Where do I begin!!! This was one of the most underwhelming experiences I have had and a pricey one as well! Not worth the hype AT ALL and it was not even that good.
I guess I will start with the beginning. The place itself is not very big to begin with so it gets filled fast. There is a sign when you enter to NOT sit yourself. But, then completely omits putting a person in the entrance to direct the incoming flow of customers. There is ONE very long line and you have no idea if that is to pay, to get seated or both. In our case, it turned out it was to do both, pay and let them know you are waiting for a table. Yea, not very coordinated at all.....
You scan the menu with the QR code and then the waiter takes a very long time to come and take your order.
The chips are EXTREMELY SALTY. Unless you like the bloated look, I recommend you to not indulge in the chips.
When the food finally arrived, it was also very very greasy. I felt I had to detox after leaving this place. Everything is soaking in grease which is probably why they put plastic wrapper around the plates. They tried poorly to replicate the dishes in Mexico but in Mexico, I have not received tacos soaking in grease like I did here...which brings me to my next point.
All throughout the US and even the majority of Mexico... spit-grilled slices of pork is called "AL PASTOR" here, they call it ADOBADA.. which I get, that is how it is referred to in Tijuana. HOWEVER, if the common accepted use of that type of meat is AL PASTOR, then they should at least add in parenthesis (AL PASTOR). .. and not assume that everyone will know that adobada is AL PASTOR... which by the way was not good, not seasoned AT ALL and drenched in fat...
The kicker is how extremely expensive this place is. I ended up paying close to $100 for 4 dishes and three waters all consisting of tacos. Yea, I could've gone to a much fancier restaurant in a much nicer part of town and actually paid less and probably enjoyed my food a lot more.
This place has bad reviews for a reason.... enter at your own risk.
