The food is excellent. You can taste the various ingredients, everything is so fresh and imbued with flavor and put on the plate to balance all the flavors harmoniously.I tried the pork belly burrito bowl and was really impressed by the preparation of the pork belly: wonderfully crispy skin, with just a little unctuous fat on the inside. Not greasy, just perfect. The horchata too, was the best I’ve had. Cinnamon-y silkyness. Maybe not the cheapest option, but worth it!

I've tried multiple spots in Bay Ridge, and this is my favorite for tacos so far. I ordered shredded beef, grilled chicken, and tinga, they were all delicious. My favorite for now is their tinga taco, but I would like to try more flavors next time. So glad I was recommended this place.

The tacos, guacamole, and nachos were seriously delicious, and the staff was super friendly and on it. It’s a laid-back, cafeteria-style spot—order at the counter, and they’ll call you when your food’s ready. It’s becoming really popular, so there might be a wait of up to an hour, but it’s totally worth it. If the wait is feeling long, just ask for your nachos, guac, and drinks first so you can snack and chill while you wait!

We came for lunch. I usually like some meat but these veggie dishes were incredibly tasty. They also had a lot of meat dishes that looked juicy and flavorful. Service was timely and very friendly. I highly recommend this place. Definitely coming back.

Fantastic meal. I had the grilled chicken burrito for pickup. The burrito was the perfect size and very filling. The chicken was perfectly grilled and had a decent season on it. The two sauces that came with it added more flavor to the meal. It also came with a side of crispy chips.

This place is absolute FIRE! Authentic Mexican Taco joint. Family owned and they treat the customers really nice. The sauces and flavors are next level. The owner will make specialty dishes if you ask. (Lots of Vegan options too). I eat a lot of food so if I leave a review, the food is bussin.

Ordered the taco platter, it cost twice as much as the menu prices online.The tacos are small, but very meaty not much vegetable and I gotta say they’re very good, delicious. The sauces are also delicious, I ordered rice and beans on the side.

Ain't no way you are charging people 8$ for a quesadilla and serving a taco instead.. this is literally a Taco. How have no one said a thing about this in the comments, it's crazy. Tacos here, very delicious but quesadilla on a taco tortilla and serving it just like a taco for 8$ it's no bueno business.

I've come back a few times for take out since my last review and I'm glad to say the food is still great! They have five or six tables and there was only one empty table on a Saturday afternoon. You will notice how clean everything is, the staff are friendly and accommodating. The one word to describe the business in "consistent." Pricing is fair, they have several items on their six inch taco menu that's purchase one get the second taco 50% off. You can get tacos, burrito bowls, empanadas, salads, sides, drinks and more. We had the wild salmon tacos which were really, really good. We also had the surf and turf taco which was steak and shrimp. Also great. I had a side dish of sweet plantains which is like adding a desert. I have never ordered a dish that was not bursting with flavor. I did not meet the owner Pedro although I see he responds to a good number of the Yelp reviews. In a side note their bathroom is large and always clean. I'm glad they appear to be doing well and hope they will thrive in this tough economy.

This place has become my new go-to spot for tacos. I love the 12 tacos platter deal for $35. You can choose up to 3 choices of protein. My favorite choices are the al pastor, chorizo and beef. Pair the tacos with their house made fresh watermelon juice ($5) -- can't go wrong! Not to mention, their customer service is great and always friendly! I highly recommend this place if you are in the area and craving for some authentic Mexican tacos

We stopped here in a Saturday evening and it wasn't that busy inside. The decor inside is very simple. A few tables and chairs. It's not really for dining in. They do a lot of takeout. So we waited for a long time for our food even though only a few customers were there dining. For the wait time, I would give only a 3 stars. But the food saved the day. The steak taco and fish taco I got were very tasty; 9/10. They were a bit expensive. The steak taco (Pirate taco) and fish taco I got was $6 each. I'm not even a taco fan nor I was hungry at that time but the ones I had there that day were good. I'm not sure if the $4 tacos were as good but my friend said they were good. The burrito bowl was ok (7/10). The flavor is good but not enough veggie.

Out of all the other taco places in Bay Ridge and Sunset Park, this would be my number one pick Calling this place the best taco spot is an understatement.. Tacos were fresh and flavorful. Our favorite are the shrimp tacos and beef tacos. Prices and portion sizes were reasonable . Staff were friendly and welcoming. Definitely give this place a try!! You won't regret it!

Uhhhhh, I was flabbergasted! I came by this place on a whim at 8 o'clock on a Saturday night and well most business is on fifth Avenue were empty, this place had five or six groups of people inside. The menu is simple and straightforward. Tacos, tortas, soup, esquite, burritos, and quesadillas are the main stars of the menu. I had the grilled pollo taco and made a HUGE mistake of not ordering 4.... The two I had in the order were one of the most delicious tacos I've ever had and kicked myself for not getting more! The tortillas were fresh and the grilled chicken was moist and topped with fresh cilantro and onions, as any good pollo taco is. My partner had the grilled pollo torta (chicken sandwich) which blew both of us away. They had grilled the mozzarella cheese (what is this sorcery??!) to give the cheese a beautiful crisp, which added such a nice texture to the sandwich. The bread and chicken were very fresh and the combination of guacamole, black beans, jalapeño and tomato was outstanding. This will 100% be my next go to spot for authentic, fresh, delicious Mexican food.

My man been hyping up this spot so I had to try, and sorry to say, it didn't live up to the hype. We ordered to go. I tried a few tacos and a sip of his poblano soup. I've been eating out for years and years and I'll say this is the first time I am given a birria taco without the dip, It was dry and felt chewy. I also tried the el pastor, chicken, and beef; I'd say it was all a bit dry for my liking. I wouldn't consider this authentic. I can see why he loves the soup so much, because he is a spicy fan and it has a nice kick. It wasn't bad but it wasn't great enough to want it again, sorry, I'll take a pass.

I found TPF randomly when I was waiting for my son to get out of school and was intrigued when I saw the highly rated reviews. I looked at their menu and sent a screenshot of the California burrito to my husband who decided that's what we were having for dinner (he did a mobile order and picked it up while I picked up our kids from school). It's hard for us to find a good California burrito outside of SoCal after living there for 5 years, but to say we were impressed is an understatement! Flavor's on point, the crispy tortilla and red + green salsas were top notch and I can't rave about this place enough. I cannot wait to check out the restaurant in person. Highly highly recommend. You will NOT be disappointed!

I have visited this location before and the tacos are fresh and delicious. I plan to return to try other items on the menu. I also recommend (if available) the watermelon drink.

The food, is so good! I'm in love w their burritos! They are filled with flavor that hits all the senses. The people and service is always friendly and fast! Happy to have this spot in my neighborhood.

Tacos por favor has to be my favorite taco spot in brooklyn so far. They are very welcoming and the tacos are really, really good. It's fairly new, but from what I see, they have a lot of customers and good reviews. I usually get the surf and turf, al pastor, chorizo, and birria tacos with a side of pablano soup. Their tacos are flavorful and made fresh right behind the counter. I recommend stopping by and giving them a try. It's a small restaurant nice and bright but huge in flavor.

I love it here. I went looking for a vegetarian burrito and it was very healthy. The staff was so welcoming and friendly. The ambience was nice - dads and delivery guys grabbing a quick lunch. Normally a mistake that burrito places make on vegetarian options is they give you rice and a bit of iceberg lettuce. The one I got here it was perfect. It was so tasty and filling - with no rice as filler. I'm looking forward to coming back.

Legit Tacos Al Pastor on the trompo, with the pineapple, CDMX style. Flavorful, delicious (though could use a touch less salt), crispy. I've never seen a trompo (essentially a shawarma/gyro type spit but with marinated pork) in NYC, and am very glad there's now one close by! I also recently started exploring other parts of the menu, and it's mostly been really really good (though the steak burrito was just fine). Tacos with rich stewed pork barbacoa, indulgent chicharron, or flavorful tinga. They add a bit of cheese to the flour taco and burrito tortillas, which adds an extra richness. The space is bright and the staff efficient. Love this place.

honestly, the first thing I noticed about this taco spot was how nice it looked inside. I love the colors! the menu offers a array of taco options, each more tempting than the last. I liked the tacos but they were definitely more on the oily side. the guac was fresh and honestly a 10/10! in terms of service, it was excellent, it was efficient and friendly

I was out for a quick breath of fresh air after staring at the PC screen for far too long the last few days and passed by the recently opened Tacos Por Favor. I had not heard anything about the place yet but it has been here a few weeks if not a little longer and when I saw the sign that said "4 Tacos for $10 with a Soda" I knew I had to give them a chance. Inside the establishment there were signs informing about free WiFi, which I always love and the place was spotless clean. It is mostly an order and take home kind of place but there was a few small tables to sit at in the event you wanted to just eat there and then return home. The girl behind the counter greeted my friend and I with a big smile and then took our order. The tacos were ready in less than five minutes it would seem and right behind some glass display counters was a big grill that things were being cooked on. The tacos were beef and had some cilantro, onions and a couple of other things and came with either a green or red sauce. Since there were four tacos I asked for both figuring one sauce for each pair to compare. The red is hotter than the green but I liked the both equally. These were smaller in size than one might find at a full on restaurant but I viewed them as appetizer sized. I mentioned I was taking mine home and I inhaled them. I will definitely be returning to try some other stuff. This is a worthy option for those exploring Fifth Avenue in Bay Ridge in the 80's numbers. This place is consistently delicious! I come here weekly and always get the house burrito with the plantains and homemade tortilla. Very clean resturaunt and workers are very attentive.

This establishment has been extremely disrespectful to our community in Bay Ridge Brooklyn. I live on 82nd Street and cannot walk on the sidewalk w out fear from the delivery people driving the e-bikes on the block! There came a few times where my dogs and I were almost hit ...We have tried many times ask him to go ride the motorized vehicle on the street where it belongs. This is met w contempt and disrespect! After seeing the lack of response to our pleas to ride on the street, we no longer buy anything from this place! - So disappointing !!

I normally don't usually prefer Mexican food but I was looking for something that was small and tacos were perfect. I had heard about this good new place that opened in the neighborhood. My partner and I wanted to try the different types of meats so we ordered the taco platter which consisted of 12 tacos that you can mix and match. We ordered a mix of the Tinga Time Tacos, Traditional Tacos Al Pastor, and Viva Chorizo Tacos. Out of the 3 we ordered, we surprisingly liked the Tinga chicken tacos the most even though my partner and I don't normally like chicken. The tacos were so good that I ate more than I expected even though I wasn't too hungry (5 out of 12 tacos). Even though they had a big order before ours, it took less than 10 minutes for our food to come out. They have about 5-6 small tables indoors but we took it home to eat and it was still hot and delicious! I also ordered a strawberry concha which was good as well. It wasn't as sweet as I expected so I enjoyed it.

I loved the skirt steak taco. It was a lovely mixture of savory and sweet (from the plantains) very flavorful. The place was very clean and the server was polite.

Service is quick. Tacos were pretty good and I love the elote. Good corner spot. You can sit inside or outside and hang out and enjoy your tacos.

We had the salmon, the grilled chicken and the octopus. OMG Fresh and seasoned to perfection. I mean a unique twist on tacos that will have you wanting more and more. Five + stars for this place. We were lucky to drop in on a rainy Sunday and they were just getting started. Let me apologize for not taking pictures of the food but it smelled so good we dived in. I promise to return soon and will send food pics next time. Pedro and his crew are AMAZING don't miss out on a fantastic foodie experience. Get there!!!

Came in here on a random Tuesday night and wow was I glad I did not. I got the four tacos for 12 and esquites. Best Mexican esquire I've ever had. Tacos were super fresh and flavorful as well & the staff was very friendly and accommodating. Will definitely be back here and I can't wait to try more on the menu.

I work a few blocks away from this restaurant and decided to try their chicken tacos. They were very flavorful and affordable at $3.50 a taco or 4 for $12. I will definitely be back to try some other dishes. Inside is very clean and the service is friendly as well!

Our new favorite neighborhood tacos spot - the house and California burrito is excellent!! Full of flavors and really filling - with rib eye. The owner is very friendly and even showed us a new item on the menu! Pork belly taco with pickles onions and guac, that is going to be a hit - great flavors. We have been here or ordered atleast 4 times!!

Delicious, fresh food and super friendly service! This place is seriously addicting ... and the Pineapple Tres Leches cake is to die for! So happy to see this open in my neighborhood ... I've eaten there about a half dozen times and the food and service is consistent. The menu offerings are a bit different than a 'typical' Mexican restaurant and the differences are refreshing and delicious! Highly recommend !!!!

My husband and I were waiting so patiently for this restaurant to open up. Finally they did!!! Hubby ordered the #6 Special-Tinga Jalapeño for lunch. He said it was delicious and full of flavor. So I decided to order one myself for dinner. Well hubby was right! Definitely full of deliciousness. Fresh moist Tinga drenched in sauce along with jalapeño packed into a soft bun. He ordered the Por Favor Burger another great choice as well. Included in this tasty burger was grilled pineapple which gave it a nice sweetness. Their fries are fresh cut potato chips. Another plus is they have baked goods which come from their own bakery called Mandato. Yummy all the way and we'll worth the wait!!!!!

Amazing food, best Mexican restaurant in Bayridge/Brooklyn. Service is incredible, staff are pleasant, and willing to serve to please. They have a great menu and everything tastes delicious. Highly recommended, I drive far just to come eat here.

This restaurant is a delight. The interior is clean and welcoming and the service is amazing. The food is not overly expensive and is well worth the money. The meat in each taco is freshly grilled and perfectly tender and flavorful. They have so many good options for tacos. Best in Bay Ridge.

Had the surf 'n' turf and the shrimp tacos, and they were the best I've had since I moved to NY 3 years ago. Possibly best I've had period.

What a gem! We stopped by for a quick lunch this afternoon and left fully satisfied. The chorizo tacos were delicious, with a perfect kick! The chilaquiles was well portioned and fantastic. Pedro and his team were were welcoming and kind. We'll definitely be back :)

A little birdie on here said that this new spot comes from the owner of Mandato on 3rd Ave! Born in Sunset, raised in Bay Ridge so I know all the good spots in the area. Mandato is both a bakery/grocery and a restaurant right next to each other on 72nd and 3rd Ave, if you've never been definitely check it out. Their chorizo is tied with Tacos El Bronco for my favorite chorizo in NYC period. They're literally located on a block with 3 other taquerias and have always been my personal favorite so I was pretty confident that whatever I ordered from this new spot of his would be great quality food. They have a deal right now on Ubereats and in person apparently as well for 4 tacos priced at $10. Definitely a steal and a great way to bring in customers. I hope they keep it on the menu though! I decided to get a tostada de tinga as well because with the deal, you're only allowed to get two different meats. All in all I ordered 2 carnitas tacos, 2 chorizo for the deal, the tostada and an extra "shredded beef" taco for an added meat option. I like to have variety. First things first, on top of the order coming from Bay Ridge to Midwood, my delivery driver also had another stop before me so it was in transit for about 40 minutes. That doesn't include however long it sat in the restaurant after being packed waiting for pick up. That being said, I was more than pleasantly surprised with the crunchiness of the actual tostada upon arrival. They were super considerate when they packed it, that fact wasn't a surprise to me but I really did not think it would hold up. There were two sheets of parchment paper underneath and they left some air so that it wouldn't get soggy. Amazing. I will say, I could've done without the "fancy" lettuce lol. I actually prefer the typical shredded lettuce or cabbage on top, it's a lot more refreshing and you get more in each bite. Also would have preferred refried pinto beans instead of black but it was still very delicious. Now for the tacos: Loved the tortillas, they're definitely making them with love and lots of lard. The "shredded beef" was just bistec. I still thought it was delicious don't get me wrong, but they need to change that description. I thought it'd be suadero or birria like in texture but it was just a regular steak taco. Thinly sliced steak chopped up. Well seasoned but nowhere near shredded beef in the slightest. The carnitas tacos were not what I usually prefer when it comes to carnitas. I was expecting this though, I tend to stick with pulled pork like texture. Some places do more of a chunky texture, Mandato is one of them and so is this spot. It works if done right and it's good, but it's not my personal preference. The chorizo was so good as expected, perfect texture, perfect spice. Just perfect. Next time I'm back in the neighborhood, I will definitely stop in. The decor looks super cute from the pictures posted on here. I hope they last, I've seen lots of places come and go in Bay Ridge.. Mandato has been around for a long time and I hope Tacos Por Favor gets to do the same.

Definitely a destination spot!!!!! These tacos are heavenly!!! We actually went crazy last night ordered one of everything because we couldn't decide what we wanted after we tasted the Al Pastor taco, the surf and turf was amazing. Holy guacamole!!!! The ingredients are so fresh, The steak pork and the Shrimp was perfectly cooked. The seasonings that they put on it are absolutely scrumptious. Plus the flour tortilla and the corn tortillas are perfectly toasted. The flour tortillas they had there are the best that I've actually ever had and I've had my fair share of tortillas. The thought that they put into making a perfect taco it is pure artistry. They melt the cheese on the toasted tortilla and put delicious juicy season charbroiled meats and Chopped Tomatoes garnishes and onions with delicious salsas. Being born & raised in California Mexican food is our comfort food. There's only two places that I feel satisfied having the Tastes of home met here in NYC. Tacos Por Favor is definitely one of them.

Ok if you enjoy Tacos this is the restaurant's place to go and enjoy one of many choices .... Theirs no need to go through the whole list as the are all delicious and prepared well .... I enjoy the side fishes as well The service could be slow but it's because the phone is ringing off the hook for delivery order's... As you leave you see about ten bikers waiting to delivery food .... This tells you it might not be crowded inside but they sure as heck are making deliveries....

Tacos por favor is amazing ! It's fresh and friendly and actually taste like delicious Mexican food! Not a weird mezcla of crema and piles of lettuce and tomatoes and artificial flavoring that I've found at other bay ridge Mexican places. Everything is delicious so far. So far I love their tostadas , soup and guacamole (It's fresh avocado they prepare it on the spot people!) Anytime anyone asks me for my fave Mexicano or taco spot it's definitely this place. And the owner Pedro is a friendly family man who chats with my kids and makes us feel at home.

This Mexican likes how they cook here. It's very very. I like soup a lot, and they make a delicious soup light broth with meat and veggies in it. Their tacos are delicious. Any type of tacos you order will satisfy your taco cravings.

Our favorite tacos/burritos in bay ridge. The meat is quality and flavors are on point; just wish the portion size was a little bit bigger but this is where quality over quantity comes in. We had their house special burrito which is our favorite thing so far. I hope this place sticks around for good because we haven't found a place around here that compares. Also ask for the salsa in case they forget, the first time we went, we weren't given any.

Omg, best burrito ever. Granted, I usually order tacos in whatever city I'm at, but their House Burrito sounded so good. And it is! Wow. Though, while flavorful, I'm led to believe that new Yorkers may not be into very spicy salsa, haha.

I have been here many times and I liked the food at first but as time went on my meat quality was getting terrible. I dont recommend coming here because my money was wasted

Tacos por favor is a relatively new restaurant, having only been open for seven months and I wish I went sooner. I wish I could go every day, it was that good. The owner, Pedro, is a very kind and welcoming soul, and my family and I could tell that he was extremely passionate about his restaurant which made us even more excited to try it. We had the chips and guacamole to start and were pleased to see that the chips were fresh and not greasy. The guacamole was perfectly refreshing, and i almost got full off of it! We had an elote dip with ridged potato chips. The dip was light but cheesy and rich and the chips were perfectly thin and crispy. For our main tacos, we had the shrimp taco special, which were to die for. There was a crispy layer of torched mozzarella cheese on the tortilla which gave a great smoky flavor and the shrimp was perfectly tender and seasoned. The red dipping sauce was spicy and tangy while the green one was bright and had a cooler spice to it, both of which were perfect accompaniments to all of the tacos I had. I also tried the salmon taco special. The salmon was flaking apart so beautifully and the pink color was vibrant, and the flavor was incredible. The pickled pink onions were thin and provided a great hit of acidity in each bite. The chicken tinga tacos are a classic and I loved the spiciness of their chicken. The shred was perfect and uniform, and it was especially complementary with the cooler green sauce. I will most definitely be returning to this establishment, one for the food and two for the incredible service. They even use halal meats and have a separate section for cooking them, which is just so accommodating and sweet. This affordable and authentic restaurant is the best addition to the bay ridge community and i am excited to return to indulge some more!
