extra dollar to deep fry them well..WTH! No taco truck/stand I've been to chargers an extra buck for well done tripas. I paid the extra dollar and didn't find out til I got home that they didn't give me well done tripas. They gave me the same soggy tripas that were sitting there. Plus the burritos got smaller and more expensive. Before I left I asked the lady taking my order since when they started charging $1 for guac. She said it has always been like that. I told her it wasn't true and I showed her a pic of their original menu which says everything came with guac. She paused and didn't know what to say. Even the grilled onions and the green chili pepper is an extra dollar and it used to be free. I think they have gotten a bit greedy. This is why I think La Parrilla Loca has more customers because everything come with guac at no extra charge.

Yelp
This place was great! So many options and you really can't go wrong with any of them. Had a few chorizo and carne asada tacos. Loved the salsa options to really make each taco your own! Also the passion fruit mango drink was super refreshing. Highly recommend. One thing to note: expect a line around the corner of the street, but we'll worth the wait!

Yelp
Once were awesome when they were in the church parking lot....grill going, long lines wrapped around the corner. Today....they moved down the street. The grill is no longer going, no salsa bar, no jugs of juices offered for the day...Just a total different experience than i had previous times. I think I'll my queso tacos weren't like they were the last few times. Wish I had more salsa options, than Verde. Eh....check it out for yourself.

Yelp
Great spot for your late night TJ style tacos. Got both Lengua and Pastor tacos and they were both fire! Don't sleep on the Mango/Passion Fruit Agua Fresca.

Yelp
Food was bomb! Service was great and all the employees were amazing. The sitting area was small so be prepared to wait for a space to open or take to go.

Yelp
I just went by on a Thursday at 4 o'clock. And no one was there! did this business move or close? I was a fan, so I'm hoping they're open somewhere.

Yelp
Everything here was incredible. I just came back from Mexico and it's basically the same quality. The seating area is much better than the old location. The prices are perfect. The service is as good as it gets for a food trucks. Highly recommend this as a staple goto in Oakland.

Yelp
All the tacos I tried were . I tried Al pastor, carne asada, and de lengua. I also thought the horchata and agua fresca de pepino was really good too so I would recommend those too. Definitely coming back again.

Yelp
Great after work bite! Tacos Mi Reynita at International and 107th near the San Leandro border. (UPDATE: they just posted on Instagram that they're moving to 101st and International in East Oakland, to give customers access to easy parking by the Auto Zone!!) They serve authentic Tijuana style tacos, full of grilled meats and a dollop of guacamole (no extra charge!), all on a freshly made tortilla. Heaven for $3.25. Opens at 4 pm and goes through till 10:30 at night. Yeah, that's a trompo, so their al pastor is traditional. Meat choices: Carne asada Al pastor Chorizo Cabeza Lengua Birria Pollo Tripa All tacos come on handmade tortilla, with free guacamole!

Yelp
For my anxiety people. Order where the drink lady is. The cart with the windows is NOT where you order. If you're in a line the. You won't have to figure that out. Cash only. Zelle is an option. Once you order you can get sauce containers. Use the FOIL for the big items like like and cucumber. When they say your order number it will most likely be in Spanish. Brush up. It's also loud so pay attention. For my foodies. You will only be able to eat like 3 tacos. Highly rec quesatacos. Steak & pork. Try their drinks. I tried reg taco, quesadilla, sope, Vampiro. And the most memorable was the cheese taco. Best taco I've ever had Sope was very filling. Quesadilla is just filling. Will definitely come again. Also they literally hand dump the meat on your food. The social media is real.

Yelp
Horchata was bomb! Chicaron tacos weren't crispy enough, asada beef tacos with everything was good! Burrito with chorizo and asada was really good salty goodness that my husband loves! Would love to try their vampiro, pastor and champecino next time!
